Hi everyone!

Just wondering if anyone is trying for baby number 2?

I've been 'sort of' trying for two months, but this month am really determined! I think i'm supposed to ovulate this wednesday, so BD'd today, yesterday... etc!!

I have a 15 month old DD....

'get' even!

ConfusedMumDotCom · 23/01/2012 21:26

Congratulations madaboutmen

I'm toying with the idea of testing tomorrow. AF due on Wednesday, really want to know, but if I do test and get a bfn, then that's a day of hope gone. Arrrgh, any advice ladies?

madaboutmadmen · 23/01/2012 22:02

do you feel like you could be pregnant? my belly is bloated like a balloon already. Boobs are swelling too Grin. It won't make any diff if you wait so give yourself another day if you're happy with that.

ConfusedMumDotCom · 24/01/2012 07:47

I cracked and got a BFN Sad. Never mind, it's not over until AF arrives. However, with dd I tested on AF due day and it was so faint I thought it was an evaporation line, so there is still hope! Grin

Good luck everyone else.

Brambule · 24/01/2012 12:20

Congrats madaboutmadmen and good luck with next test ConfusedMum.

Am surround by friends/family/work colleagues who are pregnant. It's making me so broody I think my ovaries could self combust any second. Never anticipated getting as baby obsessed with ttc2 as I did DD1.

madaboutmadmen · 24/01/2012 18:13

Thanks Brambule.

Confused, as you say there's still time yet. I think I ovulate early which would explain thr early positive too, maybe you ovulate a bit later? keeping everything crossed for you and that AF doesn't visit either of us in the next few days! Wink

ConfusedMumDotCom · 24/01/2012 19:15

That could be true. Since my periods returned after dd my cycle length has varied from 26 to 29 days. It is day 27 tomorrow, soooo it may have been a little early. Also, I haven't broken out in pre-menstral acne this month, so either I am pregnant, or I've got unexpectedly clear skin. Win winWink

RunningKatie · 24/01/2012 20:03

We've started ttc dc2, dd is 1 in a fortnight and I'm 37 next week so we decided we'd best get on with it!

I was on the pill for 3.5 months, stopped taking it on new years eve and have had one AF since then so now have vague idea of when I'll be ovulating next.

DoodleAlley · 24/01/2012 20:35

Can I join in please? We've got a bigger age gap than most on here. Were meant to try last year but I had a tricky year with health stuff so here we are now.

DS took stupidly short time to conceive but then I was younger and had super regular periods. Had massively irregular periods since then. Went to drs and after checks indicated nothing obvious causing them he just said it could seriously affect my fertility. But no advice.

So TTC but feeling v despondent about it all esp tonight as also ill and in no mood for any trying.

Sorry to be quite so eeyore-ish.

RichardAndJudysButtPlug · 24/01/2012 21:21

madabout - Grin

Doodle - not eeyorish. It isn't fun having sex when your poorly. I had a cold over the weekend so OH didn't want to kiss me on the mouth (great!) and I couldn't kiss him at all as couldn't breathe through my nose.

That was a fantastic session...as you can imagine.

JumpingFrog · 24/01/2012 21:31

Another friend has told me she is pregnant, that's 5 friends who have announced since christmas...

bzzbee · 25/01/2012 09:04

Hello

Please can I join in?

TTC #2 for 2 years now...aged 39. Beginning to think it might not happen.
Invested in a clearblue fertility monitor in Dec to try and get some extra help. I don't want to go down the intervention route as I feel very lucky to have one beautiful healthy baby (who was an accident so no TTC trauma!) and I understand fertility treatment can really take its toll on one's wellbeing etc.

To anyone planning in minute detail whether to have a summer baby or a 1.8 year age gap etc etc I would recommend just going for it, unfortunately this isn't something we can really control. Though don't blame me if you get lucky at the first attempt!

Fingers crossed for all of us..

DoodleAlley · 25/01/2012 09:12

RichardandJudy - thanks for the pep talk. Determined to be more optimistic this morning!

turnwest · 25/01/2012 10:37

Hi everyone,

I on my 2 nd month ttc, finally decided that i would love child number 2 over christmas so here we are. I am 34 though and my DD is 5 in august, we never planned her, it just happened but I had postnatal depression for a while when she was born and we both said never again! However we love DD so much, we have decided to take the plunge, I am a bit scared though as I have never actually ttc before. Last month was a hellish two weeks of symptom spotting. lol.
My periods have also started going slighly irregular now and i am terrified that i am going to go through an early menopause and wish so much that I had started ttc another child years ago when periods where very regular, has a postive on ovulation test yesterday so went for it last night, DH very happy at thought it can take ages to conceive!!Anyway, thats enough from me, best wishes to everyone!

