what absolutely lovely news - hurrah for the new snug babies!! Congratulations to fireflies and lol on the safe arrival of your little boys. Enjoy the snuggles and settling in.

Waves to everyone who remembers me; my little blue Jollybean waved (or could have been sticking his fingers up) at me yesterday at my consultant appt. All going ok here.

Jollster 44, DS1 4y1m, awaiting DS2 (25+4) after nearly 3 years TTC and 5MCs.

xx

hippychick66 · 26/06/2012 07:24

Can't really top what everyone has said - and Italian's comment is ever so pretty, so I will simply say - LOL you did it at 46 whoop whoop - that is what this thread is all about. Much much love to adorable Teddy. Rest up and pop him into the snug to play with all the other little 40+ babies often. XXXXXXX

randomimposter · 26/06/2012 07:36

also meant to say blackcats I know how you must be feeling :( Have I remembered that we live quite close to each other? BeeRightOn? If you wanted to meet for a coffee or have a chat sometime PM me?

Also special wave to Curly, does anyone have any news of her?

TinaO99 · 26/06/2012 10:49

woohoo many congratulations to fireflies and lol as others have said please don't lose touch and keep us up to date with your lovely babies, hopefully some more of us will join you soon!

On the other hand hugs to those who've lost theirs recently, gum hope you're ok?

knickyknocks · 26/06/2012 12:05

lol wonderful news - and gorgeous name! Welcome to the world little man.

A safe arrival is just wonderful news.
FF hope you're all doing well and back home now. Be lovely to hear how you're getting on at some point - though appreciate you may not have the chance to update for a while.
blackcats it's so rotten that chem pg business. I had one last month, my 3rd now. We've starting trying again this month, but know how you feel when you say that a BFP isn't the wonderful exciting time it once was. It's all too easy to get carried away imagining how wonderful it may be, then to have it crashing down a few days later. Hopefully our time will come soon when things will go to plan xxxxx

As for me, taking my vitamins, DTD at the right time and hoping this will be my month. I'm 4 months past my 40th birthday now, and TTC for about 18 months. Starting to feel as if it's never going to happen and wondering whether I need to put a date on when to stop trying (have no idea if I'd be able to follow through with it though.....)

Much love to all xxxxxxx

somewherebecomingrain · 26/06/2012 14:12

knickyknocks surely to early to give up when we hear stories like jollster? I know why you would say that though - it's just such a rollercoaster. I've not even been on it long.

Have DTD x3 (good effort from DP) but it may have been wasted - I keep forgetting to do my OPKs so don't know if i'm ovulating. This is the equivalent of going up the slope slowly on the rollercoaster. I feel calm, alert, physically on reasonable form right now. In about a week's time it'll be different.... but i'm going to live for now.

Lovely lovely lovely about these babies Smile

good luck to everyone, treat yourself kindly if you are in that rough phase when it doesn't happen - or if you've had an MC (I've not had one (yet) so I don't know what it's like but my sister did).

twirlyagogo · 26/06/2012 14:39

With all this good news around, you know what? Think I'll have another bash Grin

knickyknocks · 26/06/2012 16:05

Grin at twirly, you're right, I'm hoping this good news is infectious!

somewhere, I've just started in the 2WW, but you're right, with all these lovely ladies on here getting diffed up, surely it can't be too late yet and too early to give up. I promise to keep my chin up. Early days, lets see what the next couple of weeks brings. Will keep my fingers crossed for you too that you DTD at just the time you needed to. Sounds hopeful with 3 times...keep up the good work somewheres partner!

somewherebecomingrain · 26/06/2012 16:16

go for it twirly x
yes knicknocks the 2WW - that's the abbreviation. That's where i'm at now. just did an OPK and it was negative so i may have completely mistimed this one, or DP will have to galvanise himself for another go. I can't believe I'm writing this.

can I ask a question - when's the best time to do the opk? the leaflet says in the morning but on here i've seen it said afternoon is better.

twirlyagogo · 26/06/2012 16:35

Right - here goes Grin . . .

well, I'll start next month as have probably missed the boat this time, but I won't get a little Teddy of my own if I don't even try now, will I?

