A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread!

Chloe no there's no reason to have an increased chance of multiples, no fertility treatment and no family history. I think it's very unlikely!! Though agree with Pink it would be amazing - not sure how I'd cope though! I'm more concerned it's indicative of chromosomal problems (which I am at particularly high risk of, possibly >50%) but I'm just hoping for the moment that it's simply a normal pg and I happen to have levels at the higher end of normal. Another blood test on Fri, results Tues next week, so we'll see what that shows. Also, I've just booked a private viability scan for next Thurs!!! That's a big leap of faith for me because I will be 7+5 by LMP and I MC last time at 7 wks exactly... fingers crossed I make it to the scan!!

lily06 · 19/01/2011 11:27

Pink - funny that, I did the same. No-one even knew we were TTC let alone that I was pg, but told everyone about the EP and the MC. I think somehow telling people makes it easier to deal with.

I've not even told my mum about TTC this time - she wasn't keen on the idea before, and will be even less so after the last 12 months.

Velvet - that doesn't seem very fair. Is there any way you can get a face-to-face meeting with your head of dept to explain how much its affecting you?

DachshundsWantPuppies · 19/01/2011 12:18

OK Blush I know it's far too early but do you think brown discharge (v slight) this morning could be implantation spotting? Technically it would be 7 dpo today if it wasn't an IVF cycle... SOMEONE HADDOCK ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DachshundsWantPuppies · 19/01/2011 12:21

This next two weeks is going to make me totally mental - I'm trying so hard to forget all about it, but it is filling every waking minute of my thoughts!

I know the spotting is more likely to be just a bit more blood from the collection procedure, but it's tantalisingly close to the right dates for implantation (although i think it's about 1 day early based on the transfer date :( )

DachshundsWantPuppies · 19/01/2011 12:24

velvet sorry you're having work troubles - hope your boss gets a bit more understanding soon

DachshundsWantPuppies · 19/01/2011 12:24

wombat Triplets - hmm... Twins logistically easier, but you wouldn't have to worry about the TTC crap again for a while! :)

Natalie2011 · 19/01/2011 13:00

velvet i'm a hod in a school and the fact that you are doing the absent colleagues work is not on. it's your hod's job to sort stuff out wheen people are off, they can ask for a bit of help if they have a nice team, but the amount of work you are doing does not sound good. ask him if you are setting the same amount of cover work as him? maybe start setting shitter cover work. i hope you're not actually covering the classes, as teachers are now protected from doing this and you should report this to your union if this is happening. you need t look after yourslef, after all, it's only a job. if it's getting on top you you - stuff it, take a few more days off, that'll teach them for giving you too much to do.

this probably hasn't helped at all, it just pisses me off when people take advantage of other peoples kindness.

BiscuitChart · 19/01/2011 13:08

i just changed my name cos it made me giggle Grin

Chloe55 · 19/01/2011 13:35

Dachs - it could be I guess Smile

I have a slight blood stained cm when I wiped today - think I am a bit too early to ovulate - I am on cd12, what do we think?

Wombat33 · 19/01/2011 13:36

Oh Dachs I hope so! and I refuse to haddock you because I know the wait must be murder! Big hugs. We're here to listen to you vent your frustration any time you like!

biscuitchart I take it you're aka Natalie rather than being choccy (our other biscuit loving thread member)?

Wombat33 · 19/01/2011 13:37

How long are your usual cycles chloe?

MummyAbroad · 19/01/2011 13:58

Morning all!

Izz Its going pretty well thanks! DH has come up trumps this month and is being all enthusiastic in the bedroom and we are even managing to keep it romantic and fun! (I think all the arguing discussions over New Year helped resolve all the big issues. Flu has made my chart uninterpretable but I dont really mind (yet) because after hearing about bee and pink not temping and feeling better for it, I think it might have its advantages not to "know" Or maybe I am just quietly confident because I am getting a scan tomorrow so will have very detailed follicle information Grin Place your bets now if you think I have ov'd. I will let you know after the scan!

HSG results have been sent (physically in the post - turns out you cant scan them) to the States for an expert second opinion. Probably wont hear back for 4/5 days. Post is shit from Costa Rica.

Biscuit Chart who are you?

Dach MUST be implantation. You are getting diffed this month, remember? Wink Grin

apple 20 weeks! wow! Its really nice to hear there IS a point you can get to when someone says "Its OK now, you can relax and enjoy" I am made up for you Smile

YRMOTB The fertility bible says 18 days of high temps = diffed. Things are looking really good lady Grin

Zam I am another one far from decent cheese

sorry for the selective catch up, you know I love you ALL really !!! xxxxx

Chloe55 · 19/01/2011 14:02

They are very random Wombat, prob due to my PCOS so can be anywhere between 28-42 days!! This is my first cycle of Clomid and although my AF was just as horrendously heavy it was only for 5 days instead of the usual drawn out 8/9 so I am hoping the Clomid might be working and is regulating me somewhat. The consultant said to BD on cd14 and every other day post that (I have BD twice this week though just to be on the safe side) but he kinda made me think I wouldn't ovulate before cd14. Have just googled though and it seems that quite a few women do so I wonder if I am. Couldn't tell whether the CM was eggwhite or semen though Blush

God, isn't it funny how we openly tell each other our cycles but I wouldn't dream of discussing this with RL friends and if I mention it to DH he pulls a face like he is gonna be sick Grin He just can't do CM/periods!!

