I think beesok is due in oct or nov I'm not sure? X

yellowtomato · 09/04/2011 11:43

Come on sparkly you must have done a wee by now, I can't bear the suspense!

Sparklywine · 09/04/2011 12:10

I'm here, I'm here
I did a digi test early am but was really sleepy, plus I'd binned the instruction leaflet, and accidently pee'd on the wrong end, so it malfunctioned. The little window mockingly taunted me to 'see leaflet', which dh thought was hilarious! Then the parents came round, so I was trying not to drink anything to keep my urine concentrated and aflush with hormones Grin
Nipped out the chemists, via the bakers, where I purchased some hot cross buns, which I then had lightly toasted with some butter. Very nice too, I'll stop turning my nose up Wombat.
What? Oh, the test.......................

BFP!
Grin

wellieboots · 09/04/2011 13:01

wombatinwaiting · 09/04/2011 13:39

What wonderful news - many congrats to you and Mr Sparkly. Must have been the magpies and maternity tights I reckon Grin

Now pop your feet up on the purple chesterfield while I fetch Luciano and tea cakes and tell us how you're feeling.

Sorry AF got you wellie but pleased you're now back on track at least - perhaps being down under and all the moving stress etc. just put you off course for a wee while.

OP posts:
Wormshuffler · 09/04/2011 14:02

Get in there sparkly !!!! excellent news!! I knew you were going to be, I had a feeling! What an excellent christmas present you will have!!
wellie sorry She got you too bummer !!!
wombat yes I really am a village idiot, I darn't tell you this detail for fear of mocking but I will anyway..... I actually walked all the way to the other end of the village last night with an empty wheelbarrow in order to fill it with horse shit muck, then pushed it all the way home again!! I can't imagine Felicity Kendal shuffling along the floor with a rampant rabbit though can you Wink

pecka33 · 09/04/2011 14:26

sorry about your af wellie, fingers crossed for next month. X

harassedinherpants · 09/04/2011 14:33

Wahoo! Huge congrats Sparkle!!

At farm park on my phone, be back later.

Sparklywine · 09/04/2011 15:35

Aww, thanks everyone! I feel a bit stunned to be honest, very happy, bit teary, bit sleepy. Trying not to worry about what might go wrong, and concentrate on enjoying the feeling. I've just been out for some forgiving jersey Grin and some supplements. Wombat, what it is you're popping up yer fanjo? Grin
Pecka, did nothing different, and forgot the grapefruit and pineapple, brazil nuts and organic whatnots. I think it was a combination of simply having sex at the right time, and maybe being all excited about my kittens, it just gave me a different focus and chilled me out a bit. I'm terribly aware how fragile the situation is for the next few weeks at least, so I'm going to try not to dwell and hope this bean lasts the course. I shall encourage sparklybean with chat about all the boring educational wooden gifts that will be waiting under the Christmas tree, who wouldn't want to develop as quickly and healthily as possible with that carrot! Grin
Wellie, sorry af got you, Pecka, good luck! Harassed, thanks hun, it will be mixed emotions for you I know.
Worm, I actually think the Kendall was pretty dirty in her time, she could probably teach you some shuffly tricks or two!
*Yellow, have a bottle of Wine for me tonight will you, I'm not sure how to cope with a sober Saturday night!

Nurse, that's Huge and Horrible right? That'll be me Grin
Righto, off to mow the lawn and clean up some sugarpuffs (gloved up to the max, bit worried about toxy-plasma-whatnot)
Love you all!

wombatinwaiting · 09/04/2011 16:56

Indeed Sparkly - what bean wouldn't want to pop out right on queue at Christmas with those waiting under the tree?!

Can you not coerce DH to deal with the cat poo? Promise him all sorts etc..... hmmm - maybe not! Grin

The supplements are 1 x 400g progesterone whizzing up my fanjo each morning. They are routinely prescribed for women who have IVF and my ob/gyn said that if they are doled out for that then why wouldn't you do it for normal women who might need a helping hand (post 2 mcs for me) and even if they do nothing, they do no harm. I believe it's a good idea to start them as soon as you can so can you get to the docs soon if you're interested....? I am also on 1 x 75mg baby asprin daily.

