That's it really. I'm CD 6, having red days, planning my BD-ing & wandering if anyone else is in the same boat as me...?

Hi
I have a persona question.I bought a persona machine off ebay and thought I had reset it but now on day 9 of my cycle (when it says I should be doing a test on the leaflet.) The yellow light has not come on. When I did reset it I kept getting the nummber 99 come up with the flashing M do you think I should abandon it for this month and try to reset it again? Has anyone else experiended somthing similar with a second hand persona?
Thanks

Hi Guys - CD7 I think I need to find an accupucturist - sounds lovely! I could ask the holistic therapist I use if she knows someone local but she will probably just say come for a Reiki session with her but it hasn't worked so far!!! Fingers X'd for some BFP's soon.

Peachygirl the 99 M comes up on the Persona when you haven't used it for over 99 days. If you press and hold the M button again after you have done a reset, the Persona maybe resetting itself to it's previous setting?

This is really useful if like me, you think AF is arriving, press the M button, but then it takes another few days to get going properly. Because you can just set it back to your previous count i.e. 29 - hope that makes sense???

Also what time of day did you reset it? If you didn't reset in the morning don't forget about the test window (explains it on the website better than I can!) If you have set it later in the day when you look at if first thing in the morning the orange test light might not be on yet. It should always give you an orange light on day 6.

I've not had any re set problems with my Persona yet as I bought it new, but even getting started from that confused me!

The accupucture was great, made me feel a bit floaty and tingly all over. He put needles in my ankles and knees and one in my right hand and one in my abdomen. It didn't hurt, I didn't feel a thing! We had a long chat first and he took my pulses and said I had a few areas that needed work, my Kidneys (which are big in fertility in Chinese Med) and my liver and spleen (sp?) I'm going again next week for a more comprehensive session and he might perscribe some herbs too.

If it works I'll be over the moon, if not then it was still an enjoyable hour of relaxation.

Any news of AF yet Mojo?

mojomummy · 22/11/2005 12:19

Hi Ladies..

Strike1 - is the needle for the kidneys in the ankle ? I had 3 needles in each leg, well 1 on the foot by the big toe, one in the side of the ankle & one close to the shin.

Also Did he mention eating chicken soup ? made from organic carcuss of course. Apparently this is great for replenishing bloods cells/spleen support & whole host of others.

Hi Mojo, I think there were some needles in my legs too. I didn't look as I wasn't sure if it would make me feel funny. Not sure eactly which areas he was starting with as it was just a starting session to see how I coped! He said he would go away and study the notes he'd taken while we were talking and come up with a plan of attack so to speak! Didn't mention Chicken soup, but next time I do a roast I'll remember to give it a try I had a great yoga lesson today as well so I'm feeling very holistic at the moment

mojomummy · 22/11/2005 17:44

Ooh you are good ! I'm off to centerparcs next week & will be doing some yoga, taichi & pilates

Hi Thanks for the advice Pinewood. I have now successfully reset the machine.I obviously hadn't done it right before and it thought I was the previous owner!
Good luck this month everyone

JAG123 · 22/11/2005 19:57

Hi All

Peachygirl when you reset did you use one of your tests & hold or did you just press the m button?

Glad the Acupunture went well Strike. I quite fancy it but am already having reflexology & Reiki (nice isn't it Pinewood). Although neither have worked so far the are both really relaxing.

peachygirl · 23/11/2005 17:37

Hi I did use one of the test sticks but I think I didn't hold the M button down long enough. I didn't get all the symbols flashing up and did when I reset it. I'm not really trying at the moment just getting ready maybe for christmas BDing so it's not the end of the world that I have abandoned it for this month. Bit miffed at wasting so many sticks but thank goodness I bought three boxes with the same batch number!
Thanks again

mojomummy · 24/11/2005 10:39

not sure, CD 28 yesterday (still red), did a test & was negative (got some early ones from e-bay). This am, no AF, green light on monitor, did a test & a very very very faint pink line came up, so it's not red & there are 2 lines, are they tricking me ?

OP posts:
mojomummy · 24/11/2005 10:40

so rather than a big fat positive, it's a small faint maybe - I think I might cry

DH is trying not to get his hopes up....

It sounds hopeful Mojomummy! What test are you using? I've heard great reports about Boots own. Maybe try again tomorrow morning? A line is a line though, congratulations!

Norms, I've got a red light today, CD7. I think it's just being careful as it doesn't know/get my cycle yet. I oved too late for it to catch it last month, so it probably thinks it's better to be safe than sorry. I've not told DH it's a red light, as I think we peaked too early on the BDing last month. Stick with it for this month norms and see where it takes you. I've read about a Clear Blue conception monitor you can buy in the states, which is like Persona, made by the same people, but meant especially for ttc. I think Personas problem is that it's supposed to stop pg rather than help it!

mojomummy · 24/11/2005 11:49

Hi Strike1, I'm using a very cheap one from e-bay. 3 for £3 I think. Will buy the Saver one today for 99p (big spender!)

Feeling very upbeat, tinged with doubt, until a proper line is seem.

If it is BFP, the key for me was a normal (ish) cycle (with no egg sign on persona, although I do think I did an early pee that morning, not early enough to collect, but enough to reduce concentration ?)& BD-ing every other day from day 6, then 8, 10 & 13 (missed day 12 due to argument )

Sorry Norms, didn't read your last post properly, I thought you were losing faith cause it hadden't asked you to test I've never phoned the help line, but I've heard they're very good. At least they'll be able to let you know if it's worth changing the batteries again or just hoping it lasts for this month, or dumping it and getting a new one. I guess they know their machines best, so should be able to give you some help.

JAG123 · 24/11/2005 14:55

Mojomummy Have just read this i rrreally hope it is a BPF for you. Hopefully you are going to be our first Persona sucess story. I wonder if you kept getting reds because it was picking up more hormones in your system. (Although hopefully it is just a fluke as i'm getting greens now). I go by the Clearblue tests spec the digital ones no guessing on lines.

Norms perhaps it might be worth resetting completely with fresh batteries again.

Strike - I been reading about the Clearblue montiors. But i think that at the end of the day they are all just the same as ov tests. Just gives you an idea of your cycle if you are reg.

Nothing to report from me on either CD19 or 20 (my memory for numbers is rubbish even from this morn).

peachygirl · 24/11/2005 16:09

Normsnockers I agree with Jag 123 and think you should reset it and try different batteries. Did it ask you for 16 tests or for 8? Was this your first cycle? Could it have done what mine did and think you were it's previous owner?
sorry too many questions!

Hi Normsnockers - I think if there are 2 lines on the persona window stick thing, it is picking up pre-fertile hormones

OP posts:
strike1 · 25/11/2005 10:31

Mojo, I think I read that pg and ov hormos will produce two lines. I found this weird site called Peeingonsticks.com (i think) and the woman has done all sorts of experiments to see what various test sticks do. So in short, your persona sticks could well be saying your pg!
