Morning ladies - lovely to catch up on all your news and glad to see the caff has been well run and attended in my absence and what a lot of lovely things you have rustled up between you. Today's special are omelettes to order with whatever filling you choose and scotch pancakes with maple syrup(getting tips from the hotel breakfast....!)

loving the pics of your cats sparkly - too cute for words and hope the new arrivals today settle in well - is their likely to be a territory war between the new and the old? And just a noncholant enquiry as to what CD you are on....?

Anything from you yet worm - loved your pussy comment by the way - and yep, I think it had to be worm or pecka to make it! BTW worm, mentioned you to Luciano DH this weekend and so had to tell him the story behind your name - he couldn't stop guffawing for an hour!

V sorry to hear that AF got you yellow - so what was your cycle length this month? I remember that last month you were worried that it was shorter than normal.... V glad to hear you got the first 2 days work under your belt and that they were fun - what are your new colleagues like? What's your feeling about the culture there? I'm wondering if you should change your talk name to judithnoknickers - shall we take a vote ladies?! Grin

Hope the hangover is better today wellie and good luck with the new contract job - when do you start? So we can expect you to test on Tues if AF doesn't turn up before then....?

Sorry that AF got you too emma and that DH is particularly upset Sad - good that your cycle seems to be nice and regular and that you can enjoy the hols - nothing like SWI when on hols -remind me when you're off again? Or are you there already with mention of hotel chocs? Have a wonderul time if you are!

Glad to hear that you and your kitten are feeling a little perkier harassed - I do hope that continues for you and do continue to be kind to yourself - as we know, these things take time. Will you be getting any more feline friends like sparkly?

Hope everyone is ok today what with it being mother's day and all... a time for reflection for us all I think. Sending hugs.

So..... the weekend..... well, what can I say? Super-decadent luxury with beautiful weather in stunning surroundings where the only thing to do is lie in the sun by your private pool on the huge deck of your "tented villa" where the only decision is what to have for lunch, what to drink and whether to read your book or the magazine.... tough life...... The private pool really was so well designed so that you no-one could see in which meant we could comfortably swim naked Blush - such a liberating feeling and with the sun beating down, all that vitamin D made for a couple of frisky moments - enough said Wink. Lovely to get some "us" time though and made all the better that it was all paid for as an "outstanding leadership" reward from DH's company. We also planned our next holiday which we think we'll combine a few days in the UK followed by Alsace and Corsica in the second half of July - anyone get any tips on either of these regions?

Right - back to reality for me - work is beckoning..... waves to all! x

Ooh pecka -sorry, just saw your post - how interesting re: fortune-teller - fx he's right on everything. WEre you pleased with your makeover shoot pics even though they were funny? Are you having a lovely time with sis and kiddies? Hope the SWI is fun too! x

Hello Ladies
Wow Wombat your break sound amazing! just what you needed! My knowledge of nice places to go is very scant, however if yo can face the crowds in July Cornwall is always a must for us, also Teesdale is beautiful.
I have never been Corsica way i'm afraid, but I am sure Judithcharmers will be along soon!
Pecka it sounds like you are having a lovely catch up with your Sis, and the fortune teller sounds very interesting!! I must admit I only believe them when they say positive stuff and brush off all the bad stuff. I do believe there are people who have "the gift" but the charlatons who do it give them a bad reputation. Your will be genuine for sure!
sparkly how are the new kittens settling in? do they like their new home at the Ritz Wink ?
No news here, and I just caved and POAS, it is day 27 out of a usual 28 so of course it was bound to be bfn and was! I only did it because I had backache and decided it must be a symptom...... silly girl! Last month was a very unusual 31 day cycle for my usual regular as clockwork bod. So I guess if I get to tuesday without it showing up then and only then will I pee on any more sticks!!
I didn't make it for brekkie as my gorgeous DS9 brought me tea and toast in bed this morning! DH is away. It was the nicest weak tea and cold soggy toast I ever did have!! Your times with come girls for this lovely treatment and it will make all this hard work and anguish worth it.
Happy Sunday girls x

wombatinwaiting · 03/04/2011 15:57

Aw worm - your DS sounds adorable and thanks for your lovely words. Bugger re: the BFN but I think I remember you saying that you got a v late BFP with your DCs?

Yep Cornwall was a definite possibility as we have friends down that way but we do fancy a bit of la belle France aussi.....

Curious to know how everything is with the sparklykittens - perhaps war of the felines has broken out and there is matted fur on the keyboard rendering it incapable of delivering an update of the new arrivals.....

