LisaJayne - how long have you been ttc#2? I would recommend the CBFM, and it is much cheaper on Amazon, and sticks on Amazon work otu £7 a month. Much cheaper than private fertility treatment we found!! Grin Any private clinic should accept all NHS tests, which is so helpful. Do ask for a print out of all blood tests, semen analysis tests etc to keep. We started a file, asked for all test results every time - usually got gp receptionist to print out. You will also need recent smear test for private clinic, so if not got one in last 6 months worth asking for one. Also private clinic will need chlymdia tests - can be done at same time as smear (I insisted that I would not have chlymdia but they would not offer treatment without it, even on NHS!!) To find a private clinic it depends where you live - lots of good ones near London: The Lister, ARGC, Guys etc. Then the Care chain that are Nottingham, Manchester, Sheffield and 7 other places. Must be lots of others too, they often do free open evenings once a month which is a great source of information. We did NHS and private.

LisaJayneS · 10/07/2011 13:52

Keziahhopes we've been ttc %232 for 19 mths now approx. Good advice re getting copy of tests - will do that when we go on Fri. I had to have chlamydia test to get referred to NHS clinic (and even better than there being absolutely NO chance of me having it, the nurse that did it at our GP was one of the other mums from nursery! Nice. I ended up explaining why I needed it as didn't want her thinking there was any other reason....) might ask about the smear too - I had one not that long ago I think but not sure when due again or how recently they'll need it to be. xx

LisaJayneS · 10/07/2011 13:53

That should have said ttc no 2 bit evidently iPhone didn't like the hash sign....

Keziahhopes · 10/07/2011 16:29

Yes. If you have copies of results private clinics will use them. Oh dear with sti test. I told nurse why I needed it too!

Hi ladies, sorry to jump on your thread uninvited! I'm just in need of a little advice from what looks like the experts.
Well, a lady off another thread I previously was on kindly gave me her cbfm
So I started to use it from this month, it asked me to poas at day 15 but not since?? Should I have tested daily from then? Or just then???
It stayed at 2 bars until sat which was day 25 and went back to one bar??
Really want to use it correctly as this is now my 11 month post mmc last year.
Any help you could offer would be fantastic.
Thanks for reading x

Keziahhopes · 11/07/2011 19:00

Hi,
If you use a CBFM that someone else has used you need to reset it - as it has stored the other person's data on it, hence it knew to poas at day 15 etc. The information should be in the leaftlet with it. If you reset it, then on day 1 of next cycle press the button it should ask you to poas from day 9 (I think from memory) and probably ask for all 20 sticks the first month to get to know your cycle and then 10 sticks a month after that.

Feel free to post here as much as you like Smile

mrsb33 · 11/07/2011 19:45

Thanks khopes, I seem to be following you sorry, I promise I'm not a stalker.
Well I thought I reset the bugga but maybe I didn't do it right?? I will reset again this month and start afresh! How frustrating is this ttc lark!
Thanks for the advice on the vitamins, I'm currently on the zita west web site. X

mrsb33 · 11/07/2011 20:42

sorry to keep stalking you khopes, but where did you get your dh's menevit from?

Keziahhopes · 11/07/2011 20:47

Hey no problems mrsb.... dh's menevit (I swear by it!! As have 4 Semen tests to show results!) we bought 3 months at a time, from an Australian Chemist that uses Royal Mail here. Came quickly, about £43 for 3 months supply, including postage.

Chemist was cincottachemist cincottachemist.com.au/product/984236-buy-menevit-capsules-90-online
hope the info helps.

Keziahhopes · 11/07/2011 20:50

They don't do menevit in UK. Care - a private fertility clinic, or rather group of clinics recommended Menevit to us, either that or buy 6 different Uk products to get what they recommend for male infertility issues.

Took about 9 months after dh started Menevit, 1/2months of me on Zita West (found cheaper on another site rather than hers! Can't remember which, will ask DH) and the 7 year journey has hopefully come to an end. Am only 5 weeks, so long way to go - but have never had a positive test before.

Stalk away - that is how I learnt Grin

mrsb33 · 11/07/2011 21:25

Great will do my research then and see what I can find out. Congrats on the bfp. Positive thoughts being sent your way! X

izzybizzybuzzybees · 11/07/2011 22:07

Well I'm 12dpo today and no sign of AF, which is unusual, my lp previously was 10/11 days at most. I'm on nightshift tonight, started at 4.30pm and I finish at 9am tomorrow so still time for her to show up! X

Ilovekittyelise · 12/07/2011 12:12

izzy.....if no sign of period i double dare you....

izzybizzybuzzybees · 12/07/2011 20:44

Ok so i poas and BFN :( not happy!

