TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Thanks everyone, I've got fingers and toes crossed. Will PO another S tomorrow in a couple of days and see if it's any darker.

Nicola what shape of dress is it? If it's something a-line it might be quite forgiving of a tiny baby bump?

fingers crossed for red too

Pinkie29 · 19/05/2012 10:58

bugsy congrats!!! Fx it gets darker!

Nicola it's odd what the pill does to our bodies! On the regular 21 day pill I'd come on like clockwork on day 26 I ended up on cerazette and would go 3 - 4 months without a period.

Since coming off my cycles have been anywhere from 33 - 52! Average is between 33 and 43

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 11:01

Right...after faffing a bit, there is now a photo of me in my dress (as in not the sample) in my profile. All advice gratefully received!

I've got a week to decide what to do, as finished a pack yesterday. I'm always so decisive. This is so foreign to me!

mrsbugsywugsy · 19/05/2012 11:22

Nicola I think you need to make your profile public, I can't click on it

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 11:27

facepalm

Sorry...that's what happens when I try to do stuff on my phone!

I think it's public now!

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 11:29

Actually...the photo vanished. Bear with me!

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 11:33

I think my brain has left the building...should be there and public now :-)

I'm having a 'mare today. God help me when I actually have baby brain!

mrsbugsywugsy · 19/05/2012 11:54

That's a lovely dress!

I'm no expert, but it looks quite forgiving, because it flows outwards from the waist. The only other thing to worry about would be your boobs growing, is it quite tight on the chest?

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 12:04

Thank you!

It still has a bit of give on the chest...I have a proper fitting 4 weeks before the wedding to see if we need to alter it.

I think it would be ok for a little bump, but not if I expanded at speed, ha ha!

QueenOfTheRodeo · 19/05/2012 12:07

OMG bugsy that is DEFINITELY a line! How exciting! How many days DPO are you? when is/was af due? You have to test again tomorrow - can't wait for another update! Grin

nicola your dress is lovely! You're going to be a beautiful bride Smile (by the way, do update us on your wedding planning etc - I LOVE wedding talk), can you ask the shop how much hassle it would be to take your dress out maybe a couple of inches in case you were pg? Or maybe have it fitted slightly bigger than you need, as I'm sure it would be easier to make the dress smaller than the other way round? Oh and I saw from your profile that you live in Southport - I don't live there but I do work there! Small world!

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 12:32

Awww, thank you Queen, I can't wait!

I'm loving the planning part of it to be honest. It's almost all sorted now really though...just got to pay for the rest of it now. Oh, collecting our rings today, which is more than a little exciting :-)

If you'd like a little nosey, go to www.briandnic.gettingmarried.co.uk password BriandNic2012 to look at the entire shebang!

I thought about asking the shop, but didn't want to jump the gun in case it doesn't happen. Then I just look crazy!!

I think it's just going to have to be a take it as it comes and deal with it if necessary situation!

Small world indeed...I live in Southport but work in Birkenhead. Trek!

QueenOfTheRodeo · 19/05/2012 12:38

Ahh you won't look crazy, just tell the shop you're thinking of starting to ttc over the next few months so what would they recommend? I 'm sure they get this sort of thing all the time! I will have a look at your wedding site later when I have a bit more time, my wedding was only last year so still loving all things wedding!

God that must take you ages to get from Southport to Birkenhead every day!! I live about 20-30mins from Southport and thats bad enough! I actually got my wedding dress from a shop in Southport - on Bold Street, name escapes me at the minute??

Ohfi · 19/05/2012 12:42

Can I join? Total mums net newbie, just married, coil was taking out 2 weeks before wedding hoping for a honeymoon baby Hmm but AF decided to wait 53days! Wedding stress over, DH works offshore so will miss next ovulation :( hopefully June will be a good month!

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 12:48

That's a good plan, Queen, I'll pop in at some point to enquire :-)

And yes, 70 minutes door to door if everything runs to plan. And that's not often with Merseyrail! :-( Not looking forward to it once heavily pregnant.

