Hi all

keziah I haven't a clue what those numbers mean or letters tbh sorry

Hey raspberry !

Well I got a peak this morning so swi, do I have another go tonight or wait till tomorrow? Will I get another peak tomorrow?

Got periody cramps now and spots could that be ov?

Keziahhopes · 31/05/2011 23:12

Hi weimy - different people say different things. My dh's sperm not the best on stats so we were told every other day, but some people do once a day, some more! Why not vary it each month - that way it covers all bases Grin

m4z · 01/06/2011 10:21

Hi,

Just found you guys, how wonderful. I've just started using the cb monitor. On day 4. So no tests yet. I'm
feeling positive as last couple if months have been stressful and not so good.

We on hol, when I should be most fertile, I'm
hoping this is a good sign as we'll be able to relax and no work
the next day but we do have our 2yo which may make it tough. We'll have to see.

How long has e eryone Bern using the monitor? I know you guys are taking about tests, I don't know much about them, I had a blood test, Dix said it was normal, then she said to have another blood test on day 21 ( I think) to test progestorone levels??? Anyone done this?

Also, do you think it would be funny for me to ask for a copy of my blood results?

m4z · 01/06/2011 10:23

Sorry, loadsa spelling mistakes, that's what happens when I type from
the phone. I can spell really! x

raspberrytipple · 01/06/2011 13:16

Thanks SlightlyBabyCrazed! I got two days of peaks and SWI on the first day (Sunday), nothing on the second day (DP in a mood!) then yesterday it went back to two bars and today one bar so looks like I'm done for the month and can now start symptom spotting :D

Hey Weimy! How are you getting on? I'm quite liking have the CBFM actually, I feel much more in control. I also picked up one of the used sticks yesterday just to look at the two lines instead of one on it and kinda (I know I'm mad) pretended that it was a pg test. I think Im losing the plot :(

MiniH · 01/06/2011 19:28

Welcome m4z - I'm due day 21 tests next week so am in similar boat. I Don't think it's weird to ask for copy of results at all. In fact my acupuncturist asked for them.

So update here is I had first acupuncture session this morning. she spent ages taking a history and checked my Tongue (apparently it's tired looking!) and then finally we got round to the needles. She put one in each foot, 2 on my legs and belly, one each wrist and one on the back of my head. I couldn't really feel any of them tbh - was a tiny pinch when she inserted them that was all. She did put one on my forehead, but that was uncomfortable so she moved it to the back of my head. She then put a heat lamp on my belly and left me for 20 mins. When she took them out one of the ones on my wrist bled a tiny amount but that was it. That wrist did sting a little for about 30 mins, but no worse than a paper cut. My belly also ached a little for an hour or so after, but wasn't too bad and definitely not as bad as period pains or anything like that. Let's see if it does the trick.

Also had day 3 (or rather day 5) results back and apparently they are all normal. She didn't give me the actual values though so am going to ask for them next week at next blood test.

All in all a positive day.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 01/06/2011 21:00

Keziah - well done on the reduced prolactin! At the 3 day mark FSH of 6-10 is considered a good ovarian reserve - I'm not sure if it goes up and down throughout the month though Hmm and LH should go above 20 for the surge so looks pretty promising to my self-trained eye!

I'm sure KC will be along soon to give the more educated response though x

weimy · 01/06/2011 21:39

raspberry I feel much calmer and more in control with the cbfm too Grin.

keziah thanks, we are going for once a day Blush

farfallarocks · 02/06/2011 10:27

Morning all, have been away for a few days and just trying to keep up with all the posts!
We have been religiously taking the Zita West Vits and am on day 10 today but still low. Am expecting my highs and peaks over the weekend so timing wise should be good!

I have a quick question about the lines on the sticks. I have noticed that the line on the left (by the pee bit) never gets darker than the one on the right, not even when I get a peak. And the same is true of the smiley face sticks. Does that mean anything at all or should I just rely on the digi results?

