Had a search for a may BFP thread and couldn't see one (please correct me if there is!) so thought I'd start one..

Anyone with me?

Stephie don't think PCOS will ever go away so to speak BUT the best way of improving the symptoms & I suspect the tendency to develop cysts is to lose weight. 6 stone is amazing! Being significantly overweight in itself can also effect fertility so you have done very well losing the weight. Your DP doesn't sound overly supportive though, does he know it takes the average couple 6-8 months to conceive?

Lots more to say but dashing out to get DDs jabs so will pop back in later.

winkle2 · 24/04/2012 12:56

tedmundo - LOL I was the same with my hubs towards the end - could not be bothered! But soldiered on!

What CD are you on? And what days have you DTD?

I'm on CD 23 and DTD CD 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17 and 18!!

CraftyGirly · 24/04/2012 13:21

tedmundo know how you feel! after my +OPKs at the weekend I expected to see a temp rise by now but my chart is still up and down like like a yoyo Angry hope this doesnt mean another month in a row I am not going to OV, I am starting to get a bit worried :( I was on the pill since I was 16 till now so have no idea if I've ever OVd in my life, is it possible to have periods and NEVER OV? I am really starting to panic now...

wunnybunny · 24/04/2012 13:25

it was due to stress and excercise but im doing well swi from now though lol

OpenMindedSceptic · 24/04/2012 13:53

wunny hope you're feeling ok! Shock

joyful you can always add the testing day later Smile

hai aaaw, that's very kind of her!

CD19 here - still no smiley face (taps fingers impatiently)

tedmundo · 24/04/2012 14:36

winkle I am on cd16. Managed to DTD so far on ... Deep breathe ... Cd7 9 11 13 14 and 15. But as it looks like I will ov tomorrow, my testing date will shift to the 10th I think. I will repost the testing list next time I am on the pc. iPad rubbish for stuff like that.

Will DTD again tonight and then just leave it. My DH calls it 'pretty woman' sex ... No kissing!

craftygirl I don't do temping so cannot help you on that but I was on pill for years and years before ds1 and got preg within 3 months of coming off. Please don't worry ... There is no reason to think you are not ovulating. That is why I don't temp ... Just assume I will as the odds are more in favour of ov ing that not IYSWIM

Also my mornings do not start gently so temping impossible!

2 ww ... You distant dream you.

morecoffeemorecoffee · 24/04/2012 14:39

crafty not sure tbh, but I know when you've been on the pill aong time it can take a while for your body to settle back down again.

tedmundo I know what you mean! We have been going for it eod mostly, but have managed every day at times since march 20th! we are both fed up now and just want to know now! We are all shagged out in the morecoffee house and its a bloody decaff morecoffee house aswell atm! Arrgghhh! Due to test beginning of next week or this weekend if I test early.

StephieFranks · 24/04/2012 14:47

Toobreathless it was just a blood test all those years ago when they declared i had PCOS no scan etc, so maybe it wasn't that accurate a diagnosis in the first place?!

DH has certainly lived to regret that comment i can tell you that for sure :) Bless him he is supportive in his own special way - it's a different dynamique i think cos it's all new territory for me and he's done it before Confused

Crafty Don't panic - you may just be having technical difficulties with your temping!

CraftyGirly · 24/04/2012 15:01

thanks guys, I'm trying not to stress but it's easier said than done! grr want my 2ww to be over and done with! talk about wishing your life away lol

roll on May when we can all get on with testing!

LittleMissSnowShine · 24/04/2012 15:09

Stephie - I've got PCOS and tbh I've read up quite a lot of stuff over last 5 or 6 years since i was told about it. Def keeping your BMI in the healthy range, eating healthily and getting some exercise helps a lot in terms of regulating your hormones, which is what would show up in your blood work. Despite the fact that it's called polycystic ovarian syndrome, there are some women with PCOS who don't even get cysts on their ovaries (tho i do), and recent research thinks that the cysts are just a symptom of what is really causing the whole thing. Just like everyone with the flu might have different symptoms (some people might be queasy, others have a temp, others sneezing all the time etc), not all women get all the same pcos symptoms so whether u have a scan or not doesn't actually matter all that much. There's some good resources to check out over here: forum.verity-pcos.org.uk/ Just keep it in mind if you're having any probs ttc that if you were told u were PCOS before, even if your recent bloodwork is showing improved hormone balance, PCOS could still be a factor in making it slightly more difficult to get pg and you should be able to skip some of the waiting list to get a referral (if u want one)

