Another new thread for some more serious metalling - we really are a chatty lot!

Here's to making it through the WTF cycle(s), metalling* like a teenager from the early '90s in the 2WW, BFP colds and other classic symptom spotting and hiding in the (nice and comfy) padded cell post BFP Grin

If you have miscarried and are ready to TTC again, come and join us!

  • For those currently wondering what our mosh pit antics have to do with ttc post MC, a fabulous typo in an earlier thread resulted in "mentalling" becoming known as "Metalling" - a far more fitting expression I am sure you will agree!

Welcome!

Poppy I had spotting remember, too! Am using my other hand to hold yours x

PieMistress · 16/01/2012 11:25

poppy will be having her scan now, virtual hand holding down the 550 miles or so !

nomoremarbles welcome and so sorry you have found yourself here. This thread is amazing supportive and hopefully we will be here to hold your hand through this pregnancy (positive vibes!) you really have been through the mill.xx

MarthasHarbour · 16/01/2012 12:55

Oh no far too much to catch up on! Will try and have a look this afternoon whilst-at-work but just want to wave to you all Smile

As for me, well i gave up the temping after 3 days as i havent got a fecking clue what it all means and taking my temp in the morning rush was a bit of a faff.

Anyway i reliably informed DH in the car yesterday that my EWCM was particularly stringy and we should get to it, he thanked me for the TMI Hmm Grin but dutifully DTD last night. He is a good un!

I also did my blood tests on Thursday morning so just waiting for the results to come through. I have bought some baby aspirin and will POAS on Sunday 29th (my birthday) and if it is BFP i will start taking them straight away. It is a bit Sad now that the next BFP wont be that exciting as we have had 3 this last year that have gone tits up.

Anyway - onwards and upwards. I am still gagging on the B100s even if i split them in half - but the greater good and all that!

Right am going to try and catch up with you all, see ya's later Smile

MarthasHarbour · 16/01/2012 13:21

baking? did someone mention baking? we have a true metaller in our midst! welcome nomoremarbles congrats on your BFP and masses of good luck.

poppy i had bleeding with DS, it sounded like yours - a bit pink then went away, my MC bleeding was a tad more obvious so FX - are you in your scan now? Hmm

MarthasHarbour · 16/01/2012 13:23

jaffa how is mini jaffa? you poor thing, i am more than aware of the delights of A&E Sad big hugs to the jaffa household, and even more hugs on your due date Smile

Choedron · 16/01/2012 13:58

Hi all, Just MC about a week ago and found the courage to get back into Mumsnet, you all sound a supportive and jolly bunch! Have been trying for a year this was the first time. We willing to start straight way, has anyone conceived soon after a MC? would appreciate your experiences!

Poppyjen · 16/01/2012 14:20

Quick post from phone just to say all is well, little heartbeat seen and measuring 9.3mm so they reckon 7 weeks exactly today. Phew. Thank you all so much for virtual handholding, much appreciated. Xxx

choedron welcome - I will answer more comprehensively later/tomorrow when I have more time (if one of the others haven't already!) as up to my eyeballs here... but just wanted to say hi.

Have been refreshing like a madwoman for poppy's news - Hurrah!! Ooops. Broken fingers are so not a good look but I'm excited (and relieved!) for you! Such lovely news!

Laters all!

PieMistress · 16/01/2012 14:38

jaffa thoughts for you and family jaffa on your due date, it really does suck ass :(

poppy FAB FAB FAB! And a heartbeat too - whoop whoop!

Choedron welcome :) so sorry to hear about your M/C :( Our IQ conceived straight after her M/C ie/ before she got AF.

martha hoping your results come back with some answers! Are you also booked in for CD3 and CD21 (well hopefully not CD3 as you will get a sticky BFP before your next AF!). The B50s I got were much smaller, unless you got some of those and took 2 IYSWIM?

Big wave to everybody else! :)

MarthasHarbour · 16/01/2012 14:40

welcome choedron and sorry for your MC. I havent conceived straight after MC but a few of the ladies here have. Regardless, stick with us for hand holding and-delicious cakes

poppy yayyyyy 9.3mm is soooo teeny tiny! how wonderful Smile

JaffaSnaffle · 16/01/2012 15:17

Just popped on to see how Poppy went on- hurrah! Fab news. Welcome choedron and marbles.

