Another new thread for some more serious metalling - we really are a chatty lot!

Here's to making it through the WTF cycle(s), metalling* like a teenager from the early '90s in the 2WW, BFP colds and other classic symptom spotting and hiding in the (nice and comfy) padded cell post BFP Grin

If you have miscarried and are ready to TTC again, come and join us!

  • For those currently wondering what our mosh pit antics have to do with ttc post MC, a fabulous typo in an earlier thread resulted in "mentalling" becoming known as "Metalling" - a far more fitting expression I am sure you will agree!

Welcome!

I'm sorry you're down Jaffa. How about more than one chocolate, eh? I'm sorry to hear about your experience too, I agree the geography is not good. I would much prefer to MC at home like I did with my first MC (and for DD's birth) but with having to be induced this time, and having a 5yo at home, I'm not sure it would have been the best idea.

It is weird there are three of us on CD26, I'm similar with AF, will pee with far in the morning but fully expect AF to turn up on Saturday.

Might have a sneaky Wine if I ever get away from this desk just in case though Grin

I am working into the night tonight but managing to periodically MN. I'm always net active when I'm stuck to my desk, been here since 9am and no sign of being able to let up yet, so 5 mins on MN is my saviour!

farfallarocks · 06/01/2012 08:30

Oh jaffa that experience sounds awful, you poor thing. I can't imagine what going through a later loss must be like, I found it upsetting enough to loose pregnancies really early on so my heart goes out to you. I am also sorry that other things are getting you down. I do find it all happens at once and it feels like the world is conspiring against you doesn't it?

How funny we are all on the say cycle day! BFN here but that was expected really as I have had lots of brown spotting and cramps. I expect AF to arrive in full flow tomorrow. This will be my longest cycle and best luteal phase yet (although I am still metalling about the progesterone cream I used, I have stopped that now) so I taking the positives.

mseltoe that sounds like a very very long day indeed, what on earth do you do? Feel free to ignore if you feel it would out you

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

MsEltoeNWhine · 06/01/2012 09:58

Good morning everyone!

Happy P-day far Sorry about the BFN :(

I got a BFP. That was unexpected Blush

Let the real metalling commence Confused

MsEltoeNWhine · 06/01/2012 10:00

far I wasn't actually at my desk quite that late, MN went down last nigth and posted my message a lot later! I finished around 11pm. I work from home so was holed up in the office MNing working. I'm a mature student with my own business.

PieMistress · 06/01/2012 10:05

Hurray for a BFP!!!

Perhaps you can call the helpful midwife and let her know that it is now IMPERATIVE that they sort themselves out so you can plan for this pregnancy appropriately? Have a treatment plan etc? Here's to a stress free 8 months for you

BlueCrane · 06/01/2012 11:36

Yeah Grin Grin fab news mseltoe

Catching up here in an attempt to concentrate on something other than feeling very faint at the moment! Big TMI alert but I'm a little bunged up again in the below department and was, ahem, on the loo trying to clear things and suddenly felt very faint and thought I was going to black out...spent a while sat on the floor in the loos before I managed to get back up, get some water and get back to my desk but don't really feel quite right...colleague said I was v pale...so just sitting quietly, sipping water, hoping it and the headache I have will pass...could just be because it's stupidly hot in this office today!!

leedy · 06/01/2012 11:39

Oh, brilliant brilliant news MsEltoe!!!!

MsEltoeNWhine · 06/01/2012 11:54

Thanks everyone.

Looks like conception was Christmas Day just before Downton Abbey and this one's DD will be the day before DP's birthday.

The worst thing I just figured out in the rush of pregnancy maths following a BFP is that if this one makes it that far, it will be the exact gestation I lost the last one on the last one's due date.

How's that for a mindfuck?

I'm not excited, in fact I'm freaking terrified. DP was a bit subdued, happy in a 'well it's one step closer isn't it' kind of a way and happy at his super sperm. I'm sorry, I know lots of people struggle with conception, and I don't say that to be mean because so did we first time round - TTC for 17 months - but for some reason that has seemed to cure the problem and we've conceived the last three times in just six cycles Shock. So he likes bragging about his super sperm, which makes me feel a bit shit actually as I'm clearly the one failing - It's keeping them IN there that's the issue, so now my metalling can really and truly begin.

I want wine. I blame far. I wasn't going to test until the 12th and I could have had wine! Grrrrrr Grin Wine

I hope you feel better soon Blue Did you tell work your poo made you feel faint? Grin

Thanks mseltoe feeling a bit better now thanks and having some lunch which will hopefully help further...and I only told DH and you lot here on MN about what I actually think caused the faintness...the guy at work just thinks it's a lovely 'normal' side effect of pregnancy Blush and I'm happy for him to keep thinking that Grin

On a totally different note a friend broke her elbow in 3 places yesterday and is stuck in hospital waiting for surgery on it...was going to visit later but apparently there's a virus going round at the hospital so I should really stay well clear...suspect she's feeling quite isolated as a result and may not be out until sun/mon!!

mseltoe those dates are a little freaky TBH...hang in there and here's hoping this is a sticky bean!! Are you doing/taking anything different this time around? What CD are you at the moment?

