So I phoned my friend (who is in the know) before going to the hairdressers and after she stopped laughing at me, she confirmed it's just an old wives tale. I have been and had it done, and it not gone green or fallen out (yet) so don't worry about it harassed. Give the EPU all your fears, and maybe not tell them you have already had a scan a few weeks ago, hopefully they will play ball and it will relieve you. fingers crossed.

wombatinwaiting · 13/05/2011 15:27

Gah! Those bloody old wives tales, eh?! Enjoy your haircut and highlights then worm!

Ravenous today and can't get enough cheese.....

harassedinherpants · 13/05/2011 15:55

Soooo I took worms advice and didn't mention the last scan and hopefully I've blagged a scan. Can't self refer to epu but spoke to birthing centre and the mw on duty is going to phone them..... fingers x'd. No leg crossing!!!!

Good news about the highlights, although I'm so Envy that sil may well guess. But she's a bit dippy, although incredibly lovely, so we'll see Grin.

wombat what baby needs.....Grin

emmaandthestar · 13/05/2011 22:01

Hello, sorry I have been quiet its been a tough couple of weeks - I had a death in my family and a colleague at work bemoaning her second pregnancy and how boring it is....

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Worm I am so pleased for you - taking the tips from you and SWI started with fervour again yesterday - special friend and all - it meant to help after all!

Sparkly good news for you too and Wombat all sounds fantastic - hit the shops!!

It's lovely to hear all the good news hopefully I can join you all soon

pecka33 · 13/05/2011 22:21

Hello ladies I'm back!!! Wow what a week, worked till 4am last nyt so I'm wrecked then off on my jollies sunday so thought I'd check in to say hi.
Sparkly, harrassed hope the fears subside soon.
As for my reputation on this thread I think when I return off holiday I need to re~establish my reputation on this thread! I'm coming across a massive sex pest!!! Maybe a name change is needed!!!!
Waves to all xx

wellieboots · 14/05/2011 05:39

Hi all,
hey pecka have a great holiday
emma so sorry you've had other issues going on Sad
YAY for wombatbean and good scan Grin Grin grin]
harassed hope you are doing ok

We will be swi-ing in due course, thank you wombat for asking - feel like a terrible person, we have just found out that my bro and SIL accidentally got updiffed on honeymoon - with twins Grin Grin Grin

But I can't help feeling a bit Envy - not of them as such, but just that it's a reminder that we decided we would like a LO almost 18 months ago, and still nothing Sad and they weren't planning on it at all (have had to give up a job my bro was planning on in Saudi and had already handed in his notice, signed contracts etc, and they're now staying put and he had to beg for his job back) and have ended up with two!!!

I am absolutely Smile for them but it does hurt that my baby was meant to be here in a month, and they have two and I have none - am I a mean horrible selfish person?!

sorry for the moan, waves to everyone else!

pecka33 · 14/05/2011 10:17

Ahhhh wellie, no your not selish, its perfectly nattural. My sil had a little girl 2 weeks b4 I would of been due and felt exactly the same as you, they have 4 kids between them and I have none! Its messed up!!!!
Emma welcome back, sorry you've had a tough couple of weeks.

Well ladies looks like it me sorting out what's now looking closer to brunch that breakfast. So something quick and easy, crumpets are on!!!!

wombatinwaiting · 14/05/2011 17:17

How lovely to hear from you emma - although very sorry to hear you've been having a tough time of late - I hope you and your family are doing as well as you can be. Everything tightly crossed that you will be joining us soon - can we have a quick update as to where you are in your cycle? (spreadsheet purposes and all that!)

Not a terrible person at all wellie - like you say, you're thrilled for them and it's just a case of you wish it was you as well. It's really hard when people just seem to get pregnant at the drop of a hat yet you've been putting so much effort it - the world does seem desperately unfair at times like this. What you are feeling is absolutely natural and normal. Sending hugs and reassurance x

How did your hair turn out worm and harassed? And how are you both feeling? worm - still pretending it's not happening? What news on your new scan harassed - good work.

You're going to have to become very nun-like to reverse your reputation pecka but I'm sure we'll give you a very small chance to change our minds Grin -where are you off to on hols?

Big hellos to sparkly, yellow and och - hope you're all doing well and enjoying your weekends.

harassedinherpants · 14/05/2011 18:12

Evening-ish!

Hair has turned out fab thanks Wombat, not pink or green thank goodness Wink.

