TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

It is so exciting bugsy! I hope you're going to buy more tests ASAP! We need constant updates from you :-)

To be honest, I can't wait to get off this awful pill (Microgynon). Since Easter I've had so many symptoms of pregnancy on it (with plenty of POAS to go with) that I want it out of my system. I've had people far more experienced in knowing / spotting symptoms, including my best friend who's a midwife, utterly convinced I'm pregnant!!

So, at least if I come off it I may vaguely know where I am!

Pinkie29 · 20/05/2012 14:33

Woohoo bugsy Grin

I had a dream last night I was at a dinner party and a random woman said how healthy and 'glowing' I looked and when was I due? Sign?! Symptom?! Haha!

mrsbugsywugsy · 20/05/2012 19:32

Pinkie I definitely think they are a sign! In Friday night's dream I was pregnant (although I was planning to POAS in the morning so it was on my mind). Last night's dream was about zombies.

Have you ever taken the malaria tablets that give you vivid dreams? They are very similar to the ones I had when I was taking them.

Unfortuntately I've spent today writing an essay which is due tomorrow, so haven't left the house to buy any more peesticks

Pinkie29 · 20/05/2012 19:55

I think I have another two weeks before I ov but not to worry! Feeling quite positive about things but possible cause im not in the 2ww!

I avoided malaria tablets even tho I went to Egypt and Mexico as was worried I'd get sick! I always have crazy memorable dreams so hard to know, convinced I had a cp last month as I just felt completist different and the dreams were much odder than usual, not going to over think it tho what will be will be Smile

Decided tho I'll test from 7dpo onwards this month

QueenOfTheRodeo · 20/05/2012 22:55

So exciting bugsy - looking forward to another update tomorrow! Not sure if the CB tests are any better but at least you would have the word 'pregnant' so you'd know for sure rather than looking at lines! I think you are pregnant Grin Is your essay finished now? How good will tomorrow be handing it in then get another test on your way home! fx for you!

pinkie I know what you mean about feeling more positive when you're not in the 2ww! I'm CD7 today, af has finally gone so planning on dtd from tomorrow. I'm convinced that this will be our month!

Have you decided if this will be your last pill pack nicola? Hope so, then you can join in with the madness! Grin

NicolaHazel · 20/05/2012 23:34

Hi Queen

Yep, last pill taken! Scared shitless now, ha ha!

Pinkie29 · 21/05/2012 01:21

Queen - the 2ww could easily cause temporary insanity! I'm charting my bbt ;(first month) and had a big rise the last 3 days?! Can't be oving this early surely?! Hmm

redstrawberry · 21/05/2012 08:21

Morning folks - how was the weekend? This has been a busy thread! Nicola you look lovely in the dress and its a beautiful dress too :)

I am avoiding all 2ww related insanity - i.e. no symptom spotting and assuming its all AF. I just want this week to be over so I know whether AF is going to show up or not!! arrgghhh its been difficult all weekend to keep it under control.

Told the hubby to keep me away from the sticks. Its so hard to not pee on one the instant you get a cramp or twinge!

mrsbugsy I am so excited for you - whats update on the digital? Did you do one? Fx for you Smile

MissMedusa · 21/05/2012 08:25

Congratulations Bugsy

I wouldn't worry too much about that dress Nicola, it looks pretty forgiving and amazing things can be done with corsets. I have a friend who was 5 months PG with a similar dress and you couldn't tell unless you really knew to look. I was the same way when I got married last year. I really did not want to be PG on my wedding day but now since we've had such trouble conceiving I wonder why I bothered waiting, it all seems so arbitrary in comparison.

I've been temping this month and thought I had a temp spike and possible OV over the weekend but my temps are back down again. I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad about it. I'm happy because it might mean that I will still OV this cycle, DP goes in to have his swimmers checked on Wednesday so no DTD for 5 days prior to that which meant if I had OV'd on the weekend we would have missed it. If it's still to come we'll hopefully have another crack at it. I'm sad because it might mean that I won't OV this cycle at all which is what I suspect.

Right now I'm just crossing fingers that I will still OV this month and that it will be after Wednesday-

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 10:09

Thanks, Red that's really nice of you.

And I think you've just persuaded me to throw caution to the wind and just go for it, Medusa!

