Had a search for a may BFP thread and couldn't see one (please correct me if there is!) so thought I'd start one..

Welcome DogEared!

morecoffee - Glad you're feeling a bit brighter, and DH is spoiling you with coffee, choc and bed rest. Will be joining you in queue for drs if my crazy cycles don't sort themselves out, but hope to see you with a May BFP despite the setback today

Rue lol you could be right! (makes mental note to self, must remind DH to join in hee)

Georgie - Sorry things are still up in the air, hope that was a BFP and not an evaporation line. All i know about the science of poas is that you are supposed to leave the test to develop for the full 2-3 minutes, read it and bin it. If you can see a line at 2-3 mins, even a faint line, then that's a good sign. If you see a faint line, and then look at it again 10 mins later and the line seems a bit darker, then it's prob an evaporation one. Hope it's a BFP for you tho, fx fx fx!

PS - speaking of one woman shagathons, if anyone is about to embark on one, is in the middle of one or has just made it safely out the other side of one and needs a giggle jezebel.com/5905820/compare-and-contrast-this-hilarious-1979-victorias-secret-catalog-vs-victorias-secret-today/gallery/1

DogEared · 28/04/2012 19:02

Yes I did mean 28-day-cycle, silly me :)
I have made my DH his favourite food this evening, and his football team won, so hoping to catch the tail end of my OV with some action :o

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 28/04/2012 19:39

Hi dogeared

Am not telling my dh when I am ovulating either. He loves sex when it is just for fun but when there is a baby in the picture (either trying to make one or when I am pregnant) he feels a bit freaked out.

In fact I haven't actually told him we are ttc. We have always discussed have two kids ideally two years apart. Hmmm just realized it sounds like I am stealing his sperm, honest I am not he does know we are ttc we just don't discuss it.

suzydelarosa · 28/04/2012 19:55

hi everyone,

Hope you don't mind if I join this thread --- am TTC, now on 3rd cycle and on day 24 and I'm officially nuts as I've POAS every day since day 16. Yes, really. It's like a crack habit, and an expensive one at that!

Of course it's been BFN and no surprise... although I didn't have any problems conceiving DD1 (1st time, age 36) I'm now lots older (42) and my eggs are senior citizens.Am still holding out hope though!

Everyone's posts are so funny and inspiring. I'm hoping other people's luck will rub off on me. I'm not just desperate for a 2nd baby because they're lovely I keep worrying about things like when my only daughter has to begrudgingly visit me AGAIN in the old age home because there's no one else to visit me! So I now feel I have a moral duty to have a 2nd child!!! :)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 28/04/2012 22:52

Hi Suzy

Can't believe you are testing everyday. What brand test are you using? It must be costing you a fortune.

suzydelarosa · 28/04/2012 23:22

Hi 'WHenSheWas..' - sadly I'm using all the expensive ones, think I've spent about £80 so far. I can excuse it as it's my only vice - no drinking, smoking or carbs... so this is it!

LittleMissSnowShine · 29/04/2012 06:59

Welcome suzy! 42 def doesnt make you a senior citizen and fx for you that you'll get your BFP soon. But if it was me i'd save the money from the tests, buy a couple of packs out of poundland and put the money you save towards a mum-to-be spa day Grin thinkin positive!!

Morning ladies - hope everyone well? How you doing morecoffee? Im shattered!! Murder mystery dinner went v well but i've a mountain of dishes to do and DS has a sore ear so been up with him since half 6 but yes managed to dtd again last night. Hee im kind of enjoying all the shagging but this long cycle is wearing me out! CD26 here...

tedmundo · 29/04/2012 09:23

I am away this weekend so can't type much on stupid phone..

But wanted to tell morecoffee that I wad so sad to hear Af has arrived. Gutted foryou. Hope the pain has lessened by now.

Welcome to suzy. You are not old my sweet. In my area you would be considered a gym slip mom. No one bats an eyelid round here at babies in your forties.

Went on loads of white knuckle rides yesterday. Assume not a problem as not even Poss to be preg yet. And I am a big kid at heart. Also drank wine and forgot to take folic. Whoops.

Hai1988 · 29/04/2012 10:28

Hi everyone.

Should really not leave it so long between posts as theres so much to catch up on.

Really sorry to morecoffee that af arrived was so sure u would get bfp, but maybe u still can get a may bfp as tecnically u havnt had a may af yet.

Also sorry to anyone else who got an unwanted vist from the red witch Angry

Curious fx for u hope thar line gets darker as the days go on and the pinkness disapears.

With me i just need someone to tell me im not a complete cow for going out and having a few drinks and even a bit of a ciggy friday night!

