Hooray Jazzy! Its just so exciting isn't it?
Good luck with the pouncing.

I am now resisting the urge to go and buy a First Response early test for tomorrow morning.
My boobs have been unbelievably painful the past 2 days (nipples on fire) but have now subsided!

jazzy283 · 18/05/2011 09:42

RRRRRRR Thanks Farfalla i have warned him to rest for the rest of the week but yes i cant help but get excited its the first time since TTC i have had a high reading on any kit i used lol lol lol eeeeekkkkk keep me updated my fingers and toes are crossed for you, resist the urge i know its really hard but try to wait till your due day

farfallarocks · 18/05/2011 09:53

Good luck and enjoy!

I have 2 nights out tonight and tomorrow night so I am hoping that is enough to tempt fate :)

ElmMum · 18/05/2011 09:54

SBC, really sorry you're feeling down. It's not surprising though. Killer combination of deep, deep hope that you'll get a BFP and then the crushing reality of the BFN. Wouldn't wish it on anybody. Big hugs to you and also everything crossed for your IUI. My friend TTC for five years - unexplained infertility - and got pregnant with DD first time with IUI, so don't give up hope. (Although I know hope is scary too!)

I got a high today, CD 11, so seems I'm about to have the first 'perfect' 28 day cycle in living memory, timed just perfectly so DH is away for the two peak days! Brilliant :(

DH gets his sperm sample results later today so it might all be immaterial anyway.

Here's to BFPs for everyone very soon :)

jazzy283 · 18/05/2011 10:01

keep me updated Farfalla

ElmMum - im on your cycle it would seem got my first peak today, my Hubby was working away last month so i missed mine too however this month ill tie him up if i have too lol lol

Good luck with your DH results i have my FX for you

My DH had normal results however he started to take fertilaid for men and his has increased since starting the vits, they are a bit expensive but hey we will all try anything wont we :) :)

I have been on the female ones for 3 months and reduced my 36 day cycle to 28/29 so im happy happy happy with them.

Good Luck

ElmMum · 18/05/2011 10:11

jazzy interesting about the vits. I've been thinking about trying preseed (is that what it's called?) after reading about theories that KY jelly etc reduce mobility of sperm. Wonder whether my 39-year-old body doesn't produce, erm, enough of the good EWCM to get the sperm on their way. Like you say, no harm in trying everything!

jazzy283 · 18/05/2011 10:20

ElmMum - i heard concive plus for boots is just as good as preseed i have some of that for this month lol im like a TTC pharmacy lol lol i never have a lot of the EWCM either :)

chocciechip · 18/05/2011 12:18

jazzy and elm I asked my consultant detailed questions about the EWCM issue, and he said that they used to run all sorts of tests in relation to this at the ERI (a teaching hospital), thinking it was relevant, and found that women who had near zero EWCM still got BFPs and others who had loads of EWCM failed to get BFPs. He said they decided there was nothing conclusive about it, so have stopped carrying out all those tests or focussing on it because it didn;t seem to get them anywhere.

I suggest that if you usually use lube anyway in normal sex, then switch to either preseed or conceive plus because normal lube is known to impede sperm.

However, I also suggest you don't use it thinking 'this is the thing that will give me a BFP' because it seems there is nothing totally conclusive about that. And doing stuff with that in mind creates pressure and stress - maybe not initially - but over several months it builds up. You'll start getting very down thinking 'I'm doing everything I can and I'm still not getting a BFP, there must be something SERIOUSLY wrong with me ... etc etc'. It's not a good space to drift into.

farfallarocks · 18/05/2011 13:45

chocciechip - you are so right, its so eady to hang onto something and think 'this is the magic formula'
Argh!

Right, I am 7 DPO, slight cramping and sore boobs. Also bad back pain.
Either this is VERY early AF and panic about short luteal phase to ensue.
Or (as I have convinced myself) this is implantation.
Or its nothing and I am just hyper vigilant and need to take a CHILL PILL

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 18/05/2011 14:03

Fingers crossed farfall - try and find something to distract you for the next few days so you don't obsess etc and test too early!

Thank you all for the support x

jazzy283 · 18/05/2011 15:11

CC - Thanks for that i have never needed to use anything, but again you hear so many conflicting info all the time thanks for the info :)

Farfall my fingers are so tightly crossed for you xxxx

boba82 · 18/05/2011 15:28

jazzy and elm I agree with choccie. I had & still have a drawerful of Preseed and some other "magic" lube I got on internet. I used them for months with no success, forgot to use them over the few days that we ended up conceiving so I'm a little Hmm tbh.

farfallacks sounds promising but try and not symptom spot/test too early as BFNs are nasty wee things. Keeping all crossed for you though!

