Italiangreyhound · 01/06/2011 23:40

TinaO99 you will be scanned and they will talk you through it all and tell you what they see or someone else will tell you what they have seen. Do not be too worried, it is unlikely they would spot anything too terrible! They will talk about all the fertility related info you can give them so I guess in advance it would be useful to compile a few questions that you want to ask and also some things you think they will ask you. EG your cycle, previous pregnancies if any (sorry can't remember all your details now), health related things etc. Obviously take a look at their website and see if that inspires you with any questions/ideas. ALL the best and do come back and tell us what you want to.

AngelGeorgie hope all is well, no news yet.

Mitzimaybe no one has asked but if you could see me tonight after chilli and beans you would be handing me a cup of raspberry leaf tea!

10000fireflies I used to teach English so maybes my estudients have, how you say, influence me a leetle!

nicole333 sadly not getting excited. wracked with confusion about if this is the right thing or not. I am just so tired of it all now. I do want a baby but I am just tired by it all now. Can't wait to be on the 2WW and at least have this chapter drawing to a close. I do, of course, hope it is a baby at the end but even if not, I will at least be able to stop and turn my attention elsewhere! Sorry if that sounds negative but I just feel increasingly worn out by it all. My healthy eating thing is taking more of my thoughts now! But thanks for asking, and all you ladies have been a big help.

hippychick66 · 02/06/2011 11:02

I meant to say to lol that of course you are welcome to hang about on this thread, we all want to hear how you're getting on and what your ex is up to - plus you are very funny Grin

italian you sound very tired and worn out. It really has been such a bloody long journey for you. I totally understand your need to end the struggle and I've only been at it for 2 years. You definitely deserve a prize at the end of it BUT if that prize is not forthcoming then I wish you peace and the ability to enjoy what you have and move on. Keep up the healthy eating - stay away from the beans !!!

lou Sorry can't help calling you that Grin Old habits etc. anyway, fab news on GBOS. Half way there already, lovie. Smile

10000fireflies · 02/06/2011 12:13

Hippy - is that you in the black sequin number? Grin

BeattieBow · 02/06/2011 14:00

Hello all. Have been awol for a while being too busy in RL Shock

Am at work so can't namecheck everyone, but fireflies I'm sorry it didn't work out this time.

diege happy birthday!

tina I went to a clinic. My first appointment was just with the consultant who ordered some tests. I had all the usual blood tests (progesterone, eggs, etc). then also they recommended a monitored cycle. this did involve a dildocam several times, but I found it really interesting!

hippy I have done clomid this month too - but didn't have any side effects at all. Am wondering if that means it didn't work Confused. Am at cd10 too.

jolls and curly how are you both?

lol hello!

nicole any news?

oops have to go boss lurking.

hippychick66 · 02/06/2011 14:51

yes firefly I am the elegant tall lady in the black Hmm Any further news from you? Is it definitely all over or will you still test tomorrow?

Bb we are cycle buddies and clomid buddies.Grin I am trying to drink lots of grapefruit juice to make CM and hold my pee for the OPK - those two do not make a good combination!!!

AngelGeorgie · 02/06/2011 15:17

hippy no robs calling me Lou I ll pretty much answer to most things!!!! X

BeattieBow · 02/06/2011 16:42

oh God I forgot about the grapefruit juice - I'm drinking that too and finding things are much more moist (sorry tmi) down there! And that's before I get to the ecwm stage (although have been high on the monitor since cd7 here). Blimey!

Pre-seed is at post-office for collection too.

hippychick66 · 02/06/2011 17:03

I know pre-seed is good stuff but it wont work from the PO you know Wink

I have EWCM today but not a positive on the OPK yet. I will still keep going with the SMEP anyway.

BeattieBow · 02/06/2011 17:15

I know, I did try to send dh to the post office today, but he declined. I don't want to push the point with him! (remember am selling it as an interesting fun addition to our sex life, not a conception aid!).

Will dtd as well tonight - so we can truly be in sync! (actually will try not to think about that....). The things we write on an internet forum!

In other news, have applied for schools for the dcs. Just waiting to see what we get offered now. I'm trying not to phone the admissions people.

Italiangreyhound · 03/06/2011 00:11

Lol yes, please do stay around.

Hippychick yesterday, I was a bit worn down by it all. Last night I could not sleep and lay awake for ages. I ended up praying and just asked God to give me his peace about the whole process. At work today we had a meeting with lots of feedback etc, which was lovely. We started with worship (I work for a Christian charity so that is why) and one of the prayers was all about the seed of hope and there was lots of talk about things beginning and being embryonic! I can only say that I am feeling a sense of peace about it all. Thanks for commenting and giving me your kind thoughts.

