Just checking in really. farfalla My machine has not asked for a stick yet either, I'm CD 7 today. Assuming it will in the next couple of days. We're going on holiday next week, thinking of leaving off the sticks this month, as not sure I want to take the machine away, imagine the questions at airport security! And the time i need to test is while on the plane. With toddler! FFS! Def no chance of joining the mile high club on this trip. Shame, imagine telling DC where it was conceived!

SBC, how's Theo getting on? This morning I rode the baby of the group for the first time. She's 4 and been in work about 4 months, prior to that was raced and then turned away. Actually was as good as gold! That is the only kind of riding I'm up for at the moment though... the bedroom variety has definitely lost its charm for the time being!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 27/08/2011 14:18

I know exactly what you mean with it being a chore - we have taken a month off DTD this month, but still want to conceive Confused! We have used the softcup method at the crucial times this month so still in the running! Our shifts have just not been compatible with DTD either so am not feeling too guilty. Hopefully next cycle we will be back in the saddle!!

Sprinkles - Theo is utterly wonderful, I stupidly left his slip on in the stable, thinking it would be fine, nothing to get hooked on etc etc, but somehow he managed to get the water from outside the stable and bashed his leg, he has given his splint bone a whack, so it has a beautiful lump which is unlikely to go completely - good job I wasn't planning for the show ring! He's fine though, no pain etc etc. Have a one day event with my ex-racer tomorrow - he was an angel from day one having come out of training - I gave him a year off, think it helps them rejuvenate after the stresses of racing.

Fingers crossed for you all this month x

Ok, so who's seen my peak? I know 'tis lurking here but somehow it's gone AWOL which is not cool! Especially as I've booked hycosy assuming normal cycle length and now am worried may just be peaking late and hence timing all off. Grrrr! If anyone sees it lurking let me know Smile

threeisamagicnumber · 01/09/2011 20:43

could someone explain the abbreviations to me and I will join???

taytotayto · 01/09/2011 21:41

hi girls.....i need your help so sorry for gate crashing......

when you get your peak do you get two then a high as this is what i get. can i also ask when you get a peak how long is it actually until you ovulate??? this month we bd on last high before peak then for the two peaks. should we have done it on high after the second peak? i find this ttc carry on so confusing that its a wonder anyone gets pregnant!!!!!

boba82 · 02/09/2011 09:07

I think the peak means you will ovulate sometime within the next 24-36 hours taytotayto. Sperm can survive for a few days so you should be covered.

so excited.... I got three bars today!!!

jazzy283 · 05/09/2011 12:35

Advice PLease Ladies for the past 2 months My AF has arrived 10 days after my first peak so i have been doing some research and decided to look into B6 100 complex from H&Barrett, Has anyone else tried this ? Do you take all the way through cycle (seems to be conflicting stories ) i know you get rid of what you dont need but wanted to see if anyone on here had tried b4 :) :)

Thanks in advance xx

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 05/09/2011 16:41

'Tis exciting stripedcat - swi for you!

jazzy - I tried the B6 thing for months, did nothing. 10 days is not really a problem. I would make note of times each month and give the info to consultant if you get to that stage. If you are going to use it I think it is for after ov and epo for up to.

Hope everyone is well

SBC

Loup23 · 05/09/2011 21:51

HI jazzy I also read the same re b6 and so have taken it since feb, it seems to help slightly lengthen my LP and the first month I tried it my O day came earlier which was good. Good luck.

Need to catch up on thread as just back from hols but wondered if anyone could help with a query Confused my cbfm still seems to be giving me 9 or more highs a month before peaks, I know the first few months u can get a few more highs but I'm nearly a year down the line and again this month I've had 10 highs so far... Was thinking of calling the helpline but wondered if you lovely ladies might help.

Waves to all an sorry for not name checking, will read thread and update properly x

MiniH · 06/09/2011 20:17

Loup - do you ever 'read' your sticks? I've found that I will sometimes get a high early on (and lines on stick suggest estrogen rising) but sticks for next few days will not show oestrogen rising so have always put it down to a bit of a rogue first reading. However, if is happening all the time I would call the helpline as it should be more sensitive to your cycle by now.

Loup23 · 07/09/2011 11:42

Thanks minih I do look at the sticks and it seems the oestregen line comes and goes, together with the LH line - this morning both were fairly dark (CD20) but still no peak, expecting a peak possibly over next few days (but usually by then ewcm has dried up!) so I have no idea what's going on - all I know is that I have never had a month where I have had less than 8 or 9 high days and that surely cannot be right! So frustrating, the CBFm seems to work so well for so many.....

I have called the CBFM helpline and they are going to call back so i'll update once they do just in case anybody else is having the same problem! Waves to all and hopes some BFPs show up soon......

farfallarocks · 08/09/2011 15:00

loup that is interesting, the same thing happened to me last month, started getting highs on day 7!!

This month they started on day 11
However, I am actually losing faith with the CB monitor a bit.

