Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
6. And the presence of symptoms.
7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.

10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

OMG!!!
I am back from the hospital. The kitten is doing just fine. It has quadrupled in size since I last saw it and has little arms and stuff. Good heartbeat in the 170s, measuring 9 weeks spot on. I am now starting to think that this may be the lucky one.

Hi ladies! its nice to be back on here. Have not been on for a while. Its good to see a few new faces around here, waves to all new faces!
And good to see a few familiar faces still here, waves to all!
Sad to see a few have had mc's since i last visited, my thoughts are with you and i hope you will be back on here before long xx

I am doin ok, so far so good. Been for another scan privately in the end of August as was mentalling so much if all was ok. Scan was fine and gave
me dates of 12wk4days! It was great to see little one moving and wriggling around. It put my mind at rest. Well it put my mind at rest for about a week...
The past week i've been so worried for no real reason, just fretting. I know you ladies know what i mean :( Plus after the scan we decided to tell all
our family and friends. They are all delighted which is great. But it is a strange feeling that everyone knows now, especially after keeping it
a secret for so long. I don't know when my next scan is and if its not within another 2 weeks I may find myself going for another private one as I just can't stop this worrying.

I've added myself to the list, I think I feel brave enough now to do so.

Nice to see you Livin - glad you had a lovely little scan. Have you had your NHS 12 week scan yet?

I read on a thread somewhere on here about someone who phoned up to query when their scan was as they had heard nothing and it was the next day - they just hadn't received the letter . Might be worth chasing if you've heard nothing but are waiting for an appointment? Hope they don't keep you waiting long either way.

I went straight to grads as actually set that thread up during my last pregnancy but they kindly pointed me here for all the first and second trimester mentalling!!
Hey digi!!! I remember u from before, so happy to see u!!

Ive just found out im pg with suprise baby and have wobbled and wibbled this wk between total and utter panic shock and disbelief but have come to rest in sheer joy at the prospect of another DC. This is number four....:) i am posting from phone so cant update stats so would someone mind adding me on pls? Im 5wks lets say. I have been referred to epac due to ectopic history so should have early scan in next wk or so which i am mentalling about already. DH is v frosty with me at mo but beginning to thaw....major financial implications to another baby see so he is incredulous that we have fallen preg with only one tube after only having sex ONCE this month....and i said it was safe point in cycle as was no trace of ewcm....oops!

Congratulations on your pg - am sure DH will come round - what a surprise though!

Fingers crossed for you early scan - at least they're looking after you and hopefully giving you the help you need.

I am right back to knickerchecking like no tomorr....its crazy how it kicks in like some kind of instinct or something....feel all achey crampy which cant remember if normal...wot symptoms u lot got so far?

Right now tell me what u think.... I am thinking that i dont want DH to come with me to the early scan. I dont want him to be sitting there and being relieved if something has gone awry.....is it my decision or not?

I know the knicker checking is mental isn't it! In the earliest days I was going to the toilet at least 4 times an hour - it was insane! I've probably calmed down to once an hour now

Cramp wise I did feel pretty crampy in those early weeks - I remember it totally freaking me out!

Tricky one about the early scan. Is it next week did you say? Do you think DH might have come round by then? It might work the other way if it is good news - seeing it might make him feel all warm and squishy inside? Do you think if (fingers crossed it is not the case but...) there was something wrong when you go for the scan he would be more inclined to be concerned about you etc? It's certainly a tricky one but I guess only you know how much it's 'just a shock' and how much of it is not really wanting another?

ok, i'm totally freaking out. My scan is 2 hours away. Still knicker checking, no blood spotted. Is it too much to believe that things could be OK with this pg?

I've never made it to a 12 WK scan. I am trying so hard to think that I will leave the room and things will be OK. Time is just going so slowly now. My heart is racing and I want to be calm for my baby.

Oh LAFF it is absolutely ok to believe that everything could be ok this time around. Remember that missed miscarriages that are only discovered at 12 weeks are statistically rare. Since you have made it this far the odds are vastly vastly in your favour.
Obviously that won't stop you worrying until you have seen it with your own eyes on a screen. I know what the fear is like before a scan. In the meantime I have everything possible crossed for you and I am looking forward to hearing a lovely scan story from you later. good luck!

LAFF77 your scan is going to be wonderful. Things will be ok and you will have the biggest relief. You are going to see your healthy, wriggly baby this afternoon. Start drinking plenty of water and you will get a good picture.

I understand how you must be feeling, I know I will be the same when I go for my scan on Wednesday. We just have to keep telling ourselves that it is our turn for a happy outcome and try and relax as much as possible.

I'll be thinking of you and looking for your update later telling us that all is well.

Just a quick msg, baby is fine, low measurement for nuchal of 1.3, I'm on 12+2 which is exactly where I should be. Thanks for your support xx

Oh LAF that is great news!! So pleased for you - it must have been such a relief to see the little heartbeat etc? And a good nuchal measurement too - what a day for you!

Hey Biscuits! i've been checkin the post every day hoping for to get my appointment letter, but nothing yet. I was in with my gp last week and he said i should get a letter in the next couple weeks. But if not, come back into him at 16 wks. 16 wks!!! Aaahhh! Hopefully Ill hear something next week.

Oh and I'm in Ireland, so no NHS for me! Its the public system here which is pretty much just the same though. ;)

Welcome Boodle! Knickerspotting, still something i do to this day. Other symptoms of mine include sore boobs, especially in the mornings. So emotional, will cry at drop of hat or cute kitten or ..well anything! Oh and not sleeping through the night as have to get up to pee, although this is settling down a bit now.

LAF Hooray!! Great news on your scan! Could you make out the baby clearly?
