Due to overwhelming monthly disappointments, a few of us have decided to go the traditional route.

Coupled with that, we know that one CAN'T have pregnancy symptoms unless one is ACTUALLY pregnant and that only actually happens after implantation. Which is normally about 10DPO then it takes a couple days to show up in the urine etc etc so pregnancy symptoms can only really be felt at about 13DPO.

The purpose of this thread is three fold:

  • Support in TTC (mostly for first-timers)
  • No symptom spotting allowed AT ALL
  • Trying to exclude sticks (but we know that sometimes they're necessary)

So this will be practical application of theories and science.

We pledge to be honest and open and practical.
We pledge to give utmost support to each other in our struggle TTC
And we pledge to not give false hope or support symptom spotting until well after 13DPO

Pink - you have nothing to worry about. It won't do anything to the foetus.

I read that EWCM can occur through the cycle and that only once in the cycle is it fertile. Also, that women with PCOS may have the EWCM closer to the time of AF but it's not fertile and they won't fall pregnant.

Just looking into CM and if maybe I OVed earlier?

I remember one night DH noticed there was a definite increase in CM but it was watery - EWCM may also be watery apparently?

No idea. Must. Stop. Obsessing!

Does anyone think I should POAS or should I leave it? I know I am supposed to be just DTD EOD / ED and not stressing but I've not noticed any EWCM and it's worrying me!

I think I am just so tired now (work is shit) and I'm not coping with that. If I am effing infertile, then I can just sleep instead of bothering DTD

Kittenkatzen · 01/06/2012 10:26

Are you late then kicking?

I wouldn't worry too much about apparent lack of EWCM - I think it can be more/less obvious from woman to woman. I've also read that it's quite easily confused with semen......and if you're dtd eod/ed then maybe it's all just getting erm, mixed up together?!

This thread is quite interesting and has some tips on increasing...ahem...output :o

VeggieSaus · 01/06/2012 11:17

Last few months I've done ov tests and found that I didn't have any EWCM around the supposedly fertile time but loads about a week later. So either the ov tests aren't that accurate or my EWCM isn't linked to ov.

Anyhoo, we all need to stop obsessing over these things, loads of dtd is the only way to go!

I've also been using Concieve Plus, don't really know if it will make a difference but it's fun :)

KickingUpQuestions · 01/06/2012 11:17

Interesting thread there. I wonder if its true that sperm takes 12 hours to recoup?

Yeh I have no idea if I am late. I guess it's all down to the individual bodies and stuff and how we react to everything.

KickingUpQuestions · 01/06/2012 11:21

That site said that if you have PCOS, you can get CM randomly throughout the month...

I used to have fertile CM but this month, I suppose I didn't really check until 3 days ago.

I know OPK's aren't reliable either.

I need to stop obsessing!!

Cheers kicking Smile I rarely find my ewcm, I had it the day I got my smiley but none since tho I took epo 3000mg daily up until ov which is supposed to help.

Welcome Veggie Wine

We've been using conceive plus too and instead cups!

KickingUpQuestions · 01/06/2012 12:11

Do you know what's weird?

I REMEMBER CM from when I was younger. I was permanently HORRIFIED by the huge glops of stuff in my knickers. Talking from the age of like 10.

It's been drying up though...

I used to be highly fertile :(

OP posts:
Pinkie29 · 01/06/2012 17:13

I think some women just have more than others, I've read on a few forums about ppl having none or not finding it and still conceiving I honestly don't think it means your fertility is dipping (that's just our age!)

I say this because if ewcm defines fertility I'm a barren wasteland!

KickingUpQuestions · 01/06/2012 17:18

No I remember lumps of the stuff!

I read an article that did say it dries up as you get older and I really, really do remember there being loads growing up.

I never knew what it was until like...10mins ago!

Pinkie29 · 01/06/2012 21:45

Lol bless! I can't say I've ever really had much tho I was on the pill from 16-29 with a few breaks in between

KickingUpQuestions · 01/06/2012 22:18

Yet i wasn't on the pill much. Maybe a year? But started puberty are 10.