Boba - Thanks im only using CBFM i dont go mad to much lol not charting or temps but i have brought it so ill give it a go. :) :) :) i get my hopes up every month but dont look for Magic Formula's but it makes me feel better to say i have tried lol

Loup23 · 18/05/2011 16:06

Good luck far hope it's good news for you, and hope the next few days fly by so you are in the sensible testing window, coming from the girls who tests waaay to early! x

farfallarocks · 18/05/2011 17:49

Thanks everyone. Walked straight past Boots on my way back from a meeting, you would be proud of me.

jazzy283 · 18/05/2011 17:50

yayyyyyyyyyyyy well done its so hard :) :) :)

ElmMum · 18/05/2011 18:47

Good advice re the preseed I think. DH is away til tomorrow evening and I think today would have been the day, judging by CM today but hey, maybe tomorrow evening will also be okay.

And, good news, he just phoned to say he has 'normal ejaculate'! Made us both laugh!

Have a good evening, all :)

boba82 · 18/05/2011 20:06

Glad your DHs results were good elm

Well done farfallarocks as a recovering POASaholic I know how hard that is to do!

jazzy I think like choccie said if you're using lube anyway then use it instead. Saying all that though I tried everything except temping and that was next on my list! I think the CBFM is a really good bit of kit though.

this is my first month using monitor. i was high at day 9, peak at day 12 and back to low at day17 but monitor stil asking for tests and i am at day 25. i have now used 20 tests

farfallarocks · 19/05/2011 12:04

Hmmmm bubbles that sounds strange but I think the first month it is still learning your cycle. Mine stopped asking for tests after the peaks and highs.
Sounds like had a very long high and peak section?

great news Elm!!

I am afraid to admit I caved this morning and POAS.
BFN of course, argh, why did I do it to myself. My justification was that I have a gals night out tonight and wanted to know before drinking my body weight in cocktails. (Hangs head in shame for being so weak)

My boobs are still sooo sore though, so I live in hope. I also have great skin! I have 2 tests left and have promised myself I won't test again until Sunday.
I am also inspired by my friend who was never able to get BFP but was updiffed (confirmed with blood test)

chocciechip · 19/05/2011 13:13

farfall I've had three PGs and only ever got BFPs after AF was due. I still tested early though, and one month I got a BFP - told DH who was overjoyed - and then that evening AF arrived. Was very difficult for us both to cope with, so I stopped early testing straight away after that and never ever recommend it to people. But I do know how hard it is to resist POAS (although it got much easy after my false positive!).

I also know how one feels one HAS to try every magic solution going - and I have! But what was happening to me is I'd use preseed one month and not get a BFP and then start doubting it, so move onto drinking copious amounts of grapefruit instead, and not get a BFP and think "either the grapefruit juice isn't working or its because I didn't use the preseed". In the third month I'd be doing both because I was too scared to stop either, plus add in Robitusson becase I'd read something about that - until eventually my life was driven by doubts and trauma and ingesting revolting things that just may have cumulatively be doing me more harm than good. There was something new every month I think Smile. I stopped, and three months later I got a BFP with nothing but the CBFM.

If you think about it, a minority of priviliged women in the world have access to Google and all the tricks and resources it advises on, and even fewer have access to shops to buy all this stuff, and even fewer can afford to (because it is pricey!), and they all get PG. So...... I know for myself I'm going to pass up on the torture and stick to good diet, vitamins and gently exercise if ever TTC again.

Clockspotter · 19/05/2011 13:16

Yeah, Bubbles, I'm having funny readings after a miscarriage and wondering whether to re-set the monitor next month or just carry on. Can anyone offer any advice?

Good news ElmSmileSmile. I bet hes chuffed!

Ilovekittyelise · 19/05/2011 13:18

i've had 3 pregnancies and conceived the first month with each, using a normal 'fun' lubricant. i really dont think the sperm mobility thing is significant.

boba82 · 19/05/2011 16:08

farfall sorry about the BFN Sad Like choccie I had 2 chemical pregnancies and that stopped me POAS too early.

Enjoy your night out and your Wine!!

farfallarocks · 19/05/2011 16:19

I know you are all right and I am kicking myself for doing it.
No more testing until until after AF is due for me.

I also read on Peeonastick.com that the 5 day early testing assumes a 28 day cycle and O on day 14. So if you ovulate later and have a shorter luteal phase that is not going to work for you at all. In fac,t she says you would need an early detection test to pick up a BFP even after AF was due in that case. So its all about how many DPO you are rather (i.e. ust be 10) than how many days before AF due.
very sneaky on FP side I believe