Waves to all xx

OP posts:
Wormshuffler · 03/04/2011 18:06

Yes wombat you're speadsheet absolutely right!!! was way after missed period with both, strangely though the one I MC'd I got a BFP the day I was due..... I suppose they could be more sensitive now? it is over 12 years since I got pg with DD.
I think we have been dumped in favour of the pesky cats!! hey sparkly?? They are probably climbing the curtains and pulling up the carpets..........

wombatinwaiting · 04/04/2011 04:34

Morning everyone and happy Monday! Thought we'd have a healthy start to the week so today's special is Bircher Muesli and banana and strawberry smoothies.

This week is a bit mad - I have something on every night, including last night meeting up with my old housemates, one of whom is about to get offered a new job as she was so fed up with getting paid about GBP2k less per month than her useless male colleagues and at the last bonus setting meeting nearly fell off her chair when the MD said that xx female colleague should get a bigger bonus because she has bigger boobs!! Angry Shock Angry - one of the bad things about working in the Middle East is the lack of laws preventing such inequality and sexism.... fortunately she has an ace new job offer for more money and less responsibility and cannot wait to hand her notice in.

Talking of jobs, DH and I have decided that I will def hand my notice in on my 5 year anniversary in current job on 2nd June as it really is getting silly. We were considering it anyway but feel more comfortable doing it as MrWombat has just been promoted! Very Smile and proud of him and of course, the increase in his salary will ease the financial burden.

What news from our testers? Come on ladies, don't be shy....

OP posts:
yellowtomato · 04/04/2011 08:18

Morning all

That breakfast is a bit too healthy wombat can I have toast with honey please? I can't believe that comment about the boobs.......it's crazy stuff. So how far along will you be on 2nd June? Will you plan to go back and do work somewhere else afterwards or just enjoy being at home? Sorry I can't help with either Alsace or Corsica as I haven't been to either. And for the record I have got knickers on! Grin

Ah worm that sounds like a lovely mothers day, fingers and toes crossed that af stays away.

So due to af being 1 day early that means I'll be on my business trip from day 11 to 14.......so that's not very helpful is it?

hope you all had a good weekend, happy Monday!

wellieboots · 04/04/2011 08:47

Yay for the healthy breakfast options! Mine's a banana smoothie.

Hope you all had lovely weekends - we spent a hilarious (and quite stressful!) afternoon yesterday searching for my passport - kinda need it when you live overseas - and got a phonecall this morning saying it had been handed in at the library a couple of weeks ago!!! Felt like such a muppet.

means that we need to get the house tidy - BORING but important.

But other than that we did have a very nice weekend, the weather was great, and we got an extra hour in bed as our clocks changed.

Still no sign of AF, so may POAS tomorrow or Wed if still no sign....

yellow Angry at business trip
wombat Shock at some people's attitudes - my cousin lives in Dubai and I think his wife is a SAHM so she wouldn't have to face that but that is truly awful!

waves to worm sparkly and the kittens emma pecka and anyone else!

Sparklywine · 04/04/2011 15:50

Yoohoo ladies! I should have had some of that bircher muesli, I have become obese! Have spent the weekend eating and drinking far too much as usual so feel a bit crap. My dad went in a big huff with me yesterday and decided to ignore me, no reason, he does it when he's stressed but not helpful when my dsis had organised a family get-together for Mother's Day. I couldn't wait to get home to dh and the cats.
Speaking of which, I've a couple of days off to help settle them in. They've had the run of the upstairs today, with my two happily snoozing downstairs. Now though it's wide-awake time, Moochie is staring out the girl-kitten, and the boy kitten is in his litter again! All they do is eat and shit! Grin I can't help wondering what I've done occasionally, the newbies are happy enough but Manjula has taken a right huff and clunked out of the cat-flap. I'm sat guarding the doorway, inhaling cat-poo. It smells of sugar puffs actually.
Wombat, glad you had such a lovely weekend away, it sounds luxurious. AF is due friday for me, don't feel at all pregnant, feel a bit spaced out, and a bit down.
Gargh, girl-kitten covered in shit, gotta go! x
ps - names don't fit, girl may be Batfink as she has fangs that protrude out oif her mouth. Yup, she's a looker! Grin
Hi everyone else, sorry about af Yellow x

Wormshuffler · 04/04/2011 18:38

Hi Ladies
Sounds like the kitties are keeping you very occupied sparkly I very much doubt you are obese!
wellie still no sight hey........ jolly good lets hope it stay that way!
yellow that is a big shitter about being away during the crucial days...... dare I suggest collecting some and taking with you? Now I am conjuring up all kind of visions........... you could keep it cool in a cool bag, I saw some lovely flowery ones in harrods........
Unbelieveable about the boobs getting someone a pay rise..... unless she was a glamour model , scrub that I have just remembered where you live.

