TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Hi All i just joined today, i am ttc first baby at the age of 30. Been trying for 4 months. I am currently 7 dpo and becoming off the scale frustrated at the dreaded tww!has anyone else had cramps from ovulations pretty much constantly? It is driving me mad. why am i still having cramps? am I pregnant? is this normal? Im guessing we are all in the same boat...Hmm

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 19:16

You and me both, Pinkie! I've never really been that bothered, and other people's kids really don't do much for me!

I think I may end up being quite a strict mum :-/

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 19:17

And hi SuzyQ!

SuzyQ2103 · 21/05/2012 19:25

How long have you been off pull Nicola? I came off in February Smile

SuzyQ2103 · 21/05/2012 19:26

Sorry that was meant to say pill....spot the newby!Grin

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 19:48

I'm just coming off it now...took the last one on Friday, so this Saturday is first unprotected day, in theory!

I'm a proper TTC n00b :-)

SuzyQ2103 · 21/05/2012 20:29

I completely obsess over every little twinge, feeling, I think I even end up with imaginary sick feelings convincing myself I have morning sickness, has anyone else had this?
Or am I just crazy Grin

SuzyQ2103 · 21/05/2012 20:31

I think it's really wierd as women we try and prevent pregnancy all our ahem Blush 'active' lives shall I say... And when actually ttc it's seems so hard to achieve Wink

NicolaHazel · 21/05/2012 20:33

It is...17.5 years of preventing for me! Scared it won't happen now I want it :-(

Popinda · 21/05/2012 20:40

Hi everyone!
Can I join? I'm new to mums net and whole TTC! After snooping around here for a couple of days and spending last 2 hours going trough every single tread I decided to join in too.
I'm 29 and my DH 33, we decided we will try for a baby this month! I stop taking pill (Yasmin) last August to clear my body and we have been using condoms up until now. I'm on CD26 and my usual cycle is between 26-30! No af yet! I really want to be pg, but is so scary if its happens! I think I ov on D14 and we did have lots of fun around then! Since then I been spotting symptoms like crazy! I read every single website about early pg symptoms. My boobs are very heavy and hurt, I had twinges in my tummy and I could swear I felt the little swimmer chasing my egg! :o I'm going crazy! So glad I found this forum as I can't really talk to my friends about it as they would not understand. Re charts and predicting due days I been doing that for months, even before we were TTC! If I was to be pg this months the estimated due date would be 31.1.13 which I would like that as it is same from front and back! Smile Also I downloaded every single app on my iphone relating to pregnancy! Am I being crazy? sorry for any typos as English is not my first language.

Popinda · 21/05/2012 20:45

Suzy, I am the same! I convinced myself that I feel sick and that I am pregnant, that my boobs hurt differently than usual and everything else! :o

Pinkie29 · 21/05/2012 21:13

Welcome Suzy and popinda Wine

Suzy completely agree about how long we all prevent then the minute we want it it's not as easy as we were led to believe! I've been on the pill in and off for 14yrs!

Although that said almost everyone I know got pg 'accidentally' while on the pill Hmm

I'll be glad when we're pg we can say it was very much planned Smile

Kittenkatzen · 21/05/2012 21:26

Welcome suzy and popinda

Another one here recently off the pill - it will be 3 weeks on Thursday since my last pill, but I stopped mid-pack so no tap idea as to cycles just yet.

Kittenkatzen · 21/05/2012 21:27

No real idea.

Sorry, have been on the Wine tonight!

SuzyQ2103 · 21/05/2012 21:51

Thanks for all your kind welcomes! Thanks
Im having yet more cramps tonight as I have had all day and ever since ovulating on 14th.....grrrrr is driving me crazy!
Yeah Ive been on and off pill for years, mostly on, it is a little worrying how we all just assume we will get pregnant really quick, like I said before we spend so long trying to prevent it hahahah
Infact ive just taken a cheeky hpt....just to 'check' you see! im even trying to convince myself there is a slight shadow there....lol
Anybody else addicted to taking tests? ovulation tests etc I recently bought one of those ovulation microscopes! omg best thing i ever bought! my friend told me about it, saying that you put a little saliva on the lens wait for it to dry and if you are ovulating you see fearning patterns or crystalising, it is amazing!
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001CQJPS4
its only a small thing so you can take it anywhere with you in your hand bag, i find it works best if you use saliva first thing in morning before having a drink or food!
Nicola:
it is scary, we just have to stay (pardon the pun!) positive!

