Had a search for a may BFP thread and couldn't see one (please correct me if there is!) so thought I'd start one..

curiousgeorgie - TTC #2 - Testing April 29th

Anyone with me?

jaqueline My symptoms thus far:

  1. Too-early ERTD symptoms that's not even a symptom
  2. I picked up my dog's shit in a bag, and thought "That is disgusting. Ooh! That aversion might be a symptom!" No, it's because I'm handling warm turd
  3. I can't stop eating I am a glutton

As you can see, I have NO symptoms... :o
I was going to buy some pg tests online as I will need some at some point, but I decided not to because having them in the house will make me test too early. I'm more likely to put off testing and not waste my money if I have to buy them from an actual shop- I live in a small town and wouldn't buy locally as someone would see me!
As it is, I have planned I'll be testing on the 14th, which means I'd be 5 days late... Hmm I'm never going to hold out that long, am I?!

RIBS · 03/05/2012 16:38

Not a chance! Ill give you til Weds tops!! Grin

suzydelarosa · 03/05/2012 16:49

hi - can i get some advice. I'm on CD30, did POAS and so far a pretty clear BFN. But no sign of dear AF even though some cramping over last few days. Is it possible that HCG still low that it doesn't turn up? (sound of wishful thinking). In both previous pregnancies (1 stuck, 1 didn't) I tested about a week after AF due and both BFP. Sorry i sound naive - am clever just not done enough reading about this!

my thoughts to maghribia - 4 years, what a trooper. Here's to a BFP!

jaquelinehyde · 03/05/2012 16:54

Grin Nope you will never last until the 14th!

I have to buy my pg tests online as I live on the Shetland Isles so as soon as you buy anything the whole island knows what you are up to and it's 2hrs to the nearest shop that sells them Shock

I have ordered a box of early response ones and a box of digital ones so I have 4 all together and I suspect I shall waste one practice with one when they arrive even if that is tomorrow which will be a whole 10days before I said I would test Grin

Although I may not have to as when I last went to the loo and wiped there was a bit of browney discharge and I feel all heavy in that general area. Odd way to decribe it I know but heavy is all I can think, not painful or achey at all just...well...heavy.

Whats ERTD by the way? and Grin at the warm dog turd!

jaquelinehyde · 03/05/2012 16:56

Suzy I would give it another week at least and see what happens, if your still getting a BFN and there is no sign of AF just pop to the Drs and see what they have to say.

There really is no way of being certain until either AF gets you or you get a BFP. Hang in there Smile fx

winkle2 · 03/05/2012 16:59

arrrgggghhhhh test number 2! Hubs and friend are drinking in the pub I WANNA GO AND DRINK WINE!!

jaquelinehyde · 03/05/2012 17:03

Have you just done another test winkle? I presuming you have and still BFN with no sign of AF?

wishfulthinking1 · 03/05/2012 17:08

There's some serious will power on this thread! Am so glad it's looking positive for some of you- fingers crossed!!

Weird thing happened this morning- I think I noticed ewcm last night (I 'raked' around for it- to steal a turn of phrase!!) thought it was a bit weird. Was still quite wet this morning- sorry for the tmi- so dtd just incase. But it's cd20- I'm not temping or using opk or anything- but OV around cd20 is very late isn't it? Is it impossible? And of I OV late what does that mean for my chances of conception? I've read something about a luteal phase- though AF not due for 8 days and on one website I read that if your luteal phase was under 7 days then it was a problem. Hmmm... Will monitor cm with a vengeance!!

I know Internet says most people OV day 14, anecdotally when do you all OV?

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/05/2012 17:28

@winkle - raked around for it?? lol Anecdotally I've no idea when I OV yet but, like you, I found some EWCM arounds about CD21 or so, and since I hadn't had any this cycle up til then, I took that to mean I was OV late and DTD like crazy for a couple of days! Which means, I think, that I can't really expect a BFP til CD35..sighh...

Hello and FX to new ladies, glad to have you with us!

@RIBS - No zumba?? Really?? Oh no, I love zumba!! Will I really have to give it up??

@jaqueline / dogeared - no symptoms for me (tho prob only 7 DPO so bit early for any maybe) except weird desire for fatty, salty food! Bit greedy of me lol, Chinese last night and just had a bag of crisps. Thing is, tho, I usually have a v sweet tooth and i'm all about chocolate, icecream etc. But bit off that last day or so, just want salty, fatty, carby stuff.. symptom???

winkle2 · 03/05/2012 18:12

I meant test number 2 in the 'no drinking in May' rule I set myself!!

winkle2 · 03/05/2012 18:13

Wishful - in feb I got a positive opk on cd18 which means I could have ov'd on cd19 or 20. Well done for dtd just in case!

Gosh we are like shagging machines on this thread!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 03/05/2012 18:25

Cd6 here. Dh.has been spending the day looking after ds2 and doing school runs with ds1. Has just sent me a text saying "glad there's no shagging on cards tonight, I'm exhausted!" Haha, hes had a taste of my usual day with the dc! I've been out shopping, having lunch and generally being self indulgent all day! :)

I must say that I can't believe how good everyone is being at holding off from poas!!

