Welcome ladies to our new home yet again!! I hope this one will be as lucky as the last one was!

OP posts:
Haleana · 04/10/2011 20:27

OMG it's a BFP!!!!! I LOVE THE CBFM!! First cycle too! Took us 11 without the CBFM and 1 with the CBFM last time. Can't believe it! Arrrrrgggghhhh!

Lucylucy57 · 05/10/2011 08:41

Thats brilliant news Haleana!! Congratulations!!!

Loup23 · 05/10/2011 15:08

Congratulations Haleana!

Has anyone thought about the Duofertility? Am just thinking about it as an alternatvie to cbfm as I'm not confident in cbfm's powers for me!

sprinkles77 · 06/10/2011 07:58

congratulations haleana!

Information request for anyone charting... (TMI alert). I've just started charting this month. My temps are up and down (36.29 - 36.41) between days 1-15. CBFM still saying low / 1 bar. Yet I am sure I have EWCM this morning and been having minor twinges like I get around ovulation. WTF is going on?

Loup23 · 07/10/2011 12:29

Morning sprinkles we're pretty much at the same time in another cycle! I'm not sure why CBFM still showing low, have you continued to take temps? Usually three higher temps in a row will indicate O has occurred. I got a new pack of sticks this month and two or three in a row had no lines on them so think the batch might be faulty - have you looked at the lines?

CD18 here, got my first peak today but had EWCM on CD16 and 17 and low temps followed by a rise in temps this morning, we BD this morning but I'm thinking it's too late if my temp has already gone up - anyone else got experience of this?

AuntieDoris · 07/10/2011 13:57

I have completely confused by CBFM by flying to Hong Kong! I think I have worked it out now though!

sprinkles77 · 07/10/2011 20:20

loup seems we r in sync. Funny to think we're both shagging away at the same time! Temp still low this morning. But had a high /2 bars on CBFM and a +ve OPK (Internet cheapie). So am expecting a peak / 3 bars in 3-5 days and I guess a high temp at about the same time. Am recording all the CBFM data on the chart too so should start to build quite a detailed picture. And time the sticks better so i use fewer. Shit I'm obsessed!

Talking of sticks, mine have all had 1 line so far this month, except today where there were 2 but the 2nd was quite faint. If you have had a dud batch it telly means you can't trust any of the info from it at all from this batch. Are you using OPK too? I only used mine today because I used them one cycle ages ago before CBFM and got no positives at all so just wanted to see if they were dud. Clearly not, I was just using them wrong!

sprinkles77 · 07/10/2011 20:53

-Telly- Hmm probably

sprinkles77 · 07/10/2011 21:17

FFS telly!!!!!!

Loup23 · 09/10/2011 22:39

Ha sprinkles shagging away in sync! Glad to see CBFM went up to high, have you had your peak yet? Luckily I had enough sticks from a previous batch so I used them instead of dud ones - will need to get yet another pack for next month (if BFP doesn't materialise)......

I am also looking obsessed, bathroom covered in cbfm sitcks, i/c ovulation sticks and just to be boderline maniac sure clear blue ovulation sticks.. Blush. Got my peak on Friday/Sat CD 18/19 but despite a temp rise friday it's now back down and clear blue stick had smiley face this morning so non the wiser.... continuing to shag through it and hope one of the buggers gets there...... Fx for temp rise tomorrow....

What a waffle - waves to all lurkers, anyone else ready to start symptom spotting on the 2ww?! x

sprinkles77 · 10/10/2011 13:52

Still no peak here, last cycle I got a peak on day 20 (though had no highs), so am hoping tomorrow is the day!

A friend of mine who was in the same antenatal class as me with DS has just announced she's pt. Envy. But I know she had a hard time first time round, so who knows how long she has been trying for. The announcement certainly put a kick up DHs back side (she was his friend before we married).

How much of a temp rise is a temp rise, loup? Mine seems to be creeping up 0.1 of a degree.

Loup23 · 10/10/2011 14:28

Fx tomorrow is your day to then sprinkles, I've have a bunch of people I know pg at the moment and I think some friends are now trying for number 2, trying to feel Envy every time I hear about a new pg. Glad it gave DH a kick though Grin hope he's limbering up for tomorrow!

I had a big rise today by 0.5 but that's 3 days after first peak, before that my temps are all over the place and I've even had 2dpo dips so am completely confused by it all - nothing my body does seems to be textbook Angry I'm sure you'll see the rise post O - Good luck!

sprinkles77 · 10/10/2011 15:03

maybe I'll get a puppy instead.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 10/10/2011 18:55

Hi all, been trying not to obsess, but failing miserably! So, I am back to the MN way.
My CBFM has failed me for the second month in a row - this is down to a dud batch of sticks - they seem to kind of wash over so the lines aren't visible. I seem to be able to spot ov coming now and resort to using CB OPK sticks. We went for the second round of IUI on friday, so am in a 2WW situation, according to the nurse I had a CM bubble at the "door" which is apparently only there for a 2 hour window, so this could well be a positive sign, so FX!

Loup - I have looked at the duofertility monitor, they are still expensive, but if they really are as reliable as IVF, I may try it when we have exhausted the NHS funded treatments - clearly I am very positive about all this working!