Good luck to everyone this month!

tillydream · 02/06/2011 15:54

Keziah If you'll bear with me i might be able to help you with that question - 'tho I'm sure lots of of other lovely people can too! I wrote everything down when we went thro IVF and btwn cycles. However as my latest displachment activity is moving house, (well tyring to!) they are in storage somewhere......think i know where but need DH to move some stuff!! Remembering back what SBC says is perfect, was just going to compare it mine for you....and add anything else that may have been interesting!

farfallarocks don't go by the lines, go by the digi results! Obviously take into account your cm and other other signs but don't try squinting at lines cos that is what the monitor is for!!

m4z haha ....I've done that too, two straight jackets it is then!!!! Blush

Day 9 for me, 1st stick, low as expected....

Love and luck to all

Tilly xxx

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 02/06/2011 20:15

farfall just go by the digi results - your cbfm will have worked out your cycle - so a peak is a peak!

I haven't had a peak yet, now day 18. I strongy suspect I won't get one and either ov'd day 7 or being anovulatory this month. Phone clinic- basically told me I'm stupid for using the CBFM and to test with their recommended sticks (the clearblue "normal" ones which I did the last two months and gave exactly the same results as the CBFM - surprise?). Am hoping this cycle is short and I can start again sooner!

MiniH keep us updated on the acupuncture - I tried it at the beginning of our TTC journey, but gave up, mostly due to expense, but am considering giving it another go and focus it purely on TTC!

Hope everyone is good

SBC x

farfallarocks · 03/06/2011 10:32

Thank you! Ok, will ignore the lines. I got a high today but with a non existent LH line! i will have to trust it knows what it is doing and DTD tonight.

DH saw my monitor in the bathroom today, I had been doing it on the QT so as not to put too much pressure on the situation but I had to fess up as to what it was. We agreed I would not tell him when the high and peak days were so he does not get stage fright!

POAS is not exactly sexy is it?

WaterKelpie · 03/06/2011 13:59

farfalla, I just go by the monitor as the opks never worked for me and so far the cbfm seems to know what it's doing! It's much less biased than myself - I think I am so desperate to see a darker line sometimes that my eyes/brain trick me for a second... Or I move into the light to see it better... Or think if I squint it will make it clearer...

Also, my DH knows I have the monitor (we talked about it before purchase) but we also decided that I would not tell him the intricate details (e.g. bore him talk to him about hormone surges, tell him when it's on high, peak etc.) for the same reasons. It's not terrible romantic and I think he would feel too much pressure. Also, I think he was worried that we would only SWI when it was the 'right time' and he would be denied the rest of the month (which, of course, hasn't happened).

My monitor is flashing 'm' this morning, but I'm pretty sure I'm not due. I'm only 11dpo, so don't particularly want to waste money on pregnancy test yet (especially as I might get a chemical or the like). Shall I just ignore it? I'm wanting to test next Wednesday as will not be at home on Monday (14dpo) but I might cave and test on Sunday (13dpo). I have to say, that I don't feel pregnant at all though... :(

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 03/06/2011 14:08

Water - don't test until you are late, it'll only upset you! The CBFM suggests the "m" early until you've been using it a few months!

farfallarocks · 03/06/2011 14:11

Thanks Water, keeping stum seems to be the best option and I will IGNORE THE LINES!

I tested loads last month, convinced I was pregnant and must have wasted £30 (yes seriously) on 1st response tests.
Am determined NOT to do that again and will not test this month until 2 days late!

The m started flashing for me early as well, around cd 23 so I would ignore it (easier said than done I know)

WaterKelpie · 03/06/2011 16:17

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I will definitely ignore the flashing 'm', even though it is begging me to go out and purchase a Clearblue pregnancy test (and take more money from me)!

Wednesday it is then!

raspberrytipple · 03/06/2011 18:09

Lol Waterkelpie I was the same the first month. I didn't know what it was to start with but then it clicked and out came the pg test, all BFN obviously :( Its a shame the tests are so expensive, especially when we are all so prone to early testing! Crazy isn't it.

