Hippy normally the scan is to check that you have responded to the Clomid and not over responded. I am really surprised the doctor/clinic can?t just give you one bloomin' scan. Can you get it and pay for it?

Lol donor eggs have a much higher chance of working than 20% but it is really up to you what you would like to do. I think talking to someone would be good. It sounds like you are not sure what to do next, have you talked to DP about all this?

BB Hope it will all work out for you and all come together.

Hippy what is the programme about the woman with quads called? I love stuff like that!

Quads that sounds like hard work. Actually my current gripe is people with three kids who can?t stop going on about how hard it is having three kids or how they can?t make plans because they have three kids! I know some of you have got lots more than three but I bet you don't rub the noses of your fertility-cally challenged people in the fact you have many! Drives me mad! I guess I am thinking of those who chose to have three, not people who accidently ended up with three! I guess I just want to shout at them, do you know how lucky you are! Maybe they do realise!

I?m feeling good. I am trying out a Christian eating disorder group to see if this helps with my food issues.

I feel very positive about our treatment and just want to get started.

Diege · 04/05/2011 10:21

Morning Smile Wow Hippy good for you going to the dr's and sticking to your guns. I have a good feeling about this new direction, but do be careful and make sure you don't go all funny on it Wink. Does this mean your boobs will be not your own as they have never been before? What do you think about asking about the scan thing
Italian/lol I had also heard that chances of conception with donar eggs are a LOT higher than 20%. Any news on waiting time for you yet Italian? Oh and I totally agree about your gripes about 3 children moan. Sounds very odd to me! Or maybe it's just because people wouldn't dare say it to me with my 4 Grin. I do moan (to myself) at times, but purposely try not to do so in front of people!
Well I think that sickness has pretty much gone. I have mild sinusitus instead though, and will have to keep an eye as was hospitalised with in my last pregnancy (at exactly same gestation too - 13 weeks!!!). Sure this is on its way out though!

hippychick66 · 04/05/2011 10:33

I think the scan is indeed to check that they have not over stimulated your overies. Maybe that's why they only scan the first month BB because if you're ok the first time they assume you are ok for the other 2 months. She said that as long as I didn't have any cysts (which i didn't at my last scan) - it would be ok. I'm guessing I'll be on a low dose as it's just a booster. Ahh well, i'm just gonna think of this as a little 3 months boost and then stop.

I have been listening to Paul Mckenna and i think he's working. I have been visualising myself fitter and trimmer on the IOW. I was able to imagine myself as I approach 50 Shock and I was a slimmer version of me and happy and tanned and most importantly i had not had another baby - i liked the image that I was able to create and I didn't feel awful that there was no baby in it. Obviously a baby would be fab but i was pleased that I was able to conjure up a decent alternative - IYSWIM.

The programme is called - meet the multiples. italian. There is a woman who had twins followed by triplets and they are all in the same school year ShockShock. even more of a Shock - she didn't know she was pregnant with the triplets until they arrived (she is quite large) and as she didn't know she was preg she had no clue there were three of them. The third baby was found right up under her ribs in a ball!

hippychick66 · 04/05/2011 10:38

crossed posts diege. Hope you are ok - don't get yourself hospitalised please. Can't believe you are 13 weeks - wow. I cannot imagine ever being able to say that again.

I heard doner eggs had a 40% success rate but note sure where i heard it - probably our own dear italian.

As you say, diege I don't think I will be able to do boob watch when on clomid as they will probably send me all kinds of cuckoo messages. I will have to be prepared to ignore all symptoms.

Hope lou is doing well and of course tank.

Thinking of shandy - one day at a time lovie.

big squeeze for jolls.

Hello to everyone else.

My DS1 got sent home from school with a bad tummy today - I had planned to get my hair cut - they always bugger up my plans these kids Wink

panashe · 04/05/2011 11:14

Hello everyone, can I come back and join you please ? It has been really nice catching up on the thread.

Diege could you remind me please how old you are ?

louisesh · 04/05/2011 11:39

Hi all sorry i ve been MIA work hetic.
Hippy Yeh thats fab news no wonder you re excited.Go Clomid, GO!!!!!
Hi Italian fab news on you also FX its your turn soon.
Hi panashe good to see you back....Hope you re treating yourself kindly grief is so wearing X
Hi Diege whoop whoop we re nearly 14 weeks glad your nasuea easing Hope your sinusititis eases also.
Hi Jolls u ok?
BB ((()))
Gum sounds like you had a lovely weekend. You sound very chilled.
Hi everyone else hope alls well?
I m fine had a lovely relaxing weekend in Stratford upon Avon weather was gorgeous, nice BH chilling.Yesterday LONG day at work didn t finish to 8 pm then seen the MW this am.Bp,urinalysis etc checked all fine. She offered to doppler GBOS but couldn t hear anything which doesn t worry me as i know its too early.I 'd used my doppler this am and for the briefest of sceonds heard GBOS's hb and my doppler displays the fetal heart rate so i can see when i can t hear.
Better go i m at work but luckliy is only half day!!!!!!!!!!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

hippychick66 · 04/05/2011 12:01

hi panashe - good to see you back. How are you coping?

lou fab news about the heartbeat. big hugs to GBOS ((()))

I don't actually expect the clomid to work, i kind of feel like it's something I have to do and get past - IYSWIM. BUT I'm happy to be proven wrong Grin.