Bewler · 25/01/2012 14:17

Hi turnwest and bzzbee! Welcome!

Had some friends round for lunch a couple of weeks ago, one of whom had her DD a month after me and we spent our maternity leave hanging out together. She 'fessed up they were just starting TTC#2....I just said I hoped 2012 would bring a pregnancy for us too (no way I'm fessing up to peeing on sticks and knicker checking already!!). Saw the friend a couple of days ago and, yep, pregnant! First month, lucky lady! I am so pleased for her but was suprised how Envy I felt! I'm sure it will happen for us, it only took 4 months for DD but it would have been so lovely to happen straight away. Really trying to ignore the stupid feeling that the pressure is now on somehow...this is not something to get competitive about (cant help it though!). God its nice to be a bit crazy on here though!

bettergetamoveon · 25/01/2012 15:15

Hi, Can I also join you all? We've a ds who is 3 and finally feel ready for another. Took us 9 months to conceive, so really I'm not quite sure why I've been holding off for long to try for another. I'm 36 and may take a while! Hopefully we can all get to know one another, but that it's a short trip from here to the pg threads Smile

DoodleAlley · 25/01/2012 15:37

It's such a strange time in your life isn't it? Wanting something so much but having little effect on whether it happens or not. Not tried out the ovulation tests but will look into them if this months not successful.

With DS I was slightly uncertain and it was only when I knew I was pregnant that I realised I wanted a child.

This time around I've known for a while but been stopped by circumstances. Im not patient at the best of times and this is no exception. I think I need a hobby to distract me other than trawling mn to take my mind off the subject!

Here's hoping for good results for you all.

stabiliser15 · 25/01/2012 16:02

Hi all

We have a DD who turns 1 on Tuesday and decided to TTC #2 recently. DD was an accident so I have no idea whether that means it will be easy or not to conceive. I'm 29 but very overweight which may affect things, and we're on a fertility-improving health kick now!

Am kind of expecting it to be immediate, which is silly. First day of last period was over 5 weeks ago, had some spotting after about 3 weeks which I wondered whether implamentation bleeding, POAS last week but no, but still nothing. Will give it another few days and try again maybe .

Realised something was up with DD when I had sore boobs and very vivid dreams, am convincing myself with every twinge and dream it's a sign!

DoodleAlley · 25/01/2012 16:10

Stabiliser - its easily done. My stomach was off yesterday and I convinced myself it was because I was pg even though the sickness didn't start with DS until 6 weeks!!

Unsurprisingly my stomachs much better today. Well hopefully it'll be good news for all of us soon and we can stop this second guessing!

SootySweepandSue · 25/01/2012 16:14

Just joining in..,,

So in terms of trying, most people are figuring out when they ovulate with thermometers or counting days, then BD on that day or before or after? Why I am trying to ascertain is do you have to BD every day around the middle?

Chunkychicken · 25/01/2012 16:29

As I understand it Sooty you should DTD every other day throughout the fertile period, so you can't 'miss' the egg by stopping or starting too soon... I'm not counting as such - just hoping DH & I have enough stamina to SWI every other day from AF to AF. :o

turnwest · 25/01/2012 16:43

I ve used a mixture of both sooty, I using opk to check when I m ovulating ( because of my early menopause paranoia) but I m trying to dtd every other night during most of my cycle, it's hard getting the energy sometimes though!

bettergetamoveon · 25/01/2012 17:06

Sooty, the last time we two all the time from AF to AF and after 8 months we were worn out! On the 9th cycle we decided to use Ovulation Predictor thingy and just twi 3 times at the right time - then bingo! With one DS already and a erm, low energy and sex drive Blush I'm going down the OPK route again.

bettergetamoveon · 25/01/2012 17:07

I should proof read, I meant TWI and not two

JumpingFrog · 25/01/2012 17:13

So.. Think I ov'd on Monday we DTD Sunday Monday and last night.. Should we do it again tonight to be sure? can't really be bothered.. Grin
