LPO with DS I felt terrible PMT for about a week and AF just never came, so eventually I decided just to test and got an equivocal result, then waited 3 days and tested again, BFP!!!!

LPO · 27/01/2011 16:27

Bee you can start using techniques as soon as you start trying, there is no rules. I have been just using the ovulation calendar at the moment.

MummyBerry Thanks for that, maybe that is what it is... feel totally grumpy and keep going to the toilet thinking AF has arrived, but so far nothing...

Hi everyone, can i join?

I recently mc but am so ready to ttc again!! Just waiting to get my AF!

You all seem to be just starting to ttc again and figuring things out so i thought i'd jump aboard for the ride!! I really don't have a clue Confused....we were lucky last time and got pg after 1 month. I did use the ovulation sticks which helped i think.

I am ttc #1.

LPO · 27/01/2011 18:17

Collie welcome to the group! :)

Can anybody tell me the difference between spotting in early pregnancy or a normal period?
Am currently ttc and have just noticed a small amount of blood...??

Also, when is it possible to do a pregnancy test?

OP posts:
MummyBerryJuice · 28/01/2011 09:21

LPO spotting is usually a very small amount of pink/bright red blood. Darker blood (with or without clots) period. I'd think, given the way you have been feeling the past few days, that you're probably getting your period. Sad sorry.

I have very irregular cycles but should probably be coming on this weekend. I'll wait till next weekend to test though.

ghosteditor · 28/01/2011 09:31

Hello ladies, I'd like to join too! I'm TTC #1, last AF was Jan 21st. This is basically our first month of TTC as DH travels a lot with work and we started trying after (probable) ovulation in mid Jan.

Work is going v well for me at the moment so am a bit Confused by the idea of a career break now, but DH is five years older than me and we both really want to start a family, so I figure the sooner the better, really.

Collie2 · 28/01/2011 09:41

LPO not so sure about spotting/bleeding. I think nhs say to take pregnancy test after you have missed your expected first day of AF. I think though hgc levels CSM be detected 7 days after ov. BUT If you take it early and it's negative it could be wrong. B4 my mc I took an early test and it was a BFN (negative) but a week later got a BFP (positive).

Good luck xx

Collie2 · 28/01/2011 09:45

Hi ghost welcome. I understand the career break dilema. I've put it off for a few years to climb the ladder so to speak, and now I'm ready there's so much change I worry I will lose out if I'm off. But I'm 31 and can't put it off forever. Xx

ghosteditor · 28/01/2011 09:51

hey collie, yes, that's it exactly. I've just been promoted (though it's a bit of a complicated story) but of course I have no idea how long it might take to fall pregnant and how long I might need to take off if and when we have a baby. DH earns 2.5 times my salary so there's no option to share leave etc.

I figure I have decades left to climb the career ladder and even though I am v career oriented at this stage, that might change. There's just no way to know. I'm in what used to be a very male-oriented profession that is now full of women, so the industry is going to have to change to keep up.

In any case good luck all!

LPO · 28/01/2011 09:51

Definately AF Sad was just clutching at straws.

Collie2 · 28/01/2011 10:20

LPO so sorry! ((BIG HUGS)) to you!
Treat yourself to something nice tonight x

blue22 · 28/01/2011 13:16

Hiya - LPO sorry it was AF and not a BFP (all these acronyms are already confusing me!) I tested again as still no period and it's a negative, so now I'm convincing myself that it's early menopause or something Confused Feel very crampy and fat! I think I'll try some ovulation sticks to see if I can work out what's going on with my cycle.
DP keeps telling me to relax not worry and I know he's right, I just have this feeling it's going to be really hard this time.
Better go as can hear DD really not settling down for her nap. I'll check back in later.
Mummyberry hope AF doesn't show up this weekend Grin

LPO · 28/01/2011 13:26

Just checked and next months dates work out to be when DH is away! Sad

blue sorry your struggling. Have you spoken to your GP about not getting AF?

OP posts:
blue22 · 28/01/2011 13:31

No as pretty sure it's just because I've come off the pill and my body's taking its time getting back to normal. It's just my own impatience - I'm desperate to start a cycle so we can really try propery if that makes sense.
Obviously if it's not here in another 3 weeks or something I'll get things checked out.
Sorry that dates aren't looking good for this month LPO - still try as often as he's home though as dates aren't always correct. I didn't think there was any way I could be pregnant with DD1 - DP had done nights for the 2 weeks mid cycle which is never very convenient for 'trying'. But somehow I was!!!
AAAHHH DD really fighting this nap....

LPO · 28/01/2011 13:33

Just about to go wake DS up, but enjoying the quiet at the moment!!
Totally thought it would happen straight off again this time (DS was our little mistake).

OP posts:
TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 28/01/2011 20:10

Forgot to add myself to the stats:

MummyBerryJuice 31yo TTC #2 DS 13months still BF
LPO 22yo TTC #2 DS 21 months
BeeMyBaby 24yo TTC#2 DD 12 months
theWicketKeeperIsDown 38yo TTC #2 DD 22 months still BF

So after being all paranoid that I'm not ovulating as still BFing, the stick this morning said go go go! Wish me luck, girls!

LPO · 29/01/2011 07:34

Go Go Go!!!!
Is this an ovulation stick?? Do they really work? I look forward to hearing in a few weeks wicket

OP posts:
TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 29/01/2011 08:15

Yes, an ovulation predictor kit. The temperature should confirm if you actually have ovulated. Like you say, we'll know in about 3 weeks - just in time for my birthday on Valentine's day... Hope I get a nice present!

Sorry about AF LPO. I hate all the symptom spotting. It's so emotionally wearing.

blue22 · 29/01/2011 08:54

Well my period is finally here - I'm pleased really, as means I can try to work out when my ovulation will be in february and have fun trying.
How are you Bisous?
How exciting Wicketkeeper good luck!
I'm an end of feb birthday with period due on 25th so hopefully I'll get birthday present too!
Good luck everyone
x

Collie2 · 29/01/2011 09:12

Go Go wicketkeeper! Hope you had some succesfull SWI!! Grin

blue glad to gear your AF has arrived so you can start ttcing! Are you charting? The fertility friend website is good. If your tracking your temperature you can upload it and it helps you see when you are ovulating. Here's a like to there gallery of charts www.fertilityfriend.com/ChartGallery/

I've just taken by temp today for the first time but it's probably a bit useless as I've still not had my AF after my mc so god knows what's going on.
Xxx

MummyBerryJuice · 30/01/2011 07:54

Starting to feel crampy and bloated Sad. Would probably explain my crankiness the last few days though.

LPO · 30/01/2011 09:08

Mummyberry crampy and bloated can be early signs...

OP posts:
MummyBerryJuice · 30/01/2011 14:07

I know but...

Don't want to get my hopes up.

LPO · 30/01/2011 15:14
