Hi everyone!

Just wondering if anyone is trying for baby number 2?

I've been 'sort of' trying for two months, but this month am really determined! I think i'm supposed to ovulate this wednesday, so BD'd today, yesterday... etc!!

I have a 15 month old DD....

We're ttc #2. DD is 8 months and we tried for nearly 3 years for her. I got Seriously obsessed with charts and temps and opks. Trying not to thus time. Easier said than done.

We were also at fertility clinic last time, although in the end we had a very low level assistance (unstimulated IUI) which meant DD could have been naturally conceived anyway.

Can't go there again as it took me and Dh too close to the edge of sanity and our marriage so praying my womb has got the idea now and dc2 will be easier to conceive.

Hello there. This is my first month of ttc no 2. I have one 5yo boy - it has taken us this long to get our heads around trying for another one. Really.

My fertile days are this weekend and the start of next week - just want it to hurry up!!! We have been planning to start trying in January for the last 6mths so I'm getting impatient. Trying not to get my hopes up though...DS was conceived really quickly and I know that it can be totally different second time round.

Good luck to everybody for this month. Will keep checking in on the thread.

Hi - we're onto our 3rd month of ttc. DD is 2 and came along 1st month of ttc (a total shock as I had spent a fruitless 3 years ttc in a previous relationship).

Trying not to obsess about every ache and twinge (or lack of) but can't help myself.

Good luck to everyone.

ILoveGreggsSausageRolls · 19/01/2012 17:40

I'm TTC #2. Our DD (5 months) to nearly two years to concieve. Fingers crossed it doesn't take that long this time Smile

This is my first cycle. Decided last night to go for it after watching OBEM.

I'm hoping to not symptom spot whatever .

JumpingFrog · 19/01/2012 17:43

2 friends have texted me today to say they're pregnant with number 2.. I am so so happy for them, but it does make me feel anxious for this month >

Bewler · 19/01/2012 21:00

I ordered some OPKs but they haven't arrived yet and I'm on CD7 so reckon I'll just have to get on without them this month! Maybe I can trick my body into thinking that I am not expecting to get pregnant this month because I want to use my shiny new digital OPK next month and sod's law will kick in and it'll happen!

ConfusedMumDotCom · 19/01/2012 22:15

Hi ladies, I'm trying very hard not to symptom spot. I've been having cramps for a few days now, but still 6 days until AF is due. We conceived DD on holiday in the first month of trying. I don't remember the 2WW with her being soooooo long.

Does anyone has any idea when implantation takes place as I guess symptoms don't start till then?

ILoveGreggsSausageRolls · 20/01/2012 20:33

Jumping I know, it always seems to happen for others first.

Bewler Smile fingers crossed

Confused you know I've forgotten all about everything that's goes on.

Well I did an OPK earlier and it's neg. I'm Cd13 so there's time yet. Tbh I cba to have sex tonight, DD decided to wake at 12, 3 and 6 last night so I'm a bit tired Smile

madaboutmadmen · 20/01/2012 21:49

hi all, just thought i'd join in as my AF is due in 6 days and i'm already symptom spotting. Feeling bloated etc but no implantation bleed like i had with DS and recent mc. wishing you all luck, keep everything crossed for me too x

baileyslover · 20/01/2012 23:23

Can I join in? My DS is 14 months and we started TTC after Christmas. My AF is 3 days late......do I POAS now or wait? I am definately symptom spotting, but can't tell if the mild cramps are premenstrual or implantation pains. Eek! Smile

ILoveGreggsSausageRolls · 21/01/2012 07:00

baileyslover you HAVE to POAS Smile

ConfusedMumDotCom · 21/01/2012 13:29

So an hour of yoga distracted me from the dreaded 2WW. Only 4 more days to go, not sure I can maintain my sanity 'till Wednesday.

Good luck with the POAS bailyslover

baileyslover · 21/01/2012 16:07

Ok just looked at a couple of pregnancy tests I had at the back of the cupboard from last time, and they are out of date Blush will go to the shops first thing tomorrow and will let you know. Feel like I am weeing for Britain all of a sudden so little bit hopeful Smile

JumpingFrog · 22/01/2012 11:13

Another friend has announced a pregnancy today... Must be something in the water....

