TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Actually, it obviously started off with only one fibroid that was "the size of a grapefruit" but they fruit cakes left it for so long that it doubled in size and grew another one...

KickingUpQuestions · 30/05/2012 10:07

What is a dermoid?

Pinkie29 · 30/05/2012 10:23

That's terrible kicking Sad how that kind of haemorrhaging isn't considered life threatening is anyone's guess!!

KickingUpQuestions · 30/05/2012 10:28

It's not a moan really. Just something that happened in the past

It's just one of those things that I battle with. I am healthy and I've looked after my body and all that and I still had mounds of shit. I am sure a lot of women have had the same.

So it does tend to make me a bit bitter :D

MissMedusa · 30/05/2012 11:46

It's a type of cyst but it contains really disgusting stuff:

From wiki:

"A dermoid cyst is a cystic teratoma that contains developmentally mature skin complete with hair follicles and sweat glands, sometimes clumps of long hair, and often pockets of sebum, blood, fat, bone, nails, teeth, eyes, cartilage, and thyroid tissue."

Sexy, eh?

KickingUpQuestions · 30/05/2012 11:50

Where was it?

Very sexy indeed!!! :)

But its gone now at least

MissMedusa · 30/05/2012 11:51

On my ovary.

KickingUpQuestions · 30/05/2012 11:55

Youch ok. Sounds sore!

Pinkie29 · 30/05/2012 12:12

Teeth?! How?! Ouch!!

MissMedusa · 30/05/2012 12:20

From what I understand it's basically stem cells that can develop and mature into any kind of tissue. Surprisingly they're not uncommon.

KickingUpQuestions · 30/05/2012 14:36

Shew that's very hectic though.

I suppose its where the research starts from about potentially growing organs and human bits and stuff

Kittenkatzen · 30/05/2012 15:48

Wow Medusa you poor thing that sounds hideous - teeth on your ovary

But like kicking said, underneath the grimness it is actually also quite interesting in a weird kind of way....

Popinda · 30/05/2012 15:58

No idea what you ladies talking about, but it sounds gross. Hmm

QueenOfTheDrama · 30/05/2012 16:32

Oh my god, you lot have been through a lot. Like someone else pointed out further up, its scary just how common these things are.

Popinda · 30/05/2012 16:40

*grose (I think that's the correct spelling) Smile

KickingUpQuestions · 30/05/2012 18:34

I may be wrong but i think its inappropriate to say "gross" (correct spelling included)

Popinda · 30/05/2012 20:08

Kicking - wasn't meant to be offensive! Sad Sorry if it was! Didn't mean it like that! Sad

MissMedusa · 31/05/2012 08:21

No worries, it is kind of gross, I was pretty shocked when I read up on it. I never saw it or asked what was in it but most likely it will have just been filled with fat cells but I kind of liked the idea of having an evil twin living inside me who I could blame when I did bad things. DH and I had a running joke about it whenever chocolates went missing or things got broken.

Anyway, no AF today. Grrrrr.

MissMedusa · 31/05/2012 09:51

Spoke too soon, AF arrived. Woohoo!

That means I had a perfectly respectible 29 day cycle. Very happy to have a fresh new cycle going, fx something good will happen this month.

KickingUpQuestions · 31/05/2012 10:35

Yay on the perfect cycle!!! :)

Pinkie29 · 31/05/2012 11:12

Evil twin love it! I blame the cat when things go missing/broken Smile

KickingUpQuestions · 31/05/2012 11:28

I blame DH

Always right too

I bet that's why he wants a baby ;)

QueenOfTheDrama · 31/05/2012 15:55

I blame DH too, he blames the dog Smile

Congrats on af arriving medusa (never thought I'd say that!)

EllieBuffalo · 31/05/2012 21:29

medusa hopefully that's the last AF we see on this thread Grin

KickingUpQuestions · 31/05/2012 23:05
