Hi knitter I get super dizzy all the time too, exactly the same as when pregnant with DS (which means it is one of the symptoms that I like Grin ) From what I remember from discussing it with the doc last time, its more about having low blood pressure than being anemic (but being knackered is definitiely a symptom of anemia) My blood pressure is usually low anyway, and pregnancy lowers it further making you quite light headed. Definitely discuss it with doc/midwife though, anemia blood test is standard one, so they will pick it up if its there. Dont self prescribe iron or spatone first though, much better to have your blood tested first so you know where you stand, and then add the supplements. Be very careful, most iron supplements cause constipation!
Keeping yourself well hydrated will help (but not cure it)

Velvetcu · 06/03/2011 14:37

knitter I also had a dream about removing a blood soaked tampon last night! How freaky!!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 06/03/2011 15:30

Hmm at the bizarre dreams - don't worry, it's a symptom!!

I, on the other hand, had a very vivid dream last night about carrying a baby all around London in the middle of the night, including - for some unknown reason - walking over Tower Bridge several times Hmm. Obviously I have no baby of which to speak nor even the hint of a bfp so am happy to swop dreams with anyone getting too freaked out Grin

As you were, ladies...

Hi Guys, Can I jump on board this thread? I have been on the ttc after mc thread since my mmc in December and got a BFP on Friday. Excited and terrified and a bit hmmmmm about the journey ahead and wondering like everyone else if there is likely to be any chance of an early scan on the NHS.... nice to see some familiar names and if it's ok I'll lurk around for a while...

PinkFondantFancy · 06/03/2011 18:23

Evening all! Hope you'll all had nice weekends!

tunnocks hope you've found your swimming cozzie! I think there must be some fairy that goes around stealing them - I've lost one too. I am Envy Envy of your centre parcs trip! Hope you have a fabulous time.

:( at everyone's dreams, they sound horrible. Hopefully they will naff off soon - not the sort of stress you need!

Welcome katherine and congratulations on the BFP! Hope you're doing ok - feel free to add yourself to the list if you fancy.

knitter I've been feeling faint and dizzy on and off, but not actually blacking out. I've heard it's a good sign, I agree with mummya that you should definitely mention it though, especially the blacking out bit. I want to give your DS a big squeeze, he sounds absolutely gorgeous.

This arrived for me today wedding Grin Grin

Velvetcu · 06/03/2011 18:42

awwww Pink that is soooo cute!

Hi Katherine congrats on the BFP. I had a very blunt midwife on Friday tell me no there would not be any early scans just because I've had an mmc so hopefully yours are a bit nicer!

Welcome hils and Katherine and congrats on your bfps. It's terrifying but as you can see from the list we all seem to be slowly inching our way through the first trimester.

knitter feeling dizzy is one of my symptoms. I suppose it could be low bp I haven't had it checked. May ask this Friday at my scan. Thanks for the heads up. I'm also taking aspirin which I suppose could be lowering my bp even more.

I dared to look at one of my pg books this morning. I loved looking through it when pg with ds but now it feels like such a taboo. Anyway my symptoms don't seem to match any of the books. No sore boobs and no nausea, no increased need to wee.

Thought my 'symptoms' were easing but think I've overdone it today - shopping for veggie seeds and my mums bday pressie. Baked and iced a cake. Now have back ache and a hot 'periody' feeling in my womb. Feet up for the rest of the evening. Scratch that I can hear dh struggling to roll out a bit of pastry...

digitalgirl · 06/03/2011 19:37

Aaaaaaaaargh! Why are men so fucking useless in the kitchen?!!!! I am SUPPOSED to be RESTING but listening to dh stumble and swear while attempting to make dinner is making my blood boil!!!

nickstermum · 06/03/2011 19:42

PMSL... at least he is trying digi...i normally do the prep and cooking and dh clears the bombsite.

Freaked out this weekend. Dont really want to post about it on here as i dont want to freak anyone else out.. its not about me! but need a bit of reassurance...

digi I get that funny hot feeling too! Hahaha at your DH, bless him for trying! :D What's he trying to make? Sounds quite adventurous if it involves pastry!

nix hope you're ok. I agree with Mrs teacake, spill, it's what we're here for.

nickstermum · 06/03/2011 20:18

My friend rang me yest to say her close friend (who was due a week after me in aug... I know her but only to say hello to) had mmc at 16 weeks. My friend hadn't wanted to tell me for the obvious reasons but felt she had to given we live quite close to her.

It's just freaked me out, and cos I haven't felt much movement I amnow paranoid! She had started to bleed, then was scanned to no heartbeat.

Put it this way, am off for a Doppler fix tomorrow :)

Anyway, didn't want to freak anyone else put and sorry if I have, but I just needed to seek some solace I think!!

Hope everyone else is ok xx

PinkFondantFancy · 06/03/2011 20:23

:( your poor friend. I think that's what happened to izzy too. :( Going for the doppler is a good idea. I guess what we've all got to bear in mind is that it's possible for something like that to happen at any stage, but that if you get beyond 12 weeks it's very unlikely and we've all just got to hope for the best. That's what I'm going with anyway - blind hope that it's all going to be ok....

Oh nix that is not what you needed to hear! Doppler fix sounds good :)

nickstermum · 06/03/2011 20:38

True I agree! Same here Teacake re checking the breathing in Ds!!
It's hideous for her poor girl, she couldn't have a d & c either as baby was too big :( so the Hosp said.

Pink you are absolutely right, it can happen but the risk is very low, statistically anyway! I have absolutely no reason to think the same will/has happened here but just as I was starting to relax it's thrown me for six!

katherine2008 · 06/03/2011 20:39

Can I ask a daft question - if you have booked a private scan to check for hb, when have you done it. My MMC was at 11 weeks and the bean had stopped growing at about 7 which I'm told means it unlikely ever had a heartbeat. So should I try and book for about 7 weeks? Any advice gratefully appreciated.

Waving at everyone and thank you for your warm greetings. Off to bed now, this pregnancy malarkey is exhausting...! Smile

katherine I agree that one at 8 weeks seems like a good idea if you can hold on that long!

Hehe tunnocks I think it would be good if we had a bump window that would let us continually spy on the little thing - it would actually make me more productive cos at least I could have a little look and then get on with some work rather than spending all day at my desk daydreaming about what it looks like and what it's doing!!! Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 06/03/2011 21:06

nicks Sad your poor friend. pink is right, that was me too, but I am de-lurking to try and reassure not freak you out further...I have to say I looked up all the stats afterwards and it is really really rare, and - even though it's happened to me - I do honestly still believe that. If you think, after you've seen a hb at 10 wks you're 96.4% likely to carry to term; that statistic has got to get even better if you've seen a hb at 11, 12, 13 etc weeks, it has to. Like your friend, I was just incredibly unlucky. I know it's difficult to hang on to that when you're close to it (and god knows I'm sure I'll be full-on mentalling if I ever get another bfp!) and definitely go for a listen in if it will set your mind at rest, but please try to keep in mind that it's so so unlikely to happen to you now xx
