A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread!

Sad Dachs, you sound really down today but it's not over for you yet this month. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

HKB - good luck with your news from doc today.

Loola - I will join you on the headache front, feels liek mine will explode.

Well, I am officially still in a horrid mood and only managed a few grunts at dh this morning, I hate feeling so miserable. I am staying in bed for most of the day which is making me miserable in itself as it means I miss a days work and therefore a very much needed £50 Sad which is making me feel guilty/stressed. But I can not motivate myself to move and I have still have period pains.

I actually think I might have a word with a gp soon about my very up and down days. I wonder if I am depressed. Feels weird writing that down as I have been trying to explain my feelings of despair days away and making excuses for them.

cep · 24/01/2011 08:47

dach The website i read about the cm said about implantation pains being about 7-10 days. others said 6-10 days. Do you mind if i ask if you're entitled to ivf on the nhs where you are?? I can't begin to imagine what you go through for the ivf treatment. You need to do what you feel is best for you, and if that's taking a break for a while before trying again then do that. What ever you decide know we're here for you. I hope you're wrong about the limited number i'm due to test 3 days after you.

As the saying goes it's not over until the fat lady sings, and i ain't singing yet.

DachshundsWantPuppies · 24/01/2011 08:56

cep I can't get IVF on the NHS here. I was too young (they wouldn't give it until you were 35), now they've changed the rules and I'm too old (they won't give it if you're 35 or older when the baby is due). I was 35 in November so I missed out.

I know I'm just feeling down because of all the hormonal crap, and I'm sorry for unloading, it's just that you guys are all so great and nobody else I know understands.

I'm sorry I just keep doing me me me posts :(

DachshundsWantPuppies · 24/01/2011 08:59

chloe I was worried that I was depressed after a meltdown I had after the first lot of IVF. When I asked the doctor she took one look at my notes and said it wasn't true, it was just that the hormones in my body needed to settle down after the IVF as the drugs I'd been on would have affected me. Anyone TTC, exsepcially with any form of medical intervention, is likely to have lots of ups and downs and they're probably just bad days rather than depression, but clearly if you're worried then ask your GP. Despair doesn't necessarily equal depression.

Ladybee · 24/01/2011 09:01

Hi just a quick note on train, nickster sweetheart good luck for scan today I hope everything is as it should be.

dachs, loola, Chloe, yrmotb you ladies are being put through the mill a bit at the moment, really really hope there is good thing at the end of the waiting, wish I could make it easier for you.

This is a big week for lots of us, deep breath everyone, hold tight it's bound to be a bumpy ride.

cep · 24/01/2011 09:06

dach that's awful. but bloody typical. Don't appologise about unloading, we all do it and that's what we're here for. and the same for the mememe posts, i do loads of them, and i'm terrible at remembering all the posts so am sure i forget most of the news and worries. hmmm starting to wonder what i do actually bring to this thread. Confused Blush

chloe agree with dachs, but speak to your gp to satisfy your mind.

owlbooty · 24/01/2011 09:40

Morning lovelies :)

Dachs so sorry you're feeling crappy. Don't give up hope just yet

Bee and Nicks I also have (irritatingly expensive private) scan this week due to standing-on-head misbehaving Owlet at NHS scan last week - for nuchal fold test. We want good scans for all! Wombat when is your next blood test result due?

Loola that chart looks promising, fingers firmly crossed :)

Chloe sorry you too are feeling shite; hopefully the reward will make it worth all the ClomidRage in the end. I know a fair few people who have said exactly the same things about it. Definitely talk to your GP. If nothing else, having a massive wail in their office may prove to be a big relief (I have done it on several occasions now) :)

YRMOTB if only I had a crystal ball I could give you :(

Emoo · 24/01/2011 09:49

Good morning everyone, and what a busy week we are going to have...! Hope Loola and YRMOTB get some answers soon (charts still looking promising, ladies, Loola, get a flippin' proper peestick, please!), MummyA gets an uplifting answer from the man in America, and Nix and ? Ladybee have lovely reassuring scans.

Cep - sorry the charting is not working for you yet. Don't worry, it will probably improve. I know this is daft, but I pre-warm my thermometer before I use it, just by putting it under the duvet next to my skin for 5 mins. Seems to make things more consistent for me.

Izzy - gutted for you too. I really hoped it would be your month. Fingers crossed for next time. Try not to stress too much about being on cycle 7 - remember it takes a normally functioning couple up to a year. And with us all starting counting again after MC, having had goodness knows how many unlucky cycles before that, even though it feels crap, you're not alone.

Hadrian - Thailand sounds lovely. Jealous (in a nice way).

Choccy - well done for deciding to enjoy life and stop obsessing. I wish I could do the same, in a way.

Lily - charting is ace when it works, and extremely frustrating when it doesn't. Have a go, see if it works for you. Even if you decide not to continue, you will have learned something about your body.

Chloe - sorry you're up and down - sounds likely to be hormones. Depression you tend to be down and stay down for weeks on end. Try to give yourself permission to feel odd and angry, and you might feel better about it.

Dachs - Angry on your behalf at the changing IVF goalposts. Hope it's implantation pains too. You deserve a bit of luck.

Hope that things are going well for MamaP, Orange, Wombat, Ladybee, Pink, HK, owl, and you are all managing to keep the fear at arms length.

As for me - temp 37.2 again after yesterday's too-early 37.0. And today - definitely no alcohol, no movement, normal time, and I was completely starkers in bed save for my bedsocks (yes, I know, I am sooo sexy!). 10 dpo today, absolutely no symptoms, but a beautiful (if I may say so) chart. However, magpie-viewing has not been in my favour this last week, AF due Thursday, so I'm not optimistic! And I have a big zit right in the middle of my forehead.

