Had a search for a may BFP thread and couldn't see one (please correct me if there is!) so thought I'd start one..

curiousgeorgie - TTC #2 - Testing April 29th

Anyone with me?

Ooh thanks Littlemiss. I've also got sore boobs (but in a weird way, not like they are Pre-AF, kind of sensitive nips and hurt when I push down on them, or if I bend over).
And I had cramping on day 17 after OV. Don't want to get my hopes up...but if I'm not pg, what the hell is my body doing?! Never had this all before....

A WEEK TIL TESTING NOW!!!! :o

winkle2 · 04/05/2012 09:07

I confess to a few vodkas last night - couldn't resist! But did throw in a few soft drinks too. Just keep thinking if I am pregnant I don't want to be worrying that I got hammered.

Still no sign of AF... CD 33 here. I'll officially be late if she doesn't show on Sunday!

tedmundo · 04/05/2012 09:48

I didn't POAS today . Just one day at a time, right?!

Very bored of this 2ww malarkey now. Just want Tuesday to be here NOW.

I had a glass of wine last night winkle. Also agree with RIBS that drinking at this stage pretty common. The little bean that didnt stick was a Christmas night miracle! After a lot of champers.

Lots of cm is a very good symptom to spot. looking good.

everythinghappensforareason · 04/05/2012 10:21

hi ladies, im quite exited, ive just got my first ever positive opk :o lots off BD'ing tonight.. I have a leaving party of Saturday night, going to be lots of tears + hugs got a feeling i may need a few drinks, would this be completely selfish?
obviously i may not conceive this month then i would kick myself for not enjoying the leaving party as its someone very close, but if i did i would feel guilty knowing i could have been :/

jaquelinehyde · 04/05/2012 11:06

Everythinghappens Go for it have a fab night on Saturday and enjoy DTD as much as you can over the next week Grin Happy Shagging!

Scuba I have hurty nips as well, have had for a few days. Didn't think anything of it as it's only 6 days since I got a positive ov test. I feel a little but excited hearing you have them as well and we are due to test around the same time!

winkle Eeeek it's begining to get quite exciting for you. Still no BFPs so maybe you could be our first? fx fx fx fx fx fx

ted well done on resisting the urge to poas. Keep strong comrade Grin

Still achey painful nipples here and when I wiped this morning (sorry tmi) it was what I would describe as with a hint of pink - not that you would noticed if you weren't looking for it iyswim. It's all a waiting game.

StephieFranks · 04/05/2012 11:15

How long has it taken to get a positive opk everything and was it an internet cheapie or clear blue digi thing? I don't think it would be selfish of you to enjoy yourself fully Sat night- i think while ttc we still need to carry on as 'normal' with our lives Confused

Since AF got me last week i'm trying badly to be more laid back about it all Smile Hmm

Can't believe still no BFP's yet?????!!! Shocking!!

CraftyGirly · 04/05/2012 11:42

an update on symptom watch at 11 DPO and counting

I've got some very mild cramping today, way too early for AF as not due till Monday. Also my face seems to have turned into an oil slick, normally my skin is on the dry flaky side? Can't decide if I have sore nips, or if I'm making them sore by keep prodding them to check Blush lol

scuba I feel the same as you, if it turns out I'm not pg I'll be Hmm at my body wondering what the hell it's been up to!

ted I'm finding the best way to avoid testing early is to hot foot it to the bog as soon as I wake up and get rid of FMU before I even get chance to dig for a stick Grin

winkle are you planning to test tomorrow or wait till Sunday?

cant' wait for someone to get to

CraftyGirly · 04/05/2012 11:44

oops pressed send to early! That last bit was can't wait for someone to get BFP :)

tedmundo · 04/05/2012 11:50

@ crafty ... Good thinking. Pee straight away and then no chance to test!!

still sick, headaches and a bit of tummy cramps. Starting to feel a tiny tiny bit hopeful.

We need some bfps to get the ball rolling.

