Can I join? Stats Sprinkles77 TTC No 2 Cycle 5 CBFM cycle 2 UCL 31 CD 7.
babyslightlycrazed, interesting that CBFM is programmed to give 2 peak days, the leaflet suggested only one, so I was very confused. Last cycle was my first using it, I had no "high" days, it just went straight to "peak" at day 16. What does everyone make of this? Just mighty pissed off cos got preg cycle 1 last time, having just stopped the pill, naively thought it would be just as easy this time! I think the shagging strategy of every other day then daily through highs and peaks sounds sensible, just such hard work! We actually DTD just for fun yesterday!

tillydream · 25/07/2011 15:09

Hi All, Trying to update the stats and don't think I've managed it! On day 4 cycle no. 13 :( if someone would be so kind!!
I've got an updat eappointment on Thursday (28th) not looking forwward to it as i know they will say there is nothing else they can do, it's just unexplained blah blah blah....... :((((
Any strategies for getting a grip much appreciated!

Tilly xx

Welcome BumbleBee and sprinkles - I will add you onto the stats tomorrow, so we don't end up with too long a pages with no chatter!

Bumble - this is a very good place to vent - has been a godsend to me through the tough times - there are very few people in RL that know we are TTC, none of which have any idea what a crushing blow it is every month when AF arrives. How long have you been trying before the CBFM?

sprinkles - glad you have managed to dtd for fun - that is no mean feat! The CBFM takes the first couple of months to work you out and then will give you highs before peaks. It is very promising for you that it gave peak in the first cycle most people don't get any peaks for a couple of months!

Tilly - I was starting to think we'd lost you! When I went back for the update appointment I felt just the same, then they referred me to the Endocrinologist, which has resulted in me ov'ing day 12-14 and I actually feel quite positive that I WILL get preggers at some point. So, advice is - chin up, write down any questions you have and you may just find it goes well. Whenever I have an appointment I do secretly hope that I will have a BFP before it and not have to go though - I do so hate consultants bedside manner (or lack of it!).

Keziahhopes · 25/07/2011 19:36

Tilly - what tests have you had? I don't believe in the word "unexplained" anymore, but unfortunately have found out that NHS consultants don't test for everything. The book by Dr Beer, Baby Friendly Body, has really helped me and we have found our answers, after failed ICSI, after Immune testing - level 1 and level 2. Have you been advised to go down this route? It is not cheap, unfortunately and treatment for immune issues certainly adds thousands to any fertility treatment, but can be one answer to why conception is not achieved.

boba82 · 25/07/2011 19:37

tilly when we first saw consultant at FC I said my worst fear was unexplained infertility but he said that's actually the best outcome of tests as higher eventual success rate so don't be disappointed if that's the news you get. Sorry if you have to repeat yourself but what tests etc have you already had done?

slightlybabycrazed - it's complicated, basically. I haven't used contraception for a couple of years at least, but my partner suffers from health issues that meant we rarely dtd. I've watched everyone around me get BFPs, and endured lots of people telling me I should 'hurry up', little knowing how much I wished I could. But I bought the CBFM to increase our chances and we have now set about it in earnest, and this has coincided with an improvement in my partner's health, so I feel that this month we may actually have a chance - things are looking optimistic! And last month I got a peak (and also had 21 day bloods done, so fingers crossed...).

sprinkles77 · 25/07/2011 21:47

SlightlyBabyCrazed thanks for the reassurance. I'm assuming we'll conceive naturally as did so last time, but I can see I'm not the only one having difficulty with no. 2! I get a bit of mild, grumbling pelvic pain in the second half of my cycle, mostly on the right hand side (no painkillers needed, so not bad at all), and pretty minor period pains. I actually cannot remember what is normal having always been on the pill (except while preg). Don't know if this means anything. Part of me worries that my reproductive system could be a bit awry mechanically having had an EMCS, maybe adhesions or something.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 26/07/2011 21:28

Hi
I'm getting seriously annoyed now, i'm on cycle day 52!! 27dpo!! AND no AF!! Had bloods done on fri and will need to wait up to 2 weeks for results. I'm just so upset, weve been told we need to wait 18 months but clearly something is wrong now!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 27/07/2011 20:08

Hi all,

Izzy - when I was first diagnosed with PCOS I did not have a period for a whole year - are you PCOS?

Sprinkles - I too get the grumbling on right side - I keep trying to ignore it or decide it's a grumbling appendix - does anyone on here have any suggestions? I never noticed it before TTC, it may have always been there, who knows. I think I'll mention it next time I see consultant or GP.