I have been confused a lot

OP posts:
Pinkie29 · 01/06/2012 22:52

I don't know when I started puberty, I noticed my first 'pube' at 9 (I hate the word pube and puberty!) i was disgusted and pulled it out and continued to do so until I was the only ten year old shaving! I needed a bra by eleven and hated it I was such a tomboy until about 15, needless to say I felt I'd been cursed when my period arrived just after my 13th Sad I hated the fact I had big boobs small waist an apparently 'enviable' figure for my age, how ironic that I now have body dysmorphia haha, I honestly didn't want to become a woman and to this day I often feel like a little girl... Do I have issues?!

QueenOfTheDrama · 02/06/2012 10:02

pinkie I was the same growing up, I was a massive tomboy and was mortified when I started getting boobs and started my periods. I used to wish really hard that I'd never have another period or that my breasts would stop growing - now its the opposite, I want periods and fertility! If you have issues then I'm sure I do too Grin

Re CM, kicking I remember getting loads growing up too! I remember sometimes being embarrassed to put my underwear in the washing basket in case my mum saw it Blush haha! This month I don't think I've noticed EWCM either, I definitely had an increase in CM just after af but it wasn't EW. I didn't really have anything around when I thought I should OV, now I'm CD20 and the CM seems to have picked up again, but again not necessarily EW. Is this a sign of post-OV do you think or could I be OV late?

KickingUpQuestions · 02/06/2012 18:59

Another tom boy.

I started puberty at 8 years... started af at 10.

I read that cm gets more watery as we get older.

Up at 6am to go offroad cycling. I have been in bed since 4pm and have no intention of getting up again

OP posts:
KickingUpQuestions · 02/06/2012 19:01

Oh queen - i think you can have changes in cm throughout the month

i would dtd right up until af to make sure

OP posts:
Pinkie29 · 02/06/2012 22:00

Af at ten?! Aww I just want to hug you that's far too young Sad I found it hard enough at 13! I struggle to have close gfs as I just find a lot of women too bitchy and dramatic, I get on much better with guys and know where I stand!

KickingUpQuestions · 03/06/2012 11:02

And having female managers. They are the worst!!

I could never be lesbian. I really in general dislike women. Its only the tom boy sport women j could bother with

we did 42miles yesterday. On a mountain bike. My legs were battered and DH has sore ribs. We were in bed at 4pm. What lightweights !!

I have pretty big self esteem issues which i blame on my puberty. My mum took me aside at 8 years old to explain my rapidly approaching puberty. I walked hunched over for years to hide my breasts. Oh well :)

I am having af type cramps. Not at all as severe though. Started early this morning. Could it be OV cramps? We didn't dtd last night so need to do it today.... This morning

OP posts:
Pinkie29 · 03/06/2012 11:08

I used to wear really tight body suits and vests to hide my boobs! The things we do! Boys just always seemed to have more fun riding bikes climbing trees etc! My dad would have to plead with me to 'dress like a girl' at weddings christening Grin

42 miles wow! I feel rubbishy' I've had a few twinges last night…

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 03/06/2012 12:02

Kicking I had cramps this month for the first time around ov and ov the next day.

Could well be that.

I've been really bad on google today. Need to get my Internet access revoked I think.

NicolaHazel · 03/06/2012 12:08

You and me both, Pickle...I'm sure getting pregnant was less stressful pre-Google / internet!

Pinkie29 · 03/06/2012 12:41

I don't know how our mothers coped! You just got and had a baby my mum didn't even have scans with two of us!

NicolaHazel · 03/06/2012 12:44

It's probably much easier without any information. These days there's so much info available it's impossible to avoid. Even if knowledge isn't always an advantage!

KickingUpQuestions · 03/06/2012 13:05

We have moved into an age where communication has become clearer. Doctors are online and we are here comparing notes. We aren't alone anymore. And that means we crave the similarity and the knowing that we aren't alone.

I think the trouble with that us that we believe we can be grouped and we can have similar symptoms and that is highly unlikely

that's why in our ttc, we should only support each other. No false hope, no Google. Just treat our body well and listen to it. Because that's really the only thing that knows us and that gives out the right symptoms uniquely for us.

Oh and obviously if i have af type cramps, someone should tell me its OV Wink