Has been the first night out drinking for two years and really needed a laught with my bestie.

Thought i may aswell do it b4 i cant :)
But was supposed to wait until i knew i coulfnt be pg but it didnt work out like that, wanted to just do something on impluse ya know,

So what im trying to say is am i a total cow for doing this?

morecoffeemorecoffee · 29/04/2012 10:57

Welcome suzy fx for you. Buy yourself some cheap pee sticks from Amazon and save your cash!

Glad the murder mystery night went well littlemiss

Thanks ted and hai and littlemiss

I'm ok. Spent the morning with my head in the loo. Can't stop being sick. At least not in pain now. Not looking forward to work tonight :(

Good to see everyone is hard at it! Looking forward to seeing the bfps coming in! :)

May bfp unlikely for me as my cycles are so long. Going to start temping on tues and got 60 opks to pee on this cycle so I will catch the egg again, but this time it will stick!

How are you doing georgie ?

RIBS · 29/04/2012 11:17

Welcome newbies. Glad ur feeling more positive @morecoffee and being looked after. Fingers crossed 4u Georgie.
@hai i was out with the girls last nite, I wouldn't worry about it. My chemist told me anything u put in your body 2 wks after conception makes no difference.
Iv had lovely morn. Despite hangover. Dd came in 4 cuddle. DP got up with her then nipped up 4 a quickie, did the winkle then he made me a fry up. Bliss.

It looks like I'm oving so hope we've done it this month.

curiousgeorgie · 29/04/2012 11:27

Well, AF got me again. I'm moving house in three weeks and so think I'm going to just quit the baby making.

I just wanted to be pregnant by the original due date before I miscarried.... I feel so upset because I was always planning to have a small age gap between my two children and now I know it won't happen.

Sorry to be miserable! I'll be okay tomorrow xxxx

morecoffeemorecoffee · 29/04/2012 11:46

winkle2 · 29/04/2012 12:31

Hello all

Really sorry georgie

I had a university reunion last night and I had about 15 vodkas Blush

RightUpMyRue · 29/04/2012 12:40

Georgie Sad gutted for you. Really thought it was looking good with the faint line yesterday, so sorry. We're also moving in about 3 weeks, on the 19th. Stressed much? Hell yes.

LittleMissSnowShine · 29/04/2012 16:47

I've been feeling really queasy for last 3 days and I was just reading about how OV makes yr progesterone levels rise. I was so sick when.I was pg with DS the midwives told me it was the progesterone nearly poisoning me. So maybe the queasiness is progestetone-related and maybe I really did just OV? Fx for me!! But long wait to find out if all the dtd has worked....

suzydelarosa · 29/04/2012 20:21

hi - AF is due on Wednesday, it's Sunday night... should I POAS? Also can someone advise if it's better to POAS in morning or evening... i've heard that hormones increase during the day so nighttime better, but everthing in the past has said morning. Grateful for your thoughts...

Am holding out as long as I can to try to save money!

winkle2 · 29/04/2012 20:25

Suzy test for Pregnancy first think in the morning. Good luck!!

suzydelarosa · 29/04/2012 20:27

Thank you winkle... I feel no symptoms at the moment but then I didn't for the last two pregnancies (one stuck, one didn't). Only started being really nauseous around 8 weeks.. Anyway I am crossing my fingers..

RightUpMyRue · 29/04/2012 20:32

Suzy, it's best to test for pregnancy first thing in the morning, when your pee is at its most concentrate and for ovulation in the afternoon/evening when your body has had a chance to synthesize the hormone.

3 days before AF is due is pretty early to test. I think I'd wait till at least tomorrow morning if I were you.

suzydelarosa · 29/04/2012 20:34

Thanks RightUp... I've been foolishly POASing like some crazy addict so I'm going to try to wait til Tuesday, maybe even Wednesday and will try in the am.

Must try to distract myself until then... ho hum!

Thanks!

toobreathless · 29/04/2012 21:30

Welcome to the newbies suzy & dogeared

morecoffee hope you are feeling a little better this evening?

Georgie so sorry, good luck with the house move.

Sounds like everyone else has had far more interesting weekends than me. Highlight of ours was a first birthday party & now the inlaws are here for five days!

AF arrived this morning, I am actually really pleased. I now know where we stand so to speak after having the implanon out. Think I've also chilled out a bit over the past few days.

LittleMissSnowShine · 29/04/2012 21:56

Breathless - welcome to CD1 of what will hopefully be a v regular cycle and a May BFP, hope AF buggers off for u again soon!

Ladies, i've got chocolate, tv and flannel pjs on. Im on CD26 and im declaring the epic shag fest over or at least on hiatus, fx thats been enough!