RightUpMyRue · 04/05/2012 12:08

Hi all,

feeling pretty crap this morning. Went to the GP to ask for a blood test or a gynae referral or something because it's been 18 calender months (14 cycles for me) of TTC and only one miscarriage to show for it and he said I can't have anything because I did get PG in December even though I miscarried. I also needed a sicknote for when I was off work having the miscarriage and he said no to that too.

I left and cried in the car Sad He is just the worst GP ever.

I said, as far as I knew, you were eligible for a referral or a blood test or some help with TTC if you'd been having regular unprotected sex for 12 months and still weren't happily and healthily PG. Am I wrong? He said because I did get PG in December I'll have to keep trying for another 12 months from that.

Feel gutted Sad I'm intending to change my GPs (we're moving house so will have to change anyway).

StephieFranks · 04/05/2012 12:16

Rue that is unacceptable! Disgusting really - is there another GP you can see in your current practice before you move? Is your GP a partner in the practice?

RightUpMyRue · 04/05/2012 12:30

Stephie, I don't know whether he's a partner. There are only 3 of them there, him, and his parents. It's a crappy GPs surgery TBH; I was told I had to go elsewhere to have my coil removed because the they don't deal with anything like that. When I was asked how many people I'd had sex with I said only 10 (which I considered not many for a woman of my age and generation) I got a proper raised eyebrows catsbum mouth look from the doctor and was told that more than 2 is considered a lot Shock

I feel like every time I go in there all he wants to do is argue with me and tell me I'm not allowed this or he won't do that.

Christelle2207 · 04/05/2012 12:38

omg rue that is so unacceptable. Definitely change surgeries. The last GP I saw was very helpful and sympathetic but the one before that useless. Didn't want to let me have the 21 day test on day 26 because she said I had be day 21 - I said no it's 7 days after suspected ovulation which in my case would be day 26. Anyway I argued back (successfully) and the score was 26 - not brilliant but probably good enough said the (2nd, more sympathetic) gp.
Can't believe the anticipation on this thread - surely there will be one BFP soon? and lots more to follow. I think I have ovulated late so almost certain not to get BFP on my birthday ,16th :-(
Can anyone (possibly those with experience of being pg) tell me how soon after ov should we expect possible symptoms to kick in? Will be on serious symptom watch next week.

RightUpMyRue · 04/05/2012 12:45

How long had you been trying before you got a blood test Christelle?

I've found a new GPs surgery, less than 1/2 a mile from my new house. I intend to pop in there on my way to school later and get some registration forms. Looks good, 9 GPs, surely one of them will help me!?

Christelle2207 · 04/05/2012 13:17

one year but only six months seriously. However I went to the doc because i was worried about not getting any positive result on ovulation tests (though I get ovluation cramps), also because of previously suspected PCOS picked up on a scan. Given that I had reason to be worried, they were ok - it does depend on PCT policy and also actual practice policy though I think.
I would suggest getting a recommendation from someone you know about a surgery - clearly you don't need to go into detail but finding some place that can give you appointments at the time you need them (i.e. not when you're at work) is important!

suzydelarosa · 04/05/2012 13:24

bad doctors make me so angry - rue, please change doctors. A good gp can make all the difference!

I'm now on CD30, am usually 28 or 29 days. No sign of AF although cramping a lot over the last few days - doesn't really make sense. It's a waiting game... sigh.

Really need a BFP on this site!

DogEared · 04/05/2012 13:34

Shock Rue! That is absolutely not on! I think you'd be right to write a letter of complaint when you move. To judge you for how many people you've slept with is absolutely unacceptable. What a crap doctor.
I can only speak from experience, but I had been trying for just under 18m for DC2 when I went to the doctor. I am usually annoyingly laid back, but with this doctor, I went in, started to speak, and burst into tears- Not pretty film star tears, you see, but proper hiccuppy snotty sobs. The doctor said, "are you always this anxious?" :o and said that even though he would usually give me more advice about ovulating and fertility tips and leave me for a bit, he said I was obviously stressed and thought it was best to refer me to a specialist. He leaned over the desk, and said "I know it's hard, but just forget it for a bit. Just think you'll see a specialist soon, you'll probably just need some tablets to boost your fertility, and you'll be fine."
I went home, relaxed for a bit, and got pregnant when I waited for my appointment :)

I have a spot today. I always get one or two before AF. Also, very crampy. (although that always happened when I got pg). I don't really feel pg, but it's on my mind so much, my judgement is clouded now.