Hippychick Good luck with the Clomed.

Fireflies I'm on that video too! That's me in the long brown dress, just before Geri! Only joking. I kind of imagine Hippy more in the floaty blue turquoise dress early on!

BB welcome back, how?s it all going?
AngelGeorgie hope all is well.

Hugs to all.

motherblonde · 03/06/2011 09:24

Italiangreyhound · 03/06/2011 13:07

Hi motherblondeyou are very welcome. Wink

Italiangreyhound · 03/06/2011 13:30

Hi all

I feel so much better.

I do hope everyone else is doing well.

I know it is a terribly silly way of listening to God but I sometimes just read a random bit of the Bible for inspiration. I read my kids 'Baby Bible' as I was upstairs and could not find my own one (which was downstairs). I know it is not a great way to do it, to just turn to a bit and read (don?t try this at home kids!) but I did. This is what I got on pages 10 and 11 for the story of creation accompanied by stunning pictures of a tiger and bear, a fox and giraffe etc (remember it is a baby Bible so very few words!).

"Then God made everything in it. Wow! God was pleased."

here

OK I know that sounds so cruddy but I just needed to feel a sense of peace about trying again. I realised that all of creation is God's anyway, and God was pleased with creation. My tiny part in this is just trying to bring a new life. It did help the other day when a lady was talking on a Radio 4 programme about doing an altruistic kidney donation. I kind of realised that so many of us are trying to bring life, share life, it was very positive.

AngelGeorgie · 03/06/2011 13:38

Hi Italian I m getting better thanks. My cold s improving just feel shattered so just relaxing.you sound at peace. Personally I m an non believer and certainly would be after what we ve experienced but whatever works foe you. Xx

Hi motherblonde welcome x
Hi everyone else hope you re all enjoyingthe sunshine xx

Curlylox · 03/06/2011 16:59

Hello ladies (sorry for not namechecking everyone) and welcome motherblonde. BB was wondering where you were, glad to hear things are moving along with the move and for you too Hippy. Thanks to BB AngelGeorgie aka lou Panashe Gum for asking about me and for the lovable squeezes from Italian and 10000ff, all appreciated. Been feeling low and not very well (migraine for 3 days, longest is usually 2 days) have put this down to the stress and worry of ttc and life in general. Havent posted much as been feeling sorry for myself and didn't want to bother you all with it. Have decided what the hell with it, meaning I'm going to have caffeine, drink alcohol, not bother with the flaming temp taking every freaking morning, not poas, not knicker check etc etc. Yes I do still want a baby but I need to step back and to chill. Sorry for the me me me post AGAIN! Love and hugs to all x x x

OP posts:
TTTonTour · 03/06/2011 17:56

Just checking by to see everyone is no more miserable than usual Wink

That sounds like a very good idea curly Make sure it is a good bottle of wine - don't forget you deserve cake to go with your caffeine too. ttc is a bit of miserable business - you try and do all these things that you hope will make a difference around the edges, but if they are making you sick they are more likely to be doing more harm than good to your ttc chances! So I would chill and spoil yourself.

Italian glad you are feel more resolved - after 6 years, and all the waiting, no wonder you are feeling edgy. Sending you much love xx

LOL I was gonna say, I think you should stay too... how else will we know how miserable your ex is Grin However, given I'm now 35 weeks, I don't reckon I have much right to tell you you're welcome on a conception thread Blush

Hope you are not feeling too low fireflies Thinking of you xx

Curlylox · 03/06/2011 19:43

Thanks TTT did you say cake, love cake but actually thats another thing I need to cut back on along with all the other things I listed before Smile

Italiangreyhound · 03/06/2011 22:03

AngelGeorgie · 03/06/2011 22:23

Hi TTT 35 weeks OMG excellant news xxxx
Hi everyone else , on a study day tomorrow heh ....!Mind you I do get a day back in lieu!!!
Love to all xxxx

hopefulgum · 03/06/2011 23:59

Morning Ladies, just dropping in to keep my place.

Curly and BB, good to hear from you. It's been a while. Curly how long have you been ttc? It really does take its toll doesn't it?And it is so hard to relax when you feel you should drink less alcohol, caffeine, take supplements, have sex at the right time etc, etc. I hope it happens for you soon.

Italian, I can certainly understand your feelings. You have waited so long. And you have always been here to share wise words when one of us needed them. I wish I had some wise words for you, but I think you've got it covered. I think things will feel much better once the treatment starts. I hope it is soon.