InsomniaQueen · 06/01/2012 12:59

Should be working but just saw the news and couldn't wait until i got home to post......HUGE Congratulations mseltoe.......so pleased for you!!!

Even mini IQ is doing a victory dance for you!!! I know you will be in full metal so wrap yourself up in a nice blanket and just let the feeling settle in for a little bit.

Soooooo happy right now - your good news has made my day Grin!!! xxxx

shakemyhead · 06/01/2012 13:03

Hello from a newbie. We lost our baby in oct at 14 weeks. PM results was a girl with DS. We had a high nt measurement and no heartbeat by the time of CVS.
Ready to try again.

Moominsarescary · 06/01/2012 13:05

coingratulations mseltoe

well im feeling quite crappy as what would have been jacobs due date is comming up

still havent recieved an apointment for a postnatal although i have rang them and theyve said any time now

im dreading going back i dont know what to say to them, they found my cervix was failing and i was 2 cm dialated then they stuck us in a room on the labour ward for 4 hours to wait for the consultant didnt tell us anything just left us there and by the time the consultant came i was 6 cm and they said to late to stitch. although my consultant did try the stitch the next day.

how can you just leave people without telling them anything for 4 hours? why didnt she stitch me at 2cm? im going to have to say something to them, i wouldnt want anyone else being left for that long

Awww I'm dead chuffed mini-IQ is punching your bladder in my honour IQ Funnily enough I worked this morning but have dedicated the next hour to snuggling under a blanket metalling

blue Sorry about your friend, ouch, but I'd stay clear too I'm afraid. The dates are very freaky. I don't really know what I could do or take that would make any difference. I've been taking pregnancy supplement since 4 weeks with our last baby. (Who I'm now going to christen mini-toe for the purposes of discussion as it's getting two complicated referring to all four!!! of my pregnancies. Mini-toe does have a real name but I prefer not to share online)
I'm CD28. So that would be a piddly 4 weeks wouldn't it? I took a picture of the test so I'd know I wasn't imagining it Blush Anyone want to look at it and check it's really a BFP? Blush

I'm sorry you have to join us shakemyhead I also had a loss in October, at 17 weeks, I havent had the PM results back yet, but hoping to hear something any time. I hope you find some support in trying again on this thread.

I'm sorry for your loss Moomins :(

MsEltoeNWhine · 06/01/2012 13:44

No pregnancy symptoms, bugger - maybe the spots I was whinging about the other day but nothing else!

BlueCrane · 06/01/2012 14:02

mseltoe it was more a query of whether you'd been advised to take anything but then you've reminded me (sorry brain like a sieve at the moment) about still waiting for your PM results...sounds to me like you have even more cause to chase and chase and chase until they get you a consultant appointment now! I would want to know asap if there was anything they would advise as a result of the results which might help this beany IYSWIM...not wishing to add to your metalling though so take it easy snuggled under that blanket! When i got my bfp this time I did a digi so I actually got words rather than lines and it said how many weeks from conception and then did one a week later and another a week after that to watch manically check the weeks from conception going up which helped calm me a little bit. I also found that my 'symptoms' took a while to kick in which didn't help with the metalling

shakey welcome, so sorry for your need to join us but please make yourself at home.

Where's baby think we need to continue with the roll call as I'm starting to lose track a bit again Blush

PieMistress · 06/01/2012 14:02

Somebody mentioned you can set up a group of your mumsnet friends so that you can only share photos with those people, rather than making your profile public?

MsEltoeNWhine · 06/01/2012 14:17

They said I'd hear this week blue so I don't want to push it too much. This week will do, I think. Course then if the appointment is in 3 months I'll shout a lot.

There SHOULD be a picture on my profile. If anyone wants to squint at it. One line or two, vicar?

Hello ladies, I'm afraid my previous incarnation (ShimmeryPixie) vanished for a while. I plead work and the bit where I kind of lost the will to post. I think I went a bit mental with stress and the lack of a new bfp. I shall try to catch up with everyone's news over the next few days I think.

Not much news here. I've started looking into IVF though.

Tiago · 06/01/2012 14:30

And that's two lines MsEltoe. Definitely.

farfallarocks · 06/01/2012 14:36

Absolutely, definitely positive
And you convinced an internet cheapie and they are not even that sensitive (certainly less than they claim in my experience!!)

tiago I know how grim it is to go through a loss and then not get pregnant straight away either, its horrible and I can see why it might have been difficult for you to post with so much good news on here recently. Obviously its great and gives you hope but I am sure you feel like 'what about me?' every now and again which is normal.