Diege · 04/05/2011 12:08

FWIW Hippy, even if it doesn't work I think the clomid is something you have to do, even if it's a symbolic thing meaning you've done absolutely everything. While I wouldn't have gonr down the assisted conception route, I probably would have tried clomid myself if it had come to it just to satisfy myself, looking back in years to come that I'd given it my all.
Panache how are you feeling my love? IN answer to your question, I will be 41 at the end of this month.
Louise whoop-ee!!! we're out of the dreaded first trimester - was just thinking that this morning. 14 weeks on Fri! Agree, very early to hear heartbeat - well done on picking up anything at all on doppler! My mw refuses to 'listen in' before 18 weeks.
A bit Hmm as my tankini is a 'top' only...since when did a tankini require 'bottoms' to be bought??? Or am I totally out of sync with current fashions???

panashe · 04/05/2011 12:37

I'm ok, losing someone close does put things in perspective, especially on the ttc front, and I started to think I should be happy and be thankful for what I have. However I know my Dad wouldn't want me to change my hopes and dreams, and the thought of being able to tell my lovely dp that I'm pregnant makes me feel giddy with excitement. cd16 for me..

Diege I thought the whole point of a tankini was that it was a two piece ?!?

hippychick66 · 04/05/2011 16:01

You are so lucky that you can wear a feckin' tankini. I would look hideous. [yuck face] I think the only way I could ever get away with one of those again would be if I was really preggers and it was completely obvious to the world that the bump was baby and not just chubba wubba Grin diege you are a little devil Wink

panache I know what you mean. losing a loved one suddenly is a horrid horrid scary thing and it does make you look at the world a bit differently - i hope you get to give your lovely fiance that news soon. Any plans for the wedding or did that all get put on hold with your sad hews???

randomimposter · 04/05/2011 16:33

Pah.

I could wear a tankini. Not in public of course.

Hi all. Quick wave. Should be supper prepping.

Diege · 04/05/2011 19:01

Well, the tankini got the last laugh...no bleedin pants in stock after all so I'm stuck with the top...Have complained as I'd ripped the labels off in my excitement, so fingers crossed I'll get my refund Hmm

hippychick66 · 04/05/2011 20:33

LOL at jolls - yes I could wear one too (as long as I was alone in a dark room!)

diege where are you going to wear this outfit???

Diege · 04/05/2011 20:55

No-where now I have no knickers Sad. I have have to succomb to the Isabella Oliver one - plan is to wear in the gym pool Blush

Isaboo · 04/05/2011 22:12

What the devil is a tankini ? isn't that something that Borat went to the beach in ? ....in which case fabulous i would just need a full body pair of flesh coloured magic knickers to go underneath it

Nice to have you back panache CD 19 here so we are almost in step good luck ...I already have nausea headaches sore BiscuitBiscuit and a bad mood even though i know it is pretty much clinically impossible for me to be pregnant as DH away at relevant time ...pathetic really.... although the bad mood could just be because I am a nasty DM and DW....

Italiangreyhound · 04/05/2011 22:32

Hippy so glad that you can imagine yourself slim, all the best, really hope you will get all you are looking for. Glad Paul McKenna is working for you. I must watch Meet the Multiples!

Diege have heard it is 40-50% chance with donor eggs but not sure, depends on the clinic.

*Panshe welcome back. So glad to see you. How are you feeling? It is always hard to face a bereavement. On a lighter note did you see the Royal Wedding and did you get any good ideas? Number 1 idea - don?t be upstaged by younger sister!

Hi Lou glad all is well. What does ?also FX its your turn soon.? mean?

Isaboo a tankini is a tank top bikini, not a Borat style costume! No one wants to see any of us in that I think! Well, maybe they do.....

Hugs to all.

panashe · 04/05/2011 23:42

Hi Italian, I like reading your messages you always seem to have an inner calm.

My sister older Wink , loved her dress and the simpleness of bouquet etc Liked the drive off in the Aston Martin, anyone got one I can borrow ??

panashe · 04/05/2011 23:46

Isaboo I've felt a bit crappy all day, period like pains. Maybe late ovulation. But good to have someone to share 2ww with x

Italiangreyhound · 05/05/2011 00:06

Panashe thank you for your kind words. I think God keeps me calm!

I am watching the multiples film, amazing!

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b010tbn8

here

Italiangreyhound · 05/05/2011 00:42

I am still watching the multiples film, truly amazing and really touching!

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b010tbn8

here

If interested you have four days left to watch it on this link!

It is fascinating but I am not jealous of them! Two might be fun but three, or four or more! Not sure what I would do!

hopefulgum · 05/05/2011 01:50

Italian, I agree, I can't imagine having multiples.I think I might go completely potty.