I know the shop you mean. Mine is from a shop in Wayfarers' Arcade. Can't think of the name of yours though!

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 12:50

Oh, and hi Ohfi :-)

QueenOfTheRodeo · 19/05/2012 12:53

lucy briars! thats what my shop was called!

welcome ohfi - sorry you didn't get your honeymoon baby but as you say hopefully now wedding stress is over you will get lucky, fx for you Smile

mrsbugsywugsy · 19/05/2012 13:03

Hello Ohfi & good luck for June.

Nicola definitely ask at the shop, I'm sure they won't bat an eyelid.

Queen do you think so? AF was due on Wednesday last week, but my cycles aren't that regular and I thought I'd ovulated late last month as I had some cramps on day 18. Although maybe that was implantation? Anyway, I'm somewhere between and 14 and 17 DPO.

EchoDragon · 19/05/2012 16:02

Congratulations bugs looks like a definite positive to me. Fx it'll get stronger. I'm so pleased we have our first BFP.

Nicola love the dress. I'm sure you'd get away with a small bump. But you have to do what you think is right for you.

Hi ohfi fx for a June BFP for you.

Bugs do keep us posted i'm so excited.

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 16:16

Thank you Echo :-)

I really just want to go for it. I do have a stash of condoms, so think I'll definitely come off the pill and go from there! I am scared and excited in equal measure now.

Kittenkatzen · 19/05/2012 16:27

Gorgeous dress nicola, I agree you could get away with a mini-bump if you wanted to....would be sods law that you'd fall for twins though Wink. Like queen I just got married recently too so do fill us in on all the lovely details!

Hi ohfi, welcome :)

SO excited for mrsbugsy :):):):

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 16:56

Ah yes, kitten, twins do run in the family as well! My sister and cousin are convinced I'll have them! Would be typical, eh?

But I am just SO desperate to start a family now. I never was until we got engaged, but now I'm obsessed!

I'm just going to come off the pill, tell H2B what I've done, and give him the choice of a condom or risking it...I think he'll just risk it! He knows how I feel, and we both want kids, so we would both be happy with an 'accident'.

I think he will consider it JSing, while I'll really be TTC! He doesn't really get how I feel, particularly when there is a steady stream of people announcing pregnancies at work :-(

Picked up our wedding rings today. All very exciting. The jeweller is very pregnant though!

QueenOfTheRodeo · 19/05/2012 18:35

haha its awful isn't it nicola - everywhere I go someone is either pregnant or has just had a baby, I want it to be meeee! Smile So exciting about your wedding rings, I remember I kept trying mine one in the run up to the wedding Grin

bugs yes thats definitely a line! Have you got any CB tests to use tomorrow?

NicolaHazel · 19/05/2012 18:41

Every time another person announces at work (5 women in same office, 1 in office across the road and 1 bloke's wife, with 6 of those announced in last month!) I text H2B with a sad face. Which he thinks is funny! Bloody men.

I imagine mine will be put on a good few times before October. It's so pretty.

I'm eagerly awaiting bugs' next POAS installment :-)

EchoDragon · 19/05/2012 19:45

I have three friends pregnant and another one who's trying as well. I'm fed up o everybody being pregnant but me [sulks and stamps feet]. Nicola queen I know how you ladies feel.

Bugsy :):):) I'm uber excited to hear your news. Let us know.

mrsbugsywugsy · 20/05/2012 08:04

Morning all,

I've woken up early again, just like last night I had very vivid dreams and woke up feeling really thirsty.

I POAS again and the line's still there. Faint, but definitely there. It was another superdrug one, and the last one I had. Are CB ones different / better?

I also feel a bit nauseous although I could be imagining symptoms now or it could be the pizza and massive slice of banoffee pie i ate last night

I'm slightly in shock!

Nicola, I think that sounds like a good plan. I think all our partners think we are JSing Grin
