Congrats Kelpie

Elm - accupuncture sounds like a plan forward. Hope your test results ok. I am on cd2, 3yrs into ttc~1 - each month one would think it would get easier when AF arrives, but no.... Sad

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 05/06/2011 13:25

Congratulations Waterkelpie

Welcome back ElmMum, a bit of time out often helps, let us know how you get on with the acupuncture

x

MiniH · 05/06/2011 15:17

Congrats waterkelpie - we'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for you.

ElmMum - I'm on week two of acupuncture so I hope you enjoy it.

Am on 2ww so nothing exciting to report. Met up with my friend who had to have a termination earlier this year because the baby was very sick and she finally seems to be on the mend after a really rough time. I am so pleased for her and I know what we are going through is nothing in comparison to how hard that must have been.

raspberrytipple · 05/06/2011 16:22

Congratulations waterkelpie xx

Ilovekittyelise · 05/06/2011 17:58

congrats kelpie thats wonderful news. after i had a chemical pregnancy i started taking baby aspirin (the 75mg stuff) which there is some evidence to suggest supports early pregnancy...other than that zinc, pregnacare, relaxing and going with the flow. i hope this one sticks will be thinking of you (if i was a god squadder i would pray for you!)

Kelpie - in antenatal there is a graduates from CBFM if you want to pop and say hello and your good news etc !

Hi Raspberry and Mamabelli - hope your stay here is short, sweet and successful! Mamabelli - I added you but feel free to add the other stats etc

Well I am back on cd2, month 34 of knowingly ttc! Sad

raspberrytipple · 06/06/2011 07:15

Well, I dreamt last night that I tested and got a BFP, then did a further three and they were all the same! Hope it's a premonition.... However I'm only about 7dpo so I doubt a test will pick it up just yet :-s

farfallarocks · 06/06/2011 08:38

Huge congrats Kelpie that is just so exciting!
Welcome Mamabelli and Rasberry and I hope your dream comes true!

I thought I would let you know what happened over the weekend in case helpful.

I had been getting highs since CD11 (thursday) I was convinved I would get a peak this weekend, especially as my other signs were there (EWCM, very horny!) but just kept getting highs.
Yesterday (CD13) I did an OPK at 4pm, nothing. Did another at 10pm and got a smiley face. This morning was back to nothing and CBFM still saying high.

So my conclusion is that it is possible for the monitor to miss your peak as it can last just a few hours. By the morning I think the surge was over although I managed to pick it up last month in the morning.

We did the did yesterday afternoon so I think we are covered (could not tempt DH again last night or this morning unfortunately!)

Has anyone else had this?
I am now wondering whether to continue testing this month as it will just be a waste of sticks. On the other hand I think the cylce needs the info?

jazzy283 · 06/06/2011 10:40

Congrats Kelpie i have been away for a few days i am now 3 days past AF due date im dyin to tet but going to wait as i dont have the normal preg syps that everyone talks about apart from a ragging head ache everyday and soooo tired but not looking to much into it or getting my hopes up

Loup23 · 06/06/2011 12:05

congrats kelpie sorry i've been away so just catching up on threads. Got my peak today so dreaded 2ww will start today/tomorrow.

far i would keep doing the sticks so the machine gets to know you, I also had that one month, the surge occurs during the day/PM normally but then I would have thought your machine picked up a peak this morning.... I'm sure KC will be able to offer some assistance, she is the CBFM guru!

farfallarocks · 06/06/2011 12:38

Thanks Loup!
Will keep the faith with it then, at leasat it is giving me some good advanced warning with the highs.
I have read that it is imperative that the little swimmer are there, waiting for the egg so I was concerned about 'missing' the surge to be honest.
I think the day/evening before the peak is critical because apparently the LH surge takes a while to be detected in the urine anyway.

Jazzy, 3 days past AF? You should definitiely test!!! Although from memory you ovulated quite late, is that right?

jazzy283 · 06/06/2011 12:41

Far yep i did 10dpo now !

MiniH · 06/06/2011 13:33

Far - I had the same thing with the CBFM missing my surge, but picking it up on the smiley face opk. This only happened the first proper month of using cbfm though, as next month either my surge was longer or the cbfm was just more sensitive to my levels.

