Thanks Duggs" for the new list. I think I should be on the TTC 2nd or More Assistance list as I have two older children (15 and 13). Like Arainrhod* I think it was my last pregnancy that kicked off my very high NKC (certainly that's what Mr S has suggested).

I am on Hydroxy, and Pred 25mg (rising to 40mg with a positive test). I have done one cycle of SO. Have had 7 mc's. Waiting for ERPC test results end Sept, then will make a decision whether to try again or not - had decided that the last time would be it, and certainly our finances have run dry, but if there was something wrong with the "baby" we may consider one more go.

Abney · 21/08/2012 21:20

Hi all again. I have just counted all those who are either pg 33 across all trimesters incl those who have 1 DC against those trying for DC 1 (14). So surely this shows that if you can get pg eventually you will get there in the end. Now come on more BFP's please. Can someone move me down to the unassisted list the next time it is updated. I have had my 6 SO attempts so it is now DIY or IVF Grin. I reckon it may be better to update any changes in 1 go rather multiple attempts.

Hi ladies, ive just done my Third cycle of Letrozole this month and steroids and af arrived today cd 25. Took last steroid today and af due Saturday. No migraines or spotting but bad tummy pain and bright red. Any experiences please?? X

Hi and welcome Mel. Can't help with the SO query but I am sure someone here can (or on the super ov thread). I am sorry about what you've been through - and see that your daughter arrived at 29 weeks. I think quite a few nk ladies have either had late losses or prem babies. The is your body baby friendly author (dr ? Can you tell my brain has turned to mush?) mentions prem birth as a nk factor.

Kittens when is your scan? I am on the edge
of my hospital bed. There a lady in the bed opp me who has had 9' losses and now pregnant on the 10th go. She and I are havig to be reassured by the lovely midwives about every 10 mins that we need to stay positive - bit hard when we are surrounded by almost every conceivable thing that can go wrong in pregnancy on a high risk antenatal ward!

Thanks for doing the list duggs. After being under the microscope for ago long and subject to fortnightly cervical length scans for the last few months my fanjo is now strictly off limits! Even when I had contractions on Sunday nobody would check dilation as the absolute biggest risk to me now I have no amniotic fluid to protect the baby is infection.

Did anyone watch the midwives on bbc2 last night? There was a lady who lost her waters and then delivered at 30 weeks and her baby died of an infection that wasn't picked up in her Sad . The midwife doing rounds turned off my tv!! I think I had better stick to grazia magazine...

Apparently, based on averages I should go into labour by Monday (31'weeks) If not, it becomes a really delicate balancing act between infection risk from me (my biggest fear) and prem birth (which I have got
my head around a bit)

Sorry for lack of more personals - on phone (no wifi for my iPad, my only complaint about the place (not seriously, I wouldn't complain about that!))

It's great to hear everyone's news - helps to while away the 15 or so hours a day i am awake without much to do! I can't always type though as I'm often hooked up to a pulse thingy or have a line in my hand

PQ77 · 22/08/2012 07:44

Hi abney - just on accupuncture, I had it preconception from a v traditional chinese dr. He wanted to get met qi
(life energy) levels right which he said had been depleted by grief and also thicken the lining of my uterus as my periods had been getting very light. Objectively, my periods did get much heavier (in a good way) in the cycle before i conceived when he pronounced me ready to ttc.
I would second what everyone has said about going to someone recommended and specialising in fertility.

If nothing else I found it relaxing and a good de-stresser

picolina123 · 22/08/2012 08:07

hi everyone , been busy looking for a job but have been lurking a few times a week just to keep uptodate .
abney theres a list of approved people, i think its british accupuncture council( service ) not exactly sure, but if you put your post code in it will give you some in your area. I go to wimbledon ( live in sutton) which is a bit of a hike esp during the week, at the moment im at home so its not too bad, but the lady i go to has been trained by trevor wing to treat nk cells with chinese med / accupuncture so im limited to where i can go.

ive beenok here , for all those who are mentalling has anyone tried a stress diary ? my chinese doc keeps telling me i have to get stress under control as very bad for baby ( when i finally get preg again- start trying next mth) i got my secret diary on my ipad ( free) and on the top i put in thinggs im -stressing - about and at the bottom i put in -resolutions- i find its helped more than i expected it to. even if the resolution is things are beyond my control etc etc , writting it down has helped.

im still trying to get my cycle back to normal post steriods, its been mths and im still not back there yet, every month is better though so im happy about that, accupuncture is fantastic !

LJ71 · 22/08/2012 08:24

Just thought I'd add that acupuncture for me didn't seem to make a difference. Aside from it being painful and therefore not particularly relaxing, I couldn't justify keeping funding it when I'd had two mc's whilst having acupuncture and Mr S's help.

If there is a next try for me I'll do it without acupuncture. Don't get me wrong, my guy was lovely and it was nice to have a "counselling" session with him, but I just didn't find any difference either emotionally or physically in the end.

Havingkittens · 22/08/2012 09:52

mel, the various Super Ovulation drugs can alter your cycle slightly. Have you joined the Super Ovulation thread? Probably a better place to get info as everyone on there has plenty of experience of all the various drugs.

PQ, my scan is at 8.45 tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to the joy of driving across the whole length of London in rush hour, but there you go! I have managed, so far, not to mental too much. Not especially strong symptoms but they are there. Felt mildly sick a lot of yesterday. Bunged up sinuses, very thirsty and weeing like a maniac. Oh, and quite tetchy (lucky OH!). Glad to hear you're doing ok there. You must be very bored and anxious. Are you allowed visitors? I'm meeting a friend for lunch in Waterloo so I could pop in and say hello afterwards if you are. You're at St Thomas's aren't you?

sarahs999 · 22/08/2012 12:49

HI all

PQ well done for hanging on. It must be mental in the hospital but you seem to be doing really well keeping sane. Best to keep away from those midwives programmes though...

re acupuncture I too had it pre-conception and through two mcs, so it wasn't the answer for me. Proper full on Harley Stree/Chinese specialist too, but of course it doesn't mean it won't help some aspects of fertility/conception.