Take care all, SBC x

Keziahhopes · 10/10/2011 19:35

SBC - all best with IUI cycle. Have they told you how many rounds they recommend, and are they medicated or not? Medicated is meant to be more effective if non-medicated not work. Hope you not need to go as far as IVF, that this cycle works - will pop back and see how it goes in 2weeks Smile x

izzybizzybuzzybees · 10/10/2011 20:22

Hiya, the cycle i fell pregnant i only had highs on the monitor. No peak!

The duofertility only reads ur temp so not much better than just tracking with ff!!

sprinkles77 · 11/10/2011 06:54

Right. No sodding peak today. Another small temp rise of 0.2 deg. I/c OPK gave me a positive a few days ago. So maybe CBFM has missed it and I'm not taking temps properly.

Loup23 · 11/10/2011 10:12

Good luck for the 2ww SBC hope that bubble is a positive sign! I'm also thinking about the duofertility if this cycle doesn't work although like izzy says if it measures your temps only how much more can it really help...?

Sorry to hear about lack of peak sprinkles, I have lost faith in my cbfm the last few months (although this month it seems to have matched i/c and cb sticks), have you done another i/c recently? If you're temp still hasn't risen then perhaps the cbfm is right and you haven't yet ovulated..... Do you have a chart to post?

farfallarocks · 11/10/2011 10:20

sbc I had a batch like that, it all looked like a big smudge and no peak detected.

I now use both the monitor and the :)

I find the monitor is good for telling me the highs and sometimes the peak but I always catch the peak with the digi ones :)

To be honest I seem to be OV between day 13-15 every month so I don;t think I need to sue the CBFM anymore. Just start SWI from say 9 onwards!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 11/10/2011 21:12

Thanks Keziah - how's the pregnancy going?

Loup and izzybizzy, I think the duo would be a last ditch attempt option, I have never been able to chart as I work shifts and am never able to get up at regular times, so a constant monitor may help...

Far - likewise, I use a mixture, my gynae suggested swi from last day of AF through, which now I have noticable CM seems to be the best bet, seems to be EWCM from day 5 and OV around day 12, but if I counted day 1 as day 1 of spotting it would be bang on day 14 - it must only be a matter of time - fx!

sprinkles77 · 11/10/2011 21:31

Fx sbc Really hope this is it for you, you've waited so long. How's Theo?

loup I did an I/c stick yesterday and it was negative. So either I already ovulated and CBFM missed it and I'm crap at taking my temps. Or my body got ready to ovulate (LH surge detected by I/c) and didn't (which is what the CBFM and temps suggest). Or I'm going to ov late this month. FFS. I'll put my data into FF tomorrow and link to it and you can see what you think. Unless I get a peak!

Loup23 · 12/10/2011 10:23

I agree sbc i'm thinking of the duofertility as a last ditch attempt as my temps seem to be a bit erratic in the last few cycles and it's not easy to see a dip or rise until some time after ovulation - the money back guarantee is also an incentive! I hope neither of us need it and this is our month......

Did you take your temp today sprinkles? In the last few months I have tired using i/c ov tests as well but they are not always easy to read a + so the digital ones might be better (as far says, the cbfm doesn't always seem to catch the surge...) Hopefully you havent' O'd yet (or did you get a peak today?!)

FF puts me at 3 dpo today... 11 days to go but I'm going on holiday on Friday, do I drink copious rum punches or not Confused

sprinkles77 · 12/10/2011 14:44

Right, still no peak on CBFM. I have put my figures into FF here. I hope link works. Certainly was an interesting exercise as it has interpreted my data for me. If FF is to be believed, I did indeed ovulate on day 17, the day after my i/c OPK positive. So the SWI was well timed and the bloody CBFM has cocked up. Is it worth paying for the VIP thing?

For me the i/c OPK gave a clear 2nd line, so I found it easy enough to read, I'm spending enough on this obsession hobby as it is, so going to stay clear of the digital ones for now.

loup dunno what to suggest about the rum punch. Probably best just to get on and enjoy, though if FF is wrong you might need to be in a fit state to enjoy some SWI! Maybe stick with "sex on the beach" Grin. When my mum was pg with me, her GP (who was so ancient he had delivered babies during WW1) suggested that "a few drinks are fine, but try not to get so drunk you fall down stairs. You might hurt the baby". Does that help?

farfallarocks · 12/10/2011 14:51

By the way just a word about this duefertility thing being 'as effective' as IVF. I think this is really cheeky as what they are saying is that when using it, in any given cycle you have x% chance of getting pregnant which is more than the % chance with IVF.

So for example, a normal couple with no problems have a 20% chance of conceiving in any given cycle if they SWI at the right time. With IVF, depending on the factors, its about 30% I believe. And duo are saying , what 35 or 40%?
It is not LIKE IVF its just a comparison of the stats which I think is a little misleading!!

It is not going to solve a problem if there is one, like IVF might, its simply trying to help you get the timing right.

Loup23 · 12/10/2011 16:52

Yes far agree comparison can't be made, with us my tests came back normal but DH hasn't been tested so I'm pretty sure that despite duo's claim it cannot remedy DH problem with swimmers if there is one! I think we're going to carry on for a few months and get tests done in NY if no joy.

sprinkles maybe cbfm missed it then, that's happened to me and if ic and ff say o occurred then perhaps trust that - will look at chart when at home. Love your mum's gp's advice that's the no nonsense stuff I need, my mum would agree!!
