Had a search for a may BFP thread and couldn't see one (please correct me if there is!) so thought I'd start one..

curiousgeorgie - TTC #2 - Testing April 29th

Thanks for all your messages Smile Nice to know I'm not overeacting.

I think that often happens doesn't it DogEared, getting PG whilst waiting for a specialist appt. Perhaps the knowledge that a specialist is going to help you brings a sense of relief and relaxation and that helps to finally get PG? That's pretty good doctoring isn't it? Just waiting for an appt is a cure! Smile

Loving all symptom spotting, still do it myself every month even though I have now come to realise that my body does all this weird stuff all the time just normally but I try to convince myself it is a symptom this month.

We so need a BFP. Who is due to test today/tomorrow?

RightUpMyRue · 04/05/2012 16:13

According to the stats it's Figaro and winkle. How are you two feeling? PG?

RIBS · 04/05/2012 16:32

Rue What a shitty Dr. I dont know whay they become Dr's if they dont want to help people. And who is he to look all judgemental about how many men you've slept with. Perhapshe wouldnt be such a twat if he got laid. ohhhh GGgrrrr. Glad you've got another Dr's close by. Ours are rubbish at diagnosing anything but they'l give blood tests or just refer you to a consultant at the drop of a hat.

32 dont give up my friend was a week b4 getting her bfp.

Scuba my new POAS buddy!!! I HAVE LOTS OF CM 2!!!!! YYYEEEEEEY!! Also feel queasy and VERY dizzy. But it could just be the Clomid!

RIBS · 04/05/2012 16:36

Sorry, Hi to all the new joiners!!

everything. Quick tip. You may know this already, but I thought you just ov'd on the day you got your + opk reading. It can upto 36 or 48 hours after, the + test gets the LH surge before the egg is released so something technical like that. In other words, keep going for a couple of days after. (not constantly of course, that would be impossible, but impressive!!) Grin

32andready · 04/05/2012 17:01

fingers crossed for everyone - have a great weekend!

scubastevie · 04/05/2012 17:34

RIBS it is so weird you said that- I bent down a few times at work today, and when I stood up, I felt all lightheaded, dizzy almost, and very hot, a bit bizzare. Is this a symptom or am I clutching at straws?! Lol

Well if RIBS if my POAS buddy then Rue You are my NOPSW buddy (number of people slept with!) 10 is not a lot, a very good, round number IMO :o but seriously, what an idiot, frustrating there is not more complaining you can do if mum and dad are there.

Jaqueline glad to hear about your hurty nips (never thought I'd say that) I so so hope this is it as it feels different from pms right?? Right??!

I think the cm is the biggest thing for me though, all slippery. Def not normally like this. I am wishing this coming week away, although excited to hear if anyone else gets a bfp!! :)

Cejay8 · 04/05/2012 17:37

I've got a spot too! And feel slightly crampy, I sense AF is just around the corner Sad I'm not going to test till Tuesday at the earliest. Spent the afternoon cuddling a friends newborn Grin hoping that might send some baby vibes my way! Good luck to all those testing over the next few days x

LittleMissSnowShine · 04/05/2012 17:37

hello tremolo and 32!

Rue - That's really appalling treatment from your GP, insensitive and quite negligent too, imho. Glad you're going to be able to change drs soon and you'll hopefully have a much more positive experience with them. When I had a mc 7 years ago, my GP was an absolute gem and gave me a note for college that would have had me out for a month if I'd wanted to be, so really don't understand why he thinks you wouldn't be due a sick note for work.

Ted - lol @ groovy moves!

Bought a load of preg tests in town today, a cheapo two pack from poundland and then saw FRER ones on offer in Boots so got a pack of them too. Now itching to go to poas tho!! It's a bit early still tho for me I think but can't help but look at the FRER claim of being able to tell if you're pg 6 days early and think Hmm...

((must try to wait until at least the morning. must try. MUST. willpower fading....aghhh....someone else go poas instead and report back with out v first BFP!!))

CraftyGirly · 04/05/2012 17:52

littlemiss whats keeping me holding off til I'm late is the thought of how gutted I'll be to see a BFN even if it's too early to show a + result. aargh!
apparently we have 2 up to test tomorrow Wink

LittleMissSnowShine · 04/05/2012 18:40

Crafty - I know, i know, it's a stupid compulsion to test even tho it's prob too early, waste of money, getting hopes up etc. But because I'm on CD31 I'm now two days "late" according to a regular 28 day cycle, and cos a lot of my cycles are 28 days and I'm not exactly sure when I OV this month then it's possible, I suppose, that it's not too early Confused

I feel like my willpower might not hold out very well I'm afraid!

wishfulthinking1 · 04/05/2012 19:00

must control self and resist urge to scream, "just pee! Pee on the stick!!"

Muchos respect to those with iron clad will power!

I'm on cd21 and no blasted symptoms at all. Rubbish! If i OV-ed on either cd14,15 or 16 im out anyway as stupid fiancée wouldn't shag me!! but have still managed to get my hopes up. Ridiculous!