TremoloGreen · 04/05/2012 14:15

Hi all

This is my 1st time on one of these threads, I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much... but fuck it Grin

Rue, I'm sorry to hear about your GP, what an arse! I would deffo change. I hope you can get registered with the other place and find a more sympathetic doctor.

So I'm going to test on 10th May if AF doesn't make an appearance before then (that'll be 14 DPO, but my LP is normally ~12 days). I had a very weird pinching pain yesterday that lasted 20 mins on and off in the morning - it was higher up than PMT cramps and much sharper, but not ovarian. I've never had it before... However, I'm feeling normal PMT type aches today. No sore boobs (I never get that).

Good luck everyone!!

StephieFranks · 04/05/2012 14:17

A good GP does make all the difference - Rue def do some research on picking the next practice - see how many Dr's there are (at my surgery you can pick from any of about 6 or 7 Dr's to see) when appointment times are and what on site services they offer (mine do blood tests etc evening appts and Sat morning ones and not all surgeries let you book in advance with a Dr of your choice?! Madness!) Feel lucky to have a good surgery.

Next time you go and see the Doc Rue - just tell them you want the 21 day blood tests don't ask for them?! Smile

32andready · 04/05/2012 14:27

Hi! I've been lurking for a while but going slightly loopy this month so decided to join in!

Rue - that's rubbish, I'm so sorry you've been dealing with an idiot like that. Can you change practice soon or will you have to wait till you move?

I'm on CD34 at the moment and have had 3 BFNs. My cycle is normally between 26 and 29 days (came off the pill at the end of August) so don't know what's going on. Started using ov tests last month and got a smiley face on day 18 so dtd that night so even counting 14 days from the late ov date I am still late. Just want to know what's going on!!! No real symptoms - just a slightly sore left boob (normal between ov and af for me) and, and this is both TMI and the weird one, loads of very watery cm. Anyway, I'm going slightly mad waiting to see whether af appears and in the meantime am trying to avoid Wine just in case which isn't helping!

tedmundo · 04/05/2012 14:30

My god rue, tell the doctor from me that 10 was just Freshers year (not really but Christ his reaction has seriously pissed me off on your behalf). Who DO these people think they are and for £100k a year I expect a bit better service than that. Rant over.

dog eared I have only done the really out of control snotty sobs once, after the mc, and it really does feel animal like. faced with that, I think I would give the person ANYTHING they wanted! Sounds like you have a pretty decent GP.

Just did Groovy Moves with DS2 and I do feel like chucking up now. Symptoms, symptoms everywhere and not a Bfp to see.

hitremolo .. Let's get excited! Why not? There is every chance we are all up the duff right now. It only ends with Mrs AF crashing the party.

TremoloGreen · 04/05/2012 14:38

32andready Are you not tempted to POAS?!

32andready · 04/05/2012 14:43

I've PO3S and had 3 BFNs so far. Keep reading stories of late BFPs and hoping but trying not to hope too hard in case af shows up!

TremoloGreen · 04/05/2012 15:12

Ah, sorry I didn't read properly... well fingers crossed, hope you can relax and enjoy the Bank Hol weekend!

jaquelinehyde · 04/05/2012 15:27

Bloody hell people are queuing up on this thread for possible BFPs! Fingers crossed for everyone.

Surely it will just take one BFP to set all the others off.

Still waiting here, nothing new to report other than I have stupidly started looking at baby names Blush
