A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread!

Velvet I have exactly the same thought running through my head about the month. I got pregnant in Jan 2010, first month trying and here I am again in Jan 2011 and its first month TTC. It creeped me out for a little while, but then I quickly realised that I have overcome A LOT of crap to get this far, a little bit of superstition is not going to stop me. Sorry you are feeling so down at the moment... it does remind me of how lots of women on here have had a very low patch just before a BFP.Wink Kind of "always darkest just before dawn" sort of thing. Grin

Date watch will end. You wont be here the longest. You are allowed to be miserable if you want.

izz have you been for your acupuncture appointment? How did it go? Xx

DachshundsWantPuppies · 18/01/2011 08:46

pink i am also a ttc1 buddy

:)

Day off today, taking it easy. The dogs don't seem to understand that. DH saw to them this morning before he headed out to work - it's usually me. Dogs therefore unsettled so instead of me having a long lie in I had to get up to stop them barking... They won't be getting any doggy treats for tea...

I think I might have to change my name to DachsIsAPOAS Addict - As well as the CB digis I bough vast quantities of internet cheapies. The theory being that if I get updiffed I won't believe it until the 12 week scan, and maybe not even then. And it would be too expensive to CB every day, so I thought 'i know, cheapies will be better'. But that assumes I'll be getting updiffed and now I'm worried I've tempted fate far too much and if I had a chance of it working I've ruined it. So feeling a little fragile today.

velvet You won't be here the longest. Going by past experience it took 7 years for number 1 so I reckon I'll be here another 6.5 years. And the Oracle has spoken - you'll be updiffed by March.

loola Your due date was exactly a week after mine - i was due March 11 - BFP by then please! :)

nix Enjoy your S&M break ;)

To all you updiffed ladies waiting and worrying, especially womby and orange waiting for test results and reassurance scans I hope you are all OK and I have my FX crossed for your sticky beans

youremindmeofthebabe · 18/01/2011 08:48

(to be read in a Geordie accent)

"Day 16 in the Limbo household, and youremindme is struggling to locate her sanity"

Hey folkses. Temps still up. mood still confused.

velvet ((hugs)) We are intrinsically linked, I think, and whichever of us gets updiffed first, whilst we will be happy for the other, it will be very hard, hey? I have the same problems with February, although the 2 times i've got pg have been then, but I would have liked to avoid it if at all possible. Hope you're feeling ok today xx

This is what I think I have:

  1. My period is really late, but my HPT's are still negative. What's up? For women who chart their fertility: One of the main causes of a delayed period (extra-long luteal phase with high temps) with negative pregnancy tests is a luteal cyst. In a nutshell: when you ovulate, your egg ruptures from a small follicle. This follicle is known as the "corpus luteum" (literally means "yellow body," named for its color, and is the origin of the term "luteal phase.")

Anyway, the corpus luteum produces progesterone. In the event of pregnancy, this progesterone will support the growing embryo until the placenta takes over and makes enough progesterone for itself. Then the corpus luteum shrivels up and stops functioning.

In the event that there is NO pregnancy, the corpus luteum also shrivels up and stops functioning-- ending the luteal phase. The drop in progesterone causes your period to begin.

SOMETIMES, however, there is no pregnancy, but the corpus luteum turns into a small cyst and continues to secrete progesterone long after it's supposed to stop. This is called a luteal cyst, and is responsible for too many false hopes! (Progesterone also causes PMS and pregnancy-like symptoms, such as tender breasts.) If this is the problem, it's simple to resolve (usually a single injection takes care of it) but your doctor needs to see you!

pink am loving the new name. I too am a cheese addict, with favourite ATM being Boursin Poivre.

Hope you all have a lovely day, I've got a busy day and Pilates tonight. I need to relax!

DachshundsWantPuppies · 18/01/2011 08:55

yrmotb Step away from Google - there is a possibility that it could be a cyst, but there is also a possibility that it could be a pg and that the hcg levels just haven't reached the right level to show up on the test yet. FX it's the latter. Even for the same person it is variable how long it will take for the hormone levels to show, so the fact that it might be a day or two later than it has taken before doesn't necessarily mean that you aren't. Give it another couple of days before you start worrying

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 18/01/2011 08:56

dachs of course you are!!!! Soooo sorry, how on earth could I have forgotten you!! If it's any consolation, I fell asleep standing up on the train this morning, so am clearly not at full speed. And mrs, less of this 6.5 years chat, the Oracle clearly said EVERYONE!! Good work on the day off, I hope you have a lovely chilled day.

Also apologies to Kat and hairy, and I think maybe Hadrian who think are all in the ttc#1 gang??

YROMTB I thought we'd had words about using Dr Google???? What sort of test are you using? Worth trying a different brand? Sorry it's so stressful, being in limbo sucks :( (((hugs))) for you xx

Xxxxx

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 18/01/2011 09:02

Also (((dacha))) don't panic about the pee sticks, i torture mself with exactly those sorts of thoughts too, try not to stress yourself out hun! Your dogs are so naughty!! Grin

DachshundsWantPuppies · 18/01/2011 09:09

zam sorry, forgot to ask yesterday - what kind of dachshunds did you have? I'm sorry you had to leave them behind and are missing them - I miss mine horribly when I'm even just on holiday!

Mine (Eric, 8, and Ellie, 5) are miniature long haireds and are the snuggliest huggiest dogs I've ever met. They are great little dogs.

DachshundsWantPuppies · 18/01/2011 09:10

pink Thanks for the stick comfort - I thought I'd get well and truly haddocked!

DachshundsWantPuppies · 18/01/2011 09:15

lurky Cmoo if you're still lurking - I test on 31st, so I'll keep you posted on what the magic sticks say

Ladybee · 18/01/2011 09:32

Hey pink I don't have a clue what that article is all about but will just nod and agree if it means good things.

Am amazed by all these long luteal phases - if I believed in these things I'd wonder whether the full moon was stirring cycles but I don't so I'll just hope that they really do mean that some NGOs are on their way, just bring slow to appear.

mamapower beautiful image, full of love, sadness and hope.

Gotta post before I lose signal - things ok here, got to do more appt chasing so can start heparin but am not thinking about it too much in an effort to lower stress levels which have been rocketing at work.

Ladybee · 18/01/2011 09:33

No not NGOs bfps stupid stupid phone

owlbooty · 18/01/2011 09:52
  • step away from the Evil Google!!

No haddocks for you, dachs , tis so, so easy to feel you might have jinxed things by buying sticks, arranging GP appts, telling people, etc etc etc - I am still trying to train myself to think that it really doesn't matter what I do and it's impossible to jinx anything. Difficult isn't it? By the way, Eric is a fabulous name for a dog :)

Velvet lovely, a tiny sardine coming your way It will happen. And I bet it happens in the next couple of months; statistics are on your side :)

Cheese of the Day: Roquefort. Stinky, stinky, delicious roquefort.

Mamapower · 18/01/2011 09:59