My DH knows I have the monitor and is reasonably interested in it but only from a mechanical/technological point of view. He also thought the egg shape at peak should be replaced with a pic of a couple SWI! I thought that would be quiet a good gimmick! :)

I'm now about 4/5 DPO and feeling remarkably calm. In fact, Im off to B&Q to buy some stuff to put in the garden. Im definately getting old, there was a time as a child that I detested my parents round there but now I look forward to it! Sad eh.

boba82 · 03/06/2011 20:28

water I' with the others DO NOT test early!! Good luck for Wed though. x

farfall I too have spent a fortune, if only I had shares in CBD pregnancy tests!

rasperry that comment about the pic of couple swi made me chuckle - would definitely make the DHs more interested!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, long may the sunshine continue

Hello ladies.....would you mind if I joined you?

I am 41 and on my 6th cycle using my (beloved) cbfm ;)
I've also used it twice before resulting in my son age2 and daughter 14 months so I think I'm a pretty good advert for it's success rate :D
Been using it this time round since dec 29 2010 and managed to get preg 1st month and that was without even getting a peak but unfortunately turned out to be another chemical pregnancy (my 3rd in total) but onwrds and upwards. I'm also taking bvits to lengthen my LP which seems to have increased it by a couple of days last month but still no bfp and time is of the essence for me now I feel.

Looking forward to 'meeting' u all x

WaterKelpie · 03/06/2011 21:55

Hi Mamabelli! Glad to hear of CBFM success! It gives me hope (I'm on my 17th cycle TTC but my first with CBFM).

It's funny, but DH actually asked about the CBFM today (calling it the POAS thing). Because I hadn't said anything at all, he was worried that I hadn't been using it and was begrudging the expense! Hmm As if! He obviously has no idea I'm on here then! I said I had been using it and that it had been working, but left it at that. He also asked me if I had got any smiley face/penis signs (meaning the egg peak)! Raspberry, it sound like our DHs have some interesting ideas!

Keziahhopes · 04/06/2011 21:29

Hi Mamabelli hope CB monitor works for you. Know feeling of time - am 36 and ttc~1 .

SBC thanks, some reassuring words there.

Tilly would be good to compare thanks. Hope all goes well in your busytimes moving etc.

Well cd1 for me today, will redo stats in a bit.... was silly for feeling at all hopeful after prolactin level result. After all it is year 3 of ttc~1, IVF not work so why should anything naturally! Have changed my vitamins around - got Zita West ones now, as felt had to change things as nothing has worked.

weimy · 04/06/2011 22:18

kezia I am 36 and ttc 1 also, sorry about CD1 :(

ElmMum · 04/06/2011 22:23

Hello all, I've been off MN for a bit, trying to get some perspective on the whole TTC thing. This thread has moved on a bit since I was last here!

Will try and catch up with where you're all at tomorrow, but hope there have been some BFPs and not too many BFNs. I'm due on tomorrow or the day after and pretty much know I'm not pg this month. No symptoms at all but I've been very busy with other things this last two weeks, so thankfully not as obsessive as I was last month. Get the results of my day21 tests on Monday. Then I think I'm going to try acupuncture.

Even though I haven't been obsessing this month, I was a friend's DD's party this morning with my DD and the number of people with DCs my DD's age and who already had a second DC was making me a bit sad. I feel like people are queue-jumping and it's my DD who is going to miss out, as the age gap grows each month. I think that's what makes me saddest.

Anyway, sorry for me me post. Hope you're all okay, and hi to any newbies :)

ElmMum · 05/06/2011 10:27

And AF got me this morning. Not at all surprised this time. And I seem to be settling into a regular 29-day cycle. Do feel sad still.

WaterKelpie · 05/06/2011 10:57

I really couldn't hold out any longer, so I tested... and I got a BFP!

I'm so excited, and I absolutely love CBFM, but I know it's early days. It's sad that two previous mc have tinged the excitement with worry, but I just have to take it day by day.

DH confessed that he was worried we would miscarry again. There's nothing to do but wait and see and keep thinking positively.

Sorry to everyone on CD1. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
