Aw Flick, I'm so sorry things are so rotten for you. We'll miss you at The Three Follicles, but it sounds like you're making the right choice in taking a break and chilling for a bit. We'll keep your seat warm for you until you feel ready to come back.

Josie yea for the big boss getting a taste of her own medicine!

DH and I both made it to work and back yesterday without too much trouble, though it took a long time because there was no way we were going near the trains. Today the snow's melting very fast, and I can't decide whether to cheer or pout.

Not much going on here. My boobs are still a bit sore, but they're not getting any sorer. I guess time will tell. In the meantime, I'm feeling probably a bit too free to drink. Xmas Hmm

Afternoon everyone, blimey where has the week gone!

I have pretty much finished my Christmas shopping now which is good, few things coming through the post. Have reduced the amount of people I buy for but I still reckon I will have spent around the £500 mark once I'm done! Crazy isn't it but this year I've focussed on buying less but spending a little more so people get stuff that is useable or that they really want so that I dont stretch myself out buying crap that no-one is interested in so I'm quite pleased with my purchases.

Snow is nearly all gone from round my way, we've had rain on and off all day so mostly washed away.

Glad you got to pack up early yesterday Josie - always a nice feeling. My boss hasn't been in so I skived off an hour early yesterday too.

Tomboy you are only a day behind me and my boobs are a bit sore, primarily my nipples. However, I've had a pain in my lower back which always means ERTD is going to happen I reckon so not holding out any hope whatsoever. Going to test Monday after next I think but have a feeling I might get a 28 dayer rather than 30 + which would be good as it means I would probably next ov on Christmas eve/Christmas day!! Awesome BFP that would result in!

garden did you hoist the flag after? No shagging for me at the moment, DP has put his back out, we tried it the other morning and he ended up in agony! At least I ovulated the week before or I would have been mega miffed. Xmas Grin

Hi to everyone else, I'm off to order my mega sainsbury's Christmas shop!!!!

CaveMum · 04/12/2010 22:13

Hello all, just quickly stopping by after a busy few days.

Flick if yuo are still around sorry to hear that you are feeling the pressure, but taking time out is probably the best thing. I have cut back quite a lot on my mumsnetting and I do feel a little more positive for it.
We put so much pressure on ourselves that we tend to end up obsessively comparing ourselves to everyone else.

We'll miss you, but hope to see you soon.

womanly the website I have been using (unsuccessfully so far) to get designer discounts is cocosa.com. It says that you need to be invited to koin, but it let me sign up without any hitches.

Last night DH and I attended his Christmas Ball which was great fun. They had something I have never come across before - a silent disco.

You enter the room and are presented with a set of headphones. You have a choice of two channels (in our case cheesey music or more up to date dance music) and select which ever you like and just dance.
It is very surreal to walk into a room with no music and see everyone dancing but it was very funny. Some people were signing along to their music which just added to the surrealness.

Much fun all round!

Happy weekend all!

Hello everyone

Crikey it's Sunday, I'm sure last time I checked it was only Tuesday ...

How are you all? Hope you're well and enjoying some time off.

Cavey glad you enjoyed the ball!

Tomboy I do you hope all your symptoms are progressing nicely ... and I think you should indulge in a spot of drinking because it won't be long until you go off the stuff Xmas Wink

Tiger sorry you are busy AND poorly Xmas Sad I hope you are feeling better. And there's still time to be pg for Christmas ... fingers crossed Xmas Grin

Raspberry your poor DH! I hope he is feeling better! Mr G and I have been hoisting the flag diligently; my consultant has told me we need to "be romantic" (PMSL at that euphemism) twice yesterday and twice today [exhausted emoticon]

All well in the garden household - the snow is melting so I made it out for a run for the first time in a few days and now feel justified in drinking a lot of wine really healthy.

I have my next consultant's appt tomorrow morning to see if the clomid has worked this month and grown some juicy eggs. Then, hopefully, I can have the PMS in a shot HCG trigger injection.

Happy Sundays all round xxxx Xmas Grin

Truffkin · 05/12/2010 14:30

Hi Frolickers,

Having a lovely lazy Sunday so thought I'd catch up with everyone. Am going to be making stew and baking a cake shortly so now is the perfect time!

Toria have realised we're cycle buddies and as your UCL is one less than mine, assume that means you'd be testing on Christmas Day Xmas Smile I'm excited at the potential for a Boxing Day BFP so you must be even moreso!