Im just off to check if anything has changed on the hpt!!!! lol

KFFOREVER · 21/05/2012 21:52

Can I join too? I'm 26 and DH is 26 too. Been off the pill since end of January. Can't wait to have a baby. Talking of spreadsheets in the earlier posts I have filled up my calender on my phone with notes of possible symptoms and endlessly been on the internet looking at signs. lol. I think I am going crazy. Saw spotting on the 7th May, period was due 10th May. Have sore breasts, stomach cramps and backaches but BFN. I feel nauseos but maybe thats my imagination. It may be the after effects of coming off the pill.

Good luck to everyone.

Popinda · 21/05/2012 22:14

Suzy, you are not the only one addicted to test! I tested 6x since Thursday, because a made myself believe that I'm pg! They were all BFN as expected, because it's too early for me to test! I really wanted to test again today, but trying not to till wed as it is pointless. I brought v cheap test from amazon ( 15x for £2.80!) so I'm being crazy! Aarrr! Why does it take so long to know if we are pg??? So not fair! Smile

mrsbugsywugsy · 22/05/2012 04:35

Hello,

it's 4.30am and I just woke up and vomited everywhere. So I thought I probably should take the clearblue test and.....2-3 weeks pregnant!

Feeling pretty rough right now, and not sure how I'll get through a 3 hour meeting tomorrow morning

Hello to the newbies! too tired to read all the posts properly but suzy I had what I thought were late ovulation cramps last month and now I think they must have been implantation

SuzyQ2103 · 22/05/2012 07:00

Congratulations bugsy! I bet you've never been so pleased to be vomitting at 4.30am! Grin oh I bet your so pleased Grin

Did you have pains a lot? I've had these pretty much since I ovulated, even though it's way too early I've tested this morning 'just to check' my period is due on 31st may!

Hey popinda I'm exactly the same, I've convinced myself that this is the month....tested twice now knowing that it'll be neg Sad

Hi KF yep I stalk Internet pages looking for signs that I'm preg....phew and I've also loads of apps.....liking this one....the forum straight to your iPhone....haha

Congrats again bugsy! Smile

NicolaHazel · 22/05/2012 07:06

Ooh...I am SO pleased for you bugsy even if vomiting everywhere isn't the best way to definitely find out!

Congratulations. :-)

Kittenkatzen · 22/05/2012 07:42

Hurrah for early morning vomming!! :o:o

So pleased for you bugsy, good luck with your meeting this morning - position yourself near the door just in case!

SuzyQ2103 · 22/05/2012 07:43

Just thought I would say I very nearly just missed my train stop as I've been reading through the past posts! It's nice to know that other people are going through the same thing, and are going just as crazy as I've been feeling.....nicola I'm with you on the spreadsheet! I photocopied a chart out of the what to expect before your expecting book, but there's no fun in that I want to make my own! Smile

Popinda · 22/05/2012 07:55

Congrats bugsy! V positive news! Gives us all a hope!
Testes this morning again, even I was positive it's going to be negative! And it was! :-( anyway still very early! Af not due till Friday, so there is still a hope! Smile
Silly question but why Af is shortcut for period? What is it stands for?

Kittenkatzen · 22/05/2012 08:04

Grin lol popinda very fitting typo ("testes" instead of "tested) Grin

AF stands for Aunt Flo which is a nickname for periods....no idea how/where it originated from though

Sorry for your BFNs but like you say it's not over till its over and there's still some hope - fx for you!

redstrawberry · 22/05/2012 08:24

Congratulations mrsbugsy Smile you have given us all hope :)
I am hoping your luck rubs off on us. Hope you feel better for your meeting x
