A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread!

YRMOTB don't panic, all those other people had blatantly tested but were so peeved at the BFN they didn't put it on their chart. Xxx

hadrian · 17/01/2011 19:27

Three cheers for your top quality A-grade eggs dachs!

Sounds like you've made a well informed decison mummya so enjoy and good luck Grin

I am feeling better today but you might need to rustle up a slimy wet haddock for me as I have been imagining pg symptoms all day despite
a) I can't possible have ov'd yet based on what my final follow-up scan showed last week
b) even if I have ov'd the chances of being pg must be tiny due to v cautious SWI
c) even if I was pg there's surely absolutely no way I would have any symptoms within 3-4 days

So I suspect the strange metallic taste in my mouth might actually be due to the half a garlic baguette I put away last night < shares round the rest - slightly stale but still tasty >

Oh I feel like such an amateur...maybe I'm not really in the right headspace to TTC again just yet.

How's the paranoia going orange?

hadrian · 17/01/2011 19:30

Hello pink, thanks for the acupuncture info, will do some investigation. Cheese before biscuits...something has to be going on...?!

CaribouMoo · 17/01/2011 19:32

Hello ladies! Not been on for a few days and just tracked you down here for a quick lurk. Delighted to see the good news for MamaP - well done missus, I am so,so chuffed for you x x

Hope that Velvet and the Babe stop getting mucked about and get some good news soon too. Eggsellent news Dachs (groan) - keeping everything crossed for you pal.

Hope all the lassies are doing well x

ZamMummyInGabs · 17/01/2011 19:43

Just popping in to say belated congratulations to mamap and great news for dachs (we used to have two dachshunds, Starsky & Hutch (!) but left them behind in Zambia with friends and still miss them - they are such great pg companions)

And go go go to mummya :) - liking the idea of the commando inner ho!

Will one of you lovely charters please look at my chart and tell me WTF is going on here? I don't use FF coz started charting when we only had dial-up Biscuit my tcoyf chart

In other news, I am just back from a zen yoga/New Years' intentions weekend in which I actually put "shag at least 2 x a week" as an 'ongoing goal' for the year Blush Thank goodness it wasn't the kind of event where you share goals Bear

DH in bed with stomach bug so can't put into operation just yet, fortunately am 5dpo so at least no shagging rows.
Get your fish ready, with the MC & DS2 I poas at 8DPO & 10DPO respectively - AF not due for another week Grin

OrangeGloss · 17/01/2011 19:52

Nix glad to see you're perky Biscuit Biscuit
same day eh? Ooh I'm more nervous now, is that weird?

Hadrian toilet paranoia and boob prodding are in full force I don't know how ready anyone can be to try again, you're bound to have off-days and a wobble, but that's what we're here for

Pink fx for you testing on Friday and that sneaky witch stays away. I'm currently eating some extra strong Welsh cheddar mmmm

ZamMummyInGabs · 17/01/2011 19:52

PS Just had to say LOVE the link mamap - my DS2 is one, opens fridge, takes several huge bites out of cheddar block, puts back in fridge and slopes off ;-)
Reminds me of my student days Grin
And I am from a place very near to Shropshire...

OrangeGloss · 17/01/2011 20:00

amused me now I'm hungry :)

Emoo · 17/01/2011 21:23

Good evening, lovely ladies!

Hello and welcome to piglet and sorry to hear your news... do your best to enjoy your little girl, but we know how difficult it is when all around you seem to be adding to their families with apparent ease..

Loola - definitely definitely looking very promising indeed, I'd say!

Velvet - also looking very promising! Are we allowed to brandish fishies for people who take too long to test???!!

Dachs - top quality grade 1+ sounds good - fingers crossed they are super-sticky quality too, and enjoy their comfortable voyage across the calm blue seas in your 5* cruise ship!

YRMOTB - gaaahhh logged in to stalk check your chart, and no temp! Glad the RTD staying away. Am I being thick though - isn't the most likely explanation for high temps and no period, erm... being updiffed? And the test is just too early? Hope so.

Wombat - good luck with your test results

MummyA - whahaaayy for frivolous shagging! I think you have made a sensible decision - you have waited a long time already.

MamaP - I hope you are coping with the mixed emotions today. x

Hello to all, hope you're all doing okay, especially all the knicker-checkers and Nix glad you've put yours back on - how can you check 'em if you're not wearing 'em?? Sorry I don't have time for a big catch-up today..

Velvetcu · 17/01/2011 21:34

Apologies for the mememe in advance!

Am feeling very sorry for myself this evening. Have had a little bit more brown (which again, lasted about an hour and has now gone!!). I have backache and am a bit crampy and have all my normal AF symptoms so I know she is coming.

DH was never really bothered about ttc before the mmc but now every month he is asking about my period and when is it baby making time and all that so not only do I feel miserable about not being pg but I now feel like I'm letting him down too! I'm really not looking forward to being on cycle 6!

I also know that there arent a certain number of pgs that can happen at any one time but, as much as I am delighted for all of you updiffeders, I cant help feeling all the storks are out for the time being (just in my neck of the woods - am pretty certain YRMOTB has one in her closet).

Am just ranting coz im obivously pmt'y. Just needed to get it out so I can continue writing a scheme of work for school!

