TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Sorry Leftwing. Smile I only worry about that sometime! Grin I mostly think is going to be perfect! :-)

QueenOfTheDrama · 05/06/2012 21:11

If I took a year off work I don't think I'd ever want to go back! It would be amazing though Smile I really worry about work stupidly, there's some aspects of my job that I won't be able to do when pg and I think that that time coupled with the time off on maternity may mean that when I go back I'll be completely out of the loop and won't remember how to do my job! Blush

Hope H2B's interview goes well nicola Smile

DulcetMoans · 05/06/2012 21:20

Aw, nice to hear some of the concerns are the same! Our maternity package is similar to pinkie luckily, but i'm worried about what I will say to them and someone covering me whilst on maternity. How silly is that?! Hoping that won't even cross my mind once there is a baby to concentrate on!

And, obviously getting it out is a major worry that will take my attention as soon as I am pregnant!

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 21:21

I think I'd get bored with a year off, which is why I'm not the one offering to give up work!

Thank you Queen, he really needs this. :-)

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 21:45

An interview? Oh good luck! My dp has one too hopefully not in the same place!

Kittenkatzen · 05/06/2012 22:05

Ooh yes, good luck for the interview nicola's H2B! Smile

I have a crap maternity package too, just statutory until you've been there for 3 fecking years! Shock and seeing as that's 2 years away I'm perversely hoping to miss out on the enhanced package.

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 22:19

Ooh...thank you and good luck to your DP tomorrow Pinkie! And thank you Kitten too.

Apparently our maternity pay is better after some time. Not sure how long and positive I won't qualify as I've only done 2 years next month!

Tight employers. :-(

Newbie2 · 05/06/2012 22:53

Hello,

I'm new on here but this thread caught my eye. I'm newly married 31 and DH is 34. We've started TTC this month. As I'm eager And keen I've brought a ton of OV sticks from Superdrug and I'm testing like mad. I don't think I've OV yet as I'm not sure the Yasmin pill has even left my body yet. All early days! Anyone else testing daily with the ov sticks? X

Newbie2 · 05/06/2012 22:56

By the way I just wanted to say that Wilkonsons do a pregnancy test for £4! It's a pretty easy one too. And yes I am that person who is that desperate that I felt a slight twinge and did a test (sad I know)!!

QueenOfTheDrama · 05/06/2012 23:02

Welcome newbie Smile no not using ov sticks, have tried them in previous months but they weren't really working for me. Just plain old dtd this month I'm afraid! Is this your first cycle TTC then? Where are you up to in your cycle?

Good luck to pinkie's dp too Smile

Pinkie29 · 06/06/2012 05:32

Welcome newbie Smile I'm a peeing on a stick addict hehe, got all mine from eBay!

NicolaHazel · 06/06/2012 05:54

Hi Newbie.

No sticks here, CD16 on first cycle post-pill, so seeing how it goes for a while before charting too much. Then I'll go stick mad, ha ha!

Popinda · 06/06/2012 06:54

Hi Newbie, I started to use stick yesterday for the first time and already addicted! Grin This is our second months of ttc. I also was on Yasmin, for 10 years. Stop last August and my period got to normal immediately! When did you stop taking pill?
Btw amazon sells very cheap pregnancy tests! 25 for just over £3 and ov sticks 50 for £7.90 I think. I got those and they seem to work fine.

EchoDragon · 06/06/2012 07:11

Hi newbie

[Glares] at Popinda for daring to have a normal cycle. Day 48 of cycle. [Stomps feet and generally sulks]

WTF is my body playing at. Couldn't even order the sodding Vitex. As stupid moo that I am managed to loose my debit card over the weekend. Ensue 5 day wait for new one.

Think I need Wine and [huge box of chocolates].

Roll on June's BFPs

Pinkie29 · 06/06/2012 07:33

pinkie :o:o:o

I narrowly resisted the urge to scream when I saw your news. How fab for you.

Popinda · 06/06/2012 07:53

Congrats pinkie! GrinGrinGrin such a good news! Smile
Echo- sorry to hear about your credit card! It's always a bummer! Sad

Kittenkatzen · 06/06/2012 08:05

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin pinkie, congratulations!! SO happy for you!! How are you feeling?!

Welcome newbie Smile

echo 48 days? SadSad fx for either a bfp or AF for you very soon

purplefairies · 06/06/2012 08:06

Wow!! Congratulations to pinkie! How exciting!!

I'm still having my weird pill withdrawal or whatever symptoms. I didn't feel sick yesterday and started having AF-type cramps, but now this morning I feel so sick and light-headed again. Also still suffering from thrush (sorry if TMI) though, so maybe that's making me feel off.....

I'm off on hols next week so hope to forget about all possible symptoms until I'm back. I should definitely have had AF by then (although it's my first cycle off the pill, so who knows).

Hope to see lots more BFPs on this thread soon!!

Pinkie29 · 06/06/2012 08:10

Thanks ladies Smilehoping I can relax a bit now, going ring the doc later eeek!

Smile87 · 06/06/2012 08:10

We're both 25, ttc number one. Congrats on your pg. took a test this morning and was negetive :( but could be too early. Going to keep going. Got dr's appt on Friday as been trying for two years with no luck.

Pinkie29 · 06/06/2012 08:14

Kitten I think I'm in shock if I'm honest, when I see the doc I'll be able to ask all about my anxiety probs hopefully they'll put my mind at rest Smile

Pinkie29 · 06/06/2012 08:16

Smile keep testing and good luck at the docs, if there is as issue you'll get all the help you need, welcome also Smile

EchoDragon · 06/06/2012 08:52

Yeah 48 days. Had a normalish period mid April. Then had my implant out mid May. Had to wait for appointment to see doc at CSH as they were worried it was a deep removal.

Expected AF mid to late May she is still resolutely refusing to turn up. Unsure if I have ov'd as implant suppresses this. Have had two BFN one this week and one last.

Am just Confused

It does apparently take 2 to 3 weeks to get all hormones out of system but it isn't helping me not to symptom spot.

EchoDragon · 06/06/2012 08:55

When's every one testing this month.
I'm starting a stats list.

Echodragon TTC no 1 cycle 1 AF expected whenever she feels like crashing my party.
