Had a search for a may BFP thread and couldn't see one (please correct me if there is!) so thought I'd start one..

Oh no .. Winkle ... I only just saw your post. please believe me hon ... It is far far too early to test if you are due on Tues, even if you had used your most potent pee this morning. Don't take this test as anything other than pee target practice.

Enjoy a Glass or two tonight and try again testing next week.

There is a really good website that talks about when HPT can actually work and truly most are utter shite until at least the day af is due, most for the day after.

I will try to dig it out for you.

winkle with DS I had a BFN with FR test 2 days before AF was due and then a BFP 4 days later! So don't give up just yet!

Ok, can someone who uses Clearblue digital OV test reassure me. I need to know I am not completely useless and am doing it right. So - hold the urine in for 4 hours then test around 2pm... That's right, isn't it? Does that little smiley thing actually exist????

What CD are you on? I get my smiley on CD 16 /18.

Thanks winkle I am on CD22. I have longer cycles, last one was 38 days. So maybe tomorrow or sunday. We have visitors all weekend and DH out tonight so no chance to DTD...

Well Fertility Friend changed it's mind as to what DPO I was on and yesterday jumped me from 8DPO to 10DPO so despite repeating to myself all the way home that I wouldn't POAS as it was far too early and stupid, as soon as I walked through the door of course I did Blush and of course it was a BFN. I felt like shouting at it "I just want to see two lines damn you!".

Not feeling overly optimistic today as I have a tiny bit of brown spotting when I wipe and am very slightly crampy, but I don't know if my mind is working overtime looking for every symptom?! My temps are still up but as it's the first month I've temped, (and the first month I know I've ovulated as the temps are undisputable - yay!), so I don't know what a normal chart is like for me, or how long my luteul phase is, so at least next month I'll know better. Every cloud and all that. The only hope I'm clinging to is that normally before AF I'm a bitch quite grumpy, and yesterday and today I'm in a super good mood!

Hi ted just had a look at your link. I think I will wait a few more days before I test again.

Yes thought it was a chemical pregnancy last time, but as nothing happened after, no AF, then I thought not Confused
I don't actually know when AF is due as my cycles vary so much. Think I will test again Tuesday.

Hi everyone, I just made a thread and posted this....

A few months ago I was ttc and a week before AF was due started getting brown spotting that never really went away, a positive pregnancy test and then a miscarriage 7 weeks later.

I'm ttc again, it's a few days before AF due and I'm having the same brown sludgy spotting. I'm half happy because the last time this happened I was pregnant, but mostly terrified because it also led to miscarriage. My first pregnancy I had no spotting at all and everything was perfect.

Can anyone advise?

Is this a bad sign or just a pregnancy sign or nothing? I'm actually driving myself crazy. Thanks.

Thought it might be worthwhile also posting it here in our thread! I've also suddenly got sore breasts and niggly pains down low.

I'm going mad.

Morecoffee - fingers crossed for you! It would be really odd for it to happen twice, hoping this is your month!

Winkle - some people don't get a bro until a few days after AF is due, so there's still so much hope.

Georgie I think it is difficult to tell. It does sound possible that you could be preg. My friend had these symptoms with both her pregnancies and they were fine.

If it was me, I would take it easy this weekend. And then retest Mon/tues.

I can't take it that easy... I'm packing to move, have someone staying and a big family birthday tonight and Sunday! God how annoying is ttc!!

georgie you know what you're feeling could be early PG symptoms but you also know they could be AF symptoms or even MC symptoms. The only thing that is going to conclusively tell you what is happening is time. You can while away that time here, with us, going slowly bonkers about what's happening in your pants Smile

It's the most frustrating thing ever: Having to wait whilst not knowing what is going on. It drives you demented. You truly have my sympathies, it's very distracting, a constant thought in the back of your mind...am I PG? Was that cramp a baby, AF or wind?! Are my boobs sore or am I making them sore because I'm thinking about them being sore?

If I were I know I'd be testing in the morning but I have no willpower when it comes to not testing early.

Georgie - Like you never had any spotting with first preg so don't really know but sore boobs def sounds like an early sign... fx for you!

Hope everyone has a good Fri night, i've been running around all day visiting friends with DS, makign a cheesecake cos we're doing a murder mystery dinner 2m night and cooking dinner atm befor ei go out to a friend doing a book reading of her novel, still going to somehow have to fit dtd in later tho in case that ewcm yesterday actually meant i was OV on CD23..... tired.... zzzzz Wink

Hi open minded .. Cheapo Internet strips for me so not sure about the smiley face. but I have done all opks after not peeing for between 1 to 2 hrs and had strong postitives. HTH.

I have never had a BFP before af due, even on the brands that make you gasp in pain at the checkout when you see the total price. Therefore will wait til the 8 th to see if there is a line occurring!

I've just been to the loo and there was a slight pinkness when I wiped :( I'm at work and feel so worried that AF is coming. :(

morecoffee HUGS. I'm still up, proper night owl & adjusting to starting nights on Monday. Hang on in there. Try not to assume the worst, might be AF or hopefully might not be. Just so damn frustrating that in this day & age when we have so much control over other aspects offer life there is so little we can actually do isn't there?

I'm up Morecoffee- try not to lose hope- it might not be AF. It sucks to be dealing with these things at work.

I'm currently pissed off. My DP isn't in the mood- doesn't want to feel pressured. Arsehole! In his defence, we said we'd be really relaxed about it until the wedding but I can't stop thinking it's f*cking cd14- I've got a bit of cm, though not really egg-whitey. I don't want to put pressure on him- but I want a baby!!

I hope this finds everyone well & those on the 2ww aren't going too stir crazy. Still nowt here, DH having a ball though, he is a 'once a day please' sort of man & is very much enjoying TTC. I on the other hand am exhausted!

I have had a little flirtation with OPKs from Wilks, they were £2.77 for 5 (is this reasonable?) Thinking of getting Clear blue monitor if we don't conceive fairly soon, we shall see. I like the idea of a smiley as my mind is very capable of seeing what I want to see with lines!

Thought some of you might be interested to hear that with DD I stated doing Internet cheapie preg tests at 2 days after I missed my period. DH finally lost his rag & bought me a clear blue digi at 4 days as Internet sticks were negative & I was being foul :) it was positive. It took another NINE days for Internet stocks to show positive!

I'm so sorry hun- that's crap news. 16 months is a long time and there really seems to be no rhyme or reason why some people have more luck than others. Be gentle with yourself today.

My DP has already left for work, he's out tonight to earliest possible chance for us to dtd is Sunday (cd16). I'm trying to tell myself that as we didn't dtd till very late on cd12, then it could almost count as cd13, but I realise I'm just being a knob. I can't be too cross with him- we said we wouldn't 'try try' until after the wedding and that before then we'd just not use protection and see what happens- i just get carried away easily.

I don't want to put him off ttc before we've even begun!! Xx