Emma so sorry you've had such a hard time. Sometimes it just feels like one thing after another I think.

Wellie god no you're not terrible at all!! Perfectly understandable, and like you said you're pleased for them. There's always a little "it should be me" I think. I had a friend give birth this week, and although I'm delighted I had a "it should be me" moment.

So I have a scan for Wednesday! At 9.30am which I think is about as good as it gets time-wise..... I'd hate a late one. Then, all being good, I have booking in in the evening. Symptoms are raging here!!! I'm good friends with the toilet bowl and have binned all the gross smelly crap the dh buys....rim blocks and stuff . Cravings - salt & vinegar square crisps, Appletiser, heaps of fruit and Innocent Strawberry & banana smoothies. I'm also knackered!! I'm came back from an exhausting 2 hours in the hairdressers and needed a nap Blush. I've had a one of my dvd's from Love Film turn up, and dh is mercilessly taking the mick about me not staying awake that long....

Must go, chicken and sweet potato casserole in the oven .

harassedinherpants · 14/05/2011 18:13

Argghhh Pecka I missed you!! Sooo sorry.

Where are you going on holiday, when and for how long. For the spreadsheet you know..... nothing to do with the fact that I have serious holiday envy as we've not booked anything.

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 18:15

Hi Harrassed! Saw your name, came to say hello, but I believe CONGRATULATIONS is in order. here's hoping to an uneventful eight months. Really pleased for you Hun x
Want to pick your brains ladies: how long after mc did you get your AF? Sorry for diving straight in.. Hope you don't mind. x

harassedinherpants · 14/05/2011 18:22

Hello diamonds..... yes I'm prg again, thank you!

Ummmmm I didn't get an af this time actually, but after my erpc in Jan it was 4 weeks to the day. I've already had an early scan as measurements were spot on for a 28 day cycle as normal. But I am incredibly regular (and lucky).

How long has it been?? No af yet I presume?

Wormshuffler · 14/05/2011 18:25

Hi Girls
I am still feeling a little sick first thing, and then after every meal, and still sore boobs. But yes still not allowing myself to believe I am until at least after 9 weeks where I got to last time.
No wellie I was really miffed about Dsil getting accidently PG and to be honest I still am a bit as I don't think the baby is being born into a stable relationship, makes me so judgey pants too.
You won't be able to fool us originals pecka We have long memories, and wombat has a spreadsheet Wink
Thanks for the congrats emma Grin
Did you get the scan harassed?

I have had a nice family walk along a river to a pub sparkly will be glad to know! and a lovely seafood lasagne mmmm

Anyone up to anything exciting?

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 18:27

I am soooo pleased for you Hun! X
The ERPC was on 15th April. Ovulated on 24th April. Cannot possibly be pregnant as not planning until cycle returns to normal. Was regular text book 28 day cycle before ERPC. Who knows what's happening? They do say it can be anything up to 6 weeks, don't they? Just want it to hurry up and rear it's ugly head, so I know ERPC did it's job! I'm so impatient now!

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 18:30

Congratulations Wormshuffler. FX everything will be fine. It's understandable for you to be so cautious this time. It's a defence mechanism. Hope that your symptoms stay strong if only to reassure you ! X

emmaandthestar · 14/05/2011 20:11

Thanks for your support, although somehow the tough weeks have brought me and DH closer and SWI is a lot better than last month when I had raging tonsilitis!! That was not fun!!

I am on CD14 and we are aiming for at least every other day until the 19th!!Wombat you can now keep track!

harassed I hope you don't stress out too much before the scan - I know it's virtually impossible though...

Waves to all

Sparklywine · 15/05/2011 11:53

Morning ladies! If you're peckish, I have a carrot cake rising away nicely in the oven
No news, I just wanted to share my smug domestic goddessness with you all x

Wormshuffler · 15/05/2011 14:13

mmm carrot cake yes please!
I am in total freak out mode today, had no nausea for 24 hours now............it's my own fault for browsing baby names last night..........Silly silly girl.
Great news on the scan harassed it will be fine I'm sure, the sickness is a great sign....................

Hi everyone, sorry to bring you down!!

yellowtomato · 15/05/2011 16:48

Hi worm sorry you are having a freak out but don't apologise, that's what we're here for. Symptoms come and go , esp at such an early stage. How are you feeling now?

