TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Oh popinda, sorry the witch finally caught up with you :( still, that means its the start of a brand new cycle for you, and maybe this will be the lucky one!

Hey everyone, hope you all had lovely lovely weekends in the sunshine :) SO do t want to be going to work today!

Well I'm on CD24 after stopping the pill and have been feeling slightly crampy/irritable/AF-y for a couple of days so of you all wouldn't mind sending proper AF vibes my way please that would be great! Thy way I can have a proper cycle under my belt and some idea of what we're working with here :):)

ellie hope you managed to fit in your surreptitious JS round your friends house!

NicolaHazel · 28/05/2012 07:31

That's a pain, Popinda. Good luck for next month :-)

And getting a regular cycle is great, Kitten. Like you say, if you're not pregnant it'll be useful to know where you are!

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 07:55

Back luck pop. I have learnt that there aren't any symptoms and its actually not common to have a positive after AF. 98% of women get a positive on day of AF.

Fingers crossed for June and feel free to throw practicality at me in 10days time :)

EchoDragon · 28/05/2012 09:32

Ah sorry to hear that pop.

Wine Flowers and fx for June.

Also fx for all of us who have irregular cycles that they blooming well sort themselves out.

EchoDragon · 28/05/2012 09:33

Oops meant Thanks

NicolaHazel · 28/05/2012 10:41

What?! Slight spotting and cramps already? Only had withdrawal ERTD last week so not sure what my body thinks it's up to. :-/

Pinkie29 · 28/05/2012 10:46

Oh pop Sad boo to the old witch!

I know I keep bleating on about Angus Castus/Vitex but I swear this sorted my 6 week cycle down to a 4 week, I also took epo up until ov and usually my boobs are extremely tender from ov till to af but nothing this month Smile

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 10:47

It could be OV but it could also be your body just trying to get used to itself again :)

Are you doing OV tests?

What CD are you?

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 10:48

Mebbe it's a sign, Pink Grin

I have gone back to ignoring all my body's signs. I have no idea when I am supposed to OV or anything and every time i feel a cramp, I tell myself its wind

Grin
NicolaHazel · 28/05/2012 10:57

No, no OV tests...wouldn't expect that yet!

Only CD 6!!

Think I'm adjusting. Quite fast!

EllieBuffalo · 28/05/2012 11:02

Sorry Pop Hopefully we'll all be in sync for BFP's in June.

kitten unusually I am sending AF vibes to you, at least once that's complete you can start TTC properly.

I wasn't brave enough to DTD at friends on Sat but we finally started last night. I'm not fully tuned into my cycle yet as this is our first month but we're trying the 'every other day' method first so I'm on CD08 and just trying to ensure I have a consistent supply for when I do OV Smile

Pinkie29 · 28/05/2012 11:04

I'm not evening letting myself get hopeful haha! Will remain chilled out till af (or my bfp) arrived Grin

She's due June 6th which will be 14dpo I'd like to keep it quiet till fathers day i am (must stop wishful thinking!)

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 11:04

CD 6 could more than likely be the end of the AF cycle as well?

I get spotting for 2 or 3 days after AF

NicolaHazel · 28/05/2012 11:06

Could be, but not normal for me at all.

Got CM too.

Hmmm!

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 11:10

Is it EWCM?

You do have increased amount of CM from after AF to OV.

But if you google EWCM, you can find out how to test it and see when you're fertile.

Remember that if you've been on the pill, nothing is 'normal' for you anymore. You have been taking hormones to control this process so whatever you think is 'normal' isn't. The pill keeps the bleed down to 3 - 5 days, whereas naturally, you should have AF for 5 - 7 days. Also, withdrawal may take longer than a normal AF.

NicolaHazel · 28/05/2012 11:14

It seems to be.

And you're right, normal hasn't arrived yet. But I wouldn't expect cramps with spotting either. And I was always a short ERTD kind of girl pre-pill etc too.

Just have to take each day as it comes, I suppose!

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 11:19

I was on the pill for about 5 months last year. And 3 months the year before that. I found that I was much longer before the pill (up to 10 days) and now am about 6 -7 days long.

I think the hormones can calm down quite quickly but just remember that each of us has about a 20% chance per cycle of falling pregnant.

Welcome to the world of trying!

Kittenkatzen · 28/05/2012 11:47

I'm liking all the chilled out vibes on this thread today - must be the good weather inspiring everyone to relax a bit! :)

nicola not sure if this helps you or not but since my post-pill withdrawal bleed finished I've had on/off niggly cramps throughout the month at seemingly random points, which I have put down to my hormone levels readjusting themselves.

The only definite symptom (for want of a better word) I've had this month has been some seriously epic EWCM on CD15, which I hope might have meant I OVd then. But maybe not. Am determined to retain my zen for now! :)

NicolaHazel · 28/05/2012 11:49

Ooh...that IS helpful Kitten.

Good to have your opinion on it as you're in a similar position!

Kittenkatzen · 28/05/2012 11:51

gald to be of service :D

EchoDragon · 28/05/2012 12:19

Ok so had spotting on Saturday which is unusual for me. Then today EWCM I think today. So no idea what is going on now. But as others have said after 5 years of hormonal contraception.

Am going to check up on Agnus Fasted onpinks advice. Am so glad I have you lovely ladies to talk to about stuff. Had a chat with DH this morning. He just said relax and wait and see what happens. Hmm Think I lack the patience.

NutBiscuit · 28/05/2012 12:39

Hi Nicola. I came off the pill at almost the same time as you and have also had weird spotting and cramping ever since the end of AF. Can only assume it's my body trying to figure out what on earth it's supposed to be doing! Have you had any headaches? I seem to have had a constant headache since coming off the pill and not sure if it's the hormone changes or just the hot weather.

NicolaHazel · 28/05/2012 13:27

Hi Nut!

Constant headache since I was meant to restart pill. Not just me then!

Seems we have baffled our bodies!

Kittenkatzen · 28/05/2012 14:44

echo my DH is exactly the same.....as far as he's concerned, TTC means not using contraception - and that's it! For him there's just nothing to talk about. It's frustrating on the one hand, but also quite good for my sanity i think!

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 14:50

Mine is just as excited as I am. So when I don't feel like DTD, he generally encourages me Grin