Crafty - Yes it is possible to have your period even if you haven't OV, but don't panic! I'm crap at temp-ing, so I'd be chalking it up to technical difficulties on that front rather than panicking that your temp hasn't spiked so that means you're not OV. It's more likely to be your thermometer playing up hopefully

ted - ha ha, pretty woman sex, i love that! DH hasn't seen pretty woman but if he had he def would have described last night like that, wasn't really in the mood but thought we'd probably better dtd again anyway. so we did and it was fun, but too conscious of the fact that my alarm was going off at 6.45 to bother with much kissing lol

Jealous of ladies with regular cycles / accurate temp charts / positive OPKs who know when they're in their 2WW and can stop dtd. I should be in my 2WW to but not sure if I've even OV this month so going to keep determinedly dtd right up until AF arrives. If AF arrives. Which, hopefully, it won't! But I'm going to literally be shagged out!!!

StephieFranks · 24/04/2012 15:16

Yes - we must all Keep Calm and Carry on Shagging :)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 24/04/2012 15:38

Can I join please?

Not had a period since May 2010 (breastfeeding). Had a positive opk yesterday morning. Swi last night but opk was negative this morning. Does this mean I haven't really ovulated?????

Will be testing on 8th May but not too hopeful (would be a bit of a miracle if we caught the first egg).

Fingers crossed for everyone.

LittleMissSnowShine · 24/04/2012 15:54

Dunno how accurate OPKs whenshewasbad - i've been told they often don't work at all for women with pcos, for example, but there's other things that can cause them to go wonky too, so maybe if you've just given up b/f your hormone levels might still be a bit skewiff? I wouldn't worry tho, take Stephie's advice above and Keep Calm and Carry on Shagging Wink

Welcome to our thread btw!!

PS - is it a week today til our first testers start poas? Georgie, morecoffee, Dexi and breathless all up to bat very soon...come on BFPs!!

morecoffeemorecoffee · 24/04/2012 16:47

Yes littlemiss I think I Ov on 13th ish so going to test on 1st. Not long now! Let's hope we get some bfps I don't want to join the June thread :(

winkle2 · 24/04/2012 18:17

Whenshewasbad - the OV sticks pick up the hormone surge before you OV. That surge can only last a short while. Therefore it's normal to have a positive one day and a negative the next. That happened to me this month so don't worry :)

toobreathless · 24/04/2012 19:55

Joyful: I had the ectopic in May 2010, we had planned to TTC when DH got back from Afghanistan & I missed days 1 & 2 of my pill packet & conceived. He was away when the ectopic was diagnosed. I was lucky enough to fall pregnant the month he returned & DD was born April 2011.

Don't think May is going to be our month, no sign of AF, or

toobreathless · 24/04/2012 19:58

Oops...silly phone!

...or ovulation. Think we continue DTD every other day if we can and POAS weekly from 1st May until AF does turn up or we get a BFP.

winkle hope you are enjoying a well deserved break, how is the 2ww treating you?

winkle2 · 24/04/2012 22:40

2WW is fine :) Planning on taking a FRER on friday as have drinks planned this weekend. I feel very positive but then worry I'm setting myself up for a fall :S

toobreathless · 24/04/2012 23:29

Friday....ooohhhh! That is only 2 days away :)
Am assuming FRER stands for First Response something or other? Any symptoms?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 24/04/2012 23:31

Thanks Littlemiss

Am trying for no 2. I think you might be right about hormones being a bit crazy at moment. Am getting really bad backache today. Feels like period pain - could it be ovulation related (never had it before) or maybe just body going back to normal after breastfeeding.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 24/04/2012 23:35

Winkle

Thanks for the info. Very reassuring. Promised myself I would not obsess when ttc no 2 but am going quietly crazy already.

Fingers crossed for those testing soon.

winkle2 · 25/04/2012 09:04

FRER is first response early response or something!! I have no symptoms and as Friday edges closer my positivity is starting to go...

tedmundo · 25/04/2012 09:18

Be positive winkle.... No reason to think it won't be your time.

Quote of the week ....

DH: "I feel like a lab rat!"

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 25/04/2012 09:36

Be positive Winkle. You probably wouldn't have any symptoms yet.