Mamapower · 19/01/2011 14:11

Thanks for re-assuance wombat & AR

Lily We have told all those who I/we need if it all goes wrong... our inner circle if you like; all close family, siblings, parents and about 4 or 5 of our closest friends who all supported us through our mc and the depression that followed my chemical Pregnancy. I have so many family gatherings anyway, I'd be busted in a second for lack of alcohol intake Grin

Wombat33 · 19/01/2011 14:27

Chloe - it could be - it's not that far out of you're on course for a 28 day cycle. I'm not sure about the effects of Clomid but I'd say keep up the SWI and we'll keep everything crossed!

cep · 19/01/2011 14:41

hi all (sorry mostly a mememe post again)

i'm assuming biscuitchart is Natalie as she was the original b charter. Smile

izzy i'm not a hundred percent as pre mc my cycles were all over the place, i used a ovulation calendar on my longest and shortest cycles and it shows tomorrow is the ov day for my longest cycle.

Sorry to be tmi but been testing my cm to see if i can tell a change and to my very beginner eyes looks like it was egg whitey today but my opk is still negative. yesterday there was a faint line but too faint to be positive and today there wasn't another line at all. i just don't know whether to forget the blasted opk's they've never shown a positive. i test at approx 14:00 everyday.

MummyAbroad · 19/01/2011 14:52

Hi cep I am not getting positives (or any lines) on OPK's this month either - exasperating! I am testing twice a day, as I know my LH surge is short. Have you tried with FMU? I think the instructions on the packets are misleading because the surge can start at any time of day or night, so its worth experimenting with different times. At least FMU is more "concentrated" Are you using dirt cheap tests? I have bought two different kinds from Amazon and found that not all brands are equal. Generally is the wider the strip, the better the quality.

xxxx

cep · 19/01/2011 15:39

mummya the fmu (if i'm remembering correctly) is really expensive. dh rolls his eyes at buying the cheapy opk tests. They are really cheap (and narrow) from ebay someone on another thread swore by them. should i test morning and afternoon then? although i remember before doing them in the morning and again negative. to be honest i'm not buying anymore after i've used these up.

Were you testing before?? if so were you getting positive results then??

i just don't know enough(anything) about this stuff and keep getting confused. what with the egg white, temp hiking up and then a negative not sure if i'm oving or not, but as i've only just started ff there's not enough data for it to make a prediction yet. hopefully tomorrows temp will help.

Velvetcu · 19/01/2011 15:43

cep i didnt get on with the opks either so stopped using them after the first month. Some people (myself included) get a ovulation dip in temperature the day before they ovulate so that could explain it?

I fancy something crunchy - can't decide whether it's crisps or biscuits but I know it's definately not carrots or apples! Am being very restrained though coz I've been on the scales today and have lost 6lbs in 2 weeks :)

owlbooty · 19/01/2011 15:52

Afternoon lovelies :)

I've been for my '12' week scan today at 11+3 & the little 'un is booting around in there - good news - but refused to behave for the nuchal test - bad news - as decided it would be far more fun to stand on head instead. So I am having another (private) scan next Thurs as the NHS will only give it one 20 minute attempt.

Expensive bean! But I am now officially going to stop stressing.

Velvet bloody hell, 6lb! Nice work :)

Massive, MASSIVE hoorah for all the lovely BFPs - what a brilliant surprise when I logged in :) Right; who's next?

KnitterNotTwitter · 19/01/2011 15:53

Hey wonderful ladies
Just doing a periodic check-in to see the latest news and let you know that I am still here.
CONGRATULATIONS to the BFP's SO happy for you all...

MummyAbroad · 19/01/2011 15:57

cep I think we have our acronyms mixed up. I should learn to talk in proper English again Grin I meant First Morning Urine, otherwise known as the first pee of the day. The theory is its more concentrated so any hormones in there will show up more easily. You can "fake" it by saving up a wee for 4 hours too (but bit hard to do!)

I have had positives on OPK's and discovered quite quickly that OPK's can be really misleading because they didnt do what I expected them to. I chart and check fanjo and stuff too, so its only by putting all the evidence together that I get an idea of whats going on. OPK's alone just arent trust worthy. To give you an example, I got a nice clear positive and then a temp rise and all the other signs 3 days later. I was extreemly stressed though, so I think this was a clear case of stress delaying ovulation.

Its hard when its early days and you dont have a lot of info and you are desperate to know whats going on! I think you will have to wait until you have more data before you can really start drawing conclusions. Its only really with hindsight that you can do good interpretations of whats happened, I think its impossible to accurately "predict" ovulation, but you can definitely be sure when it has happened IYSWIM. So, have you tried checking your cervix yet? If it is still high, open and soft, then the game is still on Grin

MummyAbroad · 19/01/2011 16:01

velvet 6 pounds! well done!

owl great news!! I dont believe much in nuchals anymore after the NHS scared me silly with DS, I had amniocentisis and all was fine! So glad bean is doing summersaults and handstands as beanies should Smile

Velvetcu · 19/01/2011 16:05

great news owl i can feel the relief oozing off you through my screen! Hopefully you can enjoy it a bit more now :)

hi knitter hope you are well

cep · 19/01/2011 16:07

velvet 6lbs that's great well done. When i was kinda temping before last pg it was always around 96.8 i'll just have to keep going and hopefully it'll all become clear.

owl so please for the great scan. Grin
