That's it really. I'm CD 6, having red days, planning my BD-ing & wandering if anyone else is in the same boat as me...?

I'm on my second cycle using persona and my body isn't behaving! I ran out of test sticks before it gave me the O sign. So I've had to buy some CB Ov tests as well this month, just to see if anything will happen! Think I got a result today, but it's hard to tell. Going for blood tests on Monday to check everything out. That's my one complaint about Persona, it doesn't allow for wandering cycles, and I knew that when I bought it, but I thought my body might behave long enough to concieve, Oh Well I'm on CD 21.

eldestgirl · 03/11/2005 09:59

Me too.
Persona worked like a charm the first month. Ov sign on days 15 and 16 but DH was on another continent. Sigh. Cucle was 29 days.
Second cycle it was useless. Red from day 6 until 29, when it started flashing m as well as going green, plus NO ov sign at all. Cycle was 33 days.
Am CD4 today, do 1/8 stick tomorrow so will be interested to see what it throws up this month. Have booked DH at home for 2 weeks.

strike1 · 03/11/2005 10:17

Men! Bless them. My DH was determined this month, so the second we got the red day he said we would be BDing till it went green. I don't think he realised how long that would be! He start to flake out about the time I (think) I needed him, and although I'm on CD21/22 my CB Ov test has two faint lines so I've got to persude him so get back too it

I think the persona sticks are like all ov sticks, they test hormone levels in your wee. Cause last month, when I got the O sign the stick had 2 lines rather than one. So the machine analysis the levels in the wee throughout the month. If you BDed at that time, you have a good chance of hitting the jackpot, so to speak! One thing I did hear though, is that the LH that is produced at ov can appear later in the cycle without ov having happened. I think that might have happened to me last month. Do you always get ov pain? Cause I've been having lower abdominal pain for a few days now, and I think my CB ov test say it's ov time, but it's very late (CD 21/22) so I don't know if it's ov, af, early pG or something more sinister?

Mojomummy · 03/11/2005 11:54

Oh good - we can all compare results then, I had a miscarriage in Aug having got pg first month with persona's help. Last couple of months have had very strange cycles - a 30 day one & then a 22 day one.

Today is day 8 (got in wrong in my opening paragraph) & we have BD on day 6.Planning tonight & then day 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. DH is rubbing his hands with glee. (he's also been taking his zinc )

Have found out the egg sign on persona means ovo is due in next couple of days. The more I look into it the more confused I get !

Good luck to us all.

BTW do you pee midstream or collect & dip - I do the latter as have had problems in the past with over wetting the stick & find this more reliable....

I didn't know you could over wet the stick! Can that effect the results? Oh why are there so many things to worry about!

Mojomummy · 03/11/2005 12:39

Hi Strike1 - our paths keep crossing

yes apparently - I rang the helpline once as I was cross I hadn't ovulated ( pre miscarriage & confident with my fertility ) The lady said I had most likely over wet the stick & it must ONLY be in stream for 3 seconds . Paranoia set in & now collect in a tommee tippee container - also save the wee until test is complete & red/green light is displayed.

Hi Mojomummy, we do keep bumping into each other. You've given me hope that maybe I did ov (or maybe oving) this month but have just over wet the stick (so many nudge nudge, wink wink jokes for that phrase!)Not sure hope'is a good thing though as it seems to only bring disapointment at the moment. TTC is more stressful than I thought it would be.

You're right NN a persona thread is cool, I feel part of a gang! My DH's staminer seems to run out at ov time, I think it's a case of peaking too soon I'll have to hold him back next month!

Mojomummy · 03/11/2005 15:30

hey Normsnockers, if you BD sat am & you think you ovo on Monday, you might be in with a chance ?

I am collating all my 'data' so I can build up a what doesn't work/what does. I know we are all different, but there maybe some common threads.

I wonder if we could have a chart on here somehow, so we can record our red, eggs & BD-ing ?

I did have almost 2 years worth of 'data' on my calendars at work, but someone took them/threw them away. Starting to build a new picture though from the last couple of months. Am hoping 3rd time lucky..& will of course will be 'busy' tonight

On CD 22 and I still have a red light, but that's because persona didn't pick up ovulation this month, either becuase I tested wrong or I really didn't ov, going for a blood test monday to check. You never know NN, once is all it takes and by the sounds of it, it was on the right day. Wait and see I guess. You're good not to test till after af. I think it's better than knowing too early, in case something goes wrong. I've got no will power though. I've already got my tests lined up for next weekend, just in case I did ov this month.

Zinc is supposed to help swimmer production apparently, that and Selenium, keeps them strong and healthy. I've got DH on Zinc once a day at the moment, if I have to take stuff then so should he!

Yeah, should be due, based on last months info, on Saturday 12th, so I'm going to try and hold out til then, before testing. What about you? Will you test on 14th or wait till the end of that week?

A sort of discounted superdrug really. There are 2 near me - let me know if you want me to buy a couple & send them to you.

I don't seem to have any of those shops round here either, just the normal Superdrug. Got my supply for this month, but might take you up on that next month Mojo.

The bit I hate about the week or two before testing is being careful with the wine intake! Specially as Friday night in front of the telly calls, I could murder a large glass of vino

JAG123 · 05/11/2005 14:18

Hi have just done the reset thing for my Persona & on cd1 (although was hoping i wouldn't need to after a strange start to AF but never mind he we go again).
Does anyone know anywhere you can buy cheap persona sticks. I bought my Persona off ebay & noticed that 1 of the ads stated you could get them from Superdrug for £4.99 but they have stopped doing them & everywhere else seems to be about £9.
Also when you use the test stick to reset has anyone reused it? I know it tells you not to but it seems such a waste when it hasn't even had any wee on it!
Last one does it really make any difference if you don't use sticks from same batch? I know you need 16 in the first month but couldn't really afford to buy 2 packs at once.
Sorry about all the questions, just thought i would try to arm myself with as much info up front.
Thanks J

mojomummy · 05/11/2005 23:14

Hi jag123, I've never understood why you can't mix sticks from one box to the other, so I frequently do mix - no problems so far.

Not sure about the re-setting stick - if you haven't wee'd on it, maybe the reason is because it loses it's effectiveness because it's out of the wrapper ?

Thanks Mojomummy i'm sure they just say these things to get more money out of us. Will see how it goes & perhaps keep it as a spare.