Wombat33 · 24/01/2011 10:07

Ooh Emoo that is an exciting chart! FX

Thanks to the lovely ladies who've asked after me. I'm 7 wks now and this weekend marked the stage at which I lost it last time around so had been rather anxious. Sypmtoms still coming and going. I have everything crossed for blood test results tomorrow (or poss weds) and [private hopefully nerve alleviating!] scan on Thurs. Am mostly currently worrying that high HCG result last time meant chomosomal issues. I'm always worrying about something Blush

Good luck for HSG results Mummya!! FX they are lovely and clear!

Good luck too for second scan Owl. It may be expensive but tis another opportunity to gaze at Owlet Smile

Chole so sorry the rage has got you. hopefully it's only for a short time and will be so worth it in the end xxx

Chloe55 · 24/01/2011 10:08

Thanks everyone, you are all undoubtedly right of course Wink It's just so worrying and prob hideous for the rest of my family to see me like this for days on end then a few days of being 'normal, happy go lucky Chloe' then a total bitch again. I know they feel like they are walking on eggshells. I just wish I could do something about it Sad

Dachs - that is bloody Sod's Law re your IVF! Angry

cep · 24/01/2011 10:31

Thanks emoo i just wish i'd started taking my temps before my fertile time so i knew the difference. oh well next month will hopefully be a bit more accurate, as i know i'm not pg this month.

lily06 · 24/01/2011 10:44

Thanks for the advice about charting everyone. I've bought the thermometer and registered on fertility friend. Busy inputting previous cycles etc which is at least taking my mind off things.

cep · 24/01/2011 11:46

orange hope your first day back at work is going ok.

Chloe55 · 24/01/2011 12:11

Have spoken to the nurse at the hospital who was lovely, even though I cried on her Blush Anyway, she has suggested everything I am feeling is probably the Clomid side effects but to go straight to a&e if my pains become unbearable (I guess she is thinking hyperstimulation of the ovaries) - pains are not unbearable though so most likely just side effects. I guess dh and I have to discuss whether we can go down this route again next month if this month is a write off. Hey ho...

cep · 24/01/2011 12:13

chloe good to know it is normal. is it something that might ease as your body gets used to the drug?

youremindmeofthebabe · 24/01/2011 12:22

Raaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sorry, just had to get that one out! Temps still up although have dropped slightly. OPK's (only things left in house) are Negative. Brown cm and pink cm in tiny amounts over the weekend, and I am officially now past caring. I'm not pregnant, of that I am sure, I just want the bloody AF to start so I can begin again! I need to get on with cycle 7. I'm going for the sperm meets egg plan too this month, can't remember who was saying that too?

dachs ((hugs)) we all know how shitty this ttc lark can be, so we always here for you if you want us.

chloe sorry you're having a shit time of it. It won't be for long, but it can seem like forever. Sad

owl thanks for the crystal ball offer. Maybe I should invent one? Good luck for your nuchal fold scan this week.

wombat good luck for everything you've got this week too.

loola you need to poas on something designed for to find pregnancy!Grin(pot kettle black)

emoo my skin has taken a massive breakout overnight, so not hopeful here. I am nearly 31, why do I have the skin of a spotty hormonal teenager??

izz is day 2 better than day 1? ((hugs)). I 'm actually looking forward to joining you!

Waves to all, velvet, nix cep biscuit mamap mrespv mummya zammum orange pink and everyone else i've missed, so sorry.

cep · 24/01/2011 12:39

yrmotb Is it thursday you have your dr app?? Is it normal for your cycle to last this long?

on a temp topic again (sorry 1 track mind at the mo) when i did temping before last pregnancy i was 96.8 almost everyday so i put in those temps for the 4-5 days before i did start temping (have removed now.) and it put a dotted line in that showed i'd ov'd on cd12. So am pretty convinced have missed ov. Sad

youremindmeofthebabe · 24/01/2011 12:49

Ah, cep try not to worry. My temps can fluctuate by 0.2 monthly, so I wouldn't bet your bottom dollar on having missed it, or even on those temps being accurate for this month. Maybe Take those temps out and start charting your CM. what about a cervix check too?

No, not this long. I am currently on day 42, and ov'd on day 20. Unheard of and very uncommon. I usually have a 33day cycle, ish.

cep · 24/01/2011 13:11

I've been doing the cm, but am a novice at recognising it and the same with cervix. Have started understanding the cm a bit more. i'll get there it's only cycle one so am learning. I keep doing it throughout the whole cycle so i can tell the difference. thanks yrmotb

If you're absolutely convinced you're not pg, what do you think it is? could it be stress??

youremindmeofthebabe · 24/01/2011 13:25

I don't really do stressGrin. I'm not really a dweller, a lot of the time. Although it's starting to irritate me now!

I reckon it will get better, takes a couple months to get into the swing of things anyway.

cep · 24/01/2011 13:36

Am just about to go out so a quickie. Just tested cm and there was a glo,b definately cm, (was dry this morning and yesterday) but glob was a bit bloody, is this normal???

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 24/01/2011 15:11

cep that could indicate ov I think...

yrmotb what an insane and completely bloody frustrating time you're having!! I am still refusing to give up on your bfp, but if not then I hope af hurries up for you. It's not so bad on cycle 7

Grin

Its a wriggler Grin Grin Grin

Happy days over here xxxx

Didnt behave for the nuchal measurement, so we either go privately or just have bloods done at 16 weeks. TBH am more inclined to do that...! The sonographer couldnt see a particularly thick neck bit anyway, will see.

So relieved, cried all the way out of the hospital and all the way home. I really feel like the roller coaster has stopped for a short break, and that we have achieved the first milestone with flying colours.

(((((hugs)))) to all who need them today and i promise for a proper catch up later on xxxxx
