A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 25/01/2011 15:13

. I'm good at the minute, thanks. The weekend and cd1 were as ever completely depressing but I'm over that now and feeling quite positive about a new cycle. How're you? And what's your dr playing at?!! You're doing well to hold it together waiting for him to get his act together - hope you're not letting it stress you out x

MummyAbroad · 25/01/2011 15:47

glad you're feeling in a better mood, horrible to have happiness tied to our cycles isnt it? I'm not really holding it together, impatience is my middle name. I would give anything to know NOW NOW NOW! I am full of good thoughts for the doctor though, this is the American one who has never treated me, but is reviewing my case for free.

Wombat33 · 25/01/2011 15:51

Hi all. V quick one to get your views. I got my second blood test result. The first was 14/01/11 - 24,041 iu/L, then a week later: 21/01/11 - 68,911 iu/L. What do you think?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 25/01/2011 15:55

Umm...I have no idea of the science wombat but that looks bloody impressive?

cep · 25/01/2011 16:00

wombat sounds good to me, How far along are you?

mummya still not heard, have you tried innocently contacting them to ensure they have it?

izzy glad you're feeling better now.

jaffacake79 · 25/01/2011 16:04

Hi, anyone mind if I join in here?
I've an 8yr old dd from my previous marriage, dh and I have been ttc for 3 yrs now, have had 5 m/c's in that time with no discernable reason why. Have been signed off from consultant as all tests performed are "normal", so are just floating along really.
Getting rather fed up of it tbh and am right slap bang in the middle of a baby boom!

owlbooty · 25/01/2011 16:09

Womble I think that has gone up. Grin Going up is good. How are you feeling, my lovely? Calmer? I do hope so.

Jaffacake very sorry you have had to join us and also that you've had such a rotten time ttc, but please do make yourself right at home

jaffacake79 · 25/01/2011 16:14

Thanks Owlbooty, was just discussing wine and cheese elsewhere so that'll go down a treat! Especially as it's virtual and I'm trying to get my bmi down. Bah humbug!

We're kind of stuck for what else to do, apart from the obvious keep trying, as being signed off feels a bit of a final - there's nothing we can do iykwim?

Ladybee · 25/01/2011 16:19

wombat just went on a chart hunt and found this from upper thread

gestational weeks range in mUL/mL
1.3-2 16-156
2-3 101-4870
3-4 1110-31500
4-5 2560-82300 is this you?
5-6 23100-151000 or this?
6-7 27300-233000
7-11 20900 -291000
11-16 6140-103000
16-21 4720-80100
21-39 2700-78100

Looks like you're nicely in range. I think I remember reading the doubling slows down to every 3 days so seems pretty spot on. So are your symptoms increasing with the hcg? Be interesting to know as it obviously doesn't seem to be that if you have less sympts your hcg levels are necessarily any lower.

Ladybee · 25/01/2011 16:24

Jaffa where did you get tested? And have you spoken to the girls on the testing testing thread over on miscarriage board? There are several there whose tests where apparently normal but found out other things when pursued further.
Hello by the way Smile

cep · 25/01/2011 16:25

jaffacake welcome, sorry you have to join us. Poor thing you have had an awful time haven't you. You talk about getting your bmi down, are you very over weight? i'm about 6 stone over. When i spoke to the m/c dr after having had the bad news she told me it was likely i'd only fallen pg because i'd lost a stone first. i have since nearly gained all of it again in the month that followed.[bsad] Am again trying to attack it.

Wombat33 · 25/01/2011 16:42

Jaffa welcome to this lovely lovely thread. I'm so sorry you've suffered so many losses and have the frustration of not knowing why. Hopefully some of these lovely ladies will be able to give you some useful info and it's a great place to be for support while ttc. I hope your stay is short for the right reasons!