Bumble - sounds like things are on the up for you!

I am in the 2nd week of the 2WW, my sense of smell rather ridiculous for past couple of days and sore boobs - this month not sore from OV, has waited a week. This month I have stopped taking EPO at OV, so may be the reason. I do tend to get a heightened sense of smell in run up to AF, so trying to not make too much of it. However, I seem to be able to tell whether the car in front is petrol or diesel by smell - this is a new one for me!

Thanks guys, have to POAS on Tuesday, so trying to keep busy until then!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 28/07/2011 17:52

Ekk, think I'm going mental - been looking at maternity clothes!

Also, just had a teensy weeny bit of brown discharge (7 days since IUI). Think I'm gonna go out and look at horses for a bit to avoid googling early prenancy symptoms - undoubtedly I'm setting myself up for a fall!

boba82 · 28/07/2011 18:24

Yes sbc step away from google and t'internet in general. It'll be along weekend but worth not POAS until AF is due at least - trust me! x x

Hi everyone, would like to join in if that's ok. I got af at the beginning of the week after first month of trying to conceive. Feels like forever though as we have been waiting to try for a couple of years due to me being on some medicines that meant trying for a baby wasn't an option. I've had 5 months off them so now we really have to go for it and hope I don't get too ill. So even getting this far has been an emotional roller coaster! Nothing like pressure! So now we are looking at starting month 2. It's silly but I felt a failure and it was only month 1!

It looks as if my details are very similar to Bumblebees:

Hi all, just wanted to check in and say hello. We're back from our holiday - slightly rainy week in Scotland - but it was nice to get away.

I'm going to bow out of this thread now and join the grads thread because we've just come back from an 8-week scan which clearly showed baby (well, not clearly a baby but clear to the consultant!) and strong heartbeat. Whilst I know that doesn't guarantee everything will go okay from here, I feel we've reached a real milestone and it's time to start believing!

So, just wanted to say thank you for all the support you've given. And really really good luck to all of you. I really hope you all get the BFPs you're seeking.
xxxxx

Anytime · 29/07/2011 17:22

Thanks for the welcome sbc. I plan to make the most of a couple of glasses of Wine this weekend and then knuckle down to focussing on next month. Poor husband, he was in shock this month! How you doing staying away from google, I wasn't too good at not obsessing with google this month. Have pledged not to obsess next month though and then found myself watching baby births in the tv this morning when I was supposed to be working from home. Not sure its that healthy but oh well! Is it just me?! Blush

izzybizzybuzzybees · 29/07/2011 17:26

Hi everyone, I'm still waiting for AF. I called the drs for my blood test results, my thyroid is normal but hormone levels aren't so I've had to make an appt to discuss. First one I could get was for Aug 10th :( x

sprinkles77 · 30/07/2011 20:13

Well, I couldn't stop myself. Has to POAS this morning. No way could I have been pg, but I've been feeling shit. Nauseaus, light headed, no appetite (lost a couple of pounds), exactly like when I was pg with DS. And last AF was very short and light so you never know. Wishful thinking of course, BFN!

Anytime · 31/07/2011 02:24

Hi sprinkles, completely understand wishful thinking. Hope you feel better anyway.

Izzy, 10th August is along time, hang in there.

I've been out tonight, think I gave my friend a bit too much baby making efforts info after a couple of Wines! Oops.

boba82 · 31/07/2011 17:05

Been there anytime!

izzy sorry you're having to wait to see Doc and that levels aren't "normal". Hopefully you'll get to bottom of what's going on. Once I'd had PCOS diagnosis I felt I had some control over what was happening and could try and do something positive. Let us know how you get on.

sprinkles sorry about the bfn

sprinkles77 · 01/08/2011 08:10

Izzy, that's so frustrating having to wait for an appointment. Why not keep calling for a cancellation, they may well have some now its the holidays. And at least like boba says, with a diagnosis should come a plan of action.

CBFM just gave me a high for the first time. DH in too much of a rush to shag this AM. So is currently having a quick wank into a cup and I'm going to use a syringe! Hilarious. Going to flood myself with sperms so they're all waiting in good numbers for my little eggy when it comes. Seriously, I'm going mad.

sprinkles77 · 01/08/2011 08:18

OH, and just in case that wasn't already TMI, I'm using one of DS's nurafen syringes, and I think he's got porn on his iphone!