Deige and Lou, I am so happy for you - 2nd trimester. I know it's probably been slow for you - but it's really whizzed by for me.

Before you know it you'll be telling us the sex of the bub, and then it'll be born. How exciting. Smile

Fancy the tankini not having bottoms?Confused How silly. I have bought a tankini from Boden, but it tells you it's top only. Then bought bottoms separately - I always mix and match - I don't think it matters too much. I don't have a tankini body, but I wear lycra board shorts - super comfortable and covers up the nasty cellulite thighs.

When I'm pregnant I just don't care and have worn a bikini (it's the only time I would) - only because the bump is obviously a babe. I love the feeling of the sun on my belly. I also hate the pasty whiteness of it and always imagine the midwife being horrified when I'm in my birthday suit in labour. I'm sure the middy could care less, but I'm silly like that....

Hippy - glad to hear you are going to try the clomid. I've thought about it, but I'm prone to cysts, so worry that it might not do me any good. I'm thinking if I don't catch a sneaky sperm this month I might go and talk to the gp about testing. I dunno, I talked about it before and never followed up. I'll see how things go...

I'm feeling good and happy which is nice. Glad my bleak mood has lifted. the weather has been lovely and I'm spending lots of time in the garden. I'm taking my LO to the garden centre today to pick up more plants. I love autumn, it's still warm but we are also getting rain - so it's a lovely time in the garden.

Hi Panashe, nice to see you back. I hope you can surprise DP with a bfp soon.

And hello to everyone else. May May be productive and sunny and fertile....Grin

hippychick66 · 05/05/2011 09:29

italian FX it's your turn means - fingers crossed it's your turn. Smile

gum you sound very chilled and relaxed - glad you enjoyed the break. I am a bit nervous about the clomid especially as it's coming from the doctor and not a specialist but I feel like 3 months of it will be a nice end to my TTC journey. I guess if I feel ill I can just do it the first month.

WARNING :- This will make you hate my hubbie!!!

We only have one car and as he works in town I drop him off at work so that I have the car for the day. Every feckin' day he moans that I'm either in too higher gear and the engine is struggling or too lower gear and the car is over revving. BUT he never drives the FUCKING car himself!!! Angry. Sorry to be so sweary but I dropped him off this morning and he kept saying, "Can't you hear that, can't you hear the engine?" I told him to shut up and why doesn't he drive the bleeding thing then and he said, "I need to keep a check on how you drive it - you're gonna knacker the engine!" I told him that i have been driving fine for about 25 years and if he doesn't like the way i chauffer then he needs to take the wheel and he said, "You need to take ownership of this!" I said that is ironic coming from someone who never drives! The only time he really drives is when we go to IOW and leave the house at stupid o'clock and I am usually too sleepy to notice how well or not he is driving. He is just a lazy bastard who likes to be driven around.

Sorry, rant over. The funny thing is we were up at 6am for a quick SWI before the boys woke up and it was all lovey dovey then Wink

Might have some news for you all on the sale of the house - will report back later.

Sorry again for moaning and swearing BlushGrin

panashe · 05/05/2011 09:50

hippy that's funny, sorry !

What would have got me is him saying "you need to take ownership of this ", think I'd have crashed the car at that point Grin.

When I'm driving what bugs me about my dp is he changes the music when I'm listening to something & it really bugs the crap out of me ! And the "why don't you go that way?" or the "are you parking it here???" Yes I effing am !!!

hopefulgum · 05/05/2011 09:54

Oh Hippy - you gave me a good giggle. I feel your pain.I'd be insisting that he drives. My DH is a bit like that and it gives me the s*&^s. I try to get him to do all the driving cos I can't stand his criticism.(We just bought a new car and it is automatic - our other car has a gear shift. So he says, I don't know if you can drive the new car - you aren't used to the automatic! Any excuse!)

What I hate equally is that if my DH sits down to watch telly he has to have the remote. For some reason he thinks I can't even drive the bloody remote. FFS...

So much for a sunny day - it's been pouring and for the first time this year we have lit the fire. My DS1 has moved back home from the big city, feeling a little worse for wear - everything went pear-shaped up there, so it's nice to have him here and he lit the fire for me. I only hope he gets a job ASAP because I don't want to be handing out pocket money to a 20 year old!

I've got obvious O pain today. Don't quite know how I'm going to fake the spontaneous SWI. My Dh has just gone back to work after a 2 week break and will probably be tired. I might just have to give him a nice back rub...Blush I guess if it doesn't happen I'll just let it be.

Could you have sold the house already Hippy? That's so fast.Very exciting.

panashe · 05/05/2011 10:04

Hi hopeful Must be nice having real fire, the house I live in now is first one that doesn't have one and I really miss it, especially over the cold winter we had.

My eldest is 19 and lasted one term at Uni, luckily he got a job & is also following other dream to be tennis coach and has just booked himself onto level 2 and paid for half of it. But it's worrying about what the future holds, and because he quit uni its made my other dc think about whether they want to go or not..hard times for them..

Back rub is a good idea Wink