Have a big hug and some camomile tea and a lay down on the sofa.

wombatinwaiting · 15/05/2011 18:15

Hi ladies - just a v quick post from me as it's late here and it's an early flight to Qatar for the day tomorrow.....

worm - as yellow says, symptoms do come and go.... hard to take the advice, I know, but sending hugs and a slice of sparkly's carrot cake......

How's your bil yellow? Hope you're having lots of fun.

Thanks for the update emma - good work with the SWI - we'll be expecting an update in about 2 weeks time please!

Good news on the scan harassed and that you've got a morning one too.

Diamonds - welcome to the thread and do hang around if you'd like to. For me, it was about 3 / 4 weeks after the bleeding stopped (on both ocassions - one natural and one ERPC. Different for everyone though. Hope you're doing ok.

Ta for cake domesticgoddesssparkly. Keep meaning to ask how the kittens are doing.....

Waves to all and off to bed! xx

OP posts:
yellowtomato · 16/05/2011 08:06

Morning ladies

I just swung by to see how worm is doing and pick up some brekkie........and there is none. The standards in this place are really slipping.

So how are you today worm?

I had a lovely weekend with the bil but it is jolly tiring having guests. He's so easy going and happy to do whatever we suggest but considering during my normal weekend I spend a lot of time on the sofa I had to be a bit more active.

Must go........waves to all

Wormshuffler · 16/05/2011 14:33

Hi Girls
Ah thanks for the concern yellow I am still ultra paranoid, if I concentrate really hard I think I am feeling a bit nauseous........ I did just make my booking in appointment, MW said We will need to see you between 8 and 10 weeks, so I insisted on it being 10 weeks so's not to waste ether theirs and My time if it all goes wrong! How are you doing yellow are you and DH actually going to be in the country for OV this month?

Hope everyone else is well

Sparklywine · 16/05/2011 16:50

Worm, how are you doing? I've spent a bit of the weekend researching dropping off/lack of symptoms as mine all but disappeared Friday night, I had a little cry on dh's shoulder that it was all over, and got an early night. I still don't really feel naseous any more and am worried that I quite fancy wine again, but I'm trying to stay calm. What will be will be! If this has failed then the baby just wasn't healthy and ready to enter the world. Not to say I won't be gutted of course.....anyway, an expected mixed message from the pissing time away research. A complete loss of symptoms seemed not to be great news, but a significant dip was often followed by 'back with a vengeance' projectile moaning vomiting and all round relief.
As with Harassed, do you truly deep down think something has gone wrong, or are you paranoid that it has? For me, so far, the latter, which is keeping me fairly positive. I am relying on my body to give me a real sign one way or the other, as it is depriving me of cocktails and filter coffee so it owes me!Grin

It's very individual, I don't want to negate anyone's very real feelings of worry or sound like a deranged hippy, but I do highly recommend taking a deep breath and hugging a hedge Grin

Wormshuffler · 16/05/2011 17:46

Hi sparkly I didn't mean to come across all moody and down, as I'm actually not. I have got myself into the mindset where I'm only a bit PG, but not really IYSWIM that way I am hoping it wouldn't be such a huge blow if it turned out for the worse.........self preservation!! It's definately paranioa (SP) rather than any deep down feary kind of thing!!
I remember that your previous MC hadn't progressed past the very first stage (well actually I just did a search [stalker emocion]) so given that you have already a proper bean you have every reason to be more positive than before. Sending pukey vibes your way!! how long til the next scan?
Would wine gums help Wink

harassedinherpants · 17/05/2011 09:39

Fruit salad, muesli and toast for breakfast?? If I'm eating good stuff, then so are you all Grin.

Worm I think it's natural to feel like that tbh. Like you say and bit of self preservation. If you think the worst, then it can't actually GET and worse!! How are you feeling?? Are you going to have an early scan??

Sparkly I think I'm where you are now... past the very early stages, but hoping my body would give me a sign.

Wombat hope you're not wearing yourself out!

Yellow hope you've claimed back your place on the sofa Grin! It's my 2nd fave place at the moment.....after my bed of course. How is your job going?? How long have you been there now?

Emma hope swi'ing in style Wink!

Wellie How are you now lovely??

Diamonds Any news on af front?

Nothing to report here. Scan at 9.30 tomorrow and then if all is well booking in at 7.30pm (if I can stay awake that late!). Having a clothes crisis....... may invest in a bump band if all is good tomorrow. My tummy is ridiculously bloated! I swear I would pop if you stuck a pin in me, and I feel full up all the time, but need to eat to stop the sickness. Wondering if it's the aspirin?? Anyone else on it??