Still no sign here yet either, think it is actually 28 days tomorrow so really I should't get excited until at least thurs....... hmmmmm, good job I don't have anymore sticks around the place.....

We are off out for a chongo tonight, a farewell meal to the M in L who is retiring 300 odd miles away, I never understand why people do this, especially when as She does, they thrive on knowing what their family is up to. I think it is a huge mistake for them. Also with her daughter being newly pregnant and so young........ It's just a pipe dream that has got way out of hand IMO. ........

wombatinwaiting · 04/04/2011 18:51

Phew re: passport wellie! I lost mine once and so had to get a new one and then found the old one a few months later on top of a cupboard Confused - what the eff that was all about, I don't know. What I do know is that once you've done it once, you get kind of paranoid and don't let it out your sight..... yes, I know I lost mine in Christchurch, but that was slightly different circumstances! Glad you had a good weekend and dooooo keep us posted with the POAS.

Any update from you re: AF worm - tomorrow is day 29 for you soooooo when will you POAS again?

Gawd - I'm obsessed aren't I sparkly?! Thank you for supplying the Friday info on you - I will try not to hunt you down casually enquire as to your status. Sorry to hear about your dad and that you're feeling down - anything we can do to help? Sounds like you have your hands full with the new arrivals. Loving batfink for the girl - what are the possibilities for new boy-cat? Also, how can cat poo smell of sugar-puffs? Confused - does your swish new corner cat litter come with breakfast cereal scent diffusers? Grin

Bugger, bugger re: business trip yellow - you must be spitting. What day do you normally ov? Glad to hear your cycle was more its usual length this time. I assume you're still doing ap and the forest floor scrapings?

2nd June I should be around 14 weeks, however, I want them to know I'm not leaving because I'm pg, but because where the company goes and where I want to go just doesn't fit.... Actually planning to be a SAHM Blush - like wellie's cousin's wife - reasonably common here and may do some consultancy work further down the line - we'll see - many hurdles to cross before then!

OP posts:
wombatinwaiting · 04/04/2011 18:53

x-post worm - sorry, got a bit ahead of myself with your cycle days... I know you'll let us know as and when.

Now what on earth is a chongo? I guess with in laws moving away, you and DH will become even more important to your sil - hope that won't cause you too much stress....

OP posts:
Wormshuffler · 04/04/2011 19:50

Chongo=chinese meal Grin

wombatinwaiting · 05/04/2011 05:08

In keeping with the healthy theme this week, please help yourselves to the tropical fruit salad and yogurt which can also be served with a side helping of waffles, or honey on toast, especially for yellow Grin

Not much to report from the land of the sand today. Just waiting to hear if wellie has caved and POAS yet....

Also, it's been a bit quiet from pecka of late - I'm assuming she's completely exhausted from the kiddies and this month's SWI-athon....

emma - have you left on your hols yet?

harassed - how are you doing these days? Hope you're ok and slowly easing back into the swing of things. Sending hugs x

Waves to all you other lovely ladies.

OP posts:
yellowtomato · 05/04/2011 08:15

Morning all

How are all you lovely people today? Thanks for the cool bag idea worm I guess it's ok to take as hand luggage as long as it's less than 100ml and in a clear plastic bag Grin

I usually ov on CD11 or CD13 so one of two hardy ones might last the distance. I am still drinking the woodland floor scrapings wombat but I started to get something a bit like eczema around one eye and the acu said it could be over stimulation of the kidney (or something) so I think the herbs are taking a break after I have finished this batch.

How was the chongo worm?

How are the cat wars/shit situation sparkly? Sounds like those little cats are a full time job! They are so cute........I once saw a cat give birth, it was totally amazing.

so wellie have you POAS'ed yet this morning? What news?

I'm so hungry today, I'll have that toast with honey, how about some ham and cheese? Or is that wrong for breakfast?

Waves to everyone

wombatinwaiting · 05/04/2011 10:41

He, he - just had visions of yellow at airport security attempting to explain the contents of her hand luggage.... mind you, if DP can manage 100ml, that's impressive - something to do with the gallic influence I guess Grin Your acu guy / herbs are pretty full-on then if it can do something like that....

