TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Hi smile welcome. Sorry to hear about your BFN also sorry to hear it's taking so long for you guys.

Hopefully the doctors will give you some clear answers as to why.

Popinda · 06/06/2012 09:26

I'll be testing on 23.06. long way to go! Fx! Grin in theory that would 11 dpo, let's see if my ov sticks agree with my chart. Grin

Newbie2 · 06/06/2012 09:31

Thank you for all saying hello! This is the first TTC forum that has actually acknowledged me so that is nice and I'm desperate to share this odd TTC experience with someone else other then my DH! I don't know about you all but if I talk too much with DH it stresses him out so I'm trying to act all cool about it :)

Congratulations Pinkie you give us all hope!

For those of you asking. I came off the Yasmin pill on 10th May and then had a fake period on 14th May to 19th as normal. So now I guess I'm waiting for my first real AF so that I can work out my cycles. In the meantime because I have no patience I started doing OV sticks 10 days ago. I didn't realise you had to have a cycle before starting using them and now well I may as well keep using them lol. At the same time I'm still doing the BD just in case the stick is wrong! Oh and because I didn't realise you can get weird withdrawal symptoms from the pill I thought I was pregnant for a second so I took a test last week but that was neg :(

So that's where I'm at in a nutshell!

Newbie2 · 06/06/2012 09:45

Looking at my dates written down I guess my body only thinks I've been off the pill for 2 weeks so that is not very long at all! Perhaps I'm being too inpatient :)

Kittenkatzen · 06/06/2012 09:55

echo for your stats list, AF if due for me on 28th, but I WILL NOT TEST before the 30th as this is only cycle 2 off the pill :)

newbie yes we are a friendly bunch here (have only been here a month/6 weeks myself!) and there a quite a few of us hiding secret ttc obsessions from our OHs :o mine is firmly of the "it'll happen when it happens" camp!

oh, and to give you a little bit of hope for your post-pill cycles - I stopped taking microgynon after 14 years at the beginning of May, and AF showed up right on time 27 days later! So try not to worry and just enjoy your first month of dtd contraception free! :o

Newbie2 · 06/06/2012 10:04

Kitten - thanks for your advice and sharing tips!

Do you think I should stop the OV sticks until after AF arrives? I'm getting the impression you can't actually ovulate until your cycle returns anyway so I could be wasting time and money and causing unnecessary anxiety.

KickingUpQuestions · 06/06/2012 10:06

We're all barmy as well.

Just keep being patient. It could happen immediately and it could happen in a year. But if you expect it to happen every month, you'll soon drive yourself dilly.

I don't even think I am going to bother testing this month.

sazzababs · 06/06/2012 10:10

Yay Pinkie!! Dances around her coffee table

sazzababs · 06/06/2012 10:11

Spooooo, doing asterisks makes text bold XD

Pinkie29 · 06/06/2012 10:29

Haha cheers sazza!

impatiently awaiting call from midwife

Newbie2 · 06/06/2012 10:33

Pinkie why would you get a call from midwife so early on? Do you not get a doctors appt first? Hope you don't mind me asking I'm just interested in what lies ahead!

purplecorduroy · 06/06/2012 10:43

Hello, I'd like to join you! I'm onto cycle 5 of TTC for the first time, having just got my period today. I've convinced myself I'm pregnant each month so far and it's not doing my sanity any good. www.mumsnet.com/te/11.gif In the last 6 months my cycle length has ranged from 24 to 28 days. I'll therefore be testing next on Wed 4th July is AF doesn't arrive before.

KickingUpQuestions · 06/06/2012 10:46

You should join the "no symptoms. no google. no sticks." thread.

I have been trying for about 9 months, been preparing for over a year and still nothing (apart from a chemical pregnancy in December).

Every month I read those UTTER BS "early pregnancy symptoms" but the one thing they fail to mention is that those only start from about week 4.

I am glad to say that due to excess thirst this month and last month, I don't even care about testing because I am up peeing for every hour all night.

Good luck! :)

DulcetMoans · 06/06/2012 11:19

Yay pinkie!! So glad you got the BFP! Congratulations to you both! I'm interested to know what happens next as well so please keep us in the loop!

Welcome newbie2! This is a nice thread to get yourself stuck in, i've not been around long either but I think this is my fav. A good place to raise all those questions you don't want to ask at home!

purplefairies · 06/06/2012 11:22

I won't be testing until around June 23rd either - unless AF turns up by then. That would be about 4-5 weeks since I think I ovulated (obviously, "ovulation pain" could just have been wind, and I don't have a clue what my cycle is after so long on the pill....so)

Pinkie29 · 06/06/2012 11:33

Newbie/dulcet when I rang I basically said to the receptionist just found out etc and she said 'are you happy with the pregnancy' said yes and she says you'll have a call from the midwife then not the doc and she'll book you in for an appointment Smile

sazzababs · 06/06/2012 11:38

I'm still in a wee bit of denial despite the (now) 4 BFPs, so I am going to test with a digital on Fri then get the ball rolling :D

Pinkie29 · 06/06/2012 11:45

Congrats sazza did I miss that?!

I've probably done about 10 Internet tests and an Asda test before my clearblue!

Newbie2 · 06/06/2012 11:46

Pinkie - wow exciting :)

What does BPF stand for?

KickingUpQuestions · 06/06/2012 11:54

BIG FAT POSITIVE Grin

purplecorduroy · 06/06/2012 11:54

Big Fat Positive, I think - positive pregnancy test :)

Newbie2 · 06/06/2012 12:07

Oh I see :) thanks for explaining

NicolaHazel · 06/06/2012 12:09

Ooh...how busy are we today?!

Congrats again Pinkie! :-)

Hi to all the newbies...sorry I've not committed names to memory as Ice been skim reading at work. It is mental at work too :-(

TMI alert...LOADS of CM today. Not sure if EWCM though.

And you can ovulate first month off the pill as some DO get pregnant instantly! Would be nice to think some of us bounce into pregnancy. :-)

DulcetMoans · 06/06/2012 12:19

Did I read on here something about hyper fertility following a long time on the pill? I don't remember where I read that!

Welcome purplcorduroy! Sorry to missed you above! Sounds like you have a bit of a wait before testing but Fx!
