TTC first baby

cwtching · 27/04/2012 12:20

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

kicking your DH sounds generally brilliant in my opinion :)

oh crap crap crap i think i just got caught MNing at work ConfusedConfused....a colleague just crept up behind me unannounced and I turned to find them staring over my shoulder (er - rude!) at "TTC First Baby" at the top of the screen. Bugger. Oh well at least it wasn't my boss.

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 15:11

I do like him Grin

Have you tried to have a small window for MN? I use MN in my Safari browers and have it really small in one corner of my monitor...

Kittenkatzen · 28/05/2012 15:19

yeah that's what I do, normally I'm quite good at the old Alt+Tab flick to the window behind but I just didn't hear her coming this time. That'll give them something to gossip about in the kitchen!

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 15:22

HA and the chat box in my other corner. I must say that Macs are better at not working and hiding stuff than PC's are

I always said that Macs were for people who needed a computer with a whole bunch of extras, while PC is for people who just need to work

EllieBuffalo · 28/05/2012 16:02

Oh no kitten, I got caught once so just went on about how much I help my SIL out with my niece like looking for info on the net as she never gets time Smile

I'm also lucky to have a great DH, he doesn't want to know the science behind it, just tell him when we need to DTD. It's fair to say he's excited though, last night was our first without contraception and after he even tried to put my legs in the air with a pillow under my bottom!! He's convinced we're goin to struggle to conceive so wants to help where ever he can GrinGrin

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 16:04

HA Ellie - mine does the same.

He is going to bring the TV into the room tonight so I can stick my legs in the air for a while. He would even cook to give me time to winkle Grin

He liked the science behind it until it drove me up the wall.

Cycle number 9 now so we are going for the relaxed way!

Pinkie29 · 28/05/2012 16:13

Oh how nosey kitten I hate it when ppl do that!! I use my iPhone app

Pinkie29 · 28/05/2012 16:17

dragon when i first read about Angus Castus i honestly thought too good to be true but I'm convinced it's helped me done women say it takes a few months others say it worked first month and they got pg! This is the first cycle since coming off the pill I've not had aching boobs and been a general emo mess (so far apart from my mini meltdown last week!)

QueenOfTheDrama · 28/05/2012 17:12

echo & kitten my DH is exactly the same, "it will happen when it happens" according to him. He's right of course but then he's also a lot more patient than I am!

Luckily the computers at my work monitor our activity and as such I don't use them for MN - just as well or I'd never get anything done!

Sorry that af finally got you popinda - good luck for June x

NicolaHazel · 28/05/2012 17:49

I use my phone for sneaky MN perusal :-)

Now to decide what my crazy body is doing!

Kittenkatzen · 28/05/2012 18:05

Yeah I know I should use my phone but I always seem to start tapping away on it as my boss walks in....at least online I can (usually) pretend to be working!

:o at kicking watching tv with her legs in the air! :o

EchoDragon · 29/05/2012 07:00

Sounds like we've all got great DH. Mine is excited and he has even spoken to the boys about us TTC. The boys being his mates from our circle of coupley friends who are all either pg or TTC like us. It was nice to hear from my friend he's telling them. Even tho we're keeping it quiet Hmm

I use MN on my phone. Tho my OH is starting to wonder what i'm doing. Cause I can spend ages on MN in an evening. It's easier to hide what sites I go on on my phone.

NicolaHazel · 29/05/2012 07:20

I was hiding my MN habit until I left the 'Conception' page open on the laptop he then used yesterday! Fail. :-)

He doesn't say much about TTC but I know he really wants a baby, which is the main thing. I think he's leaving me to do what's best!

As long as he takes the zinc tablets coming with the shopping this week I don't mind.

Fay30 · 29/05/2012 08:58

Well were still trying.
I feel quite down some days.
I get regular cycles between 30 days and 31 days.
I also see the LH level on the pee sticks, develop into double lines, showing ovulation.
We know he has slow swimmers, as a result of a vasectomy reversal, but we keep trying any way.
I will be 31 this September, he's a lot older with kids from previous marriage.
We have decided if we don't have a positive by then, (my birthday) then were' off to the test tube hospital.
We have tried for 2 years by this July

Fay.

KickingUpQuestions · 29/05/2012 08:58

My DH asked me what I was doing once. We'd just DTD and I was worried than I had done the winkle for an hour but then gone to the loo.

He came in when I was saying "I went to loo".

His reaction was "roll eyes and ask no more".

He definitely encouraged me more last night. I would have happily gone to sleep and not DTD. I keep reminding myself that we do need to DTD virtually every day for the next week or so. Getting tired of it now!!

KickingUpQuestions · 29/05/2012 09:05

Also, we definitely missed OV before.

Every month up until now, we DTD manically after AF for about 10 days. Then we taper off and slow down. I feel like that now - like we need to taper off a bit.

But according to the ovulation calculator, my fertile week is the 1 - 7 June so we've not even started it yet!!

I reckon we've missed OV for every month before.

Kittenkatzen · 29/05/2012 10:21

:o nicola at your laptop fail - did he say anything to you or just roll his eyes like kickings DH?! Mine just laughs at me - he calls MN my "PMS forum" or, if he's feeling particularly delightful, my "mucous forum" :o

fay so sorry you're having such a hard time Thanks fingers crossed his swimmers overhear the threat of a clinic visit and perk themselves up a bit before September.

NicolaHazel · 29/05/2012 11:05

Kitten he didn't say anything. I noticed the page was open last night after I got home and he was alone when he saw it!

Bless him, he's very calm about all this. :-)

Pinkie29 · 29/05/2012 12:39

Arrrggghh! Is it just my town centre that is heaving with pregnant (teens mostly) and women with buggies etc and a tribe of kids??!

Kittenkatzen · 29/05/2012 13:36

no pinkie i can categorically state that the ENTIRE female population of central London is also pregnant or pushing a buggy!

EllieBuffalo · 29/05/2012 13:42

Also, it seems like every commercial break at the moment contains clear blue ads! It's my first month of TTC and it's getting my hopes up unnecessarily as I keep thinking that "I can't wait until I get a BFP"!!!! Sad

KickingUpQuestions · 29/05/2012 13:53

No kitten

I am also in London and I agree - every women here (apart from you and I) is pregnant or with child. Pushing those fancy Stokke prams along that my DH says are "not worth £600". I will totally get those though :D

I hate that "What to expect" movie that's out. I heard some of the movie outline and it's DEPRESSING

Kittenkatzen · 29/05/2012 14:33

oh yeah the film - I've been avoiding all trailers for it and spit venom every time a bus drives past with a poster on the side!

EchoDragon · 29/05/2012 14:37

pink kitten kicking completely get what you mean. Was in Tesco's this morning every second woman had a baby. Was starting to get really Grr.

EchoDragon · 29/05/2012 14:43

Would quite like to see the film. [ducks]

I think husbands must be pre programmed to ignore our more outrageous TTC related behaviour. If mine didn't we'd probably never have kids.