Jazzy - I agree to hold off testing if you possibly can, as because you ovulated late and are only 10 dpo you're not really late with AF yet (assuming a 14 day luteal phase). The dent in my bank balance is not exactly testament to my ability to hold-off testing though!

jazzy283 · 06/06/2011 14:11

no im 10 d LP but i am holding off why do we put ourselves through this lol

Keziahhopes · 06/06/2011 15:50

Wow impressed with your resolve Jazzy but sounds wise. Like MiniH I went through a spell of buying tests = then found cheap internet ones, which made it worse - so I have banned them all now!

Waves to loup - all best for 2ww.

Far - I like the cbfm as it tells me when high - so even if surge missed then I know when is the right time! Though mine never missed the surge, but then I am not a good advert for cbfm as in 3rd year of ttc but I like it taking the stress out each month - which with 30+months of serious ttc I need! I tried ignoring it also, to see if it was wrong - but no difference etc. But like SBC I am hoping that now our prolactin levels are down there is a chance!

farfallarocks · 06/06/2011 16:05

Good luck to everyone in the 2WW I will be joining you shortly!

Jazzy, I have just ordered internet chepies from amazon as well.
Apparently waiting until 12dpo is the best plan but if you manage it you are a strong woman than me!

Interesting about missing the surge in the first month, that is what I was expecting whereas it got it in month 1. This month (2) it missed it but I have had more lead times in the highs.
That suits me because I have a short cycle and I just have a feeling that I ovulate very soon after the sirge (I suspect the 12 rather than 36 hours) and therefore I need to DTD BEFORE the surge not 12 hours later.
Hmmmmmm.

Best of luck Kezia!

MiniH · 06/06/2011 16:13

I was such a test-aholic that I've even tested after my period has started Grin

to be fair though, I do have light periods though so just wanted to make sure.............

who am I kidding, im just addicted.

WaterKelpie · 06/06/2011 16:25

Thanks everyone! I will have a look at the CBFM graduate board.

Good luck!

jazzy283 · 06/06/2011 18:09

ok i made it past boots on the way home without going in DH suggested i leave my wallet and cards with him and just go to work with small change for the nxt 4 days so i dont spend money on BFN so thats what im doing gonna be strong incase good old AF takes me by surprise by if she aint by friday im test test testing lol lol lol

farfallarocks · 07/06/2011 08:31

Oh jazzy, really best of luck!!
I am very confused here, got a peak this morning, CD15, although I got a positive opk on day 13 which would be more usual for my cycle.
Looking at the stick this morning, the line on the left (by the wick) was definitely darker than the right so that sounds about right.
So confusing!
DTD last night so I hoping we have it covered regardless as DH is out tonight.
I don't understand how they can both be right though!

jazzy283 · 07/06/2011 09:07

far it is really confusing i know my 1st cycle (this one) was very confusing i still have no sign of AF today although for some reason i have a sneaky feeling she is going to rear her ugly head woke up this morning feeling very low about the whole thing really struggling to carry on with it at the moment feel like my body is playing very cruel tricks on me :( :( :(

WaterKelpie · 07/06/2011 16:05

Awww, jazzy, hang on in there! It's not over until it's over! I will be thinking of you.

raspberrytipple · 07/06/2011 16:53

Fingers crossed for you Jazzy. I know the feeling. I've had a few late periods (one 35 days when I'm usually 29/30). I was gutted when I then started AF and cried for a whole day. Our bodies can be very cruel when they want to be.

None more so than mine to me today :( Was getting ready for work this morning and my vision went (migraine), thought I had caught it early enough to kill it off with painkillers (naive I know) so got into work, looked like crap but by 930 was feeling very sick and light headed so ended up being brought home by a colleague after nearly throwing up over her then standing in the corridor crying my eyes out it hurt that much. I get about 4/5 a year and this is my second this year I think. My mum used to get migraines in early pg (5 pg's but only me and my brother sadly) so I'm wondering if it's a sign?! Wishful thinking I'm sure and it might be a bit desperate but it's distracted me quite nicely this afternoon while I've been semi conscious on the bed! Currently having the euphoric/slightly hyper feeling starting to set in although my head still feels like lead and my god do I want to eat!!

Keziahhopes · 07/06/2011 18:14

Ooh, hope you feeling better raspberry - and that it is a pg sign also!

I have had some horrific headaches recently, put them down to hayfever and whiplash - and I could have put them down to more pg spotting symptoms! Hope you can eat and feel better soon.
