Grin Hi Lou and a happy easter to all [busmile]. Sick here too, but to be honest probably chocolate-induced.
Lia what a gorgeous baby! And that head of hair! How are you feeling now?
Hope everyone is having a great BH weekend x

Coconutfeet · 24/04/2011 21:44

Hello. Can I join you? I've been hanging out among the miscarriage threads recently following a mmc in Jan which dragged on as I had retained products after the ERPC so I only got a BFN a couple of weeks ago. Anway, I wasn't going to come over to this side for a while to give myself a bit of time off but a a suprise early peak on my Clearblue Fertility monitor this morning (day 11 - I normally ovulate around day 16) and a rather foolish lack of contraception last night means I might be in the club. I'm 43, get pregnant very easily (been pregnant 3 times since last September) but can't hold onto a pregnancy unfortunately.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone's stories over the next few days.

Coconutfeet · 24/04/2011 21:45

Oh, and I've got one ds aged two and a half.

Isaboo · 24/04/2011 23:35

Hello Coconut you are in the right place everyone is lovely here sorry you have had such a hard time of it, to go through that many mc in such a short time is terrible big hug to you.

Deige and Lou happy Easter and good to have you both present and correct if a bit green ... which is more than can be said for the rest of the Easter bank holiday slackers !

CD 9 and Pleased to report comedy basque did the job splendidly would share but maybe that's not so tempting all thing considered Grin

hopefulgum · 25/04/2011 01:41

Hi ladies. Just marking my place, cos it got lost....

Have had a happy easter, didn't eat any chocolate at all. Amazed even myself. I have never had a chocolate free easter, but I must say it feels good and I've not missed it.

We've been busy working in the backyard and have had loads of visitors.

My eldest is turning 20 today. Can hardly believe it.I don't feel old enough to have a son that age, but I am obviously!

Welcome Coconutfeet.

Isaboo, glad to hear the Basque did the trick....[bugrin]

BeattieBow · 25/04/2011 05:28

Welcome coconut nice to see you x

Italiangreyhound · 25/04/2011 18:46

Welcome Coconutfeet

Welcome to misty.

Wise words Tank hope they bring you some comfort and support Lou. It is a difficult time; it was be tough with people thinking you will be enjoying it all. I guess it depends what type of pregnancies people have had. My own pregnancy was difficult so I tend not to think of pregnancy as an easy time. So it must be very difficult for you. But as Tank says, enjoy the bits you can.

Diege hope all is well and your ds is healthy again. What was the YouTube clip you liked? I?m posting so much at the moment I can?t remember, must be the season! Was it the Ted one with the fire fighter? Did you resolve the scan issue helpfully for you?

Hippy so sorry that it did not work out this time. Re the park visit and spider, did Mr Hippy appreciate your quip! Where is Grassington and who got the free house?

Italiangreyhound · 25/04/2011 18:49

Hairy hi, how is it going?

Gum how are you?

Lol I really hope things with your son will work out better. I have no experience of this so ignore me if not helpful but would work experience; volunteering at a place HE likes help? I mean if he is into football/sports could he volunteer at the local football club/sports centre, doing manual stuff and also maybe other stuff? Anything that can go on a CV and give him more chances to get a job but also give him a zest for life? I know as a young person I did a lot of voluntary work and it really helped me find out what I wanted to do with life/work.

Lol my friend?s son can?t live with her and her partner and she is so torn between the two of them. Tough times but hope it will work out and you will find when you get those glimmers of that little boy that you love that you will be able to work on that, either by reminding him of how great he is (maybe going out for an ice cream with mum like he did as a kid, or a beer with mum as a grown up!) or simply by hugging him (he lets you) and telling him what he means to you. So hard but if you can catch him doing something good so great to expand on it, but then again, what do I know - my daughter is 6 (but we have had some very teenage behaviour of late!). HUGS.

