Hi, can i join? TTC 6 months. On second round of Clomid. DS is 3.5 yrs old took 3 years to arrive so didn't want to wait too long TTC without results before taking further action. Fingers crossed it has worked this month, will know over next couple of days... Am a mixture of scared (of disappointment) and excited (that we might have done it)... Here we are on the rollarcoaster of TTC!!

MummyBerryJuice · 24/01/2011 20:20

Wow. We're gaining a good number of members. Should we do the 'stats' thing I've seen on other conception threads?

I'll start:
MummyBerryJuice 31yo TTC #2 (I don't know the rest Blush) sorry Sad

LPO · 25/01/2011 12:01

MummyBerry that is so funny, I regularly see the 'stats' and don't have a clue what they all mean!
If anybody does, please enlighten us! :)

Blue ha ha, let's keep our fingers crossed that it is an omen!

Blue22 31yo TTC DC 2
I think the rest are to do with the cycles you're on?
I'm hoping to be on cycle 2 if AF ever shows up. Thought my body would go straight back to normal when coming off the pill as it did the last time, but clearly it has different ideas this time around.
Keep doing preg tests (even though virtually impossible for me to be preg) but all BFN - just want AF to show so I know where I am with cycles.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 25/01/2011 20:33

Hi guys, can I join too? First cycle trying for us. It took 6 months to conceive my DD, so shouldn't get too excited too soon but, y'know...

I'm 37 (38 in 3 weeks - yikes!) and #1 is 22 months. Good luck everyone!

blue22 · 25/01/2011 20:35

Hi Wicketkeeper like your name! Are you a cricket fan??!
Good luck with this month. Are you guys all doing the ovulation stick thing? I never have done, but open to trying it if people think they work?

MummyBerryJuice · 25/01/2011 21:04

I've been considering basal body temp measurement but for various reasons I'm not that keen. Firstly, I'm just too disorganised to remember to take my temp in the morning before I get up and then secondly I'm worried that it will make the whole thing seem too much like a 'project' and then I'll be dissapointed everytime AF shows up.

A friend used them though and worked brilliantly for them. Fell pregnant on the day the stick said she was ovulating n

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 25/01/2011 21:11

Hi blue - no, not a cricket fan. It's a line from a song by Pavement, who I love.

I'm doing the pee sticks and temp charting - I'm still breastfeeding, so not sure if I'm ovulating or not. I know just what you mean about the project thing mummyberryjuice but my cycles are pretty irregular at the best of times, so I'm just going with it. I keep my thermometer right by my alarm clock so I see it/feel it when I stick my arm out to turn it off.

MummyBerryJuice · 25/01/2011 21:43

I'm also still bf. And still quite alot at night too Sad. But I'm too lazy to put a stop to it Grin. First AF over New Year so not so sure about my ovulation either we're just going for the throwing lots of sperm at the problem hoping for the best option Grin

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 25/01/2011 21:53

You still have some energy left over mummyberryjuice?! Smile

GizzyBoo · 25/01/2011 22:01

Hi ladies.

Right I am gonna put this in writing now so when I have turned mental symptom spotter you can all send me back to this post [bgrin]

This is my first AF in almost 8 years and I had forgotten what a PITA it all was....I have achy norks, feel dizzy, am incredibly tired, have over-active bladder, dodgy tummy and have been having cramps since day before it started.

So for future reference none of these symptoms point to a BFP for me [bgrin]

LPO · 26/01/2011 08:35

What does AF stand for???

22yo, TTC#2, DS 21months.

blue22 · 26/01/2011 08:40

Aunt Flow - a weird euphemism for your period!
Still haven't got mine. Might test again even though know it'll be negative. Cursing myself for not coming off pill earlier.
So impressed with all of you still BF and finding time/energy to TTC - I stopped when DD was around 9 months and honestly was a walking a zombie while still doing night feeds.

LPO · 26/01/2011 08:53

Oh thank you so much!!!! I new it was a term for period and have spent weeks trying to work out what on earth it stands for!!! Blush

blue how long were you on the pill for?

Last AF (now I know what that means) was 3rd Jan so very first month of trying for me!

Bisous · 26/01/2011 11:08

Sad feeling fed up AF just arrived. This was our 2nd cycle on Clomid and doc say we can try for 3 more months... Feeling sad, really thought we'd done it this time Sad

blue22 · 26/01/2011 11:15

Oh Bisous I'm so sorry. You poor thing. Really look after yourself today and try and think positive for next month. Easier said than done though. Sending you hugs and tea (or wine!)

Bisous · 26/01/2011 11:21

Thanks blue22. Think it will be an early glass of wine this evening Wink. In the mean time DS is keeping me distracted. Just hope today he forgets about asking me if he can have a brother or sister...

LPO · 26/01/2011 11:33

sorry to read this bisous.

All you can do, sadly, is just keep trying! And keep yourself positive :)

OP posts:
Bisous · 26/01/2011 11:38

Thanks LPO. Give me a day or two and i'll be on the 'up' again getting excited about trying again Wink.

LPO · 26/01/2011 11:43

ha ha, oh yes, the trying ;)

OP posts:
blue22 · 26/01/2011 11:50

Oh that must be really hard with your DS. What do you say to him? How difficult for you. Definitely have that glass of wine. How's your DH? Does he take it as hard as you?

Bisous · 26/01/2011 12:06

I tell DS that we will try to have one but it might not work and explain that all families are different, some have 1 child, others have 2 or 3 etc. He seems to accept that for a moment but then says he wants us to be a 2 child family. He would be a lovely big brother, he is a very caring and considerate child. While writing this he's just come in and asked what name would we give to his sister if she comes... Sad

DH is an only child so is ok about our son being an only child. And even though he'd like another its not a big deal for him, but he knows how it effects me. He is sweet though and will probably come home with a bunch of flowers or something.

He's off for a business dinner tonight so I'll curl up on the sofa and watch what I want with a bottle of red and a large bar of chocolate! Grin

LPO · 27/01/2011 12:54

Urgh, feeling crappy today! :(
Feeling major PMT, pains, tiredness and generally 'CBA'.
Due AF on Sunday/Monday. But was hoping not to get it (obviously).

OP posts:
BeeMyBaby · 27/01/2011 14:32

Shall we continue the stats?

MummyBerryJuice 31yo TTC #2 DS 13months still BF
LPO 22yo TTC #2 DS 21 months
BeeMyBaby 24yo TTC#2 DD 12 months

How long do people try for before they start using the themometer or ovulation sticks? Have people been using the themometer technique as soon as they decided they want a baby or for the first couple of months do you just do a kinda 'wait and see' method?