Idratherbe · 22/01/2012 19:46

Yep, think I'm ready to join this thread. DS is 21 months and we've completely forgotten about waking in the night and are totally winging the sums to make 2 sets of nursery fees work out and are tentatively TTC%232. It took about 4 months to conceive our little treasure and I fell pregnant first month of trying for %232 in November; sadly I miscarried at 8 weeks on Christmas day. I'm pretty laid back about it and having just finished my 1st period since the miscarriage (and a month of excessive intake of raw meat and booze) I'm feeling ready to go for it again. Wish me luck girls, I'm going in! Here's to 2012 bringing a raft of newborns for us to cope with coo over...

Idratherbe · 22/01/2012 19:49

That's number 2 not number 232... blinking iPhone

ddas · 23/01/2012 14:57

we're thinking of starting to TTC #2 but in two minds about it:
have a 6 month old ds who was born in august. We've always wanted 2 dc and a 2 year age gap ( well a 2 school year age gap). theoretically means we could wait till ds a bit older before ttc no2 but I am not keen on having another summer baby as do worry about him being the youngest in the year and struggling at school. Although I was a late summer baby and have done very well as have many of my summer peers but with your kids you worry about everything lol! So we've been thinking about ttc from now to aim for a dc earlier in the school year with still the 2 school yr age gap. but if I was to get pregnant in the first cycle as I did with ds he would only be 14/15 months old- but of course just because it was easy to conceive no1 does not automatically the same will be true for no2! Silly thing is that although I know it would be hard I would be happy with that age gap if it meant dc2 would be earlier in the school year but what is worrying me is what people in rl will think or say. I've already had quite a few people say we're quite young to have dc- I'm 27 DH is 28, we both have very good jobs (mine is letting me go back part time next month) and salaries and have our own house so not really sure what the issue is but makes me think people will have even more to say about the small age gap as a result. sorry for the long message but hard discuss this with people in rl!!! I know I really shouldn't think about what people will say but lets be honest we all do care what people think of us lol.

JumpingFrog · 23/01/2012 16:08

Ooooh positive result on OPK last night.... DTD..Just acting casual..Grin

madaboutmadmen · 23/01/2012 18:43

Congrats JumpingFrog Grin !!

RichardAndJudysButtPlug · 23/01/2012 18:58

Oh great Jumping Frog :)

Based on 6mths of charting my cycle on Fertility Friend, I am predicted to ov tomorrow. Had neg OPK tonight so will try again tomorrow. Pinning my OH to the bed is in my plans also...

Bewler · 23/01/2012 20:43

jumping frog that's so exciting!

ddas its so hard to judge the age gap thing especially when TTC is such an unknown timeframe. A small age gap might be hard in the sense that you'd have two babies in nappies and DS1 might still want to be carried/held a lot and need a lot of attention which might be tiring but if that doesn't phase you go for it! You musn't worry what other people think! My friend is about to have DC2 with only a 16 month gap and people have spent her whole pregnancy telling her how tough its going to be, even before they've said congratulations so she's had to be a bit thick skinned about people's reactions. But really, as long as you and your DH are happy then v-sign to everyone else Smile

madaboutmadmen · 23/01/2012 20:45

RichardandJudy - i love that nickname Grin .

ok - so an OPK is something to do with ovulation? afraid I'm not down with the kids on all of these abbreviations but I'm getting there slowly nonetheless. Congrats!

I've just POAS and got an early BFP !!!

Not due till Thursday though :-s so AF could still come....

Bewler · 23/01/2012 20:46

Hey baileyslover did you POAS?? Don't leave us hanging.....smile

JumpingFrog · 23/01/2012 20:50

madabout sorry for all the acronyms, Grin and massive congrats..!! Smile

Come on then ladies.. Who's next for a BFP?

madaboutmadmen · 23/01/2012 20:59

Thanks JF, no need to apologise, I'm trying to gret down with the lingo too Wink