Italiangreyhound · 25/04/2011 18:52

BB thanks for the wise words about Paul McKenna. Just because I am not keen to do it does not mean I would totally rule it out, a friend is doing it so will see how it works out for her. I am not anti or pro Paul, just trying to find my own way through this eating minefield! My eating is much more normal now, I am stopping when full and taking less but the weight loss is still almost non-existent so I guess I need more exercise! Been for a long walk with the dog (friend?s dog) today ? totally stiff now! Good luck with your move and hope it all works out. Your au pair is a model!!!! Wow. I am jealous you went to Vietnam, not been there for about 14 years! Not been out of Europe for 14 years!

Yes, BB Asian diet is very healthy. I lived there for a few years. I know Japan has lower rates of breast cancer than UK, I mean significantly lower. They eat mushrooms, drink green tea and avoid lots of red meat and dairy, preferring fish etc, so more healthy, and I also read their dishes are naturally smaller!

Oh ladies, if any of you are prayer-ers, my friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer, please do say a prayer for her, she has two kids and is lovely.

Italiangreyhound · 25/04/2011 18:53

Curley sorry no thoughts from me as this cycle length stuff is all mystery to me, but good luck and BIG HUGS!

Lol yes, have got lots of times when I said I might be pregnant and kind of excited at the prospect. Like my first aid class where I could not lie on the floor as I might be pregnant!

Mitzimaybe hope you will work things out with your partner about what you both want. It is give and take, yes, but at the end of the day you have to do what is right for you too.

Hopefulgum that is very scary about a woman loses a baby after an amnio; I knew there was a risk.

Lia your baby is lovely. You are so very fortunate. Hope the baby blues go soon and you can enjoy your lovely little one.
Oooh can?t believe they have bothered to re-make ?Arthur? the film; it all seems to be re-makes now!

Italiangreyhound · 25/04/2011 18:53

Spring Harvest was so fab, genuinely wonderful time, the sun shone every day we went swimming, to the beach and had our groups, DD had a kids group called Whizz kids and we went to the grown up groups in the mornings. The afternoon it was all kinds of stuff, swimming, beach, go carts, fun fair, fab. In the evening we had all age worship provided by a team headed by Steve Legg. He did tricks and there was a lion dancing in a costume - line dancing - get it!
The lion is on this clip! [] and the guys dress up as super heroes and get spotted by the kids around the Butlins site by day and then see themselves on the screen at night. It?s all fun. More to see here!

No I don?t work for him I just think he is great!

It was really good. Eating at Butlins was hard as the food is kind of unlimited at meal times and is tasty (no, I don't work for Butlins either!). I just ate really slowly! I tried to leave some food each meal. I guess I am needing to remember what a normal sized meal is like!

Next year the dream is that either we will be at Spring Harvest with a two month old baby, or I?ll be pregers or we will be 6 months into adoption process!

Love to all.

lolfactor · 25/04/2011 20:59

Hi all - just back from Taunton (hockey tour with a team of families aged 4-70). Thought of you Italian as we walked to Dunster beach. Wasn't Spring Harvest in Minehead this year? Thanks for your kind words. I think the volunteering is a great idea. I sent him to Gambia where he taught football to little ones and he loved it. Can't afford to do that again, but something closer to home would be good so I'll get on to that. I hug him but he doesn't hug back - but he doesn't push me away, either, so I'm guessing he's liking it and I'm never going to stop. And he was still pleased he got an Easter egg...

Hippy and Curly big big two fingers at the witch arriving.

My cycle seems to be so short (26 days last time) and I'm permanently thinking of prog/oest deficits. Cellulite bad (lumpy thighs) cellulite good (must be swimming with oestrogen.) Thin thighs good (loads of progesterone?) thin bad (oestrogen deficit). Even I can see I'm going MAD. Can't tell anyone - except you kind ladies - just how barking I'm becoming.

Hello to Coconut (don't let me put you off. I'm not normally this grumpy). Hoping Misty and Mitzi also get some good news soon. It's great to see Lia's little one - proof that it can be done.

I'm off to see Mr Clomid on Tuesday. I'm expecting him to charge me a small fortune before sending me on my way. It's my last fling before egg doning becomes the only way forward. To be honest, I'd quite like to think about adopting. The only thing that puts me off are those programmes where the children at the children's home 'vet' the potential parents and find all of them lacking. It would be the final straw to be rejected by someone else's kids as well.

