TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Yep I'm off to do a naked fertility dance for us all and ward off the evils of af! Grin

Kittenkatzen · 01/06/2012 07:19

Right, this will be the one and only time you'll ever hear me say this......

AF arrived, wooohooooo!!!

So, after 14 years on the pill, which was then unceremoniously ditched mid pack.....a pretty much perfect 27 day cycle and MY BODY STILL WORKS YAY!! :o

So, onwards with cycle 2, and a nice set of June BFPs for all of us please :)

NicolaHazel · 01/06/2012 07:49

Yay Kitten, so pleased for you!! However odd that sounds :-)

Fingers crossed I can follow suit in a couple of weeks.

KickingUpQuestions · 01/06/2012 08:30

I can't do humpage like this for very long! Tiring!!

Pinkie29 · 01/06/2012 09:30

Well done kitten Grin

Kittenkatzen · 01/06/2012 09:45

Thanks girls....am pleased I seem to be in working order....and VERY pleased I'll be able to take full advantage of the beer festival tomorrow :D

fingers crossed for you nicola!

:o kicking....all those "humphumphump" texts....made a rod for your own back have you?!

KickingUpQuestions · 01/06/2012 09:55

I've got a bee in my bonnet to DTD as often as possible! But DH doesn't need that much encouragement. I asked him last night if he found it difficult and he got this innocent, angelic look on his face when he said..."it's for a baby, my love".

I was like...."bullshit sir humpalot"

MissMedusa · 01/06/2012 14:32

What if there are male factor issues? My DH has a high sperm count but low motility. Would this kind of thing be helped or hindered by SWI every day?

MissMedusa · 01/06/2012 14:40

Sorry, meant that to go on another thread.

QueenOfTheDrama · 02/06/2012 10:09

Yay kitten thats great that you know where you're up to with cycles etc now. Have fun at the beer festival Grin

haha kicking your DH sounds funny. My DH hasn't had this much action in years, if he dared to complain I'd kill him - only I'm allowed to moan!

lol @ pinkie - naked fertility dance Grin

Popinda · 02/06/2012 10:31

Anyone doing anything nice over the looong bank holiday weekend?

Pinkie29 · 02/06/2012 11:04

Queen if we all do it it can't fail!

Pop I'm off for another lengthy bike ride while dp does man stuff then out for dinner with the rents tonight, got a few things going on in town Monday so will pop out for that

EchoDragon · 02/06/2012 11:15

Hi all

:o at pinks naked fertility dance. Might want to do that in private tho.

Know what you all mean about DTD. Needed to last night but both too tired so went to bed instead.

Good news on AF for you kitten

Fx for you Nicola.

Am still waiting for the witch to turn up. 6 weeks and counting now. Have never had a cycle this long yet. POAS on Wednesday just to check. BFN sob. Never thought I'd see the day i'm wishing the witch to appear. Grr.

NicolaHazel · 02/06/2012 11:22

We so rarely DTD at night...weekend mornings are the most usual times, though I have started to lure him to bed a bit early on a Weds night!

Not sure I'll ever manage to do it every day! Hoping what we do now will be enough :-)

I keep feeling all sorts of pains and cramps, but really trying to ignore them and not get my hopes up. Though also hoping for rebound fertility, like my mum had both times!

Just trying to remain calm and non-obsessed! Not easy.

EchoDragon · 02/06/2012 11:52

Have define been symptom spotting. However I am well aware it's probably go to contraception stopping and fact my cycles have not been anything like normal for the last few years. Still a tiny.bit of me hopes for a BFP on my first cycle TTC.

NicolaHazel · 02/06/2012 12:02

Exactly...rational me says just to do with finishing the pill.

Irrational (normal!) me thinks ovulation etc!

And is anyone else scared shitless now TTC is a reality? I really want a baby, but am now agonising over whether I'm doing the right thing!

Anyone got any relaxation techniques to stop me going mental over this?!

QueenOfTheDrama · 02/06/2012 12:30

nicola - I'm scared too! Although we really want to have a family the thought that your whole life is about to change and you're going to be responsible for this little person is terrifying! I think its normal to feel like that though!

Leftwingharpie · 02/06/2012 13:25

Yes I'm scared too and I've been waiting for this for so long! So many people seem to take it completely in their stride as though they are planning to get a goldfish or something!

Popinda · 02/06/2012 17:15

I feel the same! Totally scared! Last month when I made myself believe that I'm pg (and I wasn't) I actually panicked about it! It's so scary to be responsible for that little life! And everything else that comes with it! So glad I'm not the only one being scared!

Popinda · 02/06/2012 17:16

Pinkie - did you enjoyed your bike ride?

KickingUpQuestions · 02/06/2012 20:01

I was scared. I was terrified. But now, 9months on i just want a baby.

The fear will no doubt return when i find out i am pregnant

when...

MumOfTwoCats · 02/06/2012 21:51

Hi, may I join? TTC#1. 3 months in.

Just read some recent posts about feeling scared of the reality of a baby. I`m the same!

I keep having moments thinking 'I would be able to do this when we have a baby'. When popping to the shops or off for the weekend. From friends who have babies it`s so much more work with a little one!

Pinkie29 · 02/06/2012 21:54

Was great pop cheers, only managed ten mines today tho! Back out tomorrow! Welcome mumoftwocats Wine love the name!

MumOfTwoCats · 02/06/2012 22:10

Thanks for the Wine Pinkie.

I can see we'll get on well!Trying not to drive myself crazy with forbidding wine and red meat when I may not even by pg.

Enjoying a class of cold white wine and a movie with DH tonight.

Pinkie29 · 02/06/2012 22:48

I've failed then as had steak earlier :/

Ahhh I fed my 8 week old niece this evening and my mum had to show me how to wind her! Smile