Cave have never been to a silent disco but heard lots of good things about them. It sounds funny and I'd almost definitely be the person singing along! Glad you had a good time.

Garden yours and Mr G's stamina never ceases to astound me, am in awe! We've named next week 'Sex Week' and are aiming for every day from Tuesday to Saturday, assuming OV happens on Friday, then implantation sex on Thursday-Saturday of the following week. Mr T is very much up for this plan so I feel like we're properly double teaming this month, rather than me setting a timetable Xmas Grin

Raspberry sorry to hear about Mr Tipple's bad back. I know how horrible that can be so hope you are looking after him. Glad it doesn't interfere with OVing though, that would clearly not be on Wink

Waves to everyone else, am off to buy a few missing ingredients then chanelling my inner (and usually well hidden!) Nigella. Just buttering up DH in preparation for 'Sex Week' (TM)

Truffkin · 05/12/2010 14:32

Sorry Garden I meant to wish you luck for your scan tomorrow. Am keeping my fingers crossed for juicy follicle detection!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 05/12/2010 17:09

Truff I had a chuckle at Sex Week (TM) Xmas Grin I am indeed due to test on Christmas Day. Trying very hard not to think like that though, this month is for enjoying, not counting. Yes. Honest (did not lock myself in the toilet at work today with my phone to count days and check my CM. Oh no...)

Garden I too am in awe of your stamina, and PMSL at "Being romantic" think that should be in the next fred title Xmas Smile

Cavey we went to a silent disco about thwo and a half years ago during the Fringe. Loved it! Glad you enjoyed the ball Xmas Grin

Weird goings on here, since I already admitted I've been keeping track. Had what looked like EWCM the day before yesterday and have had varying degrees of ov like pain a couple of times over the last three days. Have been massively dehydrated and when I took my temp yesterday (out of interest as have nothing to compare it to) it was the lowest I've ever seen it. So I really, truly, have no idea what is going on. I am simply donning my shag cape, drinking my wine and going for it. Come next weekend my liver, ovaries and head will be screaming for mercy!

OP posts:
Truffkin · 06/12/2010 00:16

Sorry Toria didn't mean to detract from your zen month! Hope the 'sex week' (TM) reference gets me off the hook Smile

Has anyone seen the secret santa thread in 'Christmas'? It's made me feel all warm and fuzzy! Will be keeping an eye out next year so I can join in!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 06/12/2010 08:04

Don't worry Truff I'm not even kidding myself with my zen month lol, Sex Week (TM) definitely gets you off the hook Xmas Grin I am more relaxed tihs month though, drank an obscene amount of wine for a school night last night and am now watching the OH clearing the cars as we had more snow last night.

Haven't seen the Secret Santa thread but my mum has just passed through on her way South and suddely there are presents under my tree, it must be Christmas now! Still not seen the Coke ad though...

How were your stew and cake?

Happy Monday ladies,
Best of luck garden on your scan and hope the shot is easier on you this time around. I can't believe I am on Day 22 given that we are clomid buddiens and I've somehow leapfrogged a whole week!! Also not sure what's happening inside - - and when I'll be due for my ERTD this month. Am hoping it will around my 15 Dec consultant appt though - fingers crossed.
Am so glad the snow cleared out on Saturday and was able to go for my run - - Last week was miserable - no run from Tues - Fri!!! Have now resolved to go swimming the days I do not run... Sunday - went for a Bikram Yoga class.. have any of you tried that? It was my first (though have been doing Yoga off and on since I was six) LOVED the heat :) and my body felt great after..
Went for my run this morning too.. and thought I'll quickly catch up given my general absence all week.
Though I got to say - I feel great with this current approach of not obsessing about my day to day progress.... when this happens, it will happen :)

Cavey Thanks for the link - will go take a peak - - Have a dinner to go to on Sat and am a bit unsure on what to wear.. I have a wardrobe full of terrible stuff..and now that I've dropped a couple of sizes (13 kilos ladies - but only 10 since December last)- - I feel like I can now WISH to dress a bit better.. Suggestions for an apple shaped petite woman?? I got this fab black jacket at Anthropologie over the weekend.. so want to figure out a dress (or longish top with tights) and boots underneath...
The silent disco sounds fun.. sometimes I groan at how old we are... often choosing home in front of tele to having a late night out.. GROAN..
Waves to Lanky

gardenpixie · 06/12/2010 12:03

Hello ladies

Thanks for the good wishes re my scan! It went really well as there are two follicles on my right ovary - one is 21mm and one is 16mm. The consultant reckons the 21mm will def pop today or tomorrow (given I had the psychosis-in-a-syringe HCG injection this morning as well) and that the smaller one might also make it to 18mm and pop tomorrow.