Owl, Cep, Izzy and Lady thanks for the encouragement (and for hunting out those stats Lady!)!! I'm now 7+2 by LMP (6+6 by my own claculaltions) so when I had the tests done I was 5+3 and 6+3 (or 3+3 and 4+3 on the basis of gestational age for the stats chart Lady found). On that basis it looks like I'm in range Smile I'm feeling reassured but still a bit anxious as you can imagine Blush Lady* in answer to your question, after a week of no symptoms, the week after I had my first blood test I was feeling more nauseous, but then the last few days I've been feeling better again. I keep telling myself that it means nothing as I had good levels for the first test when I felt fine, but am still going to be bricking it for the scan on Thursday [wibble emoticon] Smile

MummyAbroad · 25/01/2011 16:44

wombat I tried this for you: www.babymed.com/hcg-calculator

but it wont do above 23 DPO - you were 24 right?

But it does confirm that double is good. Grin

"Between 1,200 and 6,000 mIU/ml serum, the hCG usually takes about 72-96 hours to double, and above 6,000 mIU/ml, the hCG often takes over four or more days to double."

MummyAbroad · 25/01/2011 16:48

welcome jaffa sorry for your losses. I am also on the Recurrant Buns testing thread. Theres lots of info swapping going on over there that might help. Not that I am kicking you off here though - these ladies are fab with the virtual tissues/wine glass/choccies !Grin

Wombat33 · 25/01/2011 16:50

Thanks Mummya!! I think I need to keep telling myself that as of last Friday things seemed okay Grin

jaffacake79 · 25/01/2011 16:51

Wombat! Congratulations Grin

All my testing was done at Addenbrookes. I've not looked around on here much yet as I'm a newbie, but I'll take a look on the thread you mention. Have had genetic comparisons done, all the normal clotting factors and other non-invasive investigations done by a mc specialist. Both he and the regular fertility cons have signed us off.
I'm about 4 st overweight! Boohoo, but have just started slimming world with 2 very good friends who are helping me along. I will get there, to prove a point, and when I'm still not pg will go back to the cons and tell him "SEE!" horrid little man.
Thanks everyone for the welcome.

Wombat33 · 25/01/2011 16:54

Jaffa you'll find this is a multi-purpose support thread - we've got a weight loss programme[s] going on the side (though I'm not currently participating) - everything you could ever wish for on one shiney thread Grin

Wombat33 · 25/01/2011 16:58

Mummya I'm sending hurry up and respond vibes to the lovelyt American free doctor for your results!!

Sending good vibes for this cycle to Izzy too. Still have a good feeling about you chica - it won't be long Wink

HUGGGGGGE (((((HUGS))))) to Dachs and Velvet and anyone ellse who needs them.

I seemed to miss out on the earlier action so random snogs for Cep Grin Grin Grin

cep · 25/01/2011 17:09

jaffacake there are a few on here losing weight, i'm doing slimming world as well although am doing it at home and not going to the meetings anymore. I've got 4lb left to lose to get re-rid of that stone. Good Luck, we're here to support you through all of it. [bgrin]

oooooh wombat lots of snogs back, but i still refuse to lick someones ear...... no offense. [bgrin]

For the last 3 days i've had periody type aches/pains on my right hand side, unless i'm having a super short cycle is really early for that. Don't remember having it before, not this soon, but am being super sensitive now i'm tracking everything.

Wombat33 · 25/01/2011 17:12

Ooh Cep how many dpo are you?

cep · 25/01/2011 17:15

No idea, I didn't start charting till my fertile time and i had 1 normal temp then it went sky high, but i keep having disturbed nights so am unsure if actually correct. is all over the place.

see

Wombat33 · 25/01/2011 17:22

Hummm, well in which case I will just have to keep everything crossed for you in the old fashioned blind hope kind of way :)

cep · 25/01/2011 17:27

[bgrin] that's always my response as well wombat i was thinking should have been on the 20th (cd14) but temp's lead me to think 12th in which case we dtd the day after or 4 days before, so am thinking just random lets keep her guessing aches.
