TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

I got them as well. They good. Grin

Popinda · 05/06/2012 16:52

I also order ov test from the same company, so fx for this months. Grin

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 17:03

I'm not going down the OV route yet...get the first few cycles out of the way, and see if I need to chart that kind of thing. I'm trying to conceive in a relaxed, non-charting way (for now!).

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 17:05

Nicola try eBay for cheapies i got 50 for a few quid!

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 17:06

Ahhh...really? I'm hoping to not need 50 though!

If I get through the 15 I've got coming to me, I'll go to eBay next :-)

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 17:25

Are we talking ov sticks? I sometimes used two a day but that was because I was so unsure of my cycles Imagine with a shorter cycle and knowing roughly when you ov you'd use much less, last cycle I tested from cd10 - cd28 sometimes twice a day Grin

Popinda · 05/06/2012 17:47

Ov sticks from amazon are very cheap too. 50 for £7.90. Let's hope they work. Grin
Reason I bought ov sticks is that I just want to know if and when I ov. Smile
Nicola - relax way to ttc is not easy! Grin I have been trying to be relax about it, believe me! Grin may was out first month to ttc and I was completely obsess with getting pg! I have been symptom spotting like crazy last month! I even made myself believe that I'm pg! HmmConfused That prob why my af was late! I'm not obsess this month as much as I was last month, but still very bad!
I'm actually more scared now I now there is a possibility I could be pg!
Good luck to all of us this month and baby dust coming to this tread. Grin and some BiscuitBiscuitBiscuit Grin

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 18:08

Pop I'm very scared now Sad hoping it subsides soon!

Popinda · 05/06/2012 18:52

Pinkie - I can imagine! I'm scared just thinking about it! Smile but don't worry soon you will be buying Bear and other baby related things and that's going to be so exciting! Very happy for you! Grin let's hope the BFP will be coming this month! Smile
Have you tested again?

QueenOfTheDrama · 05/06/2012 19:10

Its normal to feel scared I think, I am and I'm not even pg yet Smile

I've just had a mental moment - made chilli and swore it tasted like cinnamon, and I hate cinnamon! I asked DH if he could taste it too and he said not. Then I was like funny tastes - symptom?! Then promptly told myself to get a fucking grip. Grin

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 19:13

Ha ha...I like how we all give ourselves a good talking to all the time! :-)

QueenOfTheDrama · 05/06/2012 19:22

I think we have to nicola or we'd drive ourselves insane!!

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 19:24

Pop I tested again this morning and the line was definitely darker assuming that's the hcg increasing? I've got a pack of 2 cb digitals (boots £10.99) going to do one on sat.

It's weird I never thought I'd feel like this I'm terrified something will go wrong even tho I've no reason to think that?

DulcetMoans · 05/06/2012 20:22

Same as queen, scared and not even pregnant yet. Deciding to officially start TTC made all sorts of worries pop up! Currently I'm mainly worried about work and maternity, weirdly!

Hopefully the worry subsides for us all eventually! It is a massive thing so it makes sense to worry a bit!

redstrawberry · 05/06/2012 20:23

It's looking good Pinkie :)

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 20:34

I'm really worried about the pregnancy lasting / the baby's health.

But work and maternity are also huge things.

But yes, would be something wrong if we weren't apprehensive at least, let alone scared. (Group hug! x)

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 20:42

Yay for group hugs Smile

Oddly I'm not worried about work were very lucky and have a good maternity package and get up to a year off last 3 months unpaid tho, will also probably have the option to go part time afterwards

Leftwingharpie · 05/06/2012 20:43

Group hug?! Is that allowed?? Grin

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 20:47

We have a shit maternity package...bare minimum statutory pay. W00t!

I won't be taking long off, partly as we can't afford it and partly because if I get pregnant soon ish it will interrupt my training contract, and I want to get qualified ASAP!

Group hugs are very allowed...especially as we're all emotional and / or scared right now!

Popinda · 05/06/2012 20:50

I'm worried about the baby's not being healthy, me mc or how is it going to fit into our life's, my job, childcare, money ect. ect. I also keep thinking (this is going to sound silly and shallow) what if the baby going to be ugly or unhappy when it's older. What if it's a weirdo and doesn't fit in? What if its get picked on or bullied? I know it sounds terrible! Worried about bringing child into this world! Does anyone else worries about a similar think or is it just me being silly?

On more positive note I also do believe that once I'm pg my pregnancy is going to be easy exciting, no morning sickness, no stretch marks, nice bump, very easy labour (about 2hours), easy birth and perfect baby at the end with a perfect life! Grin cheers to that. Grin

Popinda · 05/06/2012 20:51

What about Childcare once you back at work?

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 20:54

Either nursery or H2B will give up work...need to do the maths as and when!

I'll be the higher earner, so I won't leave work. :-/

Leftwingharpie · 05/06/2012 20:55

Popinda now I have a load of extra worries I hadn't thought of!

Pinkie29 · 05/06/2012 20:56

Ours is 3 months full 3 months half and 3 months quarter then 3 months nothing, will work it out as and when we have to tho dp doesn't think I'd manage a year off work haha!

NicolaHazel · 05/06/2012 21:02

I'm coming to work with you, ha ha!

Yeah, we will do the maths when necessary. H2B has an interview tomorrow, so got to get that first!