So at least there'll be one little egg to take advantage of this cycle's flag hoisting extravaganza!

Sorry to post and run rather rudely but I have to go and do work stuff (grrrr) but will come back later to say hi properly

Xmas Grin
Truffkin · 06/12/2010 12:24

Great news Garden it must feel great to have actual confirmation that all you hard work is for such a good cause! Hope the shot goes easy on you and you don't end up a total psycho hose beast Grin

Womanly you sound amazingly chilled out, I'm really impressed. If it's a shopping spree you are after, I'm having a massive love in with M&S at the moment. I really love the Autograph range, they have some nice dresses / tunic type things. (not to mention their shoe boots, I appear to have accidentally bought 3 pairs in the last couple of months!) Congrats on the weight loss too, you sound far too 'together' to be sharing this thread Wink Grin

TigerseyeMum · 06/12/2010 17:18

be romantic Grin that is a brilliant euphemism. My GP used 'Stand by your beds' Grin which makes me larf.

I am still poorlified though and SWIing must start in earnest any day now...

Good luck with it garden Love your 'flag hoisting' euphemism! We should start a euphemism thread Grin

TomboyWife · 06/12/2010 19:08

Evening ladies!

'Stand by your beds'? Really? Grin

garden if you have two follicles ready to pop, does that mean it's likely you'll fall pregnant with twins? Forgive me if that's a silly and/or obvious question.

Well, it was quite a boozy weekend for me. My tits are definitely getting sorer (though not bigger), so part of me wants to take garden's suggestion of indulging like mad in case I have to stop altogether (or very nearly altogether) soon. There's a 2/3-full bottle of white in the fridge... Hmm

CaveMum · 07/12/2010 07:19

Morning ladies, it is definitely quiet around here these days.

womanly have you looked on Ebay? If there is a particular make/designer you like (and you know your sizing), it can be a great place to pick up a bargain.

garden glad to hear your scan was so positive. We understand if you are too busy to post for the next few days Xmas Wink.

Tomboy how long are you planning on holding out for before you test?

Tigers hope you feel better soon.

[waves] to anyone else that might be lurking!

raspberrytipple · 07/12/2010 07:25

Hi girls, sorry not been on much. Been a busy bunny but thought I'd check in quickly, got my light box yesterday !!! It's currently blinding me from the bedside table!! I'll pop back in later for a proper catch up but I'm 25 days into my cycle I think with little to report.

One of the girls at work told me she was 13 weeks yesterday but I feel so happy for her, not upset for me like I thought I might. she had a horrendous time of it a few months ago with a miscarriage so I'm glad this bean is ok. Anyway, if one gets preggers at my place it means another three will follow so I reckon it bodes well for me in the new year!!

Will be back later to catch up properly! :)

raspberrytipple · 07/12/2010 07:27

X-posts with cavey waves yes it has been v. Quiet!! We must all be getting ready for d day at the end of the month, or should I say 'x' day Grin

Morning Frolickers,

Truff I have managed to keep the psychosis under control so far ... but I think that's only because I'm working from home today. Can't wait until I have to commute in tomorrow - a good bit of being pushed around and jammed into a train should bring out the full post-HCG monster!

Tomboy it's not a daft question! Yes, if both follicles pop and do what they're meant to, there's a chance I could get pg with twins but I'm not holding my breath! It does mean that we'll have double the chance this cycle; that's still not very much but I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Hi Womanly I know what you mean! It really doesn't seem that long ago that we were both clomid newbies and now I only have two sets of tablets to take before I'm up to the 6 month limit. I hope you are OK and that your ovaries are happier; obviously any kind of gynae appointment is bound to lure ERTD out! Only a week to go until your appt - I hope they can sort things out for you so we can start tablet popping together again!

Tiger I love 'stand by your beds' - presumably one needs to do a bit more than standing? Or is that where I've been going wrong ...? One of the things that does make me chuckle is all the silly language that surrounds TTC - we should definitely compile a list ...

