Hippy a big old squishy hug for u too. How's the weight loss going? Cx
Miasalexandersmummy sorry you re a big bag of mixed emotions when , by rights you & Mia should be excited together ... It's so unfair & sad. Those happy moments are always tinged with grief? Yes, think the SANDS service was cathartic & allowed me to further grieve but I had buried that pain for some time & you forget how painful & horrible it is? Better to be worked through though. Take care xxxx

Hi all - updated list here. NO chance of this baby coming today :-( so can't update the graduates list, sigh. FF got to 3 cm yet? Read your post from waaaay back, saying you wouldn't want to be induced. Wondering if you'd changed your mind or are still as chilled as you sound?

All thanks for adding/tweaking. Have you noticed how many preggos and graduates there are? Surely the statistics for older women are flawed! I realise how much heartache is hidden in the flippant MC abbreviation - so few of us have been immune - yet there is hope, especially for those who have been told that poor egg reserve means 'no chance'. It doesn't happen for everyone - but it CAN and DOES happen more often than 'they' suggest.

Curly - miss you! Are you lurking? x

MaisieM · 19/06/2012 16:04

Wow, I am really struggling to keep up with everyone's news etc. but it's great to hear such lovely stories and positive messages. Everyone here is so supportive Smile.

Currently on day 14 of this cycle and trying out my new shiny digital monitor thingy. Had to start testing on Day 6 even though I know I don't usually OV until about day 19/20. It gave me a 'high' reading from day 9 which also seems early so I'm all agog to see if I get my peak around the day 19 mark as per the smiley face tests. Hopefully the monitor will get better over subsequent cycles!

DH gave another sample last week, just for peace of mind really, so now awaiting the result of that.

gothinrecovery · 19/06/2012 18:15

Hi all - hugs to everyone that needs one. Just read the stats list, there are a lot of recent graduates/ pgs it would seem, so much for doom and gloom!

Had my appointment with the clinic today as follow up from MC (4 weeks ago at 7 weeks). They said that they didn't think there was any real point trying Clomid or anything similar to boost fertility as I was obviously ov normally, similarly no point going down the IVF route at this stage given natural conception. They also said that given the symptoms I had described for a late period a few months ago it was probable my recent MC was actually MC no.2 not 1. They basically just said keep trying and there was a decent chance I would be able to get pg again and gave me lifestyle tips (which were obvious).

On minus side pretty sure not pg this month as feel as though AF is about to start. Oh well there's always next.

Still going to be lurking rather than on here loads but hope everyone is okay.

Irishmammybread · 19/06/2012 19:28

hi, can i join this thread?
I'm 44, have DS 19, DD1 12, DD2 8, had a MC at 11 wks in March, got pregnant again after first AF and unfortunately had another MC last week at approx 6 weeks.
I had an AMH test to check ovarian reserve after the first miscarriage and got a low normal, apparently not bad for someone my age.
It's very encouraging to read all the success stories, it makes me feel there's still hope!

lolfactor · 19/06/2012 20:32

Welcome, Irish - great name. And how encouraging to have such a terrific AMH result! Mine was 'very poor' at your age. Not that the baby seems to mind. Let's hope your stay on this thread is a short one.

lolfactor · 19/06/2012 20:35

Goth that's really encouraging. You seem to get pregnant quite easily. Now it's waiting for the right egg, I guess, but everything seems really positive Smile

lolfactor · 19/06/2012 20:36

Maisie thank god for the technology. When you're ttc you need the distraction!

MaisieM · 19/06/2012 21:02

lolfactor - Oh, absolutely, I've got my little morning routine all sorted Wink

10000fireflies · 19/06/2012 22:27

Evening all

Just popping in for a final hello before heading off for induction tomorrow.

Lol fabulous list my lovely. Thank you for doing. Think it is really impressive reading to see all the successes. We do seem to be defying the odds. Smile

Hi Hippy! Waves to the skinny looking dudette on IOW.

And Angel I barely recognised you. Smile

Diege what?s the latest? Hoping for good news.

Maisie hope your monitor does the trick. There are plenty of top tips available from various peeps on here if DH?s results come back a little below par. Declining infertility in older men is regularly overlooked. Not something the Daily Mail covers, whereas they are more than happy to regularly sensationalise similar issues for women.

Goth sorry is not looking great for you this month, but your overall chances sound good.