For the 2nd time I have had a positive OPK :) on day 13, about 3 days after EWCM so I think its correct but not got a peak on the CBFM. First time got the peak 3 days later and this month I never got the peak at all. They are both made by CB and they both claim to be 99% accurate.

I think the CBFM is helpful for catching the high days but I am getting to know my body now (EWCM etc) and I think it is sometimes missing the peak for some reason. Hmmmmmm

Anyone else had this?

sprinkles77 · 08/09/2011 22:43

Hi folks, just back from hols. Very little SWI due to bit stressy and tired with DS and heat. But took the monitor with. Had absolutely FA (all lows) till today (CD20) and went straight to peak. Conveniently had shagged last night (just for the fun of it, can you believe it?!), and SWI this am and now on 2WW. Who knows eh?

Interesting about "reading" the actual sticks. I had noticed one blue line (not sure if on every stick, cos not really paying attention), but definitely 2 very clear lines today. Up till this month I have never paid much attention whatsoever to what my body was actually doing, but definitely noticed EWCM 2 days ago, and am now getting the characteristic pains that tend to kick in as the same time as the CBFM says peak. I'm going to start recording what goes on so I can see if a pattern emerges, just for my own personal interest, assuming I don't get up diffed this month.

Loup23 · 09/09/2011 11:27

Just to let you know the answer from the helpline... I must have high oestregen at the beginning of my cycle that either drops off before rising or continues to rise - basically once the monitor has recorded a high it won't record a low I think.... Anyway not overly helpful but carried on and then got my peak yesterday and today (cd 20 and 21) so officially on the 2ww with you sprinkles good luck!

far I'm also not convinced with the cbfm, it's been really good for friends but I think the peak comes a bit late for me so this month we have tried to cover the highs as well and focus on whether I get ewcm! My temp shot up today on second peak day so am hoping the SWI on weds and yesterday was timed right...... Also, a friend who is now updiffed (4 months) got pg on a cycle with just highs so hoping that might work for you far...

Waves to all x

farfallarocks · 09/09/2011 14:43

Thanks loup! I am also convinced the peaks are coming late for me too.
The month I did get updiffed (sadly miscarried) we had only done the deed on the highs not the peak and I had got a positive OPK 2 days before the peak!

AuntieDoris · 09/09/2011 23:13

Gah. Why does everyone else seem to get pregnant using all the gadgets such as CBFM? TTC is costing me a bloody fortune!

sprinkles77 · 10/09/2011 13:17

loup any symptoms to spot yet?! Clearly none here yet.

auntiedoris it is getting expensive. I'm using less sticks by using the first one a couple of days after the machine first asks (mine asks on about day 9) then not using any more after the first peak. If I did what the machine says I'd use 20 every month. So this month I used only 8, a massive saving! Have also promised myself no more pg tests until AF is seriously late ( M flashing for at least a week), assuming I have the will power, cos those are another expensive habit. Sainsbury's have 2 pg tests for about £5, which is OK ish, I trust them more than the internet paper ones. God knows why. Oh and you can get them at poundland too. Oh and never mind the expense of taking pre- conception supplements!

sprinkles77 · 10/09/2011 19:11

ok, wierdy thing. Just turned on CBFM outside of my testing window and got 2 bars. The wierd thing is thus....Have not POAS today as don't once I get the first peak. So POAS and got a peak 2 days ago. Yesterday did not POAS and got another peak (which I expected from last month), today did not POAS and has high / 2 bars. Does this sound right? SBC I think you said that you don't POAS after you get a peak, does this happen to you? I assume this is because you are expected to have a high day (or two) after peak. Bit irritating as thought hoping SWI was over for this month. Who called it a "shag dictator"? Very erudite!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 10/09/2011 20:04

Hi - yes it will just automatically give a peak then a couple of highs once you have poas and got the first peak day -should save you a fair few sticks over the months. I can make a pack of 20 last for 3 months now- this now works ou cheaper than using a lot of the other opks (except the super cheap eba/amazon ones, but they aren't as reliable)

Am expecting a peak mon/tues, am on highs currently so not letting dh know that the "shag dictator" says so!

Loup23 · 11/09/2011 22:01

Hi sprinkles nothing to report as yet mainly because a couple of months I thought I had symptoms it was bfn Angry temps also v up and down so wondering if I did in fact ovulate this month. How many dpo are you now? Any symptoms? Fx for both of us Smile

sprinkles77 · 11/09/2011 22:33

3 dpo loup. FX indeed! No symptoms though. I'm actually going to try to ignore any symptoms, or put them down to PMT (they are very similar really aren't they?) so as not to get hopes up. It is what it is as DH would say.

I don't proper charting with temps etc, just the CBFM. It would probably give me a fuller picture. Will think about it next month maybe. I can get a bit obsessed with things, which is not helpful. I suppose if I ever ended up at a fertility clinic it might be useful extra info.

Loup23 · 12/09/2011 09:57

We're about the same then sprinkles although weirdly this month as mentioned temp is quite low and also didnt have mid cycle bleeding which I normally do so think my useless body wasn't ready this month..,. Am not going to test until AF definitely late, next weds I think.... X