I think news of a baby is just what we need :-)

QueenOfTheRodeo · 21/05/2012 10:23

Yay nicola hope it happens soon for you! I'm scared shitless too, its weird because we both really want a baby and are ready to be parents but I think its fear of the unknown - will I be a good mother, will I know how to look after a baby, how will my life change, etc. However friends of mine tell me that its the best thing ever and that any changes are good ones!

pinkie I'm starting to think I might ovulate early this month too - have noticed big increase in CM since af ended 2 days ago and I'm pretty sure I don't normally get this till later on in the cycle? Confused

Any update yet bugsy? Smile

Pinkie29 · 21/05/2012 10:30

My cm looks clearer today, maybe the vitex and epo are working Smile hope we haven't missed ov this month already hmm not to worry tho! Will just dtd every 3rd day to make sure there's always swimmers waiting hehe!

QueenOfTheRodeo · 21/05/2012 10:36

I was supposed to start dtd this morning but slept in so no time Blush I'm working till 11pm tonight and I know DH will be knackered by then when I get home but I'm thinking I'm going to have to make him dtd anyway in case OV really is coming early. I'm on these shifts till Weds so will be Thurs till we get get back into some sort of routine. Bit worried now. What CD are you on now pinkie?

MissMedusa · 21/05/2012 10:48

Hmm. DTD first thing in the morning, that's an interesting idea I wonder if DP would be up for that. Usually we're lazy and hit the snooze until the last possible minute but that might just be worth waking up for Wink

QueenOfTheRodeo · 21/05/2012 10:54

haha medusa I'm not a morning person in the slightest and normally press snooze for as long as poss too. I was thinking that this week dtd in the morning would be easiest as me & DH are on opposite shifts, didn't quite manage it this morn though!

Pinkie29 · 21/05/2012 11:25

I'm on cd15 atm but last two cycles were 43 days and ovd day 28/29 last time according to ovpk (could have just been a surge but had ewcm too) having a few ov type twinges too and humming 'go go eggy eggy go go spermy spermy' hahaha I can hope! Got a ov stick on me so awaiting the afternoon to check!

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 12:08

Yeah, me too Queen...have to shelve the fear! Sure we will be fine. :-)

And morning DTD?! Weekends only, I'm afraid. I get up before 6 and I'm not waking for nookie before then!!

Kittenkatzen · 21/05/2012 12:32

haha nicola I have to say I'm totally with you on that one - my alarm goes off at 5.45am and I'm grumpy in the mornings too....DH is scared to talk to me let alone anytging else! :)

Well I'm on cd17 today and have had some definite crampy pains and ewcm over the last two days.....I can't believe I'd be lucky enough to ov just two weeks after stopping the pill (mid-pack!), and even if I did ov, the last chance we had to dtd was Tuesday so chances of having caught any eggy are slim at best I think.

[cd update brought to you by the fab iPeriod app as recommended by queenoftherodeo......who I keep wanting to call queenofthestoneage lol]

Am looking forward to the next POAS update from bugsy - where is she?!

mrsbugsywugsy · 21/05/2012 13:03

I'm here!

I've handed my essay in today (HOORAY!!!) and stopped off at the supermarket and bought an extortionately priced clearblue digital test. It says it's best to use first urine of the day so I think I'm going to have to hold out... Tis tempting to do it anyway but I have been drinking loads of water (still desperately thirsty) and if I got a negative, which turned out to be wrong, I would have the heartbreak for nothing and the bloody things are too expensive to waste

fx for red

Nicola how exciting! Personally I think it would be lovely to have a 'secret extra guest' at your wedding! Someone I know got married with a big bump and she just looked radiant, like some kind of fertility goddess (although I don't know how happy she felt being the only one not smashed on champagne!)

queen I know how you feel, I waver between desperately wanting a baby and absolute terror at the idea of being responsible for a tiny little life.

redstrawberry · 21/05/2012 13:40

fx for you too bugsy keep us posted, loving the updates. Seeing as they are so expensive, it might be best to wait till FMU tomorrow. Then you will be giving it your erm...best shot!

well done on handing your essay in :)

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 13:48

I have spent the day badgering H2B for a baby! :-)

I think he's clicked how desperate I am!

Pinkie29 · 21/05/2012 14:35

Damnit no smiley! But there is a faint second line still! Hoping I haven't missed it here's me getting all hopeful the vitex has helped after 15 days!

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 14:43

Ooh....exciting for you Pinkie :-)

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 18:18

Well...after chatting this afternoon it seems both H2B and I are scared and excited about the TTC plans. Seems like such a huge step!

Just want the bloody pill to bugger off out of my system now. Want to get going!

Pinkie29 · 21/05/2012 18:57

nicola I'm the same as much as I want my bfp I know when i get it I'll be like ahhhh now what do we do?! Dp on the other hand can't wait!

I've never been the maternal caring type awful as that sounds Confused