Hi Cavey lovely to see you. Fortunately working at home has meant I have enough time to SWI and post today! Xmas Blush How are you doing? Hope you are well - is Mr Cave back at his base again now?

Raspberry good for you for being happy for your work mate ... it is different when someone's had MC horrors before isn't it? One of my friends just told everyone she's 16wks which normally would have brought out the Xmas Envy but she had a MMC earlier in the year and had complications after the D&C so I actually feel relieved for her that it's all going OK this time. Hope you get less hectic soon!

Waves and boiled eggs & soldiers to everyone else

xxxx

ToriaPumpkinHead · 07/12/2010 11:00

Morning!

Oooh, exciting news about your follicles Garden Fingers crossed the PMT-in-a-shot does it's stuff and you soon have twin baby pixies growing in there!

For everyone who's feeling rubbish have some hot toddies, there's a fair dose of it going about up here as well so the whisky is now a permanent feature in my kitchen!

Just heading out to reflex, still very chilled which is nice (and due to the wine), I'm still having various ovulation type symptoms which after last month is just throwing me completely, didn't get the shag cape on last night as I was a little bit too pickled to do anything (I've had to redo all my knitting this morning) but will get back on it tonight!

OP posts:
TigerseyeMum · 07/12/2010 11:52

Morning all. Still lurgified here. SWIing from tomorrow so may have to dose up on cough mixture and 'stand by my bed' Grin

My dog is doing his best to get me in the habit of cleaning up bodily function fluids - he wees at least twice a night and he also deposited poo for me to wake up to this morning. Lovely. So I feel fully prepared in the event I find myself with bean, nappies should be a breeze after elderly incontinent dogs.

Truffkin · 07/12/2010 18:34

Helloooooooo

It is quiet in here of late, hope we are all busy SWIing rather than boring things like work! Unfortunately I am trying to fit in both and bloody work keeps getting in the way, am popping on here whilst waiting for a phone call before I can go home for the day. I've had a few odd days off recently for various things and am lucky enough to be off for the whole Christmas break so shouldn't really complain about having to work my butt off to fit things in now I suppose Wink

Thanks for the hot toddy Toria the barman at a work function last week made me one, which everyone thought was hilarious as they were drinking champagne. Hope you enjoyed reflexology, I had to cancel mine last week but am rescheduling for Friday so I can chill down before the weekend. We're tackling the big Christmas gift shop on Saturday so I shall need all the calm I can muster.

Cape's on tonight and we'll be standing by our bed for the rest of the week. Am hoping to summon some Garden-like stamina and really give it our best shot this month. I feel a bit like I'm writing off all the previous months, even though we did try. Just determined to give my follicles the very best chance for a Christmas BFP.

Hope everyone is coping well in the cold, we've got our heating on all day and even then we feel the need to snuggle under our fleecy blanket in the evening. Luckily Mr T is making a curry for dinner tonight so that should wawrm us up.

TigerseyeMum · 07/12/2010 18:45

Evening Truffkin it does seem to be Sex Week for everyone, doesn't it? We must have all synchronised somehow Grin

I will be SBMB shortly with Mr Tiger, sent him a text saying 'need an early night' but he couldn't figure out what it meant Hmm his face lit up when I explained.

Though as I am still feling very crap it will be a rather lazy attempt and when I lay down I cough uncontrollably so may have to be inventive.

TMI???? Blush

Enjoy the curry, lucky you if Mr Truffkin has curry-making talents. Don't put too much chilli in if you are doing the horizontal fandango though. It burns if it gets in, err, intimate places Shock

Well, the garden household flag is well and truly hoisted - 7 times in 4 days Blush Mr Garden is a star! The latest I would have ov'd after my HCG shot is tonight so I think we have definitely given our best, erm, shot this cycle! All I can do now is sit back and drive myself nuts for the next two weeks!

How is everyone else's SWIing going?

Toria hope you enjoyed the reflex? Such a good idea to do it - I keep meaning to get round to it but I'm finding it pretty hard to fit anything in around all the SWI!

Truff Mmmmmm curry, lucky you!

Tiger I hope you feel better soon and find some inventive positions to keep the cough at bay!

Truff , Tiger and anyone else approaching sex week : here, I hand the baton over to you ... may it hoist your flags as well it has ours over the last few days!

Xmas Grin