Irishmammy welcome! You?re right, there?s plenty of hope to share out here, and you?re in a good position to start with.

I'd forgotton until pulling up at the hospital on Sunday, that 9 months ago I was starting tests for immune issues. Was getting good embryos from IVF but failed to implant. Had never been pregnant up until that point, but by the time I'd started those tests finally was expecting.... Must remember how lucky I've been when they won't give me an epidural. Grin

Hugs and fertile thoughts to all. FF xx

gothinrecovery · 19/06/2012 22:30

lolfactor - not that easily unfortunately as took 4 years of ttc to get there despite no obvious problems - having said that things do now appear to be sort of working. I hope! I think part of it was that having been on pill for over 20 years it took time for it to work itself out.

Irish - great name!

Positive thoughts all round :)

hippychick66 · 19/06/2012 22:48

FF - PUSH!!!!!! All the best, Sweetie. X

hopefulgum · 20/06/2012 00:07

Hello everyone. Haven't been around much, but have been trying to keep up. Can't wait to hear the details FF.

Lol, thanks for the data. When I first read it I felt a little sad, but only selfishly - seeing 3 mc next to my name. When I started ttc two years go, I really thought it was just a matter of time, but didn't expect it to be this long, and never thought, for a second, that I may even have to give up the dream and move on. I really thought perserverence (sp?) would do the trick. Not so sure now.

However, the list of preggos and successes proves that it is possible to have a baby in our forties, and I did actually already do that at 41+9. I'm just being greedy, wanting, just one more.(smile)

Welcome to newbies on the thread. Irishmammy, my AMH was considered too low but I've since fallen pregnant twice (they were miscarriages, but still, I did conceive), so I'd say you're in with an excellent chance.

Yesterday at work was a long, exhausting, emotional day. One of our lovely collegues(and a friend) died suddenly. It seems he had a heart attack while out riding his bike. He was a Phys ed teacher - very fit and slim, so it was a real shock. In his late 50's - was a very energetic, upbeat guy.So loved. The whole school was so shaken. We have a 1000 students, many of whom really liked him, so we had a lot of sadness to deal with, whilst trying to hold it together ourselves. At one point I went into the loos and sobbed. Not only feeling awful for his family, but it does bring up stuff about other losses in your life, doesn't it? I felt so sad, but it has also had me thinking about what is important. And of course it comes down to the people you love. I can't help feeling that I should continue ttc because nothing is more important to me than family.

Sorry - I'm raving.

Can't wait to hear about the new babies in the snug.

Deige - have you got your results? Thinking of you sweetie.

Thanks for everyone.Smile

Italiangreyhound · 20/06/2012 00:54

Hugs Gum.

Diege · 20/06/2012 08:54

Hi all! Thanks for thinking of me, and all the support from this thread - got the test results last night and ok-ish...smear was actually normal but did test positive for a high-risk strain of hpv, so they will want to do regular follow-ups to test for abnormalities due to the high-risk strain I have. I feel ok - quite relieved actually - as I've obviously had this virus for many years and in hindsight this is what must have given me so many CIN results (grades 1-3) and also several clear smears too. I must now try to keep the virus dormant by strengthening my immune system (I know it's been pretty weak post-birth as I've caught everything under the sun from the dcs) as it's currently 'active' (the virus) but hasn't caused any dodgy cell changes yet. But I did have mild abnormailties in March, so have requested a smear in 6 months as opposed to the 12 months they recommended (which they were happy to comply with!). I jokingly suggested to dh that we should try to squeeze another baby out before they whip out everything - he didn't say anything but was I think mildly tempted by the thought of lots of shagging Grin
Fireflies wow, today is the day (and a lovely sunny one too). So excited for you xxx
How are you feeling Lol? Thinking of you x
Gum good to hear from you - and so sorry for the awful news about your colleague, what a shock that must have been Sad You're right about family, and if you feel that for you it's worth pursuing ttc-ing, then I say go for it (I would!). Did you ever tell dh about the last pregnancy after all?
Irish welcome aboard!
Hi Goth! Maisie fingers crossed for your dh's test results - enjoy your new ttc toys!
Working from home today as dd3 was sick in the night and still feeling very hot. Love to all xxx

Diege · 20/06/2012 08:55

AngelGeorgie · 20/06/2012 17:44

Gum another reminder of how short life is & how we should do everything we want do... Xxx
