TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

pop - you may have ovulated later then you thought.

You can get all the signs and the ewcm and only drop an egg three days later.

or you may not have ovulated at all.

or the hormone may not be in your system at a high enough level.

but its not over until affected arrives :)

Popinda · 26/05/2012 18:34

Yes, I did pinkie and it was bfn! Sad
Kicking - I'm hoping it's too early and my hormone it's not high enough to be detected!
I actually tested twice as on the first one was a very very faint line! This was a cheap test from amazon. Half an hour later I tested with boots own brand and no line! If af don't arrive till tomorrow I'll go and buy clear blue!
I have been peeing all day like crazy and felt sick yesterday and day before! So there is a hope! Grin

Pinkie29 · 26/05/2012 19:28

Pop I'm sure they say a line is a line no matter how faint?! Maybe the cheapie is more sensitive? Test again in the morning fx for you Smile

EllieBuffalo · 26/05/2012 20:08

Good luck today Nicola - have fun :) We're due to DTD for the first time today but staying at friends so may be a little awkward Confused

Fx for you Pop, hopefully it is still too early!

KickingUpQuestions · 26/05/2012 20:49

If you get a "shadow" or a faint white line, Italy an evaporation line and not a positive

the only line that works is one that you can clearly see a line without staring and has the colour of the control line.

fx for tomorrow

Pinkie29 · 26/05/2012 20:53

Oooer buffalo! Wink maybe use the floor?

KickingUpQuestions · 26/05/2012 20:57

it is not Italy :)

Leftwingharpie · 26/05/2012 21:38

queenofthedrama and kittenkatzen thanks for the welcome! I can't count it as TTC until I get a lot closer to OV, so there's still a bit of waiting to do - but I'm getting excited!

Popinda · 26/05/2012 21:59

Good luck left wing! Smile fx for bfp for you!

NicolaHazel · 26/05/2012 23:09

Thanks Ellie...you too, with surreptitious shagging!!

I know I won't get up the duff the first day without the pill, so I suppose technically we are JSing until such time as it can happen! All good fun, whatever! :+)

Pinkie29 · 27/05/2012 06:16

Never say never Nichola! I mean ppl fall pregnant while on the pill (apparently)

NicolaHazel · 27/05/2012 08:13

True, but I'm trying to be realistic / not get my hopes up too much or too early!

NicolaHazel · 27/05/2012 08:51

Oh, and as I only came off the injection in February, the chances are that I won't be able to get pregnant for a while :-(

Popinda · 27/05/2012 10:52

Nicola - I heard that it can take about 8 months before you become fertile after coming of the injection! Fx it won't take you so long!

Pinkie29 · 27/05/2012 10:58

Give it a few months if nothing happens try vitex, I had 43 day cycles i took vitex at the start of this cycle and ovd day 16 (day 28 last two months!)

NicolaHazel · 27/05/2012 11:24

My nurse did say that having a withdrawal bleed on the pill was a good sign as a key thing with the injection is no bleeding.

And last time I came off the injection I didn't even have withdrawal bleeding for the entire 13 months on the pill, just spotting every now and then.

So I'm cautiously hopeful things are working for me! But have to err on the side of caution.

QueenOfTheDrama · 27/05/2012 13:09

Hope things get back to normal for you quickly nicola - its been a long time since I was on the injection but iirc my af was back to normal within a few months of coming off it.

Any news today popinda? Did you end up getting a clearblue?

NicolaHazel · 27/05/2012 13:28

Ah, now that gives me hope, Queen :-)

It's just over 3 months since my injection would have been due, so it should be well on the way to being out of my system, I'd hope.

I don't like uncertainty...I'm going to be crap at TTC patience!!

Popinda · 27/05/2012 14:16

Queen - yes I did! It's said no pregnant! Still no af! I google that and apparently normal to get negative result even if you pg, so will have to wait few more days! It's killing me not knowing!
Like you Nicola, I'm not very patient! Smile

Pinkie29 · 27/05/2012 16:15

Nicola I'm an utter nightmare at times and it's only cycle 4 of trying! I have somehow managed to remain very chilled out this 2ww Hmm so far anyway!

EchoDragon · 27/05/2012 16:38

Hi everyone.

It's been a while since I've been on. Hey to all the newbies.

Nicola you made me smile a DTD unprotected. We made our first foray down that road last week. I almost shouted stop as I remembered lack of contraception. Then was glad I hadn't when I remembered it was ok we don't need any. Hurrah.

Am on day 39 of current cycle and would dearly love AF to show up. Desperately want to get a handle on my cycle length to ensure SWI is worthwhile. Plus a tiny bit of me is hoping i'm pg cause AF is late. I keep talking to myself sternly as this is highly unlikely. Maybe I should POAS just to check tho. What do you ladies think?

Am off to check prices on amazon now.
:o

KickingUpQuestions · 27/05/2012 16:51

pop when did you ovulated?

you might have oved later than you thought?

it can take your body three days after ovulated symptoms to drop an egg

QueenOfTheDrama · 27/05/2012 17:40

Sorry about bfn popinda - yes try again in a couple of days if still no af.

echo its funny isn't it when you remember you don't need any contraception after spending most of our adult lives trying NOT to be pregnant. It takes some getting used to! I don't see any harm in poas to rule out pregnancy? Maybe you might even get a nice surprise Smile

NicolaHazel · 27/05/2012 18:27

It is weird...I've only had unprotected sex 3 times in my life, 2 of those this weekend! :-)

Just need to not get my hopes up.

Popinda · 28/05/2012 06:56

SadSadSadAngryAngryAngry the witch arrived! All that excitement was for nothing! I really, really believed I'm pg! But I guess that I would be very lucky to get pg first month! Sad well fx for June. And good luck everyone! Any positive news from anyone? Smile