TTT - so pleased you have reached this milestone, and Lou - nearly half way! I guess Deige is not far behind? My first milestone will be the ultrasound on the 15th (that's the soonest they could get me in). I'll be 7+5. Then I'll have a list of milestones similar to yours - for me it is 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks, 16, 20, 24, 28, etc...Then I'll breathe a huge sigh of relief around 35 - 36 weeks. So maybe I'll relax and enjoy the last 4 weeks? Is that possible?

At least for now I feel quite sick and very tired, so I'm glad with that.

10000fireflies, how are you?

Yoo - hoo, Jolls, where are you? You ok?

It's a long weekend here in Western Australia, which is usually a great thing, but I agreed to take on some exam marking, so will spend the weekend trying to get that finished. Ugh!

hopefulgum · 04/06/2011 00:01

Also meant to say welcome to Motherblonde - do you have other children?

10000fireflies · 04/06/2011 00:03

Woohoo! Anyone schtill in here and awake?! Jusht popped in for a nightcap (hic) on the way to bed. CannIave a boccle of prosecco purlease? hic.

Been having an exshiting time! Blew cobwebs away with trip to the sophisticated metropolish that is Sarfhamptom. Hic. For fun and nostalgia went on ferry: Hythe Ferry (and anyone else still up, check out those webpics of Beaulieu river - wait a bit if it's just fuzz - you get to see river lights if you wait!!!). Right, who wansh some Prosecco? Anyway, had shome change left over from failed IVF cycle so splashed out £9 on a lovely Primarni lime-green-and-pink-floral-placcy bag and matching make-up purse. Believe me, I thought it couldn't get more exiting than that, when, Peter Andre turned up!!! Seriously!! The Waterside has been over-run with hundreds of little girlies running around trying to get his autograph, and the whole village was buzzing!

By the way, you're my besh mates and I love you! Hic. No seriously, though, thanks for all your support. Sleep tight and I'll be back soon with a bit less me me me and a bit more you you you.

xxx

Italiangreyhound · 04/06/2011 12:19

Special post for curly!

Hi, did I squeeze you? Well exsqueese me! Here's another hug! I am so sorry this has been a tough time for you. Hope you get the migraines under control. My friend has VERY bad ones (but even she has not said several days so yours must be terrible!). My friend has her's linked to periods and PMT and is now (after quite a while) getting the doc to look into it all. She had tried to get help before but docs not helpful. Now after us friends nagging - I mean encouraging her. I think she is trying again to get some answers. I am a very pushy patient and always ask the doc if they can't help, OK what do we try next! Maybe that is why I have been on this TTC 'merry-go- round' or rather 'unmerry-go-round' for so long! But it does help with NHS to be pushy! curly PLEASE do bother us, we are here to be bothered. We are all in together! I think you should have some fun, eat nice stuff etc and enjoy life.

I am sure you have seen this type of thing but it might help, I have not read it all in details but scan read and some things jumped out at me!

www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/neurology/201621.html

"Attacks may be triggered by tension, fatigue, certain medications (e.g. the combined contraceptive pill), alcohol and certain foods. The food you ate may have been a trigger.MSG or can trigger migraine in susceptible people."

www.bupa.co.uk/individuals/health-information/directory/m/migraine

"...certain food or drink ? commonly chocolate, cheese, alcohol, caffeine"

Is it worth keeping a track of your food just to work out what to avoid? I had heard that migraines can be food related so you might want to switch some foods/drinks for others some of the time. I don?t mean avoiding it all, you might find dark chocolate is better than milk or white wine is better than red, for you. Just a total guess! There seems to be evidence both ways with wine but I did find this also about chocolate!

www.migrainehelper.com/migraineprevention.shtml
"Migraines caused by chocolate
Don't eat so much chocolate. If you have to have chocolate then try eating dark chocolate instead of plain dairy. I've found that his does help a little bit."

Also, pro and con re red or white wine (so maybe go for Rose'!).
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_wine_headache
askville.amazon.com/white-wine-give-headache-red/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=2567239

Anyway, hope it gets better.

nicole333 · 04/06/2011 12:34

How is everyone today? I was going to type 'this morning' and then realised the time. I'm just not getting my arse in gear lately and it feels like it should still be morning!

Welcome MB
TTT 35 weeks, congratulations! Hope it all goes well for you (and quick!)
FF Peter Andre??! I admit to having an everso slight grown up crush on him. But so slight, it's almost embarrassing to admit it to myself!
Italian Glad you are beginning to feel better.

And so the saga continues. I'm on CD36!!! and not a sausage, nada. I'm starting to get v.peed off with this. The only thing different during this never ending cycle is that I didn't seem to ovulate and I bled and spotted twice for a few days during it.

Could this make it this long?