ElmMum · 13/07/2011 07:47

Morning all, just wanted to check in and say hi, hope you're all okay.

I am still waiting for some proper symptoms. Very very very faint feeling in my stomach on first waking up but really couldn't call it nausea, more an empty feeling. And maybe boobs bit tender. But it's all so faint that I think I'm imagining it really. So, still feeling very cautious and not at all sure this is real.

Have another appointment with midwife at the end of the month when hopefully (they will, I plan to make sure) they'll refer us for an early reassurance scan.

We're off on hols for a week, so will be offline for a bit. Here's to some BPFs while I'm away :) x

Lychees · 13/07/2011 09:22

Just wanted to say a big congratulations to Keziah!

happyland · 13/07/2011 09:50

Hi all, havent even got round to introdcuing myself - Bought the CBFM (2nd hand) last month. Bit sceptical as my cycle is irregular - anything from 41 days to 80 but thought is cant hurt. Been TTC ing for 6 months.

And after 1 month of the CBFM I got a BFP!!! And it never even gave me a peak, just highs. Tested this morning, verrry nervously as I really didn't want to see another BFN and its a big fat strong line. I am desperately hoping its not a false positive, I only bought one test (on hols in france) so I cant double check.

So tentative good news and best of luck to all the cbfm users

izzybizzybuzzybees · 13/07/2011 10:20

Wow! Congratulations happyland!

Keziahhopes · 13/07/2011 12:52

Smile at Lychees - thanks!!

Gosh Happyland that is amazing. Highs are all you need - that is when you need to swi!! Let us know when you back in UK!

ElmMum - know the feeling. I can't get a scan until 8 weeks, despite being now on 4 medications by the gynaecologist (ivf one I saw privately on Tue due to immune issues) and high risk etc due to having had a stroke in spring etc. Had to push for 8 week scan and don't see anyone in NHS until 8 weeks!! I think they thing, we do birth - no point until see a heartbeat. But we have booked a private scan - internet search found us one with pro-scan, for £75. After spending a fortune on private prescription drugs to try and maintain pregnancy, including 2 intralipids ahead of us (£300+ each), that seemed at cheaper end to reduce anxiety.

Now on: clexane, steroids, pessaries (joy!) and thyroxine as a result of immune tests on Tuesday. My body basically attacks "invaders" -but keep telling body this baby is not an invader! Had a private beta HcG today to check I am pregnant ElmMum as hardly any symptoms here (nausea gone) and it was 12,000 which sounds good.

ElmMum · 13/07/2011 21:26

Kezia, what's a private beta HcG? Sounds like something I'd like to have done! x

Keziahhopes · 13/07/2011 23:01

Elm - definitely. It is a blood test that (a) proves you are pregnant and (b) the beta one gives you a number that shows you are in the right week bracket. Ideally you have 2, 48 hours apart with numbers doubling (or some percentage) to prove pregnancy is developing. My level was above the scale for 5 weeks so they said no point waiting for 48 hours, do infusion on Friday instead as really should have already had it. Gp refused to do it as they say wait till 8 weeks, but I paid £37 at the clinic I had ivf at (this one is natural miracle) because they wanted to check I was pregnant before I paid £300 for an intralipid infusion (found out my body attacks foreign bodies, ie embryo's, hence intralipid to try and save the pregnancy).

But if you have already had a baby, or had no problems in pregnancy then the clear blue digitals apparently do the same job.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 14/07/2011 18:58

Well i'm still here, 15dpo according to when i ov'd. Had another BFN yesterday so cant face testing again, i have no clue whats going on this cycle!!

boba82 · 14/07/2011 19:22

keziah that all sounds very promising! Glad you've had the blood test to put your mind at rest for the moment. Roll on three weeks eh?! x

Hi all,

Day 2 for me, AF arrived as expected and on time which is a bit of a bummer. However, I've stocked up on Folic Acid, bought myself the Emma Cannon baby making bible and am ready to start again. Just thought I would pop in to say I haven't been around much and am likely to be around even less, if at all over the next few months as I have coursework/exams and a wedding to finish planning and get through followed by a honeymoon of course! Everything is getting very chaotic and stressful.

So just wanted to say, I shall lurk to listen out for good news but best of luck to everyone and I will let you know if I get a BFP in the meantime!!! xx