See you en route knicky x

blackcatsdancing · 26/06/2012 17:34

yes go for it twirly. I'm trying again (age 44).

twirlyagogo · 26/06/2012 17:56

You're a spring chicken blackcats! I like the idea of getting a very positive, optimistic push again with this lovely news.

Diege · 26/06/2012 18:29

Hello! Loving all the positivity on here Smile. If old lol can do it at 45 there's hope for us all Wink. I am of course not including myself in this as I am totally done (in) with babies, but will enthusiastically support from the sidelines!

twirlyagogo · 26/06/2012 19:38

TTC cheerleaders - fantastic, we have it all! I may even shave my legs tonight (below knees only, don't want to go mad Wink) and possibly not go straight into the old jammies after my bath. I can feel a plan coming on . . .

10000fireflies · 26/06/2012 22:20

Evening ladies

Just dropped in to say a huge congratulations to Lol on the safe arrival of Teddy. Such lovely news! Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks. Has been lovely to share the journey with another threadster with such a close due date.

I know it's not all good news on here, so just to let you know am thinking of you all, especially those dealing with recent bad news.

Will be back when I can find some time to catch up properly.... will that be ever??!! DH already back to work tomorrow which is grim as only got home from hospital late last night.

Hugs to all.

FF xx

sparklysapphire · 27/06/2012 07:13

dashing in again to say many congratulations to lol on the birth of Teddy. xxx
No time to do anything at the moment as work is so busy but Im stil here,& will hopefully be able to catch up properly soon

somewherebecomingrain · 27/06/2012 09:03

twirly - you are hot to trot, sizzling, one sexy lady! Smile. And good luck - rooting for you that this is your month.
knickyknocks really hope that this will be your month - we'll all be here for the rollercoaster wherever it goes.

I'm still not ovulating - makes me think I had a chemical pregnancy last time as it was all very weird, late, and i normally always ovulate on the 17th.

somewherebecomingrain · 27/06/2012 09:03

i mean the 17th day of the cycle, not 17th of the month

resipsa · 27/06/2012 10:53

This looks like a great thread to join, particularly at the moment so hello everyone .

I'm 41 and TTC#2. DD is 17 months (yup, had her when I was 40+) and I had a MMC in March Sad so the body seems to be willing even if fate had to stick her oar in unexpectedly.

So pleased to read about all of the babies on here!

knickyknocks · 27/06/2012 10:59

somewhere I always do my ovulation pee on a stick mid to late afternoon. I've known the sticks to be blank in the morning then a smiley in the afternoon. Last month when that happened we DTD that night and I got a BFP - unfortunately it was a chem preg as I started bleeding a few days later. Funnily enough though, it seems that peeing on a stick this month shows that I started the ov process a couple of days before I normally would, so caught me a bit unaware. Still managed to DTD though (hubby's shift working doesn't always allow for us to be completely right on time). Fingers crossed for this month.

FF wow - hubby back to work so soon? I'm hoping that you have some support from family or friends though too. That said, you can do it though, you'll be a wonderful mummy. Teddy is such a lucky boy.

lol wonderful fantastic news Flowers. Congratulations to you and a big welcome to the world to your darling little boy.

I'm now about 4 DPO so early days in that 2WW. It's all made a little more tricky as I always have one eye on the calendar. I was terribly sick with DD, so am always thinking about who will be around to support me if in case I get terribly sick again. Oh well, it's not happened yet, so probably fairly pointless worrying plus I'm sure I can get friends to rally round if I do get up diffed.

Much love to everyone else diege, twirly, italian, angelgeorgie, MAM, irish, sparkly, blackcats, tina, hopefulgum, jollster, hippy

knickyknocks · 27/06/2012 11:02

Sorry resipsa crossed posts. Welcome to the thread. The ladies on here are lovely!

I turned 40 in March and TTC #2 too. Been about 17/18 months now, with 3
chem pgs and 1 m/c. So sorry to hear about your MMC. You must have had a rough time. As you say, at the very least our bodies have proved they can get pregnant, we just have to stay pregnant this time and have a smooth time of it. It is possible, this thread proves it. Hugs and a big welcome,