Hi to everyone else - I'm so sorry, I've forgotten names but I am checking and reading and keeping up every day. Just mentalling about my nuchal on Friday; I'll probably be more active and chatty after that. Good luck tomorrow at yours, kittens. ANd well done for not mentalling too much.

Now, a few questions. I have to start phasing off the pred on Tuesday (yay!) and I have enough pills left to do it in four-day chunks rather than three-day, as suggested by Mr S. FOr those of you who have experience in phasing off, can I ask a few questions?

  1. First, is there anyone who's done it in three-day chunks and not felt ill/weird?
  2. Those who did it in four-day chunks, did you check with the clinic first or just do it? Any idea if they'd be all right with the idea?
  3. Anyone do it in four day chunks and STILL have illness?

Thanks! Can't believe I'm so close to getting back my sleep/losing my moonface/paunch....

PQ77 · 22/08/2012 16:59

Hi Sarah - just checked my diary and I weaned off 40 mg in 4 day steps (at Mr s's suggestion) and was absolutely fine. No side effects apart from losing the moon face!

freelancegirl · 22/08/2012 18:27

Poor you PQ. It must be both dull and boring and tense and anxiety provoking all at the same time.

Sarah I will send you a video link to my moonface/non moonface edit - it's quite remarkable. I find my moonface tended to blow up particularly nicely the week I went off the pred (first time for mc, second time during successful pregnancy) but then taper off as I tapered. I tapered with three days and felt a bit weird - a few aching limbs - but tbh I was so pleased to come off it I didn't care [we need a moon face emoticon]. Now I remember however, paranoid meant I stayed on 25mg for an extra few days (tapering from 40mg) just as I was using the drugs as a bit of a safety net. Not necessary am sure.

Hi Pico so sorry you are having trouble with the cycles still - hope the chinese medicine works for you. Re acupuncture I only had it a couple of times and it was on a pregnancy that didn't look like it was destined to work anyway - only a small sac was ever seen. It was quite relaxing though so may be good for stress!

Good luck with the scan tomorrow Kittens! We will all be waiting for your update.

Damn - I wrote this this morning!! And I haven't even welcomed newbies! But gotta run do some feeding - will return when pos.

Havingkittens · 22/08/2012 19:08

Thanks Free, I'll post as soon as I can. Not sure of my posting abilities on my ancient phone so may not be 'til the afternoon.

LJ71 · 22/08/2012 19:55

Sarahs999 When I weaned off every 3 days I got really bad headaches.

The 2nd time I weaned off it was every 4 days on Louise's advice, seconded by Mr S.

I got no symptoms when weaning every 4 days, apart from four days of headaches once I'd finished completely - which I found really weird as I'd only reduced from 5mg at that last stage. It may of course have been a coincidence.

BTW -my first "period" since my ERPC is dragging on, I'm on day 9 now! Not particularly heavy most of the time, but I'm really fed up it's going on so long. It also started only 3 wks after the op! I guess my body is trying to regulate itself!

GreenOlives · 23/08/2012 08:25

Just popping in to say good luck today kittens! Let us know how it goes.

Also Sarah I weaned off over 3 day chunks, am on my final 5mg tablet today! I had terrible headaches when going from25 down to 20 but otherwise its beenalright. I was only on 25 though and if I remember right you're on 40 aren't you?

sarahs999 · 23/08/2012 12:01

No, I'm on 25mg too. Hmmm. What to do. I'm not usually a headachey person so I guess I'll know pretty quickly if it's not working for me.

Free can't wait to see the moonface edit! PM me!

Havingkittens · 23/08/2012 12:34

So far, so good! Measuring 6+5, which is just a day less than my estimate and a good heartbeat. Next scan on 4 Sept (and all being well, more intralipids) so not too long to wait. Phew!

sarahs999 · 23/08/2012 12:40

Brilliant news kittens. Have you managed to breathe out yet?!

duggs1976 · 23/08/2012 12:46

Oh wow thanks for letting us know kittens ! Such a relief for you xGrin

ChoccyPud · 23/08/2012 12:58

Fabulous news kittens! Grin

iggi777 · 23/08/2012 14:16

Glad to see you good news Kittens Smile
Is it just me or can anyone else hardly bear to look when it's a scan day?

Arianrhod · 23/08/2012 14:48

Said it on the other thread, but fantastic news kittens, so pleased!! :)

So thrilled for you kittens! I have been nervous for you all morning! Lovely to see you yesterday, now I can say you had the pregnancy glow Smile

Havingkittens · 23/08/2012 15:04

Thank you Grin. Yes, I have just about managed to breathe out. I was feeling really calm until this morning. When I saw the heartbeat I almost burst into tears! I have to admit I had a bit of a blub this afternoon, just wishing I could phone my mum, but hopefully she keeping her eye on me anyway.

Lovely to see you too PQ. How are you doing today? There have been a couple of comments on how "well" I have been looking. I couldn't decide whether it was my hormones or the new skincare that I switched to about 6 weeks ago! Hopefully it will distract from what the pred is doing to my hair and my waistline Wink, and possibly my impending moonface.

BellyD · 23/08/2012 16:43

Fab scan news Kittens so happy for you.