Luciano is practicing his mixology today so order away on the cocktails ladies!

OP posts:
harassedinherpants · 05/04/2011 11:01

Hi, I am here!! Mmmm, honey on toast for me please.

Had a very busy weekend, mixed in with lots of feeling down in the dumps. I've put on weight, but can't stop myself comfort eating, so feel crap about that too, so comfort eat........ Bloody dsd ignoring me the whole doesn't help either, and dh can't see the difference between teenage stuff and rudeness Hmm.

Plus I think I'm ov'ing, and I have two spots! Never get spots.

Yellow try explaining that to customs!!

Wombat Ohhh your weekend sounds bliss..... are you all relaxed this week?

Sparkly how's the cats?? Dh was moaning about ours again this morning. She sleeps in our room in the drawers all night then hangs about while he gets up, goes down stairs with him, and then does a big smelly poo when he's getting his breakfast.......every morning Grin.

Wellie any news??

Worm glad you enjoyed takeaway. My grandparents retired to the Isle of Wight, which isn't that far as we're in Hampshire, but the ferry/hovercraft mean it's a bit of a pain, and also difficult to get to them when they got seriously ill. I don't get it tbh......you need your family as you get older.

Must do some work!

Sparklywine · 05/04/2011 15:30

Sssshhh, they're sleeping!
I am on the conservatory sofa with two kittens and the man of the house (Moochie Grin), all curled up. Batfink loves Mooch, he's like George Clooney to her little gunky kitten eyes. Manjula is still in a huff, she has flounced out of the catflap in disgust. The house also does not smell quite so badly of sugar-puffs today which is nice. I love that this may be a feature of the triangular car litter tray! A word of warning to those considering making a similar over-priced purchase, they are pretty worthless if none of your walls are at right-angles!

Right, enough with the cat-talk, sorry I'm a little obsessed. Felt stir-crazy this morning and found myself really looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow, what does that say about my capacity for all-consuming motherhood? Grin
Anyone read that 'Worst things you have done to your children'? It is really funny and a little bit sad. Harassed, anything to share? Grin
We all know that Yellow can get anything through customs, she is like Jason Bourne.

Wombat, I ate at home today, wasn't fit to face the world without mascara!
I'll have a proper catch-up tomorrow at work during a break, wavey wave!
Shit, Manjula has clocked us through the window and she looks mad!

harassedinherpants · 05/04/2011 15:39

I saw that thread as was trying to think. Nothing too terrible bar the normal letting them roll off the bed thing!

Funniest thing was going to Tesco with ds2 who must have 15ish. He decided to wait in the car, but unknown to me I automatically locked it.....and alarmed it! So he moved and set our bright red and very loud Volvo off. I came out to find it still going, surrounded by 3 security guards and ds was absolutely furious Grin.

Then there was the time dh dumped 5mth old dd on the floor cos Man U scored!! Freaked the life out of me and ended up with ambulance as she wouldn't wake up later on. Have never let him forget that one.

My boys managed their own scrapes all on their own!

Wormshuffler · 05/04/2011 19:06

Hi there everybody! I hope I find you well on this fine evening? I don't have much time, as just about to take DS to tae kwon do just a me me me post really, Af not here yet Grin but still bfn, but am now officially late so I am still in with a shot........... will test again with first wee of the morn wish me luck ........ xxx

emmaandthestar · 05/04/2011 19:44

Good luck worm
Sparkly loving the cat antics and batfink is a good name indeed.
Yellow I was just remembering having to taste dd's milk (not formula) so imagining what you would have to do!!

We have now romantically scheduled in our SWI sessions on the calender to make sure we are more successful this month.

My mother was really helpful in saying that she didn't understand why we were so intent on trying for a baby and that we should wait - what does she know she has never been through the situation grrrrr (sorry for the rant)

wellieboots · 06/04/2011 00:10

Hi Everyone,
Apologies in advance for me me me post!

ARGH at cheapie tests from this country which I cannot figure out!!! Angry
finally summoned up courage to POAS this morning - got up early so DH still here to deal with fallout, all organised.... and I've no idea what I've done wrong but it came up invalid so will need to wait til later!

I can hardly function for thinking about it! I am just going to have to pull myself together and get on with the day (and drink lots!!!)

Will come back later when feeling more optimistic about the world, waves to everyone!