Back to work tomorrow. Boooooo.

But it's been lovely in the sun, hasn't it? Big hugs to all who need it - especially Gum. x

Italiangreyhound · 25/04/2011 23:52

Lol Yes, Spring Harvest is at Minehead and also Skegness. Have been to both sites but prefer Minehead. There is a beach right by the entrance to Butlins, and also a crazy gold place and all around are hills and greenery, it is beautiful. DH and I have discussed retiring there!

lou how are you feeling, how is Ant? Feel as if I know him!

Tank thinking of you, honey.

Lol Football in the Gambia. How fab. I bet there are lots of programmes like that around the country (depends where you are of course), but his experience in the Gambia would be helpful to that too. I think the reason this rings such a bell with me is because my friend (who I work with) is going through trouble with her son, who is about the same age, and another friend of a friend (in the past) has a son who is at home just vegetating in the house! It just breaks my heart to think of all that potential going to waste, and I kind of feel the longer it goes on the harder it gets to break out! I know after I had my DD I stayed at home and had an almost agoraphobic time! Luckily I had signed up for an NCT post natal course before DD was born and so when she was a few months old I kind of had to go, (because I had paid!) and it got me out of the house and helped me back into society! Now, I know being a teenager is totally different to being a new mum but I kind of feel if I had not had a reason to leave the house I would not have! One thing that was funny was I kind of lost all sense of proportion and wore a coat and scarf for months (DD was born in November), until I realised everyone else was wearing spring clothes and the change of season had kind of snuck up on me! Anyway enough wittering!

Italiangreyhound · 25/04/2011 23:53

golf not gold!

Diege · 26/04/2011 09:08

Morning! Wow Italian you do sound rejuventaed and in good spirits after your break Smile. Great to think too that this time next year you WILL be a lot further along the process of having another baby, however it will happen . Lots of love and good wishes to you x
Lol 26 day cycle needn't be too bad. Do you know how long your luteal phase i? My cycles have been 26 days, somtimes less, for about 9 mths now (LP between 9 and 11 days, avergaing 10). IT was 9 days month before I got pregnant, so it is possible.
Hi Lou - yes scan week for us, then off to the second trimester! I have been dreadfully anxious about it this last weekend, to the point where I have had to have a stern word with myself and put things into perspective. I am going to ring the hosp and see if there is any chance of getting the scan early (due to child care problems on Thurs - 3.30pm appointment isn't great timing!) but fully expect to have to stick with the one I've got. What time is your scan?
Right, better go. Dh back from school run so we have a precious day to ourselves!
LOve to all,
D x

Diege · 26/04/2011 09:09

Arghh, meant it was a 9 day LP before I got pregnant, not 9 months (it took 12 months!!)

Diege · 26/04/2011 09:37

Arghh, no cancellations so scan date/time sticks. Never mind - will have to take ds along and see if a kind friend can collect the dds from school that day Hmm.
Weather very cold here...seroiusly considering putting the heating back on Blush

TTTwosAWOL · 26/04/2011 13:31

{{{ Diege }}} Wish you could take someone a tad older with you for moral support instead? Can't your DH get a day off? Or one of the other mums take the wee one? I think if it's a one off most people try and be helfpul. All fingers and toes crossed for you. When is your scan Lou ?

Waves at everyone else.... Lovely day to day here in Edinburgh....

Diege · 26/04/2011 13:49

Hi TTT Smile. Dh was going to come along, bringing ds, so it would be the three of us (and hence the need for someone else to collect dds frm school). However, no-one can collect, so for my peace of mind dh is now staying at home so he can have ds and collect dds from school. I'm fine with that (am oddly better on my own if I'm nervous) and at least it's sorted now!
Feel free everyone to come along on the helicopter!
Sunny in Scotland? How can that be? Wink

TTTwosAWOL · 26/04/2011 20:08

Yes - shocking I know!! we had a barbie in the garden this evening too....

Well, in that case, I will sit with you in the copter and make reassuring noises... I know I was terrified at my 13 week scan, but it was the first one I had in the pg, so my chances of them saying something I didn't want to hear were significantly higher than yours... I have a good feeling about your scan anyway xx