X

everythinghappensforareason · 04/05/2012 19:02

Thankyou, i think your right, life shouldn't completely stop when ttc, i just wont get legless haha
:)

  • i haven't taken them for a few months it was becoming too stressful, but i was getting confused after i had a MC with my cycles, + was getting OV symptoms much earlier than before, so got some cheapy opk's this cycle, and i was right. im on CD 10 today with a ++, & yeah RIBS, it sais after the 1st ++ ur likely too ovulate 24-36hours after. so tonight + maybe tomorrow or the following day :) going too hold my legs up tonight, keep seeing people recommend this haha! Good luck too everyone, + have a great bank holiday weekend :)
LittleMissSnowShine · 04/05/2012 19:14

Ok, ladies, I caved and I peed. On the stick. I have no willpower!!

So I used a FRER test and the result is...inconclusive Hmm

When I was watching it develop (as you do) I spotted straight away that the magical second line seemed to be appearing. Then of course the control line developed a nice, strong, obvious purple/pink colour and the second line didn't really get a lot darker. So now I have a test which has one very obvious line and one very faint lilac/greyish line.

Now I know that both lines should be readily visible to the naked eye. And I know that any line that appears after the 5 minute mark is prob an evap line. But I waited the exact 3 mins FRER suggest and then I showed it to DH who is much more of a sceptic and quite clear headed about these kind of things and he said he could see that there was a second line there as well.

I put it down for literally a minute or two and tucked DS into bed and I've just looked at it again and the second line hasn't gotten any darker but it's still...there..just barely..

Anyway, I'm getting very over excited def not going to say this is our first BFP because I'd be wanting that line to be a lot darker and for AF to def not be appearing next week before I break out the Shloer but maybe it's our first May not-BFN??? Maybe??

Going to grit teeth and wait until my designated 9th May testing date to test again tho, if I'm pg I'll still be pg on 9th May and don't want to spend a fortune on hpts with faint, possible lines on them!

LittleMissSnowShine · 04/05/2012 19:16

((someone else cave in to lack of willpower and go poas so we can have a faint, just barely there, possible second line party hee hee))

DogEared · 04/05/2012 19:24

OMG. That sounds like the lines I got with my boys, Little Miss! If there is any line there, it should be a BFP!!!!!!!!!!! :o
I don't want to say congratulations yet, but I really really do think that they may be in order....

Christelle2207 · 04/05/2012 19:41

What do I know-except that loads of threads here suggest a line is a line is a line-faint or not line=BFP. You may want to wait a few days before cracking open the champagne (or not) but hang in there, I think the thread has its first BFP!!!! Well done you

LittleMissSnowShine · 04/05/2012 19:45

DogEared - Because I wasn't actively ttc when I got pg with DS, I didn't test until I was more like 5-6 weeks along, so I had proper, definite, dark lines on those tests. If I am pg now, I'm more like 3 weeks so it's likely that the test would look a whole lot less obvious than one done 3 weeks further on. And I googled Blush and found a load of pics of people with tests who look v like mine, who kept testing every couple of days and you can gradually see the lines getting darker...so.... Anyway, def not drinking at the wedding I'm going to tomorrow just to be on the safe side, but quite tempted to shell out the extra cash to get a Clearblue digital hpt for next week so no hell of trying to see if the line develops and just get a clear 'pregnant' / 'not pregnant' result....

ooh trying not to get carried away...

going to go log off and get dinner finished - cos if I am pg and I'm anywhere near as sick as I was with DS might not be a lot of big meals ahead of me for a while Wink

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 04/05/2012 19:46

Oh LittleMiss that does sound rather excit

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 04/05/2012 19:48

Oops got so excited I prematurely posted

Was meaning to say so exciting. If the other half seems convinced I think it must be a BPF.

LittleMissSnowShine · 04/05/2012 19:49

Sorry, last post, but my test looks just a very little bit fainter than this lady's 10 DPO FRER test

wishfulthinking1 · 04/05/2012 19:51

Snowshine!! That most definitely sounds like a BFP!! I'm resisting urge to yell and scream- but I think it looks good!!

can someone please humour me with how they know someone who didn't dtd on cd14,15 or 16 and had no symptoms but were still pregnant please!!

tedmundo · 04/05/2012 20:03

Yay!! Finally. snowshine I think you should be very proud of yourself.

When you get a line then that does mean your body is creating Hcg and that only happens if implantation happens. So you my dear, is up the duff!!

Grin
winkle2 · 04/05/2012 20:03

Whispering congratulations littlemisssnowshine! I'm sure the lines will get darker! Test again in a few days! Eeeeeek

LittleMissSnowShine · 04/05/2012 20:04

wishful - since i dunno when I OV exactly this month I hav no idea whether we DTD on the right days either, tho, hopefully, fingers crossed, just maybe it looks like we did. so no reason not to think u could be up the duff, loads of people hav just a random one night stand and get pg immediately bitches so if you DTD at all around OV time this cycle that could be u too!!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 04/05/2012 20:05

Snowshine, it really does sound like a BFP to me. With my dd I only tested on 14 DPO and it looked like that ladies 12 DPO.

We had stopped trying that month sick of all the pressure had one shag about 5 days pre ov (before breastfeeding I was v regular so could work out when I must have ovulated).

So there you go wishful. Me and dh had 6 months of non stop shagging, opks and the dreaded 2ww. Then we decided to have a month off. Dtd 5 days pre ovulation and got pregnant. Only realized day I was pregnant on the day I missed my period.