Thankyou all for being wonderful :)

Emoo · 17/01/2011 21:42

Aaahhh Velvet, so sorry... hope you are wrong, but you know your body better than I do (I'm still carrying a flame of hope for you though, but will slap myself with that fishie if I'm wrong). You're not the only one whose mind it has crossed that this thread might have been just a little tooo lucky recently - I hope there is some luck left for the rest of us!

BackOnceAgain · 17/01/2011 21:43

Hey who ate all the fresh bread and butter!? Biatch! Wink

there's a FF phone app?!! Sold! (Its ok, keep carbing it up, bean must want it, plasticness and all!)

Orange love love love pimp my snack, havent' looked at it for while but I remembered the HUGE creme egg experiment. Brilliant.

pink yes v sweet of your dh. Mine IS lovely too of course but just crap with dates (any dates!)

Speaking of he, must go and give some undivided attention to him, he's been working v hard bless...

BackOnceAgain · 17/01/2011 21:45

(Xposts sorry velvet hope you feel better tomorrow Sad )

PinkRabbitFood · 17/01/2011 21:52

Hey zam your weekend sounds fab! Hahaha would have been v. funny if you'd all had to share intentions, you'd just have had to have made one up! :) Are you sure your DS2 isn't actually related to me??? DH was v. pissed off to find the remains of my frenzied cheese-eating-in-car incident in the fridge Grin

Hello to you too emoo hope things are good with you too at the mo!

(((velvet))) try not to feel like you're letting DH down because you're really not - I'm just trying to cling onto the random 15% chance every month thing, I find it a bit reassuring.

Urhghghg just got off the phone to yet another friend who's started TTC their first - that's the second in as many days that is distraught that their period turned up after TTC for 1 month..... I am starting to feel like the old wise one that asks them questions that they never saw coming like "how many pee sticks did you go through this month" and then they are worried that I'm watching them Grin I have pointed them all in the direction of Amazon - at least my experiences over the last year can save them from having to remortgage the house to pay for millions of one-off pee sticks from Boots!! I feel a bit evil for telling them I've been trying for a year now - I can completely understand how hopeful they feel and that they feel like all exciting and new and shiney, as I felt like that too, but actually now I feel more chilled now that I've stopped expecting a BFP every single month. Just feel a bit :( that I'm not sharing my experience of TTC mentalling with a big fat belly as a badge of honour rather than my assorted battle scars.....

Mamapower · 17/01/2011 21:54

awww velvet I hope the rant helped, that's what we're here for, I hope she's not turning up and am still hoping for you x

We have the most perfectly still calm night and our wish lanterns went up and up forever! It was a nice way to remember and it was almost like we were able to say a goodbye!

Sorry for short post, catch up in the morning Smile

PinkRabbitFood · 17/01/2011 21:59

Geek alert geek alert geek alert....

This goes out to all you girlies that are worried the thread has been too lucky: here's the science bit

Mr Poisson helpfully tells us that as long as BFPs are Poisson distributed (I reckon they are....), the chances of each one happening is independent of the time since the last event. WHOOP!!! So you can't have too many in a row!

I'll just get my coat now (I've left some Natural Confectionary Company Dino Mixes on the side - I've eaten so many this evening my teeth are starting to itch)......... Grin Grin

MummyAbroad · 17/01/2011 22:18

Love it Pink Grin especially how the events are called "arrivals"Grin

I have another theory though, that we all every single thread member are going to get BFP's one by one before the end of March. Not quite sure why I feel that, but I just do.

PinkRabbitFood · 17/01/2011 22:25

Hahaha mummya all ties together with the stork theory too then?! AWESOME the oracle has spoken, and I know for a fact that mummya knows everything about everything - she really does, ask her ANYTHING especially about TTC - so I am feeling well chuffed! BFP before end of March sounds fabulouso to me! Grin

Velvetcu · 17/01/2011 22:26

I think that's another thing I'm worried about - I thought due date would be the end of "date watch" but it's not is it.

I got pg in March last year so I don't want that to happen again coz I feel like that's a bad month for me :( Besides, I reckon I'll be here the longest, anyone want to start betting?

Somebody needs to tell me to shut up and stop being miserable! Grin

hadrian · 17/01/2011 22:26

mamap that is a beautiful image and makes me glad there can be such sad but special moments in all this heartache.

pink that takes me back to my days as a stats student, I am an uber geek at heart

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 17/01/2011 22:29

mamap I'm glad your lanterns went well, I hope you had a nice evening in spite of the date.

velvet I know how you feel but you're going to be fine - the mmc didn't happen because of the month, and if you get updiffed again in March fingers crossed it will bring you nothing but happiness this time. You're not going to be here the longest, I'll be holding your hand xx

Do you like my new name? It makes me hungry again though so it's probably not ideal...

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 17/01/2011 22:31

hadrian I found another one about Maximum Likelihood Estimation of the chances of getting pregnant but I thought I would limit myself to sharing only one statistical link a night Grin

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 17/01/2011 22:33

It's not as good as nix's new name Grin - so you're quite chuffed with your new norky norks then??? hehehe

loola2shus · 17/01/2011 22:43

Loola wants to marry emoo feels like you are my guardian angel looking after me! I was so pleased this morning but have very low crampyish feeling tonight and was uber bitch from hell yesterday! It does look pretty though doesn't it Grin

mamap pleased tonight went well!

Cheesy I love it! How may days podt ov are you? I need chart to compare.... I@m sure we are within a few CDs of each other but I was a late ov'a!

((velvet))