NoMoreMarbles · 16/01/2012 17:03

poppy congratsSmile

thanks for the hands girlsSmile

as for me...already dramaHmm i have had some pink/blood streaked CM today so i may aswell have not even bothered testing as i will be back to TTC again shortly if my past history is anything to go byHmm TBh though, i havent had it quite like this before. its usually like one minute fine, next minute BAM! cramps and lossSad i have had a few stretchy kind of pains and VERY stabby baps so we will have to see what comes of this...

farfallarocks · 16/01/2012 17:40

Just popping in to say yay for poppy been thinking about you lots today!

marbles really hoping its good news for you too, you have had a terrible time of it

MissCoffeeNWine · 16/01/2012 18:00

Hurray poppy! I knew it'd be okay! Happy 7 weeks to you. Cor blimey I'll be there next week Shock

Welcome nomoremarbles I hope we can help you find your marbles on this thread. I have everything crossed for you.

Welcome choedron. I lost my first baby at 14 weeks (natural MC) and gave birth to my daughter 10 months and 3 days later, and she was past due! I lost my third baby at 17 weeks (induced labour) and am pregnant again - VERY early days but the due date for this one is 11 months and 1 day after that loss. So I'd say conceiving again is possible!

maja80 · 16/01/2012 18:06

nomoremarbles holding your hand & hoping is good news for you this time.

Looking forward to hearing from Poppy (more hand holding)

Choedron sorry you found yourself here but welcome, this is a nice place to chat and get great advice.

Jaffa how is the mini one?

Sorry anyone I missed. Special hugs to MissWhine and all the girls that are having a particularly heavy metalling at the moment.

Shout out at kells & newton - looks I might be away for work on our POAS date (23rd of Jan, was it) and won't be back till the 28th - could we make it 21 morning (just before my flight) or go ahead without me? Got period pains & spots anyway so this is not my month I'm afraid :( Ah, bollocks. - reaches for the Wine -

BlueCrane · 16/01/2012 19:27

Hello all...just a quick post to say I'm still lurking, just not been feeling quite myself for last few days...not sure why though I did think I was coming down with this nice stomach bug that's going round on Saturday when I nearly passed out again but that seems to have passed though I just feel totally wiped out, stayed home today but still don't feel any more energetic and still quite down, just no idea why! That probably doesn't make a great deal of sense...sorry!

Anyway, onto more chirpy news....huge congrats poppy fab fab news...in fact that's what for me in the mood to post again!

marthas sorry for lack of baking recently but didn't want to pass any lusty on if I had got it! I always thought temping would drive me loopy so interesting to hear you've given up with it already!!

Welcome to our newcomers, hopefully I'll be feeling a bit more with it tomorrow and back at work so able to do a proper catch up then!

MandaHugNKiss · 16/01/2012 19:46

You don't wanna pass on any lusty, you say blue? I think you're being quite selfish really; I'm sure our ttc girls could do with some spare lusty for all the swi... Grin

Lemme guess - autocorrect and you meant lurgy?

I'm still very blah following my bout with the 'lusty' - still no appetite, no energy, etc... DD at least seems to be on the mend. Now all that remains to be seen is if DS1 and DF get it.

BlueCrane · 16/01/2012 19:48

Stupid iPad....thanks manda ...I did indeed mean lurgy!!!!

MarthasHarbour · 16/01/2012 22:16

what blue - no but you said you had some lusty going spare - you cant back out now Angry

mind you if DH was anything to go by last night then 'sheesh' i have more than enough in Casa Harbour Blush Wink

NoMoreMarbles · 17/01/2012 09:34

MorningSmile I have made some choc-chip pancakes for breakkie Smile want some?

I have had some cramps overnight and brown spotting this morning so I have tested again and...,BFNSad arse... I didn't even make it to 5weeks this timeHmm 4+5 supposedly today Sad

So anyone have any good tips for a total conception fail such as myself...

Tiago · 17/01/2012 10:13

Quick post until I have more time

Martha - you and I appear to be in sync this month - my DH was also happy to DTD on Sunday (then had two goes yesterday to ahem make sure).

Congrats to the BFPs. Sending positive thoughts your way!

MissCoffeeNWine · 17/01/2012 10:16

:( NoMoreMarbles you are not a fail, bodies are such complicated things. I'm really sorry this has happened t you again and wish I had some advice for you but I'm afraid I'm a bit of a conception dunce compared to most of the lovely ladies on this thread.

I woud love some choc chip pancakes though, in fact I think you've just inspired me to make pancakes for lunch. Yum. Enjoy Thanks

Tiago · 17/01/2012 10:38

So sorry marbles.

MarthasHarbour · 17/01/2012 10:40

oh marbles i am so sorry, i have an inkling of how you are feeling as my last two BFP's didnt last more than 2 days Sad i am really really sorry. i dont know what to suggest or say but will more than gratefully join you in a choc chip pancake Smile

Thanks
farfallarocks · 17/01/2012 10:40

marbles I am so sorry, we all know how you feel and its rubbish. Huge hugs.

poppy had a very similar history to you (and so do I) and she is now 7 weeks and all is well so it is possible and indeed likely that you will conceive again quickly. Take it easy and be kind to yourself though.