Loving the manure story worm - I think we have to change your name to dirtyfelicity! Grin. Did you do it in the dead of night to avoid being seen? Getting the manure that is, not playing with your rabbit - filthy minds.....! Grin

Much drunken love to you all

harassedinherpants · 09/04/2011 18:31

Helloooo

Sparkly not mixed emotions at all, very pleased for you sweets. So bloody scared of getting a bfp that I want all of you to get one first please!!!! I read this about the [[http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/isitsafeto/catlitterexpert/ cat pooh].

wellie so sorry af got you but at least I can uncross my fingers now!

Worm personally, I think the Kendall is filthy! She has that look you know??

Wombat am taking notes on the progesterone.........

yellow are we going to have drunken love posts??!!

We've been at a farm park today and it was just lovely! Dd has held a baby rabbit and tiny chick, we've picnic'd, had lovely New Forest ice cream and sat in the sun........ Grin The only down side was all the sodding preg women!! They were bloody everywhere, and I swear they were all bloody taunting me with their bumps Sad. Thank god for sunnies, cos I've been a bit unstable emotional for the last couple of days.

harassedinherpants · 09/04/2011 18:32

Oh Sparkly when I saw doc on Thurs I asked if I'd done anything wrong, and she said no, but when I get a bfp to make sure I'm taking my fa and to get plenty of sleep!

emmaandthestar · 09/04/2011 19:12

I am sending you lots of wishes for a sticky Sparklybean! Am so pleased for you, you deserve some good news!!

Have a glass of schloer - it was pimms o'clock for us this afternoon...
Have a family of magpies in the garden, I am now keeping my beady eyes on them!!
Have a fantastic weekend

manamana · 09/04/2011 19:41

Yay sparkly, woo-hoo, well done you and mr sparkly - hooray for the magpies!!!!!! So pleased for you, get your feet up and enjoy the good news xxxxx

wombatinwaiting · 10/04/2011 04:22

Hugs to harassed - it will take time and ups and downs to be expected. I assume you're taking your fa now anyway?

Did Mr Yellow get a jumping on in the end yellow? Wink

Nice to hear from you emma and mana - hope all good with you both.

Do you remember me telling you ladies about my great mate who came to stay with me over NY with her DP and that her previous "D"H had gone along with IVF with her all the way up to the day he had to give in his sperm and then told her that in fact he didn't want kids? Well, she is now updiffed and just 6 days behind me! I struggled a bit between her excitement (it is her first pg) and wanting to temper it a bit and I don't think I came across all doom and gloom but a bit concerned I might have been.... I really don't want to detract from that wonderful ignorance of m/c..... in fact, I think I am more excited for her than for me!

Eggs benedict (well done for sparkly and others) and bucks fizz to celebrate our sparkling BFPer!

OP posts:
Sparklywine · 10/04/2011 08:19

Mmm, eggs benedict!
Lovely, thanks Wombat
Up early thanks to a sober Saturday night, we had a chinese takeaway and watched a bit of telly, not party central and I wasn't at my most talkative but feeling more normal today.
Harassed, all worried about the cat poo thing, I am sure I have accidently touched sugarpuffs with these grotty little kittens. Grin I might ask the gp for blood tests to see if I have immunity. Why am I looking for things to go wrong, so stupid. Perhaps because I could influence this one, but feel it's too late already due to my laziness ignorance. Got to get a grip.
Harassed, indeed, the whole world was pregnant yesterday, it was ridiculous. The first hint of sunshine and there they are with their bumps and horizontal stripes.
Yellow, thanks for having a few drinks for me, much appreciated! How is our hangover? Grin

ochaye · 10/04/2011 08:54

Morning everyone! sparkly ... your bfp story has completely brightened up my day. It was the first post I read when I hopped in here and it made me laugh out loud.

I'm wondering if I can come back and join you. I was on here briefly in January after having an mc on Christmas day last year. I've just mc'd again at 9 weeks and will be back on the ttc roller coaster as soon as we can.

I'm confused and all over the place today. I handled my last mc ok as I'd had one before DD2 so knew I could go on and have a healthy baby afterwards. But two in a row is new to me.

I hope you all have lovely Sundays planned!

wombatinwaiting · 10/04/2011 09:32

Hello there ochaye and welcome back. So sorry to read about your most recent mc and it's no surprise you're all over the place. Do be gentle on yourself and come and hide /rant / chat / cry / shout here. I think harassed on this thread has a similar history to you in that she's recently had 2 mcs and one prior to her other DCs Sad. Are you planning to have any testing done?