Good to see so much dtd is still going on. I'm looking forward to getting back on it!!

winkle how are you doing? Hope you are remaining calm! Keeping everything crossed for you!

ribs thanks for that Grin I thought you meant you actually examine your cervix rather than your cm iyswim. Yes, I'm quite hot on examining my cm too. Last month was very obvious ewcm along with Ov pains and then AF arrived 2weeks later. Hoping for the same obvious symptoms this cycle (without AF obvs!)

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/05/2012 18:56

@morecoffee - that sounds like a really lovely day! Me and DS have been at mum and toddler, shops, bank, park, garden, 'helping mummy with housework' (ie making a mess everywhere_ - it's so lovely and sunny today but i'm pretty shattered! glad u got the day off and your DH got a taste of mum life lol

tedmundo · 03/05/2012 19:05

Okay okay ... I broke first! I tested this morning, even though it is DAYS til testing day

In my defence I woke up feeling super sick.

Then remembered the chicken tikka sag Balti I woofed down last night

I really wont be doing it again til Mon or Tues at the earliest.

the pressure of the praise at everyone's willpower just was eating me up with guilt.

My name is Tedmundo and I am a naughty pisser of sticks.

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/05/2012 19:16

ha ha @tedmundo, if i had some tests in the house, even tho i really shouldn't be thinking about poas for another 6 days, i'd be doing it too!!

AF was due yesterday for me, if i was going to have a regular cycle. Last cycle was long, but the three before that were regular, so I can't help but think of AF as being "due" every 4 weeks even though a 5 week cycle isn't completely out of the ordinary for me. It makes ttc a bit hellish tho, cos i start wondering if i could be pg from about CD24...which was 5 flippin days ago!! But I'm not going to test until Sunday at the very earliest, and only because Sunday night is a night out for us and I'm going to be devestated when I get a BFN not going to get my hopes up for a positive result since this could be a lllonnggg cycle...

(Going quietly a bit mad here!!)

DogEared · 03/05/2012 19:30

It's so all-consuming isn't it LittleMiss - Once you start thinking about it, you lose all perspective.
Just remembered an actual poss symptom... I had a very vivid dream last night, which is v. unusual for me. The neighbours were convinced that the dog had shat in their garden Hmm and were being very mean. Then I looked up at the window of my living room, and there were floods coming in waves against the window. I hope those floods were not Evil Red Tides of Doom... :o

CraftyGirly · 03/05/2012 19:32

littlemiss i'll join you going quietly mad

ted naughty you for POAS! you must have known its not going to show just yet!

I think the only reason I'm managing to hold off is because I'll be so gutted if its a BFN... and at this point even if I am pg it would be negative!

lou143 · 03/05/2012 19:38

Hi all, I hope you dont mind if i gate crash :-) !
Hows all the testing coming along? Any +++++?
I have been trying for past 10 months and hoping May will be the month! Will be testing on 17th and not before :-)
I tried for my DD for nearly 3 years and she has now hit 4 and am desperate for another as the gap is getting rather large.
Good luck lovely ladies xx

tedmundo · 03/05/2012 19:38

Yes I knew it would be a bfn. But I really MISS my daily dip stick regime I had with the opks. I loved the whole THRILL of it. Strangely addictive.

I am going a bit mad too. Super sick all day today but like I said, and joking apart, I ate the equivalent of an ox in sauce last night so no wonder my guts we bad.

Had some amazing news from a friend who has had a really bad time with babies. 6 weeks today. It made my day and I am so happy for her.

tedmundo · 03/05/2012 19:41

PS is anyone else getting utterly Effed off at the Discussions of the Day all being pregnancy related.

how dare Mumsnet do this to us?

jaquelinehyde · 03/05/2012 20:14

hahaha @ tedmundo giving in to temptation Grin I totally understand what you are saying about the exhileration of the test! Even though you know it's going to be a BFN the possibility that you may have got it all wrong and it's a BFP is just too damn exciting to resist.

11 days for me to wait and I know at some point I will fall off the no testing wagon but because you broke first I will just blame you...'she made me do it miss' Grin

Oh and I dare you to start an AIBU thread about discussions of the day Hmm

Hi Lou welcome and fx for you for a May BFP, feel free to add yourself to our list.

RIBS · 03/05/2012 20:44

Hi Lou. I would say put ur feet up n relax in here with us but your prob in the middle of babydancing, in which case put ur legs up as well.

Never mind Ted. U won't b the first. Iv missed poas 2. We r all so wierd.

Winkle. Bollocks 2 it, go down the pub. It wouldn't do any harm. I'd got pg with dd over Xmas, drunk as a skunk more or less 2 wks solid, thought that was y I felt shit.

@Suzy. My friend was a wk b4 she finally got her bfp. Don't give up hope.

scubastevie · 03/05/2012 21:01

YY RIBS we are exactly the same, due on the Friday but not testing til Saturday :)

Am so excited, although its going to be crap if get AF on Friday, least we save a test though.

Have been getting loads of cm...is this a common preg symptom, those that have been pg? I have read it somewhere...

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 03/05/2012 21:36

Hello ladies

Have been offline for a few days. Have just skim read the missed posts.

Sad for everyone who has been caught by the evil fairy that is af. Is there no good news yet from anyone?

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/05/2012 23:14

Scuba - yes that is indeed a symptom, v exciting!

DogEared - another symptom spotted! Could it be the flood was the wave of bfps we're about to get here??