Our Sparkly has a wicked sense of humour and so I'm glad to read you got some laughs from her.

Good idea to get the immunity tests done sparkly to set your mind at rest if nothing else. I think they say that most people do have immunity, particularly if you are used to being around cats.

We have moved to new brand new offices today and they are rather nice.... I have already moved desks so that I now have no-one behind me to see how much time I spend on mn!

Waves to all and enjoy the sunshine!

OP posts:
ochaye · 10/04/2011 09:39

Thank you so much for the warm welcome back wombat - this thread is such a huge comfort. I'm not sure if I'll be eligible for any testing ... I'm not even sure if I'm ready for that yet. I think if I have another mc I would maybe do it ... or maybe I would just thank my lucky stars and call it a day. That's going to be a really tough decision to make so I'll mull it over for a long long time I'm sure.

And what brilliant news about your new offices! I would LOVE to have a desk where noone can see what I'm doing.

How far along are you now wombat? Lovely news about your friend too.

There weren't just pregnant people in their droves yesterday ... but lots of people TALKING about being pregnant!!! I honestly think I was the only person in my immediate world yesterday who was no longer pregnant. Unbelievable. I'm off to stalk your history now harassed Grin.

Sparklywine · 10/04/2011 10:39

Hoots, Ochaye, welcome back. Wombat, is she on the tracker, her name is not familiar!

Grin You're brave, the last newbie (apart from Emma who pretended she had been here all along and sort of snuck in and cuddled up on my chesterfield Grin) got a bit of a roasting for daring to lurk and not post, Yellow works for MI6 and she was really rattled but I think she's had her people sort it out.

Sorry you find yourself here in such sad circumstances, weren't you off on holiday or something around crimbo?
Come in and make yourself comfortable, service here is friendly if a bit slack Grin
Did some more research on toxy-whatnot and feel a bit better, as long as the sugarpuffs are fresh and I wash my hands and don't delightedly suck my fingers afterwards I think I will be fine. Wombat, tis a common misconception that people who have been around cats will be immune, not so, only those who grew up on raw steak and around lambing sheep are safe Grin
I love how you make things up to be reassuring though
Just had a boiled egg and now worried about the jelly stuff, is that raw? What have I done??!!

wombatinwaiting · 10/04/2011 11:53

Comfort we do well ochaye.... what we don't do so well at (sometimes) is keeping this thread free from filth and as sparkly has pointed out, cafe service is sometimes a little eratic..... I think you would be eligible for testing as 3 counts as "recurrent" . The only thing I'm not sure about is whether if you've had DCs in between if that still "counts". I'm not an expert but there are some v straightforward blood tests they can do that count out a few hormone irregularities / sticky blood etc. that may mean prescribing you something as straightforward as asprin with your next one to help.... there is a fabulous thread on the miscarriage board called "recurrent buns" something, something and the ladies on there have an enormous amount of knowledge. Thanks for your good wishes and enuiqry for me - v kind of you given what you've been through. I'm 7+3 today and feeling oddly positive about this one. Hanging out for my first scan though which is a week today....

Good to know re the toxydoodah sparkly . Re: the jelly stuff in the eggs, if they are lion stamped, I believe they are virtually guaranteed salmonella-free and if the yolk was firm then that means everything was cooked all the way through. I had to stop myself licking the raw meringue mixture yesterday though - spoon was about half an inch from my mouth when I remembered Grin (and we don't have lion stamped eggs here....)

Hello, another glorious day! I think we're being spoilt...

I've been to Tesco and now have brazil nuts and pineapple juice. Mission ttc a sticky bubs!

Ochaye hello, yes unfortunately have a similar story. A mmc in Jan and a mc 2 weeks ago and also a mc 8ish years ago. Back to ttc again! Unfortunately in my area you have to have 3 consecutive mc's to get further testing, which sucks. My doc has run some blood tests though, thyroid etc as that can be a cause.

Emma I'd forgotten about Pimms until you reminded me! There are benefits to not being upduffed....

Sparkly I'm planning to ask for the toxo test too, although I'm sure I must have had as have had cats since a child. Which, unfortunately, is quite a while ago now!!

Off to a 1st birthday party now, but it's my nieces so not so bad. Might be walking a bit funny from all this ttc though Wink.
